After deploying the GoAnywhere MFT solution, we saw its benefits immediately.
What I love about this system, from the administrator's perspective, is that we can view who has logged in, the time of their login, and their location. This feature provides valuable insight into tracking and understanding who is using the system at any given time.
What needs improvement?
The area where I would suggest improvement is on the pricing side. The pricing is not favorable sometimes when we use it for a few people. Even if we purchase additional licenses, no discount is given. If we are adding a license on the system, they should look at that and frame an affordable price for everyone, whereby everyone can access these prices effectively. The deployment of GoAnywhere MFT was easy because we deployed the system on cloud. It took us around a period of 3 days because we had to talk to the expert of GoAnywhere MFT before we negotiated. As we were talking to the expert, the deployment started and we had to go step-by-step.
In terms of maintenance, it requires updates. Sometimes it slows down and requires updates.

I mostly use SFTP and FTPS connectors with GoAnywhere MFT to establish secure connections and integrate them into the workforce for automatic transfers.
What is most valuable?
The automation is the best part of GoAnywhere MFT. Once the workflows are set up, the transfer runs consistently and without any manual effort.
The file transfer and scheduler agents for GoAnywhere MFT run the workflows in the background and handle all the recurring jobs. I can rely on them.
I appreciate the range of connectors provided with GoAnywhere MFT.
What needs improvement?
The UI/UX of GoAnywhere MFT feels somewhat cluttered. Some of the options I need are in a very cluttered space, and I need to search for them frequently. If the interface could be more simplified, I would prefer it much more.

I have never experienced any downtime with GoAnywhere MFT, though I may have seen a few glitches once or twice. After I restarted the software, it was fixed. Nothing was particularly significant, and it was manageable.

Even large corporations can use GoAnywhere MFT. In my corporation, there are eleven to thirty people right now, but for large corporations as well, this solution works nicely and can be scaled.

The initial deployment of GoAnywhere MFT was really smooth. The bigger time investment was in configuring the connections and testing the workflows that we created. Everything else was really smooth.

The pricing of GoAnywhere MFT is fair. I don't have any complaints about it. It feels really reasonable, and for the automation features that they provide, it is nice. It may feel high for basic needs, but the stability makes it all worth it.
What other advice do I have?
I cannot recall using this exact feature of GoAnywhere MFT, but my colleagues might have used them, and I have never received any complaints about any feature of this kind.
There is very minimal maintenance for GoAnywhere MFT from our side, mostly checking the logs, updating the credentials, and adjusting the workflows whenever anything changes. Nothing extraordinary is required for maintenance.
I have not done this with GoAnywhere MFT, but my colleagues have done it quite a few times, two or three times, and I have never heard any complaints about it from them.

Before using GoAnywhere MFT for file transfer, we could only transfer 2GB of data using one of the free tools, but after we started using GoAnywhere, our files are very secure and encrypted because we work on client data, so we can securely share all the database and all the code with our clients.
We started using GoAnywhere MFT four months ago, and our major use case is file transfer because we are working on some tools related to banking and e-commerce, so we use this tool for sending data to our clients.
What is most valuable?
The best feature of GoAnywhere MFT, in my opinion, is file sharing in encrypted form. The encryption feature in GoAnywhere MFT stands out for me because while the initial setup is a bit complicated, the encrypted use cases are excellent compared to other tools, which is why we can use this tool.
I would add that GoAnywhere MFT includes secure transfer protocols such as HTTPS, SFTP, and FTPS and more advanced B2B standards, and the encryption, authentication, and access control are features I appreciate most, along with reporting. GoAnywhere MFT has impacted my organization positively, with security being the most important reason we use this tool.

What is our primary use case?
With the use case for GoAnywhere MFT, I was setting it up to be similar to the use case that I have for Globalscape because with this MFT-based solution, everything is about creating users since it is all tool-based. The product has all the features, including administrations, where we need to create the users. We need to create users' event rules to take the files and upload them to the destination, push the files, and handle reporting and everything. Most of the steps will be the same, except for a couple of things.
What is most valuable?
The best features of GoAnywhere MFT so far, from what I've seen, is that it is a light version. For just the purpose of uploading and pushing the files, transferring the files is the main objective. That's where we use GoAnywhere MFT, because it is a very light version, and the price is definitely less compared to the Globalscape enterprise level. The purpose will be resolved if you want to use more transactions and more file transfers with a secured process.
What needs improvement?
If it is out of the country, with Fortra support in other regions and countries, there will be timing differences. You need to wait until that time because they only work on a US basis, not 24/7. It is just US timing, 8:00 to 5:00. They need to get sorted out to get 24/7 support, so that every country can benefit from the support.

I have been experimenting with GoAnywhere MFT for the past three months since becoming US-based on an H1B visa.
How are customer service and support?
I rate the Fortra support or customer service as a seven because the support was there every time. When we log a ticket, it is immediately assigned to a person who will call us. They will ask about all the pre-steps we need to do, where we create a log with verbose, log the issues, and send them the screenshots of the issues with log files attached. Based upon that, they do the pre-checks on everything, get the solution, and send us an email. If we cannot resolve it straightforwardly, they will schedule a call to assist.

With Globalscape, I built knowledge, not with GoAnywhere MFT. With Globalscape, we got an in-between DMZ gateway to secure. Anything coming from outside traffic is secured because we got a DMZ gateway, which doesn't expose our IP addresses and everything on the security point. It can take any number of connections, so there is no problem with the connections. It integrates with anything.
How was the initial setup?
With both Fortra and GoAnywhere MFT, if you want the GoAnywhere MFT product, we need to buy a license from the company, Fortra. It is straightforward, and we get support on installation and everything. If you want a larger and more complex solution, that's where we use advanced workflow engines to create event rules.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I was comparing differences by exploring other tools as GoAnywhere MFT and IBM Sterling, though not too deeply.
What other advice do I have?
I am still exploring the connectors for services such as Salesforce, SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics, and other connectors. It works for remote purposes because every MFT product has a web transfer client. We can use the HTTPS method to upload the files, or use SFTP tools to upload the files.
The importance of remote agents with GoAnywhere MFT is that everything should be automated, with no manual interaction. We can schedule it at a particular time, and the agent has to trigger. Once the file is automatically generated, it has to be uploaded and transferred to the destination.
Each agent serves a specific purpose - one for file generation, one for encryption, one for uploading files, and one for alerts about successful transfers and failures. Multiple agents act on individual tasks.
Fortra's capabilities for automation have grown significantly. They can be used in any domain, including medical, healthcare, and industrial sectors. The security is impressive with highly enabled components and features, including TLS. Fortra has reduced prices, and their automation has improved significantly.
If it's not complex, GoAnywhere MFT is straightforward for taking files and pushing them in large numbers. The product currently operates as a hub between different environments. Users need to be on a virtual server to install a Windows-based server to upload files.
GoAnywhere MFT has lower capabilities because it has limited features, but it serves its purpose. Some people only want file transfers without notifications or status updates, and considering the budget, it satisfies these requirements.

With GoAnywhere MFT, I am able to move between and explore the use cases from automation to data translation, REST API, SOAP API calls, and integration with third-party applications like ICAP and its sister solution, Clearswift Secure ICAP Gateway and more. Most importantly, I specialize in the project workflow and the automation feature of GoAnywhere MFT.
Most of the connectors that I use within GoAnywhere MFT is the ICAP connector, which connects to a secure internet content adaptation protocol to provide an additional feature of GoAnywhere MFT, which is data leak prevention and antivirus scanning.

End-to-end encryption allows data to be transferred between two servers or between two users. It is far more secure and easy for transferring files.
What needs improvement?
I think GoAnywhere MFT can improve in UI/UX redesigning and better cloud-native deployments. My environment is mostly built on the cloud, so if it were more compatible with the cloud, deployment would be easier for us.
I have it deployed on the cloud, but it does not provide better features on the cloud. I would appreciate enhancements for Kubernetes and serverless compute services.

I use Secure Forms with GoAnywhere MFT for collecting sensitive data from clients, such as KYC documents or onboarding forms. These Secure Forms have helped my business by being customizable and encrypted, which helps us avoid insecure emails and attachments.
I have not yet integrated the GoFast feature to accelerate data transmission with our environment, but I am expecting to in the future.
Between seven to eight people use GoAnywhere MFT. Maintenance such as updates or patching does not fall under our team responsibilities. I can recommend this product to different users and teams as it supports PING, SFTP, and HTTP protocols, which are more secure and easy to use. I gave this product a rating of nine.

GoAnywhere MFT saves us a lot of time. Previously, we were using simple file sharing platforms, such as Google Suite. However, we were concerned about our file security and encryption, so we chose GoAnywhere MFT. GoAnywhere MFT is a great file-specific, file transfer-specific, and encryption-specific solution. It does its work really well. Other software can handle their work adequately, but the file sharing, file encryption, and file security and sharing are perfect in this solution.
What is most valuable?
The best features I appreciate most about the solution are the security and encryption they provide, which is really awesome. The main reason we use GoAnywhere MFT is the file security. I went through their security policies, and these are really great.
What needs improvement?
One area I want to see improvement is their licensing system. They are still using a key system, similar to Windows activation keys from Microsoft. They should improve that with better pricing plans.
Additionally, they can improve their UI. I really feel it is outdated, so improvement in UI would help.

Using the automated features helps me save time. I have tried using the connectors that go with GoAnywhere MFT for Salesforce, SharePoint Online, Dynamics 365, and others. In most cases, I use Google Cloud storage, which is the main case. Secure Forms enable end-users to fill out and submit information through a secure platform that keeps our data protected.
What needs improvement?
I have no major dislikes generally. I just had some challenges when I was starting to use it. Sometimes I could lose files and maybe lose trace of where they had been hidden, but with time, I got used to the system, and it becomes so much easier to use.
Initially, the setup was kind of hard for me. I had to take a long time to adapt to the system.
At my end, I'm okay with everything at the moment. There are no major issues. My major challenges were getting used to it, and once that happened, I have no major challenges now. Every feature is okay currently for me.
For how long have I used the solution?
I started in November and think to get used to the system took me about two and a half months, by January.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is a good solution. It is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I look at scalability, and I say both are good. Stability and scalability are both good.
How are customer service and support?
I had to contact technical support once at the start when I was getting used to it. The support is good. I got feedback on time, and I was able to resolve whatever I wanted. Though I forgot what I was inquiring about, the response was good, and I resolved my issue.
If I were to put the support on a scale from one to ten, I would give them eight out of ten.

The setup was initially kind of hard for me. It took a long time to adapt to the system.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have not used any alternatives to GoAnywhere MFT. At my new job, I had nothing to deal with this previously, so I just got this as a new thing at my new workplace.
What other advice do I have?
I think about the agents, and they are not bad. I mention that I am using Secure Forms whereby I get the end-users to fill out and submit information through the online secure platform that helps us to keep our data secure with no traces and no leaks. Being online-based, it helps us save a lot of time.
I'm somewhat familiar with pricing. I just have a small clue about it since I'm mostly in the IT department, but what I know is the pricing is fair. Though it is always charged with add-ons, the more features you need, the more add-ons you get. It is fairly priced and not so expensive.
I would give this product a rating of eight out of ten.
