| Author info | Rating | Review Summary |
|---|---|---|
| Key Account Manager at Cronon GmbH | 3.5 | I am part of an Infor partner company in Germany, primarily using Infor dEPM for finance solutions. The platform's pre-prepared features simplify customization and deployment, though integration with other software is challenging. Our customers see positive ROI with its use. |
| Director at Corporate Financial Management Systems | 4.0 | We use Infor dEPM primarily in the housing and hospitality sectors for comprehensive reporting, budgeting, and planning. Its end-user reporting excels, but the recent cloud integration necessitates more programming skills, requiring extra assistance, a notable shift for our finance team. |
| Head of Controlling, Planning and DWH at a insurance company with 201-500 employees | 3.0 | As a 20-year user, I value the Excel integration, though reporting and usability are weak. Good support helps, but 32-bit Excel incompatibility with Office 365 is forcing me to explore alternatives, resulting in my 6/10 rating. |
| Senior EPM/BI Consultant at iOCO Software Distribution Ltd | 4.0 | As a consulting firm, we utilize Infor dEPM primarily as a business intelligence tool for our clients, focusing on management reporting. Its planning capability is valuable, but the initial setup and technical support require improvement. |
| Application Manager at a tech services company with 201-500 employees | 4.5 | I use Infor dEPM for analytics and reporting dashboards, primarily for top management decisions. Its most valuable feature is the user-friendly reporting tool, although it is quite expensive. We didn't consider any other solutions or cloud providers. |
| BI Analyst at a non-tech company with 51-200 employees | 3.5 | I found Infor PM clunky and hard to use, despite its write-back feature. Scalability and support were poor. Though licenses are cheap, implementation and maintenance are costly. We ultimately switched to Tableau, retaining Infor PM only for specific functionality. |
| Senior Payroll Officer at a financial services firm with 501-1,000 employees | 5.0 | I found this payroll solution secure, stable, and scalable with excellent Excel/VB front-end and ad-hoc reporting. Setup was smooth, though server start-up issues occasionally occurred. Technical support was excellent. |
| Infor PM Consultant with 51-200 employees | 4.0 | I find Infor BI excellent for planning and forecasting, simplifying OLAP cube creation. It replaced error-prone Excel, improving data consolidation and allowing more planning iterations. Setup is straightforward, and customer service is very good. |
| Director at a tech services company with 51-200 employees | 4.0 | I found this solution easy to use, functional, and scalable, enabling self-service reporting and streamlined budgeting. Despite needing improvements in mobile and dashboards, it delivered an 80% ROI within two to three years. |
| SunSystems Administrator at a energy/utilities company with 51-200 employees | 4.5 | <p>As a consultant, I find Infor PM Q&A, integrated with SunSystems, offers excellent, flexible reporting capabilities. It's easy to use, improves controls, and I experienced good customer service. A web-based version would be an improvement.</p> |

Our company is a partner of Infor in Germany. We mainly use Infor DEPM for finance solutions.
Infor DEPM has features that are well-prepared by Infor. I do not need to have my own tools; I only need to customize many elements. This makes it easier to install and work with. With the prepared solutions in DEPM, I don't require much time to deliver.
There are questions about how Infor DEPM can be used with other solutions and the difficulties in connecting it with other software solutions. Integration is a concern.
I have experience with Infor DEPM for about a year, but I am not a developer for it.
I would rate the stability of the solution as nine out of ten.
The solution is pretty scalable.
The initial setup is easy. It's simple to build new solutions with the prepared solutions in DEPM.
All our customers have experienced a return on investment, as they have been included on the list of calls.
Infor DEPM is expensive.
I recommend Infor DEPM.
Overall, I would rate the solution seven out of ten.

We have a significant number of customers in the housing and hospitality industries. Infor dEPM helps us with end-to-end management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, planning, re-planning, and analytical reporting.
Infor dEPM's got the best end-user reporting solution that keeps us motivated and moving forward with this solution.
There's always room for improvement. Especially when it comes to scaling and cloud integration. The latest version has been cloud-enabled, but it requires a deeper understanding of programming skills compared to the previous versions, which were more user-friendly and allowed end-to-end development.
So, based on our current experience, there is a paradigm shift. Previously, I could handle everything myself as a finance user developer, but now I require programmers' assistance to deliver the desired outcomes. This shift has been significant for me.
I have been using it for a longer period of time. It has been in use for over 25 years. So, I've been using it since 1998.
In terms of stability, we have experienced very few issues with the software itself. So I would rate the stability of the solution around nine out of ten.
There's always room for improvement. If there's a feature that doesn't work as expected, we can provide feedback, and they address it accordingly.
From a cloud perspective, I would rate the scalability of Infor dEPM around eight or nine. The multi-tenant cloud scales as expected, and there's always room for improvement. Additional processing power and memory are available as you scale, depending on your licensing agreement.
Initially, the setup and configuration are similar to Jedox, if that's what you're familiar with in terms of products. We follow a well-defined plan for each of our custom-built models. It's important to plan the development process based on understanding the end-user requirements and deliverables. By planning backward, we can ensure better design and easier model delivery.
It's deployed on AWS, specifically the private cloud. They also offer a multi-tenant cloud solution, but there's a distinct on-premise version as well. The on-premise version provides more end-user insight and caters to different needs.
The pricing is competitive. I would say it falls within a competitive range. With the shift towards SaaS-type pricing, it remains competitive in the market.
If you purchase the cloud version, it includes a certain number of named users. These users can all be developers, and there are no additional fees from that perspective. As for the on-premise version, I'm not entirely sure as I'm a new on-premise customer. There might be a maintenance contract, but I don't think there are any extra fees beyond that.
Overall, I would rate Infor dEPM an eight on a scale from one to ten. It has improved significantly, especially with version twelve. It used to be a perfect ten, but now it stands at a solid eight, which is still quite good.
We primarily use the solution for financial purposes.
The Excel integration is great. You can get the data directly from the database with Excel formulas.
There's some missing dynamic changing when you're not using the Excel formula yet you're creating a report. If you want to use it within one hierarchy only two or three elements, that's not possible. We'd like to see improvement in the reporting feature.
The usability could be better. For example, we'd like to see better planning features for budgeting.
We've used the solution for 20 years. It's not that easy to change BI tools - especially after 20 years.
With the performance, we're good, however, this is maybe the interaction with the Excel 32-bit version. This is always the question - is Excel the bottleneck or is it Infor or our infrastructure? We don't know.
The solution is scalable.
We have about 20 people on the solution.
We've dealt with technical support and we are mostly pleased with the level of service on offer. They're pretty responsive and knowledgeable about their products.
Positive
It was 20 years ago in regards to the initial setup. As I recall, it's not that easy. That's why we were hesitating. We have another mother company now and we should have used the corporate solution, however, we hesitated to move to the corporate solution. It's a complicated situation to move and integrate to a different solution in that environment.
I'm not sure of the exact cost, however, it's my understanding that the annual fee for us is about 12,000 euros. We bought the license and this is the maintenance fee.
I've been looking at different solutions due to the new formulas and the Office 365 upgrade. They are too long, too complicated, and too difficult to read as you have in the formula all the hierarchies to the lowest level in every formula.
I was at an event some years ago and I saw Jedox, which was a spinoff from the former MSI Alea and this product is quite similar to Infor as TM1 is as well. These are well similar products with Excel integration. From what I've seen, it looked quite good, and maybe the easiest way for us to change is rather than to stay with Infor.
It's hard to change solutions, especially after 20 years. For example, we have lots of reports, and regulatory reports which are all linked with these Excel forms. That's 20 years of reports. As authorities don't change that quickly, these are steady reports. If we change the solution, we have to go through all the reports and change the figure. It's additional work without lots of improvement. However, the reason why I was looking at a different solution was that the version we use, we can only have a 32-bit version of Excel integrated. The company now wants to move to Office 365, which is a 64-bit solution. Then, even with Infor, we have to change all the formulas as they are not compatible anymore.
I'd rate the solution six out of ten.

We are a consulting firm that sells the solution to our clients.
Many of our clients prefer to avoid the strict budgeting and planning process. As a result, we often utilize the solution as a business intelligence tool. We customize Infor dEPM to enable our clients to utilize it primarily for management reporting, rather than for budgeting and planning purposes.
The planning capability is the most valuable feature.
The initial setup from a user perspective can be cumbersome and has room for improvement.
The technical support has room for improvement.
I have been using the solution for five years.
Most of the time, the technical support team does not provide us with the correct resolution, and as a result, we are compelled to resolve the issues on our own.
Neutral
The initial setup is not difficult, and I believe it's manageable. However, from a user's perspective, it can be somewhat cumbersome, particularly when attempting to utilize workflows and make posts. The process can be time-consuming, and I need to set it up properly.
We implement the solution for our clients.
While the licensing cost of Infor dEPM may be costly, it is still more affordable than SAP BusinessObjects EPM, for example.
I give the solution an eight out of ten.
I recommend the Infor dEPM system to others as it is a robust solution that runs smoothly for our clients.
Three individuals within our organization are in charge of managing the solution. Nevertheless, we have numerous clients who utilize the solution in their respective organizations.

Infor dEPM is used for analytics and reporting dashboards so that top management can make decisions. It's mainly used as a reporting tool.
The most valuable feature is the report itself. It is user-friendly and simple; it's not complicated at all.
It's a very expensive solution.
I've been working with this solution since last year.
I would rate the scalability of the solution at ten out of ten. In Egypt, Infor dEPM is not a well known product, and we have two customers who use it. My main customers are outside of Egypt in the Middle East and Europe.
I would rate the technical support for the solution at ten out of ten.
Positive
Infor dEPM is very easy to deploy. I'd give it a ten out of ten for for ease of deployment. First, we find out the customer's requirements and create a demo for their specific needs. Next, we customize the solution to handle the customer's requirements. We then train the customers and start implementing their live data.
Our customers have the solution deployed on the cloud or on-premises. The deployment took about a month.
It's a very expensive product, and I would rate it at nine out of ten, with ten being the most expensive. There are yearly licensing costs.
I would recommend Infor dEPM and advice you to work with a trained partner. Don't try to go it alone and get lost.
Overall, I would rate Infor dEPM at nine out of ten. It's a very good solution.
I joined this company a year ago and Infor PM was already here. It was useful for consolidating data from subsidiaries and having global reports.
There is plenty of room for improvement: Mainly ease of implement, configuration, and use. For our business, I don’t think it was the best.
I likely would have come to a different conclusion with a better implementation. However, I found it buggy, clunky, and very stiff.
A business is dynamic and the systems should be capable of changing accordingly. For a minor change, you should not have to rebuild, reconfigure, and reload everything.
I've used this solution for one year.
There were no stability issues.
There were scalability issues. The cubes are limited and when working with millions of rows, it does not work all the time.
I literally gave up using their support due to their slow response. The business cannot wait weeks to fix an issue/report.
We did not use a solution previous to this one. Infor PM was implemented here for years before I joined. We switched from Infor to Tableau. We still use Infor PM for write-back functionality.
I don’t know how the initial setup was, but it was definitely very poorly implemented with no automation.
Don’t go for it because it is cheaper! The bitterness of poor quality remains, long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
I evaluated and chose other options as a replacement for Infor PM: These included QlikView, SAP BO, Board, Birst, Sisense, and Tableau. We chose Tableau.
They have inexpensive licenses, but it costs much more to implement and maintain. It has a very small community, a lack of available, resources, and we struggled to find support.
Hope this will help others to think more before going for a BI system.
A valuable feature is the Excel & VB front-end support. As I worked on this, the input/output, and reporting (especially Ad-hoc) functions are perfect and very helpful for a user.
We were using this for the payroll process, from time keeping to the payroll run. It provide us a great opportunity to work with a secure platform and deal with a large amount of numerical entries.
Only sometimes, there are server start-up issues.
I've used is for almost four years.
No, there were no issues at all.
Stability is perfect.
Not at all.
Customer service is at a moderate level.
Technical Support:Technical support is excellent.
Initial set-up was good, and with the help of the IT department, it was perfect and we started smoothly.
The implementation was done in its entirety by an in-house team.
This is a perfect, secure, safe and fast product. The great thing about it is that it has a multiple user interface and the ad-hoc reporting is amazing.
It is used for planning and forecasting of financial statements, and I find the product very good. Its simplicity in creating new OLAP cubes and dimensions, as well as new reports is a valuable feature.
My organization used many Excel sheets for the planning and forecasting processes. The spreadsheets were consolidated by finance and controlling, but the problem was, that some end users changed formulas inside of the Excel sheets. There were many factors that could lead to false statements and, in the end, it was not known who caused the failures. Now, there is a single point of entry, and all changes are audited but the formulas are not editable by users. Complex allocations are performed by a single click after the data entry is finished.
I have used it since 2010, and eventually, I moved onto doing implementations.
No, not really.
Yes we did, but it was due to a network issue and not due to the product itself.
No, but the amount of data we are processing is not that big.
Tehnical support offered by Infor is very good. I always got an answer, and it never took them more than a day to get back in contact.
No, for this purpose we used only Excel sheets before we implemented Infor BI.
Initial setup is straightforward. You only need to know which parts of the solution you need to install and on what kind of server/OS.
We did an in-house implementation.
I don't know exactly, but people in charge of planning/forecasting processes can't imagine working without the tool at this moment. In Excel, it took ages to consolidate the data from 10-15 departments. Now, the planning process can have many more iterations as it could have in terms of Excel planning.
We pay 20% of the original cost as a maintenance fee but I don't know the original costs.
No, we are Infor Channel partner (local branch) so there was not really any intention to implement something else.
For planning and consolidation this is a perfect choice. You have the option to design your own logic via dimensions, cubes, rules and dimension hierarchies. And, you can lock down user input via pre-designed ad-hoc reports that are visible via thin/fat client. Power users can get access to data via an Excel add-in.
It has given us the ability to not only deliver key reports and metrics, but also to make them available on a self service basis. In addition to this, it allowed us to streamline key business process such as the budget process by capturing data from departmental managers globally to build budgets and forecasts from the bottom up.
The mobile offering and dashboards need work, however this has been improved upon in more recent versions of Infor BI.
I've used it for four to five years.
No issues encountered.
No issues encountered.
None at all as the product is very scalable.
It's good.
Technical Support:It's good.
No previous solution was used.
It's a very straightforward setup. The vendor guides you through the design and initial setup.
Initially we used a vendor team and then switched to an in house one. The vendor team's knowledge is excellent.
It takes approximately two to three years. We achieved an 80% ROI by year two through headcount reduction and process improvements.
Circa £360k for the three phases of a global project (this included all Hardware, Licensing and consultancy costs incurred). On-going maintenance costs are £25-£30k per year.
Yes, we also looked at Oracle BI Applications and IBM Cognos TM1.
Ensure you give the relevant thought to the initial design process and use the opportunity to re-evaluate the way you report.
Infor PM Q&A is fully integrated with SunSystems Financials software and is easy to use but provides flexible and dynamic reporting capability.
There are two main components of the Infor PM Q&A reporting suite. The Q&A XL function provides the user with an Excel add-in that facilitates both transactional and summary level reporting. It can be used to produce simple Journal Listings or high level management reports. There is also a Data Upload function which allows transactions to be posted into the SunSystems ledger via a simple template.
The Q&A Executive function is a stand-alone reporting tool that provides a more powerful management reporting capability with in-built functionality such as Drilldowns, Breakouts, Data Cubes and Charts. It is particularly useful for ad-hoc inquiries and navigation around the SunSystems ledger.
Aside from the obvious improvement in financial and management reporting capability the increased visibility of how data is processed also assists management in enforcing greater financial controls and audit compliance across the business.
A web-based version would provide greater usability and I believe is still in the development pipeline.
I am currently working at an oil company in Nigeria and the Infor SunSystems and PM suite has been used at this company for around two years. They are using Infor PM Q&A version 10.1 including Q&A XL, and Executive & Alert - installed alongside Infor 10 SunSystems Financials system.
Personally as a SunSystems/Q&A consultant I have used the product for 20 years in various iterations.
No issues with deployment.
No issues with stability.
No issues with scalability.
We implemented Infor PM Q&A as part of a wider Infor SunSystems implementation and used a SunSystems reseller with experience of both the product and the Oil & Gas sector in Africa. The customer service was very good.
Technical Support:Very good. We have reported very few technical errors since the implementation two years ago.
Yes, various versions of Sage were used in the formative years of the company. As the company rapidly expanded it was clear that it was no longer suitable to meet the complex reporting requirements of the business.
The main areas of complexity related to configuring the system to meet the unique Statutory and Tax reporting requirements of Nigeria. We also utilised the full range of Q&A XL functionality to facilitate the unique processes involved in Joint Venture accounting which is required in most Oil & Gas companies.
Through a 3rd Party vendor who were very experienced in SunSystems, Oil & Gas and working in Africa. All three are prerequisites for any successful implementation in this part of the world.
Sorry I don't have access to the original setup costs and the day to day costs are variable as we continue to develop the system. We will shortly be implementing the Infor EAM Asset Management module and B4B banking software.
I wasn’t involved in the original selection process of the Infor SunSystems and PM solution. I understand that it was chosen because it had been successfully implemented and used by the key project stakeholders at their previous companies.
Ensure you have clearly scoped your business requirements before implementing this or any other finance system. If SunSystems is the financial system of choice then Infor PM Q&A simply must be included as part of the solution due to the reporting functionality it provides. If Budgeting is a key element of your business the Infor PM Budgeting & Forecasting solution is also worth considering.
