We are conducting all our project management using Atlassian tools. We use Atlassian Confluence for task management, reporting, visualization of tasks, and reviewing the progress of tickets and work I use Atlassian Confluence for task management and other project management tasks, such as…

Makes tasks like network planning and performance monitoring much easier
I have experience with solutions from other vendors like Nokia, Huawei, and Tyson. The main pros of Symphony, in comparison, are the modules that provide a comprehensive overview and the automation features for planning data. These aspects are notably beneficial and stand out. On the downside, the major cons revolve around user customization. Unlike other vendors where you can create your reports and customize navigation, Symphony's user optimization in the SCAP module is limited. This lack of flexibility is a significant drawback, especially when compared to other solutions. Overall, while certain modules like those related to SolarWinds are straightforward and comparable, Symphony falls short in terms of user customization.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution helped us to see where we were going wrong and where we were doing good, and that helped us to make proper decisions"
"The integration's very good. You still have integration with lots of third party products, and it's very good."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to create business collaboration solutions without having an army of IT professionals."
"The scalability is enough for our use cases. It covers all our needs."
"It has improved collaboration, transparency, and documentation quality among teams."
"This became the primary location where all knowledge documents and other documentation were recorded and held."
"A simple tool for developers to write and record team decisions explaining the product that they are creating."
"Users can create tables and directly pull all Jira tickets into a Tableau format."
"The entire product is good."
"Symphony and Laravel are the most comfortable frameworks for any developer. It is also lightweight."
"The solution is user-friendly, and it is very good security-wise."
"The overall functions are good."
"I found the RAM Commander module in Symphony to be the most valuable."

Cons

"Also, the pricing module needs to be adjusted."
"It takes some thought into how to structure Confluence in a way which is intuitive for the team to use."
"I would like Confluence to include the ability to draw flowcharts and diagrams."
"The user interface could be improved."
"Atlassian Confluence's old versions consume too much memory, making it an area where optimization is required from an improvement perspective."
"Some macros can be technical, and they are better managed on the Confluence cloud rather than on-premises. For example, when you add an image on the cloud, you can resize it just by using the mouse. This is not the case on-premises yet. You have to write pixels of the size of the image sometimes. Some of the very old macros are still there, and some of them are technical. It can be hard for users if they are not from an IT background to understand how to use them quickly."
"Working with 3rd party content i.e. MS Office, PDF files, email integration."
"The UX is a little bit all over the place."
"The solution needs to improve CI."
"The solution is very expensive, and its pricing could be improved."
"The area that needs to be improved is modular asset management. When we are uploading the assets in bulk, it is not aligned."
"Compared to established vendors, it lacks user flexibility and customization, especially in the PM module."
"To improve the situation, enhancing the functionality for integrating with other applications and addressing ticketing issues is crucial."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"To my knowledge, Atlassian Confluence had a pricing approach which is a commercial open-source solution, so that if you are a company, you had to pay an amount. This fee was not huge compared to other traditional solutions, and it was free for personal use or if you were an individual."
"This is a very expensive solution."
"In my opinion, it's worth the investment"
"There is a license needed to use Atlassian Confluence."
"Confluence charges an extra fee for analytics."
"For us, it's free to use. We don't pay any licensing."
"Making integration with other tools easier would be beneficial."
"The price of the on-premises data center version is too expensive."
"It's a costly product, but the number of available features justifies it."
"It is fairly an expensive product, but works for us."
"Symphony is expensive."
