Oracle Taleo was previously known as Taleo, SonicRecruit.
| Author info | Rating | Review Summary |
|---|---|---|
| Talent Acquisition Specialist at Autodesk, Inc. | 3.5 | I've used Oracle Taleo mainly for recruitment and CRM tasks; while its workflows and support are helpful, it lacks AI features, mobile accessibility, and scalability, making it less comprehensive than platforms like Workday or SuccessFactors. |
| Associate Architect-Technology at Virtusa Global | 4.0 | I primarily use Oracle Taleo for ATS and candidate management. Its robust industrial stack suits large-scale operations, but its outdated interface and call limitations need improvement. Oracle suggests transitioning to Oracle Recruitment Cloud, a well-regarded alternative. |
| Student at a educational organization with 1,001-5,000 employees | 3.5 | As an HR professional focusing on talent acquisition, I use Oracle Taleo for managing hiring processes. Its integration with Calendly improves scheduling efficiency, but it lacks AI-based CV screening and no-code automation, which would enhance candidate selection and workflow customization. |
| HRMS at Airtel | 4.0 | I use Oracle Taleo for internal hiring due to its OCR, streamlined metrics, and workflow simplicity. However, navigation is complex and unintuitive. We previously relied on SAP but prefer Oracle's real-time, cloud-based benefits without needing server management. |
| Managing IT at ABC | 3.5 | I use Oracle Taleo for recruitment, mainly to raise and approve requisitions. While I've not used other similar products, improvements are needed in status management and CV-job matching. My company plans to switch to Avature for potentially better features and cost-effectiveness. |
| Head of Talent Acquisition & Talent Management at a tech services company with 201-500 employees | 2.5 | I used Oracle Taleo mainly for tracking candidates and job requisitions, but found it outdated and less user-friendly compared to Workday, which offers a more streamlined interface, improved usability, and better options for job postings and candidate management. |
| HR Supervisor at a construction company with 5,001-10,000 employees | 3.5 | I find Taleo reliable and stable for recruiting and onboarding, making processes easy. While minor functional modifications are occasionally needed, they don't disrupt business. I rate it 7/10. |
| Service Delivery Project Manager at HCL Technologies | 4.0 | I find Oracle Taleo a stable, scalable solution, excellent for recruiting and onboarding, with good support. Its primary drawback is a basic dashboard. Despite Oracle's shift to ORC, I recommend it for these core functions, rating it 8/10. |
| Associate Architect-Technology at Virtusa Global | 3.0 | We use Taleo mainly for recruitment, finding its integration good but it lacks some systems and has scalability issues. Setup was complex. Despite good support, I rate it 6/10 due to these limitations. |
| Human Resources Manager at a legal firm with 5,001-10,000 employees | 4.5 | I typically use Oracle Taleo as part of our HR core, primarily relying on PeopleSoft. While the cloud options and data storage are beneficial, I'd prefer if it integrated with Olympia and included more interdisciplinary IT features. I find Workday a superior alternative. |

Positive

I primarily use Oracle Fusion, Telehubot, and their suite for ATS, recruitment, candidate management, and candidate relationship management.
The advantage I see is the presence of the industrial Taleo stack, which is beneficial for large-scale companies handling a higher load.
Additionally, we utilize Oracle Fusion performance management. We have been using Oracle Fusion and Telehubot for about six to seven years.
With Taleo, I experience two limitations. First, it only supports soft calls with a daily limit, which is a concern. The other limitation is that it feels outdated, and I cannot compare certain things or implement some automations that require a lot of manual intervention when initiating, generating, and calculating offers.
I have been using Oracle Fusion and Telehubot for about six to seven years.
The product remains stable, and Oracle is investing further to improve and enhance it.
The installation is medium in complexity. During the implementation of Oracle, configuring for a single country setup requires about 20 to 30 days, including pre-onboarding and post-onboarding processes. It takes considerable time.
Typically, one person is sufficient to manage the product at very high levels. However, if there is a quality assurance process involved, a minimum of two people is required.
Oracle recommends migrating to Oracle Recruitment Cloud, which is a highly rated plan at the moment. I also evaluated other products like Phenom.
I am planning to move from Taleo to Oracle Virtual Cloud. This is my current direction, and I rate the solution eight out of ten. There is no coding capability on Taleo. That said, configuration requires effort to make the product work when expanding to a new country. This requires careful consideration. I'm not sure about the IT system in Hialeah, however, it's going to ORP, the ORP company, KI.
Overall, I rate the solution eight out of ten.
As an HR professional focused on talent acquisition, I primarily use Oracle Taleo for managing the talent side and hiring processes. I explore Oracle Taleo's capabilities as part of my assignments to understand its integration with ATS systems and its features for scheduling and managing interviews.
Oracle Taleo's integration capabilities are good. I successfully integrate Calendly into Oracle Taleo for interview scheduling, which is a significant pain point for our processes at the time. This feature enables seamless scheduling without the back-and-forth communication, improving efficiency in our talent acquisition process.
It would be beneficial if Oracle Taleo included AI-based CV screening, rather than just keyword matches. This would enhance the precision of candidate selection. Additionally, no-code automation for user workflow and approvals could be an advantageous addition. Oracle Taleo could also enhance customization options to better suit enterprise clients who typically engage in long-term contracts.
For larger enterprises, Oracle Taleo may not stand out due to other available tools in the market that offer more features and scalability.
I have experience with several HR tools, including Zoho Recruit, BambooHR, Greenhouse, and Freshworks CRM and ATS. Each serves different purposes depending on the needs of the organization.
I do not recall any specifics about the pricing of Oracle Taleo.
I have evaluated various ATS and HRMS tools such as Zoho, BambooHR, Greenhouse, Greenhouse, Lever, Recruit CRM, Breezy HR, and Workable. These evaluations were part of understanding the market offerings and aligning them with organizational needs.
I would rate Oracle Taleo a seven out of ten. Oracle Taleo is more suitable for a bigger SME size business, whereas start-ups and enterprises might find other tools to offer better customization and features.

We use the solution for our internal hiring requirements. We hire people based on the Oracle recruiting service.
The solution's most valuable features are the OCR, single source of truth, and simplicity of the workflows. The solution's metrics are very streamlined.
The solution should be more intuitive and user-friendly when navigating the different pages within Oracle. If someone wants to exit the organization, they have to go to different pages and look very in-depth to find specific pages. It's not very open enough to identify those buttons, which becomes a challenge.
I have been using Oracle Taleo for six years.
I rate the solution’s stability an eight to nine out of ten.
The solution has good scalability because some organizations with 20,000 employees can use it to manage a large amount of data.
We previously used SAP. We had a very generic HRMS. Since we currently use a cloud-based model in real time, we don't need to manage servers.
The solution’s initial setup is very easy. One person is enough to deploy the solution.
Oracle Taleo is an expensive solution. The solution's pricing depends on the organization's requirements and the features you seek.
On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a seven or eight out of ten.
The solution provides good performance management. You need some technical people to manage the solution in case of new releases. Three to four people are needed for the solution's maintenance. You have AI features in Oracle Taleo. The solution's AI features help in the onboarding process and answer the questions newcomers ask.
I recommend users choose their product based on their use cases. The solution has to be stable to manage the large volume of transactions, and its usability and adoption must also be considered.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
I use the solution in my company for recruitment purposes.
I cannot describe the advantages of the solution in specific since it was the only one that was available for our organization. My company uses the basic features of the product. The product is basically used to raise a requisition and finally, when the requisition is fulfilled, it is useful for the approval part.
It is difficult to say whether the product can be improved in any areas since we are not using some of the free features of the product in our company. I could have suggested something that could have been improved in the product if my company had been using some of the features offered in the tool. It would be better if the product could be improved in terms of providing information to the users regarding the status or where the request is since both areas are not easy to manage.
I would like some AI solution to be integrated into Oracle Taleo, which can review the CVs of candidates and match it with the job descriptions properly just by looking at the uploaded CVs.
I have experience with Oracle Taleo for more than three years.
The product's stability is good.
The team handling the product can speak about the scalability features of the tool.
I have not had any experience with the product's support team. Based on my experience with Oracle's support team, I would say that I rate the technical staff a seven or eight out of ten.
Neutral
I have not used any products that are similar to Oracle Taleo.
I cannot comment on the implementation part of the product since I did not participate in its process.
I am not concerned about the maintenance of the product. I would not know how it is maintained as an end user. There is a whole separate team in my company to take care of the maintenance of the solution. I don't know how many people are required to deploy or maintain the solution in our company.
I cannot say for sure if the product helps my company save time or money since it is not possible for me to compare it with some other tools.
The product cost is irrelevant to me since I do not manage it. As an end customer, I don't think pricing bothered us.
My company plans to move from Oracle Taleo to Avature. The teams responsible for managing the migration process from Oracle Taleo to another solution carry out the evaluations. I don't know exactly why my company plans to move away from Oracle Taleo, but I believe that it could be because the organization wants some new features or wants a cost- effective product.
The product was moderately sufficient for my company's talent acquisition needs. The product was not very sophisticated in terms of what it could do.
The performance of the product was okay, in my opinion.
I don't believe the product has any AI capabilities or integrations.
I believe that many people in the market use the product. It would be difficult for me to say whether I would recommend the product to others or not since I have not had any experience with similar tools in the market. I believe that I am not the right person to recommend the solution to others.
I rate the tool a seven out of ten.
ATS is used to track candidates. We've used it for job requisitions, getting candidates for those requisitions, moving them through different interview stages, and then handling their onboarding process.
Oracle Taleo felt a bit outdated, and we didn't use it for every step of the candidate process. We mainly used it to track job IDs, create job requisitions, and add candidates when making an offer. It wasn't very user-friendly for moving candidates through different stages of the recruitment lifecycle.
I have been working with the product for two years.
Oracle Taleo is stable.
The solution's scalability is fine. You can scale it to any level. My company has tens of thousands of users for the product.
I haven't contacted technical support yet.
Workday was much easier to use than Oracle Taleo, which seemed outdated. Although the purpose of these tools is similar, the main differences lie in the user interface and usability.
Workday is more streamlined and has a more appealing user interface. The application's flow is nice. It offers many options for posting jobs on multiple websites, including LinkedIn. This results in many applications, and sorting through them is much easier and smoother than Oracle Taleo.
I rate the overall product a five out of ten. I wouldn't recommend it to others. It is cumbersome and boring to use.
In my prior job, I used Taleo for recruiting purposes only. Now, in my current job, we are doing the onboarding transition aspects. We weren't doing that at my prior job.
It has allowed us to be able to source candidates, have them apply for the job, or put in applications online. All of our onboarding is done via the web as well. It makes everything easy.
The solution is stable and reliable.
There are functional issues based on the system that we're currently using. This has nothing to do with Taleo.
There are always going to be little caveats here and there that you might not have known about as far as changes are concerned, however, it's not business-oriented to the point where the business shuts down. It's just modifications that we have to do on a functional basis.
Under my current company, I have had experience with the solution for three and a half years.
The solution is stable and the performance is good. It does not crash or freeze. There are no bugs or glitches. It's reliable.
I can't speak to scalability. it's not in my area of expertise.
If we have any issues, we typically turn to our IT department. I've never directly dealt with Taleo, and therefore cannot speak to how their services are.
I've used other sources, however, I've never used an onboarding tool. I know there are many of them out there, for example, Paycom. There's Paychex as well. However, we're mainly using this product for recruiting purposes.
As far as the setup goes, I'm not sure how everything works. We've done some upgrades and stuff, and we've gone through regression testing. However, I don't directly handle any of the setup processes.
We have about four people involved in any update that we do. We have a couple of regression testers and the technical source to make sure the upgrade gets processed, the test groups are done, and all that good stuff.
I wasn't involved in the pricing at all. I have no idea if it is priced high or low.
We are customers and end-users.
I would advise new users to just make sure that they understand their functional roles and make sure it mirrors what they need from Taleo and Oracle.
I'd rate the solution a seven out of ten.

We are partners for Oracle and SAP and there are a lot of customers who are using Oracle Taleo as a cloud solution from our side.
I believe that Taleo has been in the market for the past 20 years or more, and was a separate company before being acquired by Oracle. In general, Taleo was first and foremost used for recruiting, onboarding, and then performance management and goal management. Later, they acquired Taleo Learn and they now also have a learning management application under Taleo's umbrella. However, lately they are moving more to ORC (Oracle Recruiting Cloud).
Taleo's user base differs from client to client, but most organizations have around 3,000 users. Oracle Taleo also has a Business Edition module, so customers have an option here. With a large user base, organizations can go with the Enterprise Edition, or if there aren't that many users, they can go with Taleo Business Edition.
The most usable and well-known feature is Oracle's recruiting module for Taleo. Performance and goal management are good to have, based on certain client requirements where the user base isn't too large, but the most workable domain of Taleo is the recruiting module.
Currently I think Oracle is more inclined towards investing in ORC, which is the Oracle Recruiting Cloud application. In terms of Oracle Taleo as a product, there are a lot of things which can be developed; most feedback which I have heard from customers is about the dashboard and the home page, both of which are quite basic. It is not very user-friendly yet, and they do not have visibility.
HR people are more inclined towards the graphical representation of how recruiting is going on within their organization, so that is not something which Oracle should be avoiding.
It has been around 13 years that we've been working with Taleo.
It is quite a stable product.
It satisfies my definition of scalable.
Oracle support is quite good. From what I've seen in the last few years, I think Oracle support is far better than SAP support, for instance.
The setup is not complicated as such. From a user perspective, it's not complicated and, in fact, is quite user-friendly. Even for the implementer, it is quite easy to configure.
The implementation time naturally depends upon the requirements, but at a minimum, we can implement recruiting and onboarding with Oracle in 45 days. If you have more of a management workflow, there's also a lot of a customization there. And if you have customized Java applications, those areas need to be developed and it may take more time. But overall, in it can be configured and delivered to customers in 45 days.
Whether you pay annually or on some other payment schedule depends on the license model you choose. Typically, clients pay a yearly subscription.
I can recommend Taleo for recruiting and onboarding and I would rate it an eight out of ten.

We are customers of Oracle and I'm an associate architect, technology.
We use Taleo mainly for recruitment. The solution has good integration capabilities and extensibility, and there's the standard integration between Fusion and Taleo as well as the validations that can be done on top of Taleo.
Taleo doesn't really provide us with the systems that we need. There are a few areas that they don't cover.
I've been using this solution for four years.
The solution is stable.
Our main difficulties came as a result of scalability issues. We're not able to do much page personalization and when it comes to adding validations, we're unable to do that.
Oracle support is fairly good, we get decent responses to all of our queries.
Positive
The initial setup is a little complex and took us longer than expected, close to three weeks.
Licensing fees are paid annually.
If the customer has already implemented Fusion, I'd recommend going for ORC as a stand-alone product.
I rate this solution six out of 10.
Our company typically uses Taleo at its human resource core. I use their PeopleSoft and use functions from other tools as well - such as Workday. Generally, I really rely on PeopleSoft.
The solution offers good benefits for administrators.
The solution allows for various options using the cloud. It can store data easier and you can access it at any time.
It would be ideal if we could integrate the solution with Olympia. It would be helpful if we could add another support desk for an IT person. It would be great if the product was more interdisciplinary and could include IT.
I've been using the solution for three years.
The solution is pretty stable. Any bugs are generally dealt with quickly. It's a pretty reliable solution.
We haven't had issues with the scalability. We're on the enterprise edition and it seems to meet our needs.
I've been in touch with technical support in the past. They've been good. We haven't had any issues with the level of help we receive. We're satisfied with the level of service they provide.
I don't have any insights into the initial setup. I'm unsure as to if it was straightforward or complex.
The pricing is reasonable. We have the enterprise edition for our company, and it's fairly priced.
We're just customers and end-users. We don't have a business relationship with the company.
I actually prefer a different product, Workday. I would recommend that instead of Taleo.
That said, on a scale from one to ten, I'd still rate Taleo at a nine.
