My latest use case for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers has been for virtualization, setting up Proxmox servers, and creating a secure environment by setting up VDI machines.

It has helped avoid purchasing multiple laptops and set everything up on just one server machine and one rack in a data center through consolidation.

The most valuable feature of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is the ease of use, as it allows me to spin up different OSes on it without having to go through a bunch of hoops.

The pricing could be better, as budget is always a huge thing for us. Anytime we can get better pricing, it helps convince the business to adopt it.

For my current use case of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, it has been about three months, but in my current position, I have been using it for about three years.

The stability of the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is good. It is significantly better than some of the 8 or 9-year-old Dell blade servers we were using before.

Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers scale with the growing needs of my company. We are scaling smoothly, as the PowerEdges we are putting in are replacing older ones, and we are getting much better feedback from the business on it.

We were 3,500 employees a month ago. We're now close to 33,000. We just got acquired.

I have not had to contact customer service or technical support for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, as I have been able to manage everything myself.

The blade servers we were using were eight or nine-year-old Dell blade servers.

Deploying the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is easy. We just rack, stack, and then hook it up to the network, and it is good to go. For a single server, it takes maybe an hour or two.

My company has seen a return on investment from using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, as the builds that the build team runs are going approximately 30% faster on the newer PowerEdge than what we were using previously.

I personally think the pricing and licensing of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is actually fairly decent, though the way the business runs leads to sticker shock anytime we give them a quote.

Currently, my team does not use Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for any AI initiatives, but I believe there are other teams in the company that are, and they have their own dedicated PowerEdge servers.

I would rate Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers a nine out of ten.

We work with Dell PowerEdge products, as well as HP, Fortinet, and various other products. We have been dealing with Dell PowerEdge R-Series. We usually provide Dell PowerEdge R-Series to various types of companies in different verticals, including telecom, value-added services, retail, manufacturing, banking, and education. All these customers we are supplying from Dell PowerEdge R-Series servers. I don't think there is any issue when we are selling these Dell PowerEdge servers to the customers, because they understand the technology, and obviously, the competition is there, but they run very well on their various applications, use cases, workflows, and all. We don't see any kind of issues.

The management features that come with Dell PowerEdge R-Series are the best that customers want, along with the cost and the support from Dell. If I compare current Dell PowerEdge R-Series to earlier product lines, today's R-Series is much more robust and technologically advanced. Compared to HP DL380, it stands out, so I don't see anything that I can suggest for improvement at the moment.

I have given a seven rating when comparing the services with HP. When we talk about Dell, the service support is prompt, but they take much longer to resolve particular issues. That is a concern we see as a Dell partner. Additionally, when we discuss critical services, their response is better, but critical services are sometimes only provided in metro locations, not reaching tier two or tier three cities. This is a problem for organizations where revenue is a constraint; any downtime affects their revenue, making it essential for Dell to extend critical services for R-Series support to those areas.

AI features for self-detection, decision-making, and resolving issues would be great for the future. We have some alert management capabilities with embedded AI, and if it could assist users or technical admins in self-troubleshooting and resolving issues, that would be the best advancement.

When I talk about my customers, the majority use Dell PowerEdge servers to start with 10 or maybe 15 servers. However, as the transactions per second (TPS) and volume increase, they scale it up on a quarterly or annual basis. There is a related issue with virtualization policies, where customers need to provide a minimum number of quad cores. The current global market issues are affecting RAM and SSD pricing, making once affordable Dell PowerEdge R-Series servers substantially more expensive today.

I have been dealing with Dell PowerEdge R-Series for almost 10 plus years.

If I had to rate the technical support by Dell from one to 10, I would choose seven.

The initial setup is seamless and not a problem. Our engineers are certified and capable of integrating various systems, making the integration process very seamless.

For my customers, we only consider Dell PowerEdge R-Series and competitively, HP's DLC series. We don't focus on benchmarks at present, but we can contact Dell for specific requirements if necessary. We don't recommend competitors over Dell; as consultants, we are agnostic to brands, but our first preference is Dell due to several factors. While I have rated Dell's service support a seven due to some issues, everything else regarding the R-Series is sorted in terms of product quality, technology, pricing, and delivery. However, we accommodate specific vendor requests when they insist on a competitor's product, like HP, and suggest testing their applications on our Dell servers first.

We are system integrators and consultants, and we sell to the customers. As a system integration, we don't use Dell PowerEdge products ourselves. We carry one or two odd servers to manage our contact centers or maybe small CRM activities in-house, but otherwise, we don't use any product. We act as consultants for our customers and propose solutions including Dell servers.

We have not used Dell Financial Services for purchasing Dell PowerEdge products to date, nor have we recommended these services to our customers, as most do not inquire about them.

Some customers initially purchased directly from Dell, and while earlier orders might be facilitated through us, the Dell team now generally takes orders directly from customers post-initial relationship.

There are certain global customers who buy directly from Dell due to global contracts, but in our case, it is just one or two customers.

I have provided an overall review rating of 10 for this product.

Dell PowerEdge R-Series use cases are in a very classic area for virtualization.

The functions that I find most valuable are the good remote management of the systems, the simple BIOS, and the corresponding good support in the background.

The remote management and the support stood out to me in particular because it is significantly easier than with our old provider. The support in the background is significantly better and easier for us.

Dell PowerEdge R-Series has improved my company by making it more efficient; less time is needed to roll out a server.

Dell PowerEdge R-Series could be improved in the area of the connection with the OpenManage Mobile App, as it hangs a bit sometimes. It is a bit glitchy sometimes. The OpenManage Mobile App would be the area for improvement.

I have been working in this field for six years already.

I would rate the stability and reliability as very good, and where there were hardware problems, they were quickly resolved with the corresponding support.

I expanded or scaled it up by purchasing additional servers, and it worked smoothly. Everything went smoothly with the scaling process.

I would rate Dell support as an eight out of ten. There are two or three things where maybe first-level support is a bit awkward, and you have to wait until you are in second-level support to get to the solution faster.

Before that, I used another solution. That solution was Supermicro.

I switched because of problems with support and problems with server management; it was very cumbersome management.

I have seen a return on investment through Dell PowerEdge R-Series. In the end, I needed less working time for it and therefore saved time, costs, and money in the end as well, almost from the first use. I started right away.

I think the prices or licensing of Dell PowerEdge R-Series is special, but just a different pricing structure compared to before. It is all fine. You should not let the list price scare you off because there are many discounts available. The list price is just a very rough guideline. That was different before.

I considered other options before going with Dell, and HP was also under discussion. In the end, Dell convinced us as a complete provider and a complete package.

I give Dell PowerEdge R-Series an overall review rating of ten out of ten.

Our primary use case for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is for our primary production for VMware.

The features of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers that I prefer the most include ease of use and being able to update it quickly and simply. Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers support our growth and operational success as they are the backbone of our organization; they run our production site entirely, so we rely on Dell's equipment 100%. They allow us the flexibility to right-size as needed without being a huge organization buying huge amounts of equipment.

I don't think of any additional features that could be included in the next release of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. I don't have any current pain points regarding Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers that I would want them to fix.

I have been using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers for about six years.

From using Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, I have realized that it's reliable, and we don't have any issues with it as long as we keep it up to date with maintenance. Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers are reliable in terms of their stability, with minimal downtime and crashes.

We have expanded usage of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers as our organization grows, easily adding additional servers or different components such as hard drives, and the process is very smooth since it's minimal, plug and play, and it functions properly.

I evaluate the support for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers as good; I have never had any issues with support. I would give Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers a ten because they're always able to answer all the questions we have; they reach a solution no matter how long it takes, and they don't give up. We faced an issue during a data center move with Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, but support helped us for about four hours and figured out that it was one virtual machine causing the problem, maintaining support through shift changes, which was fantastic.

I'm not sure if the organization was using another solution to address similar needs prior to Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers.

I have seen a return on our investment with Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, as they provide stability and efficiency; they allow the organization to do what it is set out to do, and without that, we wouldn't be able to survive.

We did not consider any other solutions before selecting Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers because we're a big Dell shop, and we were pretty loyal to Dell's equipment.

Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers do not play a role in our organization's AI initiatives. I realize some time savings and efficiencies with Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. I am not sure how much time we are saving by having Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers in our environment. 

I can't think of anything more for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers since we set it and forget it; we just keep up with maintenance, and it runs as it should. The deployment of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers worked efficiently as it came ready to go with ESXi already loaded, making it almost plug-and-play. 

I would rate Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers overall as an excellent solution because they are reliable, efficient, and available when we need them. On a scale of 1-10, I rate this solution a 10.

We are running Nutanix on top of Dell PowerEdge R-Series, and we're deploying our product that eventually is going to customer dark site environments.

The feature I like the most about Dell PowerEdge R-Series is its reliability. 

There are no items I want to improve on Dell PowerEdge R-Series; maybe just a discount.

We have been using Dell PowerEdge R-Series for something similar to four years.

Our cluster can be anywhere from for to 30 clusters. It depends on the client. 

The customer service for Dell PowerEdge R-Series is great, however, I cannot say that other companies are better or Dell is better; the customer service is good. 

I would rate the customer service of Dell PowerEdge R-Series an eight out of ten.

Before using Dell PowerEdge R-Series, we used HPE, however, we also are using HPE now as we want to be able to run and make a lot of performance on different hardware. We are running on top of HPE and Dell.

It's a development environment and a product, so I don't think about needing to get the money back for some period; it's a big company.

We are satisfied with what we got from Dell PowerEdge R-Series; there was no need to add it for more functions. I'm not sure what metrics I can provide about the performance of Dell PowerEdge R-Series, however, we are just satisfied with its performance and the compact environment that it provides to us.

The price of Dell PowerEdge R-Series is high, however, somebody needs to pay it.

Dell PowerEdge R-Series does not help us grow the company or grow the work.

I don't remember the model of Dell PowerEdge R-Series, however, it's either 560 or 720. 

There are servers with a lot of GPUs, and there are servers without GPUs; it depends on the use case. The organization is big, but I'm working on different projects, so it depends on what you mean by big. Our clusters on Dell PowerEdge R-Series are going from four to 30 servers, depending on the client.

We are now at the beginning of 2000 when we actually needed some papers and courses for Dell PowerEdge R-Series. All the information is available on the network, so there are no big challenges; you just go to the network, and you find the exact information that you need. It doesn't matter where I find the information; ChatGPT is doing a great job.

Dell PowerEdge R-Series is a great company, and I would rate the overall solution a nine out of ten; it's at the top of the technologies, and I'm very satisfied. I see myself continuing with Dell PowerEdge R-Series.

Our primary use case involves leveraging Dell PowerEdge R-Series racks for long-term on-premises storage and infrastructure workloads.

The biggest benefit I see from using Dell PowerEdge is the ease of use. It is easy and fast to put into production.

It’s not about one specific feature, but the reliability and simplicity of the entire platform. We’ve gained efficiency in maintenance and operations, thanks to a robust system that is exceptionally fast to deploy and handles our workloads without issue.

At this stage, I don't see any necessary improvements for the Dell PowerEdge R-Series. It is a mature and well-complemented solution that handles our current workloads effectively. While I am not a power user myself, the system’s reliability means it consistently delivers without issue. Regarding future features, my current requirements are fully met, and I have received no contrary feedback from my broader technical team.

I have been using Dell PowerEdge for approximately five or six years.

The Dell PowerEdge R-Series is stable; it manages our workloads with such reliability that I practically never need to think about it.

I have used the support and technical customer service for Dell PowerEdge. There is no problem at the support level. I always open a case and I have always received a response in time and answer my questions.

The only issue involves Dell's installation platform. The product registration website requires an excessive amount of information that is often unnecessary for the project. Additionally, the platform can be unreliable and does not always function correctly.

In the public sector, budget allocation is a matter of taxpayer responsibility. While Dell PowerEdge is a high-performance solution, its cost remains a significant challenge for public institutions funded by the state. We operate on fixed five-year cycles where we must balance technical requirements with strict fiscal constraints. This often forces us to make strategic concessions, opting for 'good enough' configurations to ensure we remain responsible stewards of public funds while still maintaining operational stability.

My overall rating for this product is 10.

My main use case for it is a server.

Dell PowerEdge R-Series is rackable, which is the feature I like the most about it.That rackable feature benefits my company at the end of the day because it is easy to ship racks all over the world.Dell PowerEdge R-Series has features that specifically cater to the needs of small-medium organizations, which stands out for Dell versus our competitors. They have a slightly nicer model for managing maintenance of BIOS upgrades and RAID upgrades, and I find it always really easy to get their serial number off the Dell iDRAC code.Dell PowerEdge R-Series has supported growth or operational success for my company because good servers sell good software.

Dell PowerEdge R-Series could be improved; some of the chassis could use a redesign, though I have older chassis, so I should go check their new models.

I have been using Dell PowerEdge R-Series for a year and a half.

I have experienced some downtime or crashes, but we are at scale, and nothing is outside of the average normally.

I see Dell products growing with our future needs. We are horizontally scalable, so it is just the number of machines that we buy.

My thoughts on the customer service and technical support for Dell PowerEdge R-Series are that it is good; 10 would be perfect, so I rate it nine.

The deployment of Dell PowerEdge R-Series has been straightforward.

The return on investment for me specifically is good maintenance or a good lifecycle, which I see as the biggest return on investment when using Dell PowerEdge R-Series.The lifecycle has been expanded because it is useful to use the older hardware that we have decommissioned for new use cases; they do not go immediately into e-waste. We are actually using them in other areas for things that we had not even developed a few years ago, so they have been well past their lifecycle, but it is still beneficial.

My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing has been acceptable, with no complaints.

I have considered switching to other solutions that do the same as Dell PowerEdge R-Series.

Dell PowerEdge R-Series does not play a role in my company's AI initiatives, and I do not see it being able to do that someday as well.I do use an Intel processor with Dell PowerEdge R-Series. The Intel processor handles my workloads well compared to what I expected. I do not have a comment on any specific pieces of the Intel processor, but it does have high compute density and good memory bandwidth.I have evaluated other systems powered by other CPU vendors. I do not have a comment on what stands out with Intel. I do not have a comment on the differences or why I switched to Dell PowerEdge R-Series.I have no advice to offer to other companies that are considering this solution. I give this solution an overall rating of nine.

In my role of using and managing Dell PowerEdge R-Series, I head the IT department, so it is my responsibility to manage everything.

My main use of Dell PowerEdge R-Series is that we are a data-heavy company, so we use it mostly for all of our internal development, management, and testing. We primarily use all of it for these purposes because our solutions are normally in production at the customer's site. We conduct all the development, testing, and everything else at our infrastructure.

The features of Dell PowerEdge R-Series that I value most are stability and the configuration mix that it can provide. Using Dell PowerEdge R-Series servers has helped to reduce unplanned production downtime because the environments have been very stable, which is a significant advantage for us. Running on-premises makes it very difficult to manage all of the complexities, whereas when it is on the cloud, it is much easier. However, with Dell's technology, it has been very easy for us to manage, whether it involves the switching or the servers.

Regarding how Dell PowerEdge R-Series can be improved, we are currently working with Dell on enhancements. The hardware is performing excellently, and we are happy with what we are getting out of the servers. Our biggest challenge right now is delivery timelines, so some improvement in that area would be very helpful.

I have been working in my current field for twenty-two years.

Initially, whenever we had to scale out, we were considering moving to the cloud. Now with the entire system in place using Dell PowerEdge R-Series, we are able to slice and dice hardware to help with development, testing, and production stability testing. All of that has become much easier and more cost-effective for us. Scalability on demand is achieved because the clusters are so large that we can partition them effectively, which is very helpful.

I would evaluate customer service and technical support as wonderful. We have had very good experiences, and I believe that this has been one reason why we have scaled more with Dell, because their support is phenomenal.

Prior to adopting Dell PowerEdge R-Series, we were using AWS and Hetzner, which is a hardware service server provider in the EU. We were mostly on these two platforms, and we are now looking at migrating to Dell PowerEdge R-Series.

I have seen ROI because we were running workloads on the cloud and then on other service providers. However, we have now seen a significant cost advantage running it on Dell servers.

The benefits I have seen from running AI workloads on Dell PowerEdge R-Series servers is that it has been cost-effective, which is one of the biggest advantages we see, and that is the primary reason why we are mostly on this platform now.

Using Dell PowerEdge R-Series servers has affected the overall flexibility of my operations and business positively. Using Dell PowerEdge R-Series servers has helped reduce my total cost of ownership significantly because we were running most of these workloads on AWS, which charged us on an hourly basis. Running it on-premises has reduced our costs significantly and given more compute to the users.

The benefits I have seen from running AI workloads on Dell PowerEdge R-Series servers include the flexibility of the configurations, which has been a major advantage because people are able to run much larger workloads on the cluster rather than doing things on the cloud, which would have cost us considerably more.

The impressions of Dell PowerEdge R-Series that impact our organization's sustainability goals are that we are mostly on Dell APEX, so our footprint is much smaller compared to other options. Dell APEX is a significant advantage for us to maintain our sustainability goals, and recycling and similar matters are mostly taken care of by Dell.

My experience with pricing, cost, setup, and licensing reveals that I think costing was somewhat higher than expected, but we did see reliability and partnership as the primary reasons for moving forward. I would rate this product and experience as nine out of ten.
