| Author info | Rating | Review Summary |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud Solution Architect at a tech services company with 201-500 employees | 4.5 | I've used Sophos Mobile for five years, valuing its strong security and management features. While setup and third-party integration could improve, overall it enhances mobile protection, especially through Intercept X and useful tools like remote wipe and containerization. |
| Manager IT Solutions Delivery at AL HIBA INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES | 3.0 | I recommend Sophos Mobile for clients like construction and trading companies due to its effective features and strong support. While its security management and initial setup need improvement, its integration is smoother compared to a decade ago. |
| Deputy Manager, Ict at Ushuru | 4.0 | I use Sophos Mobile to manage corporate mobile devices effectively, offering features like device tracking, file security, and antivirus management. However, it lacks a VPN component, which necessitates using Sophos endpoint, and licensing could be improved. |
| IT Architect, IT Security Expert, Owner at avilura uab | 3.5 | We provide mobile security and device management services using Sophos Mobile, especially valuing its compliance and app installation features. However, support and interface usability need improvement. We stick with Sophos for its pioneering cloud management on Microsoft Azure. |
| Operations Technical Lead at IT Supporters | 4.0 | I use Sophos Mobile alongside other products for enterprise management and mobile device management, focusing on server and endpoint integration. Its strong device security policies and management capabilities are valuable, but its troubleshooting needs improvement. |
| CEO at iSource GmbH | 4.0 | Sophos Mobile offers central administration and secure VPN connection for mobile devices. Although Android integration works well, iOS poses challenges, especially since our customers predominantly use iPhones. Its security features assist with ISO 27001 certification, though improvement in inventory management is needed. |
| Technical Presale Engineer at a tech services company with 51-200 employees | 4.0 | I use Sophos Mobile primarily for secure email connections and device management, valuing its compliance settings. However, I believe the admin interface needs improvement. Although I have considered Hexnode as a competitor, Sophos Mobile remains my choice. |
| IT Administrator at JNCI | 4.0 | Sophos Mobile could improve by implementing a two-way notification system for vulnerabilities, notifying both end users and administrators. Additionally, having an exportable dashboard summarizing usage, threats, and patch coverage would simplify reporting for management and auditors. |
| IT Manager at Atlas Fertilizer Corporation | 4.5 | Sophos Mobile allows us to manage devices easily through cloud technology, offering benefits like data protection for lost phones and cost efficiency. I haven't faced service issues, and Sophos was chosen for its leadership in budget and uptime. |
| Managing Director at Graftronics Pvt Ltd | 3.5 | I use Sophos Mobile in conjunction with their other products for centralized device management. I value its efficient threat detection, although it needs better protection against social media hacks. Previously, I used Cyberarm, now focusing mostly on Sophos. |

My use case for Sophos Mobile is for protection and management including mobile protection and management.
I have found the Intercept X capabilities of the security part of Sophos Mobile most valuable.
The main benefit from Sophos Mobile is that it improves security posture, and it also provides fantastic management and control along with web application control capabilities on mobile, features that would usually be on a firewall at the perimeter of the business or the organization, allowing me to restrict access to malicious websites or compromised applications.
An area I can suggest for improvement in Sophos Mobile is in the area of management; while it has been great so far, integration with more third-party solutions would also be a great improvement.
Regarding functionality, I think an area Sophos Mobile can actually improve is by infusing more AI-integrated services and solutions into the product.
The setup process for Sophos Mobile is not very cumbersome; to set it up, I just send the setup email link to the user, but the user still has some activities to carry out, and that may be another area of improvement if Sophos can enable the entire configuration possible from the management console without users having to perform activities.
I have been working with Sophos Mobile for five years.
I rate the technical support from Sophos as 9.5.
Positive
I would rate the price as a seven, where 10 is a low price and 1 is a high price.
I have experience with quite a number of mobile solutions including Microsoft.
The main competitor for Sophos Mobile is Microsoft, particularly Microsoft MDM.
When comparing Microsoft MDM with Sophos Mobile, I find that for management, Microsoft may be better, but when it comes to security, Sophos Mobile is better.
I still work with Sophos.
I still work with almost all the products from Sophos, from Firewall to endpoint, encryption to mobile, to MDM.
I do use some products such as Sophos Mobile and Sophos EPP Suite.
I am currently using the advanced version of Sophos Mobile.
The Remote Configuration in Sophos Mobile is useful for management and device management because in case of any theft, I can actually initiate a remote wipe, configure different policies, and restrictions to meet some compliance requirements.
The centralized platform from Sophos Mobile works with iOS and Android; I think majorly those two operating systems.
It works well with both iOS and Android; however, there are more features on the Android than on the iOS.
The containerization approach for isolating corporate content in Sophos Mobile is great and it works best to meet BYOD requirements where devices are not owned by the organization, enabling me to configure or have a secure space on the devices that houses all corporate-related information inside a container.
I have experience with the Self-Service Portal in Sophos Mobile.
My feedback is that it is a very great one because it reduces the burdens on the administrator of an organization, enabling each employee to take advantage of this to service themselves; for instance, during this holiday, if a user needs to reset a password or carry out basic troubleshooting, they do not have to wait for the administrator.
I would rate this review 9.0 overall.
We are system integrators and we typically recommend Sophos Mobile for our clients, including construction, trading companies, and schools. We base our recommendations on clients' specific needs, promote different brands, and offer mobile security solutions.
Sophos Mobile offers features like cash mode and safe mode, and allows for central management, which I find effective for device security, though it depends on the clients' needs and the types of mobile devices used.
The integration of the product is easier these days compared to ten years ago. The support provided by Sophos is notably good, and they care for their partners.
Sophos has good customer support, and that is crucial for sustaining business relationships.
There is room for improvement in Sophos Mobile's security management for endpoint security.
Additionally, the initial setup has complications, especially when registering products. The company should work on making this process smoother and also focus on making the quote process simpler.
We have different products, and management is involved, so it depends on third-party unique features. We recommend these products based on the requirements of our clients.
Sophos is stable, and the product works well. In the past, integrating products was more challenging than it is nowadays. Sophos Mobile is not that much in terms of security, however, it is manageable.
Sophos provides really good support. In terms of responsiveness, they handle the calls immediately and efficiently, though some other products might make us wait.
Neutral
I previously worked with ManageEngine. The main differences include pricing, where ManageEngine offers trials for up to 25 users, which helps clients get familiarized with it before moving to production.
The registration of the product during the initial setup has some issues, and it's not easy to get the quote. It's a bit cumbersome.
The pricing of Sophos Mobile is high compared to the market, specifically 40% higher. Sophos often requires a three-year subscription to offer lesser pricing. The costs and potential trials need to be considered in pricing.
Aside from Sophos Mobile, I am also trying another product called Untangle software. I compare various products like Fortinet, Sophos, and SonicWall for their pros and cons based on client needs. We also deal with Zoho, however, we are not directly partners with Zoho for ManageEngine.
I rate Sophos Mobile six out of ten.
Although pricing is a significant factor, clients will pay if the product fulfills their requirements. Support could be improved, particularly its competitive pricing and ease of getting quotes.
For Sophos, it is important to focus on security management.
I use Sophos Mobile to manage mobile devices for corporations, companies, and organizations. It allows me to manage all company mobile devices easily. If a device gets lost, I am able to lock that device or block access to any files on it.
Sophos Mobile offers several valuable features, such as device tracking, allowing me to know where a device is located. It also provides file security through a feature called the file lock, which is useful in case of security issues.
Additionally, I can manage the antivirus on mobile devices to ensure they are not infected. Sophos Mobile also offers phishing management.
I noticed that the VPN aspect is not included in Sophos Mobile. To acquire a VPN for mobile, I have to subscribe to Sophos endpoint, which only works on computers. It would be beneficial to have the VPN feature incorporated into Sophos Mobile, even if it requires separate payment. Licensing should also be improved.
I have been using Sophos Mobile since 2019.
Deploying the solution is very simple and can be done in less than one hour. Configuring on a mobile device is straightforward, as I just send a link to users. It should take about ten minutes for a user to complete the configuration.
In terms of pricing, Sophos Mobile is favorable compared to other mobile device security solutions. It is very affordable, and I rate the pricing at eight out of ten.
I rate the overall solution for Sophos Mobile at eight out of ten.

Neutral

We are working with Sophos and other products like Managed Engine, focusing on enterprise management and mobile device management solutions. We primarily use Sophos for server or endpoints. We have integrated it as a same solution.
We have no specific threats in mobile because we are working as management. The integration of Sophos Mobile and other tools enhances the security posture of our customers.
The most effective features for device security are the policy and management capabilities. Sophos Mobile has been rated nine out of ten for security and performance.
The area for improvement in Sophos Mobile is troubleshooting. They should be better at addressing issues more effectively.
I have no experience with giving inspections on a mobile device.
The solution is scalable. Our customer has over 500 mobile devices. We recommend it for both small and medium-sized enterprises.
I will not give a specific rating because I have no issue with Sophos Mobile and have not contacted their support.
Positive
Before Sophos Mobile, I did not work with anything similar.
The initial setup of Sophos Mobile is very easy and straightforward.
The product is affordable, and there is no issue with its purchase for small companies.
I generally recommend Sophos Mobile for enterprise management purposes.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.
Sophos Mobile provides central administration and VPN connection for mobile devices. We can access Microsoft Outlook without having any interface to the internet. Additionally, if some customer loses a device, we can delete the complete data.
We encounter issues while working with iOS. We additionally have MacBook to manage the data. For Android, it works much better. But, as per our customer's company's standard policies, they allow their employees to use only iPhones. So, we have ownership of the data of all their devices.
It would be helpful if they provided an inventory system similar to Tanium. At present, we use GLPI for the same. It is an open-source system, but we have to pay for its maintenance.
It is a stable system. We have never encountered difficulties using it for several years.
We have 400 Sophos Mobile users, including customers. It is a scalable platform. Our whole team is capable of managing the product. Although, we have two executives designated to administer the system.
The initial setup process is straightforward and fast. We have to define the rules similar to other systems. It takes a maximum of 20 minutes to configure and install for one smartphone.
We are fine with the security provided by the product compared to other suppliers. Although, we are also sure one can’t reach 100% security. Most importantly, Sophos Mobile helps us with ISO 27001 certification.
The product is not suitable for smaller companies because its price is high. However, it is not as expensive as Tanium. We paid for 250 devices, including laptops and PCs, for two years. One has to pay approximately €6 per device. The three-year contract includes maintenance and support services.
I rate the product an eight out of ten.

Positive
End users must know their devices are vulnerable rather than relying on administrators to patch them. A two-way notification system should alert both the engineer and the administrator about vulnerabilities. Sometimes, administrators manage many devices and might overlook issues, so having end users also receive notifications can help ensure that vulnerabilities are addressed more promptly.
It would be helpful to have a dashboard that can be quickly exported to Excel or PDF. This dashboard should summarize activities, including usage, internet usage, vulnerabilities, threats, and patch coverage. The goal is to simplify reporting for administrators so they don’t have to sort and pick data manually. This makes it easier for management and auditors to review and assess the organization's status efficiently.
I have been using Sophos Mobile for two years.
The product is stable.
I rate the solution’s stability an eight out of ten.
It is scalable. The situation is challenging for SMEs, as they often want to remain loyal to their service providers but struggle with scaling due to high costs. It would be helpful for providers to offer buyback options or discounts for SMEs to support their growth and make scaling more manageable.
I rate the solution’s scalability as four out of ten.
The initial setup is not complex. It aligns well with client needs and takes less than thirty minutes. This includes configuring from the initial stages, such as setting up from Linux to GRIM mode. Clients often request additional features or changes, which can extend the setup time.
I rate the product’s pricing a six out of ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive.
The impact of currency fluctuations is significant. In regions where the local currency is weak against the dollar, the cost of licensing and other expenses increases when the currency value drops. Manufacturers should consider adjusting their pricing strategies for the African market to account for these challenges. Keeping prices stable or more affordable could ease the financial burden on businesses in these regions.
I recommend the solution. If the client requests something else, I'll always pitch and stuff.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

For security, we haven't had any known security issues or attacks because we've been protected by Sophos.
We can easily manage the devices because it's already in the cloud. For example, if any phone that belongs to the company is lost, we can easily erase the data.
Other features that I find most appealing:
I have not faced any service issues. The known vulnerabilities have already been patched.
So, I've heard that the application might have issues with other software.
I have been using it for three years now.
It is used across all the departments in my company.
For support, we have a dedicated team from our vendor. We don't directly engage with Sophos.
Positive
My previous company used a different solution. My current company had already chosen Sophos. Based on our research, and considering budget and uptime, they are one of the leaders in the industry.
Sophos is very simple and direct to the point. I cannot recall any challenges with the deployment process.
Deployment time:
For a single device, it only takes two to three minutes, it also depends on the connectivity. But with a reliable connection, it takes only two to three minutes to install the software. Once installed, as long as there is an internet connection, the device can be discovered in our cloud deployment.
Our network support team works on Sophos. I believe we have integrated it into our Active Directory.
Deployment model: The subscription itself, Sophos Central, is already cloud-based. It's software as a service, directly from Sophos.
I use the free version included in our subscription. There's another license with more features, and it's not really expensive compared to others.
So, it was a fairly priced product. I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten.
Based on our current needs, we don't need to buy any extra services from Sophos.
Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten. I would recommend it to other users.

We are doing Sophos endpoints, Sophos access points, Sophos Mobile, Sophos Firewall, and Safeguard. We build solutions with all these products to have a centralized dashboard on the cloud console for managing all these devices.
Sophos Mobile is very effective in providing alerts for network spikes. It offers free access to customers, which gives visibility to users and helps in recommending the solution to others. It also facilitates security by allowing the security hardware to communicate, which includes the firewall, access points, and endpoint security.
Sophos Mobile is efficient in threat detection. It has detected threats while browsing on Chrome, and is lighter compared to other security applications like McAfee. Its threat protection is something I appreciate greatly.
The most important area for improvement is the mobile threat detection, especially regarding Instagram and Facebook hacks. There's a need for better protection against hackers trying to access key accounts such as bank accounts.
I have been familiar with Sophos Mobile for more than three to four years.
The solution is stable overall.
Before Sophos, I was working with Cyberarm, which was acquired by Sophos. We predominantly focus on Sophos now, with ten percent of business spread between SonicWall and Fortinet.
The product is free.
I recommend everybody, including all users, to use Sophos Mobile, as it helps in protecting their devices. The product is something I keep on recommending to users.
I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.
