Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Excellent pricing with great change management and service management capabilities
We started with version 9.3, and now we're on 9.6 with the full solution, including the CMS. They have lots of options. They propose a full solution for technology and IT service management. We are a telecom company. We are a leader in the market, and therefore, we need to have all details about our own environment and assets. So far, Micro Focus answers all our needs. I'd advise new users to go directly to the SMAX solution, the last, last version of Service Manager. If they are a technical company or information technology company with engineers and developers, they can use it on-premise. If they don't have such competence in the company, they can ask for the solution on the cloud. It is easily available on Microsoft, Amazon, or Google clouds. I'd rate the product nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Automation is going to become a new area we will certainly encourage a lot of people to pursue because of the lasting dividends it provides, including saving time and manpower."
"We have started to see the ROI, as activities in which resources in my team would have taken four to five hours are now done in 30 minutes."
"We have been able to take an accounting task and clear a very large backlog, therefore being completely up-to-date on the task since implementing a bot on it."
"We use IQ Bot for invoice processing. It can be any type of document. It could be a PDF or any sort of document. It will convert those PDFs into CSV files, which is a structured format. It takes it from an unstructured to structured format. That is why we use IQ Bot."
"Just for this use case, we had around 300 tickets coming in every month. We went live last month and the tickets went down to around 80 as of August 20th. While it might touch around 100, over a period of around six months it will become zero because we have not removed all the legacy data. We are just doing it from the go date of when we went live. The target is that it will be zero after three months. So, it's working well."
"Automation Anywhere is very easy to use; it's a low-code platform that a person who doesn't have any technical knowledge can use."
"The ease of access and deployment are the most valuable features."
"I would rate Automation Anywhere a nine out of ten."
"Micro Focus Service Manager is a good platform, but ServiceNow is better because it's more flexible and easier, and it provides a lot of features and functions out of the box, ready to use."
"It has features such as integration with Skype for Business, smart analytics, and smart ticketing."
"HP products generally have always been stable, and this is no different."
"The solution will streamline productivity and also improve automation, bringing efficiency as well as the ability to handle a big number of enterprise-wide service needs, with productivity and collaborative capabilities being some of the key benefits."
"It's easy to scale."
"It gives us better understanding and control of service management."
"The return on investment is unquantifiable; I would have thought we have made our money back now in the way it has streamlined processes."
"The design has been revamped in terms of GUI. The current interface is quite easy to read."
"Customer service has been one of the best for any software provider we have seen; any issue we had was solved quickly."
"If you are looking for an affordable solution for your business but want all the features of something you would expect to pay highly for, choose Vision Helpdesk! Trust me - you won't look back!"
"Vision Helpdesk has a very small price but has many functions, and compared with others their price is 3-5x lower for similar functionality."

Cons

"I have experienced the issues of UI getting stuck. There seems to be an issue with server stability. This is something that can be better."
"We would like it to be more user-friendly."
"Unfortunately, this process was not used for a long time due to latency issues and a functionality gap."
"Automation Anywhere can improve process mining."
"Automation Anywhere could add more tools to track the processes and ROI, so we can get a better understanding of the cost savings and compliance. We heavily track those metrics and make them available to the leadership for review."
"The installation piece was sort of complicated because we are new to the business. We are new to installing Automation Anywhere services and the services that they are providing. So, we are sort of expected some kind of installation engineer to come onto our premises and provide the support, rather than remotely."
"If the deployment is not right, you get the frustration, not the automation."
"Bringing a DevOps model for bot implementation integrated through private bot store might be a good idea to improve the tool."
"The solution does not interface well with other products and is difficult to implement."
"I think it brings uncertainty, and they're well aware of that."
"We still find ourselves wrapping customizations around it more than we would like, and we still find the upgrade path more costly and time consuming than we would hope."
"The first level of support is slow and it takes some time to receive support."
"Their end-user interface and technical support features could be improved."
"The end-user experience is very key for me. At the moment, that's an area that the product's perhaps a bit weak."
"There's a lot of manual work, which is error prone and time consuming, in how the code gets transported from one system to the other."
"We struggle with and the simplicity of getting reporting data at a high level, and output is not where it needs to be for us."
"I think I'd like to see a more user-friendly interface in the user-ticket view."
"Their live-chat support needs work."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our annual licensing costs are about $500,000."
"The licensing cost for Automation Anywhere is high."
"I am not sure about the costs, but two Bot Runners and four Bot Creators may cost approximately 1CR."
"We are interested in saving manual engineer man-hours. So far, we have saved $100,000."
"This is a comprehensive automation offering with a scalable architecture and flexible pricing models."
"Complaints are generally about the cost of IQ Bot, which is higher than its competitors. The base model’s pricing is comparable to other platforms with attended, unattended, and IDP capabilities as well."
"Initially, they charged a premium, but now the rest of the vendors have increased their overall pricing and Automation Anywhere is not that high at this time. It's pretty viable."
"We have seen about a 10 percent monetary savings."
"The license is not cheap."
"HP Service Manager has moderate pricing."
"I would say that identify your requirements and pay for the support to implement and test those requirements, and then hope that you did a good job because the cost of their service is fairly expensive."
"I pay for Service Manager on a yearly basis, and the price is reasonable - I would rate it five out of ten."
"Micro Focus Service Manager is a little cheaper than other options. You have to pay a monthly subscription fee."
