Automated access governance has strengthened security and supports user-centric approvals
The workflows such as joiner, mover, and leaver work in Microsoft Entra ID Governance. Entitlement Management is a bundle of resources where Microsoft Entra ID applications, groups, and SharePoint sites are packaged into a single package so that users can request it. This is one of the great features for Microsoft Entra ID Governance. Another feature is Access Review, which allows an automated schedule to be managed for the manager or resource owner so that they can verify whether people still need access. Privileged Identity Management is another feature for governance that provides just-in-time (JIT) access for administrative roles. For example, instead of being a permanent or global admin, which is a major security risk, an IT professional is eligible for the role and must request four hours of access only when they need to perform a specific task. There is a feature called access package. If any user wants particular application access, they can request this application via Microsoft Entra ID Governance access package. Whenever an end user makes a request, the access goes to one application manager and their current line manager. If they approve it, then they get the application access. This is a very good feature for user-centric purposes. Microsoft Entra ID Governance includes securing AI agent identity. As a company uses more AI generation such as Copilots or custom bots, those bots need their own identity just as employees do. Microsoft Entra now provides a way to assign unique identities to AI agents so you can control what data they can access. Microsoft Entra ID Governance protection now looks for risky behavior in AI agents. If a bot suddenly tries to download an unusual amount of data or unconscious data, it can detect this as a risk detection factor. Security Copilot allows Entra administrators to manage identity with natural language. Microsoft Entra ID Governance has protection and authentication features. Smart risk detection protects and analyzes to detect threats such as impossible travel. If a person is logging in from many different locations, it detects this as a risk factor. A user cannot use an unauthenticated password or log in from an incompatible device. These AI features are used in conditional access management in Microsoft Entra ID Governance. Automation is used for user onboarding, user offboarding, and user update processes through user lifecycle management. If an organization uses Workday as an HR application where new users join and fill in their details, all these details get reflected into Workday and then reflected into Active Directory as well as Microsoft Entra ID Governance. This automation helps to manage the day-to-day user onboarding process, user offboarding process, and user update process. Microsoft Entra ID Governance automation also helps with password-related tasks, access recertification, and reporting.

Unified sign-in has simplified access control and has supported end-to-end identity lifecycle
The authentication process is good, but sometimes the responsiveness to requests for enhancement is very slow. I sometimes face issues with platform stability, flexibility in configuration, and limited API availability. I experience downtimes two to three times per year. OneLogin's support team is sometimes very slow to respond. There is a feature limitation with mapping, as OneLogin does not provide one-to-all mapping. For client deployment, we need to create separate mappings for each request, and we cannot use the same mapping for multiple requests. Other areas that have room for improvement are related to API limitations. If a client requires more APIs, such as 5,000 or 6,000, OneLogin charges more. The API rate limits by default or the standard limit should provide more than 5,000. Additionally, OneLogin could provide more flexibility in configuration. These are the main limitations I have identified with OneLogin.

Pros

"The platform's most valuable feature is the single sign-on service."
"The best features are Access Review and Entitlement Management, where recertification can be run on-demand or on a time-based schedule so that all privileged users get certified by their managers regarding whether they still need access, making it a very good feature for user-centric purposes."
"The most valuable features are multifactor authentication and account creation for the Exchange environment in Office 365."
"The features of Microsoft Entra ID Governance have benefited our organization because we have ServiceNow in our organization and we have been able to create integrations through Lifecycle Management to do onboarding and offboarding easier."
"The most valuable functions in Microsoft Entra ID Governance are ease of use, conducting access reviews, and tighter platform coupling."
"Access reviews are an essential feature of Entra Governance. Additionally, privileged identity management is one of its most valuable features. Just-in-time access, or Jet GIT, is integral to this system. Moreover, user behavior analytics stands out as one of its top features."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Entra ID Governance for identity management is multi-factor authentication."
"Regarding Microsoft Entra ID Governance integration with Microsoft services, there is automated identity lifecycle management in the product."
"In my role, the most valuable features are two-factor authentication and self-service password reset. The most helpful feature for the institution as a whole is probably the single sign-on. As an IT director, I care about security and ease of use."
"OneLogin has strengthened my security posture, streamlined user onboarding and offboarding, and provided a seamless experience for employees accessing multiple applications."
"OneLogin positively impacts my organization by significantly reducing the time required for user onboarding, decreasing dependency on management, enabling my IT team to focus on other critical tasks, improving overall effectiveness, and reducing manpower costs for the organization."

Cons

"Sometimes, the solution is not super reliable."
"If you want to conduct access review of database-based applications, then you cannot do that."
"The platform's configuration process needs improvement."
"The solution lacks the feature to work well with third-party applications."
"I would rate customer service at three out of ten."
"Microsoft Entra ID Governance should improve its capability to manage identities and access from a single console."
"There are some areas where improvements are necessary. Even though we have almost the full package, there are some bugs."
"If you want to conduct access review of database-based applications, then you cannot do that."
"OneLogin by One Identity is strong, but there is room to improve."
"The solution keeps going down for many hours, which impacts the entire company."
"Other organizations can use OneLogin, but they can also refer to Okta."
"The solution keeps going down for many hours, which impacts the entire company. You can't access any applications. OneLogin Desktop has a huge problem where it locks your computers and you need to reset the whole computer, which is pretty insane."
"I think OneLogin is good, but it would be better if it could provide a mobile app that includes specific features, for example, to check logs or compliance."
"OneLogin could be improved with more add-ins for integration with Entra ID and Exchange Online."
"OneLogin could be improved with simpler user management features, though the current interface is relatively straightforward to use."
"Service outages can affect login access, so improving uptime would help avoid business disruptions."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In the education sector where I work, the annual cost for my Google and Microsoft environments is approximately $35,000. This covers the needs of 3,400 students and 800 faculty and staff members."
"While other products give the pricing for their application, Microsoft Entra ID Governance has a per-user-based license model."
"The solution's pricing is not low but reasonable."
"There are no additional costs besides the standard licensing fees."
"OneLogin's pricing, from the perspective of the education sector, seems quite reasonable for the value it delivers."
"The pricing for OneLogin seems to be okay. The pricing and licensing are affordable. If you'd consider OneLogin to be expensive, it's worth it."
"The price of the licensing is fine."
"While I wish OneLogin's pricing was more affordable, their licensing model, which is based on per user, is acceptable."
"It was cheap in the beginning, and then it became very expensive. We were initially charged $2 per user per month, which was fine, but by the second year, they increased it to $5 per user. That became very expensive for us because we had about 1,500 users. At $2 per user, it comes out to be $3,000 a month, which is $36,000 a year. If we move to $5 per user, it comes out to be $7,500 a month. That made its cost so high. That is why we removed the product because the cost was high."
"Surprisingly expensive given the price of on-premise solutions."
"We were happy with the price we got when we signed up, but I don't know what will happen when the time comes to renew because it is a different company now. We haven't seen any pricing models or had that discussion yet. My renewal is a year and a half away. It's worth what we're paying for it. There's no way we could provide the level of service for cheaper or try to do the same in-house."
"The pricing and licensing are reasonable. It is much cheaper than other products."
