It makes communication easier due to transparency on processes
BPM/BPI activities in various business areas. This has been particularly useful in end user workshops where people are able to see and comment on actual process model immediately. This focuses communication and makes it easier to avoid misunderstandings Processes become clearer, easier to…

Innovation in diagramming has streamlined complex UML tasks
Visual Paradigm allowed me to create UML diagrams efficiently. The tool was smarter than other tools in terms of remembering the connections between components on the screen. For example, in other drawing programs, if I moved a box, I had to move the arrow, but Visual Paradigm handled those tasks automatically. This made it much quicker than using other tools like Visio or MagicDoor.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We had great service directly from QPR."
"It makes communication easier due to transparency on processes."
"Processes become clearer, easier to understand, and easier to spot in development areas."
"The solution is stable. It hasn't crashed, stopped or caused any issues in any way."
"I guess the most valuable feature is that I find it easy-to-use and understand its data modeling structure and user interface."
"The application is easy to use and provides informative diagrams."
"Stable design software with multiple functions and features. It's simple to install and easy to use."
"It is easy and intuitive to use, not excessively rigid, and quite flexible."
"Visual Paradigm is super user-friendly, especially for new team members. I always have them start with it because the interface is so simple to pick up. They usually spend about six months to a year using only Visual Paradigm before moving on to other tools. We also use the cloud repository for collaborative work, but I've had some trouble with code reviewing and limitations. Sometimes, customers even request the source file or exported XML because it's easier for them to access and review."
"Visual Paradigm is modern because of its UX, it gives a very good user experience, and has more models."
"The solution is the best application for data modeling. It helps to architect business processes. Its best features are pricing and functionality."

Cons

"There is definitely a need to produce models in XML. There is already something available, but it seems that transferring between the different modelling tools is difficult."
"From time to time, we experience some troubles when we work as teams."
"Visual Paradigm is much better now. But each project has its own challenges, which is why I'm exploring different tools for my new projects. For instance, designing reports can be tough, especially with the costly intervention of professional services from vendors."
"It's still early for me to comment since I've only been using it for two months, but the responsiveness when diagramming needs to be improved."
"The user interface is not easy to navigate, so it should be made easier."
"The solution can be heavy on resource usage."
"The solution is not user-friendly. It uses a lot of memory and CPU. You have to have a good computer to use it."
"Visual Paradigm can improve by having better process mining tools and model integration."
"The speed of redrawing elements and links in complex models - when you need to move part or all of the diagram across the diagram, the tool has a slow response when redrawing objects."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"You can use Paradigm on a subscription basis and you can choose from different tiers of subscription."
"You can move between the tiers from month to month so you are not restricted to one pricing model."
"This is an open-sourced solution, it is free to use."
"The pricing of Visual Paradigm is very appropriate and affordable. There are no hidden costs involved."
"I rate the pricing a three on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"This product is fairly cheap, but if you want more complex features, e.g. integration with other products, it does require an additional cost."
"Visual Paradigm's pricing is not expensive."
"Compared to other solutions such as IBM Rational which is expensive, This solution is priced low."
