The use case for having Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers in our university is that they are sources and resources for our infrastructure. We use it for our VMware infrastructure and VDI.

The feature I appreciate the most about the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is the iDRAC, as we were able to remove our KVMs from the data center and use iDRAC as a management platform. 

The Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers help my organization overall since they are very reliable and very scalable.

I actually love the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers the way they are right now.

I would improve the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers by enhancing the GUI and providing a better hands-on experience for quick fixes on the servers, as most of the work is done by a vendor coming in to fix the systems. Having some videos online on the disassembly of the servers would be helpful.

Regarding downtime with the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, they're very reliable, so we hardly have any downtime, and we have quick turnaround on repairs.

The Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers support the growing needs of my university, as the scalability allows us to add more resources fast. We have good turnaround with our vendor partners and getting the new equipment in as soon as possible.

On a scale of one to ten, I rate the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers as a ten; I definitely really love them and would not change that for anything at the moment.

We currently use Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers to run Microsoft Hyper-V and Red Hat VCI. 

In addition to that, AX nodes that are adjacent to the regular PowerEdge servers are highly customized. The test cases we are running mainly involve internal processing on data that we have, and also for company-wide cases. 

We host a portal for everyone to interact with for internal lookups and trying to steer everyone away from going public with OpenAI ChatGPT. We have our own internal search now, and it's also able to ingest our internal documentation sites, in addition to our other data sets that we have.

My current organization really wouldn't be anywhere without the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. All we've been buying have been PowerEdge servers. It's pretty mission-critical for us. The vast majority of our regular PowerEdges we've got from that, and we also have FCs and some older tech as well, however, those are being replaced by our Red Hat VCI ones, which are the AX nodes.

The most valuable feature of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is their integrated iDRAC and the way that the servers are built; it's pretty space optimized, so users can get a lot of functionality in there for whatever they're working on. 

The monitoring for the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is great; we get all the alerts, we get everything about it, and we avoid outages thanks to the features of the iDRAC.

We got all the alerts we needed in time, so we knew we could get parts dispatched and everything else, and it's gotten better. They've got AI monitoring for the stuff, so now they're telling us about drives that are failing before we notice them ourselves.

There's not really much to be done that hasn't already happened; they've shifted over now, and users can plug in on the latest models as they have USBC ports if they need to console in. 

There isn't really much in need of improvement; it's really up to whatever you decide to buy. You can buy all the right options and get what you need, however, you have to be careful and make sure you buy what makes sense.

I'd appreciate seeing more options in terms of expandability for certain Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers models. The expandability issues I've experienced are mainly with the 700 series of the R series chassis, primarily around what can fit in for PCI expansion cards. It's fair, however, there might be some room for more flexibility around it.

I have personal experience with Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for the last three and a half years at my current organization, and at a prior work, I had experience with PowerEdge servers for another five years.

The reliability and skills of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers are pretty reliable; I haven't had to worry about it too much. Even if something does go wrong, the monitoring is pretty good, and we get good alerts on whatever needs to be replaced. 

We haven't really had an outage due to hardware failure, definitely not on the PowerEdge servers themselves. Sometimes we might have something fail, a fan or power supply - things happen, however, it hasn't really caused an outage.

I evaluate the customer service support for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers as pretty rock solid and top-notch, especially if you get the right people in the right areas. Particularly around PowerEdges, you can almost depend on getting the right person you want.

We've looked at other solutions. Folks I used to work with, some of them moved on now. We've had experience working with many IBMs and HPs in the past. We're still getting the best value right now sticking with the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers platform.

I've helped deploy Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. I've done everything with them; I've racked them myself personally and been through that experience, so it's not bad.

The pricing and licensing of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers are very competitive. 

We've gotten some pretty good deals along the way; you can find anything to fit any budget. We've even gone the other route of actually buying some things for non-production; they've got some pretty good pricing on their Dell used product marketplace as well, though the name is slipping my mind right now. You can get what you need for a good price.

The Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers platform has improved over the years; I've seen the evolution with it. I wasn't too fond originally of some of the older PowerEdges, to be honest, however, as time moved on, the current generations are providing what I am looking for.

My role in using or managing Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers involves storage, virtualization, and server support.

The features of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers that I find most valuable include the ability to have different servers and different services hosted on one server, and the ability to connect them between other storage servers or appliances. These features definitely provide additional value to the end user, customers, company, and are reliable within the time frames that customers and clients demand.

Looking at the new models, they have greatly improved the cooling system, which is a significant advantage. In my experience, there were times when components overheated, but they have improved that aspect.

One area where Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers could improve is integration. The BYO feature, which allows users to bring their own license, is a particularly good aspect of the system.

I have been using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for 10 years at my current company. Our company has been using PowerEdge for at least 20 years.

Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers are very stable overall. The support, components, and OS are all reliable. We have experienced occasional downtimes, crashes, or performance issues, but nothing serious. When we need hardware replacement, such as RAM or a hard drive, the support is very fast.

To expand the usage of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, we simply have added more servers and equipment.

I would evaluate the support from Dell as exceptional. They have highly capable and trained personnel who are knowledgeable. We have a very good relationship with them, and they maintain transparency regarding reported issues and solutions.

We have Pure Storage, which we implemented less than two years ago, alongside Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. We chose Pure Storage based on the benefits of flash storage and rapid support. As a global company, everything our corporate office decides is replicated to all locations around the globe, which is one of the key differences.

The deployment is typically very smooth. We haven't had many issues. Usually, when we deploy a server with PowerEdge, it's a very smooth transition.

We started leasing with Dell, which has provided good CapEx and budgeting return financially. We are on a 16-month lease. One of the advantages is that we don't pay the CapEx immediately, and it allows us to have the latest Dell technology after three or five years, depending on our leasing contract.

When trying to quote devices and servers for our Mexico City offices directly with Dell instead of through a partner, we encountered some challenges. It took several months to negotiate appropriate pricing, requiring escalation to the director of Dell Mexico and communication with Dell US. Eventually, we reached an agreement with satisfactory pricing.

We are currently at the early stage of AI usage. However, Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers will definitely play a part in our AI-driven initiatives in the future. Currently, we haven't applied AI on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers as it's still in development. It will be part of our future development of AI. We are planning to focus on automation.

For companies considering Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, I recommend relying on Dell technology and their expertise. The innovation that Dell offers is crucial.

I rate Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers as nine out of ten.

My use case for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is running virtual machines mostly. We have one that I just deployed that is running Hyper-V and this is the first time we have had to deal with Hyper-V. 

It is going to be more or less the same thing, running virtual machines.

The most valuable feature of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is pretty much the same thing that I mentioned with PowerStore: the simplicity, the resiliency, and the fact that it just works. 

Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers benefit me because if I'm not having to use my time to troubleshoot something, I can use that time to implement new technologies for the company and similar tasks. Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers have been one of those things where I can set it and forget it. It just does its job and rarely ever has issues. Time saved equals new technologies for the company to use.

If I could improve Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers in any way, it would be something with OpenManage itself. I need more transparency on how OpenManage can help me with our company being an SMB. I want more documentation for SMBs regarding Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers.

I have been using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for twelve years.

I haven't had any downtime, crashes or performance issues with Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. We've had downtime but it's usually when we're upgrading something. It's never been downtime because the servers themselves need to be troubleshooted or anything similar.

For a small-medium business, Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers have supported our growth probably because of how easy it is to scale with them, as we have grown exponentially. We went from a company of just 200 users to a company of over 600 in just five years. Just increasing the amount of servers that we got has been easy.

I may have used the customer service or support for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers maybe nine years ago. I honestly can't even remember what it was about, but I think I've only really had to use it once. We still pay for support all the time, but it's nice to not have to use it.

I believe we've always used Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. Even when I came on board, my previous experience with my previous company was with Dell PowerEdge and when I came on board it was all Dell PowerEdge also.

For servers, I have not evaluated any other vendors and have no interest in doing so.

I feel Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers specifically caters to the needs of SMBs. There's a reason why I don't have any experience with any other vendors in terms of servers, just because I don't want to not use Dell PowerEdge.

Our company uses Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers primarily for VMware, but we also have several PowerEdge for NAS storage.

I am a system administrator. I deploy new servers. More recently, I've been decommissioning old servers and getting those ready to refurbish because we have to resell or surplus them. I also help look up specs to recommend to my director what we should get for the next refresh.

From using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, our company has realized sustainability and reliability, as we don't have to worry about whether they will go down or not. They have been very reliable, except for one server issue, which had nothing to do with Dell or the server itself, just an act of nature.

The most valuable feature of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is the iDRAC, because it allows me to remotely access it from my computer without having to plug in a monitor and keyboard. I can see what's wrong and manually push updates if needed. For example, we recently had a motherboard that was bad, and iDRAC informed me of the faulty component, which is helpful because it saves me from guessing what's wrong.

A nice-to-have feature for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers would be shorter lengths because we recently got a new data center with horizontal PDUs, and we had to replace some PowerEdges due to their longer sizes, which wouldn't fit without taking out the PDUs and switching to vertical ones.

I've been using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for three years now, and from what I can tell, my company has been using them for a very long time. They're great.

They are very reliable.

We are a small to medium-sized organization. Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers cater to the needs of our small to medium-sized company, as we can contact our Dell rep and explain our needs, and they can recommend the perfect PowerEdge for us.

I would describe my experience with Dell's support for PowerEdge solutions as great, as we had to get a motherboard replaced, and the replacement part arrived the next business day, which was impressive. I would rate them a 10 out of 10.

They tried HPE servers for a bit, but they didn't really like them.

The only challenge we faced was when they were longer servers. We couldn't fit them in our rack without taking out the PDUs.

I know the pricing for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers went up last year, and we weren't too happy about that, but it is what it is.

I would rate Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers a 10 out of 10.

We use classical servers for multi-purpose virtualization.

The biggest benefit in the product is mainly because Dell PowerEdge R-Series is a well-known company with very good support. The price is much better compared to other vendors such as HP, which is high priced and offers no better quality. From a price-performance perspective, we get most of what Dell or Lenovo offers.

Remote management stands out as one of the best capabilities for us.

The prediction of hardware error using some AI tools could still be improved.

We have been using Dell PowerEdge R-Series for some ten to twelve years.

Everything is satisfactory. I do not see any disadvantages. It is more that in the current market, you have to wait a little bit longer because of memory availability. The market is such that now you cannot get them as soon as you wish, but if you plan the purchases, then it is acceptable.

I would rate scalability as excellent. If you make the right purchase, then you can scale as you want.

I would rate customer support as excellent.

We replaced HP with Dell PowerEdge R-Series.

The initial setup is very easy.

We are a very small company and do not work with many vendors.

I would say we have achieved stability in operation. We will not grow by using Dell PowerEdge R-Series, but we have achieved stability.

We have Lenovo, Dell PowerEdge R-Series, and HP.

We are an end-user. There are no special features. If you purchase the right servers or the right solution, then everything is satisfactory. It is nothing special; it is just a server. I cannot think of anything that is not perfect. Everything is acceptable. I would rate this review a ten.

Our use case mainly involves running our exchange server 2019 on the SimpliVity, along with other healthcare-related servers that are also on HP, including the domain controller. We are moving away from HP because of their support issues and solutions.

The most valuable function we found in Hyper-Converged is the application version we are currently using, which is HP SimpliVity version 4.1.0.266, although we are not fully satisfied with it. We have been using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers without issues. We occasionally replace one or two servers, but the majority are still functioning well. We've relied on Dell's EqualLogic storage for over ten years, receiving many alerts but overall having a perfectly functioning setup in the back end.

Dell's support is an area that needs improvement as their product reliability is good, but the support is not as strong as HP's. I suggest that Dell should include a built-in backup solution in VxRail, similar to what we find in Sangfor, where the backup feature is integrated.

We have been working with HP Hyper-Converged for around five years.

We have never faced unplanned downtime with Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers.

After HP SimpliVity, the hyper-converged solution, we are not using any more HP servers. We are working with Nutanix and Sangfor, and previously we also worked with Dell. Initially, these servers were with Dell, but we moved them to HP SimpliVity after the hardware expired. Our reason for this shift was based on a technical and financial comparison, as we got a better price from HP.

Dell's pricing has been high for us, which led us to move to SimpliVity.

We are still working with Nutanix products, and we also moved to another vendor called Sangfor. We are using HP SimpliVity as our hyper-converged solution, but we are not satisfied with their services and support. We have 24 nodes of HP SimpliVity, and this year we decide not to renew the contract as we plan for one more solution which could be Nutanix to replace the SimpliVity.

We use Dell's EqualLogic storage technology and Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers R740, R730, R740, and R750 servers. We are also using some applications and one or two servers from HP for Cisco operations. We have been working with Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for maybe ten years. We use Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for our healthcare applications and for running an old version of the exchange server.

The main benefits we receive from Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers are stability and reliability. While we occasionally receive complaints about hard disk failures, overall, we find the solution satisfactory. We could not continue with Dell due to high pricing, but we have transitioned to HP and are now moving to Sangfor and Nutanix.

Flexibility-wise, both Dell and HP solutions are okay for us, as we run VMware on Dell hardware, managing around 120 to 130 virtual machines. In the past, we primarily used Dell while paying to Dell and VMware, but given the changes in VMware's pricing after Broadcom's acquisition, we are now transitioning to HCI solutions that provide similar features.

We cannot give a proper estimation of power consumption due to high cooling and availability in our data center, but our HCI solutions consume less electricity now compared to older Dell servers, which had high energy consumption. We are not familiar with AI workloads, as no one has presented this feature to us. We purchased the product from a third-party business partner.

When comparing Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers with HP SimpliVity, we see that they serve different purposes; Dell operates standalone on VMware, whereas HP is a hyper-converged solution. Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers stands out as a better option in this context. Overall, we give Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers a final rating of six out of ten.

We deployed Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers to support a VMware environment, and we're looking for something else, but primarily it's to support our software that we're delivering to our customers, allowing them to bring their own hardware if they wish; however, if they want us to provide it, we only bring Dell.

I find great value in Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, particularly in their excellent serviceability. At cost per feature, the pricing is great; I super love iDRAC and the serviceability, as they're easy to access when needed and work every time, showcasing consistency in quality.

The main benefit my customers see from installing or deploying Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is that they don't have to pay much attention to it because it runs smoothly, meaning they don't babysit it as they should, which while not ideal, indicates how stable the product is.

In my opinion, Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers could improve in clarity when specifying options; for instance, the difference between power supplies can sometimes be a little challenging to understand if you don't already know, but the product itself is great, and I believe it will continue to get better, so I don't have specific requests.

I have been using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for 15 years.

The main benefit my customers see from installing or deploying Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is that they don't have to pay much attention to it because it runs smoothly, meaning they don't babysit it as they should, which while not ideal, indicates how stable the product is.

We've added nodes with Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, and when customers expand their usage, they buy new suites on top of what we previously sold them, allowing new nodes to fit in smoothly without causing issues during additions to the stacks.

I haven't needed to use Dell support recently, but I have in the past, and I feel that one of Dell's strong points is their support; they believe you and usually resolve issues without passing you on to someone else, and I appreciate having one person own my case and build a relationship by following up to check if everything is still working.

I haven't bought anything but Dell in a long time and found myself using other products at customer sites to assist in troubleshooting, and I've always felt that the interfaces on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers are pretty intuitive, which isn't always the case with other products.

My role in using and managing Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers involves specing it, picking it, buying it, ordering it, and installing it, so I manage it end to end until I turn it over to the customers, providing a turnkey service to go with our software that we sell.

We work with a channel partner, distributing under OEM, and while we have a Platinum Dell partner to assist us in quoting and ordering, we maintain relationships with account managers at Dell, who are awesome.

I believe my customers really appreciate the predictability of costs, especially since Dell offers extended warranties that allow them to plan for running their systems for 5 or 6 years while being aware they'll need to purchase new equipment in the future, fitting well with their operations based on expenses.

At cost per feature, the pricing is great.

We've compared Dell's pricing against HP in the past, and I think the pricing is competitive, offering good value.

I would rate Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers as a solution overall a 10, as I'm not even considering other servers and am happy with PowerEdge.

Our use case for the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is that we use them as ESXi hosts in our data centers, and we have approximately three data centers. Its primary use case is ESXi host. We occasionally have a smaller Dell PowerEdge that would be designed for single application-based server. Other than that, that is the main purpose.

The benefit of the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers to our organization is that our entire infrastructure is VMware driven, so we need ESXi hosts. Our entire VMware systems run off of Dell PowerEdge, so we could not run without it.

One of the most valuable features of the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is the redundancy that's built into it: redundant power supplies and redundant RAM modules. It takes care of itself in many cases. 

One thing I appreciate about the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers 17s is the numerous new features.

I appreciate the smaller footprint in terms of its efficiency in the racks, less power consumption, and more modular design for installing other components. Hopefully, the components won't be as expensive as installing extra drives and other components. I'm hoping the cost will be driven down by making them more modular.

They make that very user-friendly and easy. In terms of working with the platform regarding driver compatibility, firmware, and the hypervisor, it is excellent.

The price-to-performance ratio of the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is good, and performance is great. It is comparable and acceptable.

Besides the minor issues, the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers are rock solid and have been for several years now. That is why we continue to use and deploy them.

If I could improve the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers in any way, I would say that buying the components separately at a lower cost is the only thing.

I have been using the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers since the 10th generation.

I have experienced crashes, downtimes, and performance issues with the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. We have had a crash here and there, but it has only been one host and not multiple hosts. We were able to bounce back quickly.

The reliability and stability of the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is good. We run them in our data center in a high-performance scenario which normally takes life off of the hardware, however, we have had no issues. We still have 10th-generation Dell servers running in our data center, which are very old and still running great.

Dell can grow and scale with the needs of my company, as they always have. The Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers cater to the needs of my medium-size business by providing great out-of-box performance from a VMware perspective, scalability, and compatibility with the VMware platform.

If I had to rank Dell support from one to ten, with ten being best and one being worst, I would rank the support as ten. 

Dell support is the best. We have dealt with other support providers. Hands down, Dell is the best in terms of the usability, functionality, and their willingness to help. They help even when a product may go out of warranty, knowing we are loyal customers who will continue to buy their products, they will still do whatever they can to help.

I don't find the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers to be expensive in general when I buy it a la carte. The aftermarket price for RAM modules and CPU cores is expensive. If I want to switch out a CPU or processor inside of my Dell PowerEdge to gain more cores, which increases my performance for VMware, the aftermarket price is so expensive that we typically take that box, retire an older Dell PowerEdge, and then buy a brand new one.

Before installing the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, we had looked at HP and Cisco which also have their own line of virtualized servers. However, considering Dell support and how Dell has been a very good partner with us, we stick with them.

On a scale of one to ten, I rate this solution an eight.

My latest use case for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers has been for virtualization, setting up Proxmox servers, and creating a secure environment by setting up VDI machines.

It has helped avoid purchasing multiple laptops and set everything up on just one server machine and one rack in a data center through consolidation.

The most valuable feature of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is the ease of use, as it allows me to spin up different OSes on it without having to go through a bunch of hoops.

The pricing could be better, as budget is always a huge thing for us. Anytime we can get better pricing, it helps convince the business to adopt it.

For my current use case of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, it has been about three months, but in my current position, I have been using it for about three years.

The stability of the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is good. It is significantly better than some of the 8 or 9-year-old Dell blade servers we were using before.

Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers scale with the growing needs of my company. We are scaling smoothly, as the PowerEdges we are putting in are replacing older ones, and we are getting much better feedback from the business on it.

We were 3,500 employees a month ago. We're now close to 33,000. We just got acquired.

I have not had to contact customer service or technical support for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, as I have been able to manage everything myself.

The blade servers we were using were eight or nine-year-old Dell blade servers.

Deploying the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is easy. We just rack, stack, and then hook it up to the network, and it is good to go. For a single server, it takes maybe an hour or two.

My company has seen a return on investment from using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, as the builds that the build team runs are going approximately 30% faster on the newer PowerEdge than what we were using previously.

I personally think the pricing and licensing of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is actually fairly decent, though the way the business runs leads to sticker shock anytime we give them a quote.

Currently, my team does not use Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for any AI initiatives, but I believe there are other teams in the company that are, and they have their own dedicated PowerEdge servers.
