I am more on the sales side of the business, so I do not use it that much. However, companies with more than fifty employees already need such a tool, especially if they have more than twenty-five clients and a spread-out business.
KACE Asset Management Appliance enhances asset usability with popular package management and inventory features, ideal for companies that lack systems. The tool provides seamless Windows upgrades, remote control, and deployment, making it essential for businesses managing multiple devices.

| Director, Middle East, East India & SAARC at DMX Technologies | 4.5 | I find Quest KACE excellent for asset management and patching, praising its usability, stability, and support. I am more on the sales side of the business, so I do not use it that much. However, companies with more than fifty employees already need such a tool, especially if they have more than twenty-five clients and a spread-out business.
Remote control and massive deployment for fixing bugs and issues on multiple computers and systems at once are highly valued. The ability to work on printers and everything can be done remotely, which enhances functionality. The automated compliance reporting feature is also appreciated by our customers.
It seems that it is a bit difficult to learn and purchase. The requirement for employees to be certified before purchasing is understandable yet can be a hurdle. A focus on more simplicity and user-friendly features would be beneficial.
More training deals, up-to-date articles, and improved documentation would help users navigate the solution more intuitively.
Everything Appliance-wise was always running smoothly, probably also thanks to the software.
They have top-notch technical support. You might need to wait a day or two, however, there is also an option to buy 24/7 support for an additional fee. I would recommend this. When there is an issue, waiting is not ideal.
Positive
I did not use anything similar before Quest KACE. While Microsoft tools can be similar, I did not work with anything that builds on top of Microsoft for enhanced efficiency.
They are maybe on the higher end, however, their solutions suit bigger companies well. Building a solution out of smaller packages could end up being more expensive. Their pricing corresponds to the value provided.
I would recommend Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance to companies having more than 50 employees, or those with their own data center or cloud services and internal network administration. From SMEs to enterprise-level companies, it has value.
I would give them an eight out of ten.
Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance could improve areas related to the management of updates, especially concerning new operating systems like Windows 11 and the deployment of applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
The lack of images for system deployments is challenging, particularly with the significant number of servers involved in the deployment process.
We are still determining whether to transition to Windows 11 due to uncertainty about its quality. However, adaptation will likely become necessary within the next one or two years. Thus, we are exploring Microsoft Intune as a potential substitute for Quest KACE for better license management, asset management, and its impact on the license cycle for agents in the management system.
They could enable new methodologies for Microsoft deployment. Also, there could be an MDM feature to manage smartphones and mobile devices.
The platform offers efficient stability.
The product is expensive.
We are exploring Intune for a new software deployment methodology.
I rate Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance an eight out of ten. It works well with Linux environments.
Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance can improve by incorporating AI and machine learning into the solution.
I have been using Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance for approximately five years.
Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance is highly stable.
We are not a very large company, we have not needed to test the scalability of the solution. However, we have some customers who are using it and they have approximately 50,000 endpoints and it is working well.
We have a support team here in India that has been helpful. We have not reached out to the global support for Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance.
I rate the support from Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance a five out of five.
Positive
We have used other solutions in the past but found Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance was best suited to our requirements.
The initial setup of Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance is somewhat complicated. However, if you take the vendor services, they help you out a lot.
Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance provides two remote desktop licenses which are helpful. The price of the solution is high, it would be beneficial if it was more flexible and less expensive.
I rate the price of Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance a two out of five.
We have one or two people in our organization supporting the solution.
I recommend this solution to others.
I rate Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance a nine out of ten.
We use this solution for inventory package deployment. Additionally, we deploy this solution on the private cloud.
The inventory in Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance is very valuable.
We have been using this product for one year.
The solution is stable.
The solution is scalable. We currently don't have any issues with scalability.
We haven't used customer service and support before so I cannot speak to it.
The initial setup was burdensome for us because we manually deployed it.
We implemented this solution through a third party. Our company has local companies managing people across different countries for deployment.
I rate this solution a seven out of ten.

We use Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance for pushing any non-Windows based patches such as Adobe patches, installing new software or an approved set of software, or upgrading to a new release of Windows. We are using its latest version, which they have released recently.
We utilize the package management feature the most. We also use it for getting the inventory. Companies like us don't have an inventory or asset management system per se. A lot of companies, for instance, use SCCM as their asset management tool. We are using Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance for asset management, which is a good feature.
The feature that I really like is to be able to upgrade to the Windows management systems or Windows version. It is very seamless, and I have found it fairly good.
Sometimes, it feels like the inventory it takes is not 100% accurate. I would say it is correct 90% of the time. We have had some issues. So, we have to rely on some factors of inconsistency in the data.
I have been using this solution for the last six years.
They were fine. It was not super support or tech job. They were neither great nor bad.
The initial setup was not very difficult.
When we got this solution, I spoke to the Quest team, and they said that they can help. We got some support from them.
It is less expensive as compared to SCCM.
I would suggest getting support for installing it.
I would rate Quest KACE Asset Management Appliance a five out of ten. It is not the best solution. It is not great, it is not bad.
We use the solution for IT service desk management and asset management.
The first thing I don't like about KACE is that it needs to have a proper service desk. The categories and the command section do not reflect the users and the permanent users porting commands on updating. There is an issue and delay in loading the commands.
We also want a proper structure for infrastructure management. Also, the AI chatbot and user template options are missing.
The solution is not stable and I rate the stability a three out of ten.
The tool is not scalable and I rate it five out of ten.
The initial setup is not very easy. I rate it four point five out of five.
I would rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten.
I would rate the overall product a six out of ten.
There are multiple types of desktops and laptops that are distributed asset management that we're using to consolidate all the data in a single tool portal. We are also using it to deploy the Windows patches.
Feature-wise, I think it's more to do with the usability. It's pretty simple and it's got a very low learning curve, so that helps a lot. Feature-wise, things work pretty well as it's provided a lot of information available on the guides and the manuals and things work as per the description.
The remote desktop tool they are using needs improvement. They have integrated some third-party tools for remote desktop connections but that is a bit complicated. That can be further simplified. Maybe they can have something of their own in the future.
I have been using Quest KACE for two and a half years.
It's very stable. It's been working without any challenges for the last two and a half years.
It is scalable. I have a friend in that company, they're using it for around 35,000 endpoints. It's pretty scalable.
In two and a half years I have contacted support twice and it was duly handled. Their support is good.
Previously using open source tool but wanted to switch for better support
The initial setup was simple.
We did a total count of 1,000 desktops. It was done within a couple of weeks.
We got some backing help from the Quest team. It was telephonic support.
It requires very basic maintenance from our side. We had logged one or two support tickets with the vendor, but we immediately got the information that was required; more of configuration help rather than an issue.
It has multiple additional costs. We use the Asset and Patch Management which has a separate license.
We evaluated multiple tools that I remember. Kaseya, Sapphire, and the third one was Symphony SUMMIT.
Kaseya and Sapphire were actually much more cost-effective compared to KACE, but then the solution capability and functionality, we found KACE was much better, much more simpler, and even more stable. Symphony SUMMIT was a decent solution, but again, all things combined in terms of usability, cost, and everything, the support from the team, we found KACE was better.
Overall, KACE is better. If you consider cost, support, and stability, and usability, then it's better. It's slightly on the costlier side, but it's much more stable than most of the other solutions.
They have come up with a mobile app interface that I would like to know more about. I attended some of their webinars where they were talking about their AI chatbots and a lot of automation around AI. Those are certain things that I would like to see in the product.
I would definitely recommend it but I would also suggest evaluating other solutions because the difference becomes much clearer. On the outset, it might not be very clear what the advantages are. But once you have evaluated two, three other tools, you will obviously see the advantages of KACE.
It's good to have backend technical support also. Go for the technical support so that in case anything happens, the KACE team is very friendly and they respond on time. It gives you that added cushion that if anything goes wrong, you have somebody to help.
I would rate Quest KACE a nine out of ten.
