Can push configurations to multiple devices at once and has a user-friendly interface
Pros and Cons
  • "I like being able to push configurations to multiple devices. If you have the same configurations for all the branches, it's easier to use ManageEngine OpManager and push configurations at once rather than individually pushing them to each device."
  • "With regard to configurations, however, it would be nice to have more documentation on SNMP configurations. For example, if I want to add a new vendor, it would be great if ManageEngine provided the requirements for that vendor, such as the commands needed."

What is our primary use case?

We use it to monitor the network of our customers. Some have several branches around the country, and all their firewalls and switches are monitored by ManageEngine OpManager. We can see the exact time when a desk branch goes down and goes up again. We can also see if the tunnel interface is down because the customer is using site-to-site VPN.

We use the solution to monitor multiple vendors as well.

What is most valuable?

I like being able to push configurations to multiple devices. If you have the same configurations for all the branches, it's easier to use ManageEngine OpManager and push configurations at once rather than individually pushing them to each device.

The user interface is not complicated; it's easy to use.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been working with this solution for about a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have had issues with OpManager going down. Thus, I would rate OpManager's stability at seven out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

For ManageEngine OpManager's ability to scale, I will give a rating of seven out of ten. The licensing is per node, so if you need to add multiple nodes, you may be limited by your license.

I manage approximately 85 to 100 devices through OPManager.

How are customer service and support?

The solution's technical support staff were helpful when I contacted them. It was easy to contact them, and they responded directly.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is not too complicated.

With regard to configurations, however, it would be nice to have more documentation on SNMP configurations. For example, if I want to add a new vendor, it would be great if ManageEngine provided the requirements for that vendor, such as the commands needed.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

ManageEngine OpManager is cheaper than SolarWinds.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate ManageEngine OpManager at eight out of ten. The solution's technical support is very good, and support staff directly respond to you and contact you.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

A good product that is fairly stable but is too expensive
Pros and Cons
  • "We have found the solution to be stable."
  • "There are certain things that are not possible to do with Op Manager. It's a solution that still needs time to develop."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for network monitoring, that is, firewall routing, switching, and application monitoring.

What is most valuable?

The product itself is very good.

The deployment isn't overly complicated.

We have found the solution to be stable.

What needs improvement?

The pricing is too high, which is why we are considering other options.

There are certain things that are not possible to do with Op Manager. It's a solution that still needs time to develop.

ManageEngine provides things in different layers, so it's not all in the same product.

Technical support could be better.

They need to work on the user-friendliness of the solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. We've found it to be reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable, so long as you have the right licensing.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support isn't as good as it could be and is a service that needs work.

How was the initial setup?

The solution is neither easy nor hard to set up. I'm pretty neutral on the process of implementation. It depends on the customer and the scope.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost of the solution is too high.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Due to the price of the solution, we're looking into what else might be available.

We're considering nGeniusONE for a customer.

What other advice do I have?

I am a partner, cybersecurity partner, in Sri Lanka.

I'd rate the solution at a six out of ten. Our issue is mainly with pricing. Technical support also should be improved. More than that, the product has to be feasible in order for me to take it to the customer. I have a couple of potential customers who are truly looking for a different product than this. It just isn't going to give them what they need.

That said, I would recommend OpManager as there are other products I have seen that are not even up to the standard of OpManager.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
