Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

Enhances remote access and integration with third-party tools
I use NinjaOne for managing smaller clients, specifically their devices and software, for small to medium businesses. I provide remote management services through NinjaOne. It allows clients to use NinjaOne for remote access to their computers for home office purposes. This feature is highly…

The solution is stable, scalable, and offers single sign-on
I give the solution a nine out of ten. I suggest if a person wants to start using Workspace ONE, they should make use of the cloud instance instead of the on-premise instance. There is an on-premise instance available, but the cloud instance is a better option now. I advise them to make use of the cloud instance. This is because management-wise, there is no need to manage a server. For example, we don't need to buy a server, and we don't need to buy network switches, which are required for the on-premise. At the same time, I can advise setting up all the functionalities or whatever functionalities are available for the trial version. We need to check if the Workspace ONE integration includes Azure AD or other identity providers. A lot of applications are using these providers for authentication, such as Ping, Okta, and others. If the Workspace ONE integration doesn't include these providers, the company might have to find a different solution. Security projects should also be considered. Specifically, if the solution can integrate with local security solutions to secure mobile devices.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Intune has automated the deployment of patches and applications, which is more efficient and easier. It allows us to deploy applications, packages, Windows updates, and security updates like BitLocker encryption more efficiently and easily."
"The ability to send configurations to our systems is valuable, particularly as we don't have a regular Windows AD server. Our current environment doesn't have a Windows AD, which limits our ability to push GPOs. However, this is where the solution can step in and help us push policies."
"The thing I appreciate most about Microsoft Intune is that the management of the devices was very simplified. We have all machines connected to it at all times, whether they are in the office or working from home."
"I appreciate Intune's autopilot feature, which allows us to enroll devices and install applications to meet corporate requirements seamlessly."
"Dynamic groups allow us to set conditions for automatic membership, eliminating the need for user intervention or manual review and ensuring a seamless workflow."
"The cloud base is perfect for me."
"Autopilot is a great feature. Most users are looking for a zero-touch deployment."
"The ability to block and erase remote devices is valuable to us, especially when those devices are lost."
"NinjaOne helps us view the status of software patching, whether the PC is locked or unlocked."
"NinjaOne's best feature is its monitoring."
"The most valuable feature we have found currently is probably patch management."
"The most relevant feature is the monitoring, which provides built-in tools for sending commands."
"The most important aspect of this tool is the security it provides our company."
"The software's automation tools have solved critical deployment problems for small businesses."
"The solution's most valuable feature is related to its remote access...I know that NinjaOne's technical support is good."
"The tool's most valuable feature is third-party application updates."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the multi-platform support."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the tracking of the devices."
"It is easy to start something and work from scratch."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it enables us to remotely manage the devices, which is its purpose, and to push applications to the mobile devices from the portal."
"We recently integrated Workspace ONE with our intelligence report, and this is a great tool from a reporting point of view. In our daily business, we get several requests from businesses to provide an Adobe request for monitoring, whether it is for Android or iOS devices. The main benefit of this tool is that we can exclude the report for applications."
"It's all about securing data with the help of the email client called VMware Boxer. It enables the end-user to carry data in their mobile devices but there is containerization between the personal data and the organization's data. It helps enhance their security while still carrying their own BYOD."
"The solution includes support for remote work. It also features identity management. This setup supports our users remotely by providing default monitoring and tunneling into our environment, eliminating the need for additional VPN software to access backend applications and staff resources."
"The location and remote management services are the most valuable."

Cons

"The reporting needs to be a bit more interactive."
"It should be simplified. I've worked with many different mobile device management solutions, and Intune is one of the more complex ones. It could be more simplified, and some of it is related to the wording that is being used, such as a configuration profile versus a policy. They really should have had different names to make it less confusing."
"Historically, Group Policy has simplified the management of various items, such as printer and drive mappings and while Intune offers workarounds, it lacks native support for these functionalities. This is an area I believe needs improvement."
"It's only good for a Microsoft environment."
"The reports that are generated aren't so great. They don't give a lot of meaning so far, but that could be down to user knowledge than the actual reporting side of things. I'm not a big user of it, but I was a bigger user of MaaS360, and we used to be able to run weekly and monthly reports. In the case of any deviations. we'd get a warning immediately. That's not so easy to do or to get in place for Intune. This could be just a user issue, but when I compare both, that's the only thing that's lacking for me."
"Since GMS is unavailable in China, we currently rely on device administrator enrollment for managing Android devices there."
"The security features should be improved."
"Deploying an app can be a complex process due to dependencies."
"The inclusion of XENServer and Proxmox as virtual platforms in NinjaOne is currently missing."
"Lacks sufficient integrations with other PSAs."
"NinjaOne's pricing and user interface needs improvement."
"The network monitoring needs to be improved."
"The remote connectivity could be better. It works most of the time, but sometimes, there are issues."
"The inclusion of XENServer and Proxmox as virtual platforms in NinjaOne is currently missing."
"The NinjaOne distribution server is highly dependent on an active directory."
"The reporting is lackluster. NinjaOne is great for maintaining systems, but it's hard to use it to understand the state that systems are in without going in and mining the information myself. I rate the reporting two out of 10."
"There is a need for better user lifecycle management within VMware Identity Manager, along with better user governance...The scalability of the product needs to improve."
"We have a lot of problems when it comes to integrating with Active Directory."
"VMware Workspace ONE sometimes has bugs that prevent it from working as intended or expected. Generally, these bugs can lead to unexpected results and hinder effectiveness."
"We'd like more useful support."
"The solution is too complicated. A lot of end customers don't know how to start when they go into the console."
"We'd like to see a better connection to Microsoft Azure and a better connection with Check Point."
"I would like to see more service notifications."
"The database gets corrupted when used in the cluster. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Microsoft Intune is available for individual purchase at a low per-device cost."
"Even if they charge a premium, they aim to provide equal value."
"Microsoft Intune is a cost effective choice. It is less expensive than other products on the market."
"I am not that aware of the pricing, but as compared to other MDM solutions, Microsoft is providing a lot of things at the organizational level. So, it is quite reasonable as compared to other MDM solutions."
"Based on the features that it gives, it is cost-efficient. It is not necessarily on the expensive side of the scale. It provides a hefty number of features that any organization would want. It is in a good price range."
"Any bundle package, such as Security E3, covers multiple things, such as AAP, BitLocker, etc. If you go for them individually, they would be more expensive. Bundling makes the price more attractive and competitive."
"On a scale of one to ten with one being the cheapest, the cost of Microsoft Intune is a five."
"For organizations that are a Microsoft shop, the pricing is compelling."
"I rate the solution’s pricing a five out of ten, where one is the lowest and ten is the most expensive."
"Its pricing is great."
"NinjaOne's price is fine since my workplace is an educational institution, so we get the product at a really good price considering that we do not pay taxes, making the prices very fair and worth the product."
"NinjaRMM uses a subscription model."
"It roughly costs $400 a month. It provides a good value because of the number of tools that you get in the solution. I would rate it a four out of five in terms of pricing. There are no additional costs other than the standard licensing fees."
"The product's pricing depends on the number of PCs or devices."
"We currently pay $1.20 per device on a monthly basis."
"The pricing is reasonable and cheaper than ConnectWise."
"My guess is that its licensing was yearly. There was probably no fee in addition to the standard licensing fee."
"We pay approximately thirty to thirty-five euros per device per month for the complete suite, and this is a fixed cost with one, three, or five-year licensing in advance. I would rate the pricing a four out of ten, making it affordable."
"It's a highly affordable solution"
"Pricing is an area that could be improved."
"There is a separate cost for technical support and extra premium features. The pricing should be simplified."
"VMware Workspace ONE licensing price is good with their supportability. The price of VMware Workspace ONE is reasonable. We are using an enterprise license."
"Its pricing was okay for our company."
"The solution runs at roughly around $36/user for a year."
