Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Delivers increased productivity and streamlines fraud processing in banking, though technical support could be faster
Before AutomationEdge, we had to hire coder-level experts with Java or Python knowledge. This approach took considerable time and required error handling to automate processes. With this tool, all processes are automatically handled with errors, and no-code automation is available. The cost for a developer is now significantly lower. Previously, we hired highly efficient developers with high salary packages. The license cost of 5 to 10 lakhs per year for one person to automate is equivalent to a person's annual salary. With the license and a developer hired at 3 to 5 lakhs, we can automate 40 to 50 processes.

Automating processes has saved time and improved communication
Something frustrates me concerning Microsoft Power Automate, and that is about the integration with Microsoft Forms and Excel. The issue now is that I don't get my responses synchronized automatically, and that frustrates me a lot. If the team could take this as feedback, the synchronization of the feedback responses from the forms and the Excel sheets should be seamless. This synchronization issue happens frequently, and it causes a lot of delays in the sense that the mails that ought to go out to the agents fail at some point. I have to reload these responses so that the agents can get their responses as when submitted. What I notice is that the responses don't go out without proper synchronization, so I reload the field responses, and this works afterwards. I would say probably a seamless walkthrough process for new users would be beneficial. For those using it for the first time, a seamless walkthrough process would be fine.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This is the right platform and choice, as every business needs to be at this pace and cannot ignore automation if you really want your company to get to the next level and be at par with competitors."
"In my day-to-day applications, I can integrate Automation Copilot easily as I can embed it within Workday, BambooHR, and Salesforce, allowing business users easy access to Automation Anywhere without logging into multiple applications, thus saving 85 to 90% of the time."
"Business analytics provides real-time data that's something other competing companies lack. It uses statistics and graphs to show the performance of the bots which processes are lagging behind and if you need to give priority to certain tasks."
"Automation Anywhere's most valuable feature is its seamless integration into procurement software, allowing for the automation of purchase orders, billing, employee travel details, and other tasks."
"Since implementing the solution, the tasks are taking place in a seamless manner. As long as the process is not changed, there is the ease of replicability. Repeatable tasks constantly get done without any challenges."
"Excel automation is especially helpful because a lot of small companies are still using Excel as their data storage."
"Automation Anywhere stands out because it has brought productivity to the organization, improved customer service, accelerated business growth, and allowed for faster innovation."
"The reporting capabilities are pretty nice."
"The ability to automate our processes with external plug-ins and zero code is the most valuable feature."
"Attended versus unattended automation in AutomationEdge has benefited my organization significantly."
"The studio design is fine compared to other similar products. There is nothing extraordinary about it, but at the same time, there are not any negatives."
"In general terms, the solution has helped our business by speeding up execution times."
"It helps us with cost optimization and easy implementation."
"The product's most valuable feature is the executor."
"The support from the vendor is very good."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...I rate the technical support of the solution a nine out of ten."
"The email routing, consolidation of the reports, and management features are strong."
"Should be high, as unattended RPA capabilities are available at almost free as I can utilize it under o365 license."
"It is very easy to learn and use, and it is quite useful for any sort of back-office work."
"The best part is the automated workflow, which is quite good and easy. It is just drag-and-drop. We are able to create workflows quite quickly. We are able to directly integrate the data that it generates with Power BI dashboards. Its integration is quite good with other Microsoft tools, such as Power BI. The visualization of the data has become helpful for us."
"The solution helps automate manual tasks and interacts with multiple applications."
"I like the scalability option and the simplicity, the way we can really use the interface to easily scale up."
"We have completed a few projects, and just finished another one in which we were able to fill out 10,000 forms for a client who needed to do it as quickly as possible when a system went down, reducing a process that would have taken weeks to four hours."
"My advice on this product would be to focus on the human in the loop because Power Automate is really great when you want to communicate with users in the middle of a crisis, or if you want some interaction with different people or want to orchestrate workflow between different departments."

Cons

"The bot scaling process was painful, when you go beyond a few bots, and because we had stability issues. We had to work through the issues, and they took us a long time."
"Our users would like more online community forums where they can exchange information. I would also like a better way to monitor and manage all the automations we have running within our systems because our CoE governance must be robust so we are always aware of what's happening."
"Now, it is a big complex to download the product and install it, then again to install the patches. So, it takes a lot of time to download it."
"It may sound a little funny or weird, but one thing that we are thinking is we have to go to various websites and pick up relevant data from various websites using the bot. That is something we have seen that none of the bots have been able to really do it because the back-end of those websites do not allow bots to scrap through all these websites and get the relevant data in one place. We would like to see how the bot companies would crack this idea. But, that's why I said, this look weird because of the legal reasons why this cannot be done. This is something that I am looking forward to."
"There have been many instances, particularly in my previous organization where we did a lot of development in Automation Anywhere, catering to clients like CPA firms in America, where we raised tickets for solutions but did not always find a satisfactory resolution, despite connecting over a call."
"One day, there will be a message box saying that the application is down or not available on a weekend. The instructions will say read the information and click, "Okay." But a bot doesn't understand the instructions because it is not the IQ system."
"We have been looking at processes which can easily transition into a large scale environment, where you can have cloud or hybrid model. However, being a bank, some of our processes are critical and we would like to hold those on-premise. This limits us with our usage of Automation Anywhere."
"We have used the technical support. I am quite unhappy with the support part."
"In the future, they should have a similar version for the cloud and on-premises, and the installation should be flawless within few minutes."
"It's not an intuitive tool."
"The ease of use is the main thing on which they really have to focus. If they want to go against the giants, it should be improved in ease of use, and it should be more user-friendly. It would be helpful because everyone should be empowered irrespective of whether they know how to code or not. They should enhance its user interface and make it more intuitive."
"With the solution, customizing software can be time-consuming."
"The installation process could improve. It was difficult to complete."
"AutomationEdge's primary issue is its price point, especially compared to other products."
"Regarding stability and reliability, AutomationEdge is mid-range. When compared with other tools such as Automation Anywhere and UIPath, they are more stable than AutomationEdge."
"With other automation solutions in the market, we can simulate the process in our notebooks where the solution creates the code for us, but with AutomationEdge we can't do this."
"They can build more templates and more connectivity with other platforms. They can provide a more user-friendly way to connect with other platforms. They have their own in-built plugins for certain third-party vendors, but there are still a lot of third-party vendors that are not there."
"If the product had onscreen help, it would be easier to learn and use."
"The license cost could be better."
"The solution could benefit from mirroring Oracle's use of videos and community forums to help users get acquainted with the product. It could use better online training and/or documentation."
"It is not yet stable. It is a new solution, and it is not completely stable."
"Sometimes, Microsoft changes the game rules, and the free tools are no longer free, which makes it too hard to explain to customers. It is a SaaS service, so the cost is calculated based on the execution hours. However, we don't know the background of this cost because we cannot touch the infrastructure. They can be more open to developers or customers about this. The infrastructure part must be open for the customers."
"I actually find it easier to use, I prefer to use it, but it's just not working; it just stopped working and I don't know how to get this part back."
"Microsoft Power Automate's basic activities are not strong."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution itself is free unless we want to add the support option but we have to pay for the bots we use."
"There is an annual license to use the solution."
"I don't deal have cost specifics but I can say it is a tool that provides value for the money."
"We are currently negotiating a contract. Depending upon that, we will definitely look at increasing usage."
"It is subscription-based. They have different schemes. The price depends on how you negotiate with the local partner or local representative in your country."
"Its cost is good."
"It depends. For example, for my group, we are centralizing the infrastructure in Paris. Our contract is signed with Automation Anywhere in France. The currency and the pricing of Automation Anywhere in France can appear beneficial and interesting for Germany and Scandinavian countries, but when we share our infra and are internally charging other countries such as Poland, Brazil, or some other country with a lower currency value as compared to Euro, it becomes less beneficial. They would prefer to sign the contract directly with Automation Anywhere because they will benefit from a price that is as per their local market."
"On a yearly basis, our licensing costs are about $80,000. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fees."
"Price-wise, AutomationEdge is pretty affordable, making it not so expensive when you compare this with other tools in the market."
"Pricing can be made better. Currently, I think the pricing is based on the market. The pricing also depends on the business partners that offer you the solution."
"The product is available at the lowest price."
"The licensing for this solution should have a more competitive pricing model. The price is in the top five of similar products."
"I give the price of the solution a nine out of ten."
"It is expensive but its value can justify the cost."
"If you are looking for a budget solution, you can consider AE. It has all the features. Scaling it is way easier because of the cost itself."
"Power Automate is comparatively less costly than UiPath."
"The license cost could be better."
"It's more fragmented licensing, where every little thing that you add, you get an extra license cost."
"When we purchase the Microsoft Dynamics license, the Power Automate license is often free, albeit with some limitations, such as a certain number of transactions per user."
"This solution is reasonably priced and offers a free trial period."
"Microsoft is providing an automatic license with a cost of $20 million per month, which is reasonable."
"Due to the pricing model, the solution is more convenient than any other tools."
"There is flexibility in pricing."
