I am an integrator and I provide solutions for our customers.

This solution is used for the backup and recovery of our customer's data.

We like the use of the tasks.

The documentation is good.

The implementation process could be simplified to make it quicker.

I was certified with NetBackup in 2008. There was a bit of a break in using backup solutions but I recently started using it again for our customer who is using it. I have approximately two years of experience.

We are working with NetBackup 9.1.

Veritas NetBackup is stable. We have not experienced any bugs or glitches with this solution.

At this moment, we are satisfied with it.

The scalability is impressive. Our clients are mostly enterprise businesses.

At this time, we have no plans to increase our usage or move to another solution. We recently implemented this product and we are satisfied with the tasks it performs.

If we have any issues, we contact technical support in Russia. They provide us with a resolution.

We are very satisfied with the technical support.

The initial setup is not complex. We implement from the Veritas site and we use the knowledge base.

It can take several months to implement this solution. We had to prepare the architecture, the guides, and documentation for several data centers. It was not a fast implementation.

Our license is capacity-based.

I would rate Veritas NetBackup a nine out of ten.

We use it for general backup on our servers. 

The most valuable features are: 

• The VMware VADP backups
• The support for data domains

In terms of improvement, it's very difficult to make it work with multiple business units. Its security model is too constricted.

I have been using Veritas Backup for eight years. 

One of the best features is the performance is very good.

Their technical support is average. Not perfect and not bad. 

The initial setup was complex. The networking was very complex; there are a lot of firewall ports.

It takes a few days to deploy and we do it with somebody in-house. 

Both our side and the vendor's side are required for maintenance. 

I think it's probably a solution that has passed its prime. There are probably better ones out there.

I would rate it a seven out of ten.  

The tool fully integrates with the other products.

The tool provides recovery. The support for their legacy software is very good.

The pricing could be improved.

I have been using Veritas NetBackup for five years.

The product is stable.

The tool is easy to scale.

We need to wait until the other support center is open. We have to stay outside the working hours to get a support.

The most valuable feature of cloud integration is the ability to send data outside of your location. This can be achieved by integrating cloud tier options or other object storage solutions.

The solution is not easy to use. You need to train yourself step by step because it is complex, but it is a good solution. Its pricing could be cheaper.

Veritas NetBackup is not scalable due to various limitations and restrictions, especially concerning scaling the index infrastructure, such as database limitations.

Global support is not enough to solve any problem. Local teams are ready to solve the problem. 

Setting up Veritas NetBackup is not straightforward. Many components must be implemented, such as master servers, media servers, OSTs etc. If you want to use Veritas NetBackup according to best practices, it's advisable to seek professional services.
