Have streamlined daily workflow and task management but still face inconvenience from recent interface changes and limited integration options
There are challenges and issues in Microsoft Teams, such as after recent updates where group chats were combined with Teams, chats, and groups into one. Users have to work with settings to make it normal again so Teams are separated from chats, and that was a really inconvenient update. Many users ask me to help make it back again to separate Teams and groups from one-to-one chats. That's probably the worst update they've made recently. Additionally, there are some minor features, such as when I work with messages, I don't have an actual forward or quote option when replying to someone's message. I need to be careful not to miss the quote sign. For a lot of people, they are confused about where the quotes option is. I've received a couple of hundred support tickets just regarding this issue. The function to share email to Teams chat doesn't work sometimes due to our compliance policies, and sometimes it would be nice to be able to forward an email to the group chat and have further discussions. Microsoft Teams could improve by being less glitchy because it glitches a lot, leading to undelivered emails and undelivered messages. It would be beneficial if the MS application Shifts, which adds functionality to groups, could be integrated into the groups calendar. Currently, many teams don't use the app because it is not integrated with the general calendar or the Outlook calendar, making it basically a useless application. The platform needs less Copilot and more people. The general Copilot integration into the platform is less glitchy, but Microsoft Teams is quite heavy and glitchy sometimes. Stability depends a lot on compliance restrictions, policies, and quality of internet. Sometimes, when updates are enrolling, the platform glitches, breaks, or shuts down.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I can say firsthand that the reason we work with Avaya as a user and as a business partner is because it's by far the most stable and scalable platform among unified communications platforms in the market."
"I like the share information function."
"In terms of functionality, it has some interesting features that I haven't seen in other solutions like content rewind where you can see content from the beginning of the meeting even though you weren't there when it commenced."
"It is very easy to jump from one communication channel to another one. It is pretty clear and very easy to do. That is the thing that I like the most from Avaya and their suite."
"We use the solution for team collaboration, document sharing, and video conferencing services. It integrates well with on-premises video conferencing systems and supports chatting through text messaging and instant messaging."
"Interesting collaboration features."
"I like the tool's screen share feature."
"I find using Jira to create and share files within the channels very convenient. We can add simple things like spreadsheets or whiteboards to a channel, and all the sharing is done automatically. For example, when working on a project, I start a new channel, and everyone knows to go there to find all our documentation."
"The most valuable feature for me is the chat."
"The features of Microsoft Teams I find most useful for team productivity are mainly the screen sharing feature, along with recordings and automatically generated transcripts when we do recording."
"Using the solution's screen-sharing feature, we can go through a document together and take control."
"Microsoft Teams adds value for businesses by providing functionality that includes co-authoring on work documents, publishing Power BI sites for reporting and billing, and integrating calendaring."
"It has allowed for collaboration during the COVID-19 situation (work from home)."
"You can easily integrate with other applications quite easily."

Cons

"The installation could be more straightforward. I would like it to work with other meeting software in the next release."
"Increase in participant numbers reduces quality of video and sound."
"Avaya IX Meetings' deployment is complex."
"There isn't too much information about Avaya solutions and that could be very much improved. If you want some product support, you have to go through a business partner in Latin America and there aren't many partners."
"Unfortunately, the video conferencing, both audio and video were not as good as Webex or Microsoft."
"The future scalability can include the integration of planners, project management tools, SharePoint, and more applications that are used."
"I think the solution would be improved by giving people the ability to call into meetings."
"Whiteboard tool not embedded in the solution."
"This solution is not as popular for companies to use as other solutions making it a disadvantage."
"One thing that could be improved is the auto-correction feature. When we type, we often send messages with spelling errors. While there is an edit feature to correct these mistakes, I think spelling-checking capabilities could still be improved."
"People might think it is too complicated or that it looks too complicated at the beginning."
"The product should improve its security aspect, scalability, stability, and screen recording. It would be nice if Teams could come up with a feature where I can write chats and send them as mail. It would be also good if Teams could be connected to our application software so that for any doubts that can occur during the training, the operator can resolve them through chats. Hence, they can easily guide and close the issue."
"The tool needs to improve its stability. There are issues when too many people use it at the same time."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Avaya IX Meetings' licensing costs are monthly."
"I'm using a subscription. The price is reasonable. It costs about $20 a year."
"The tool's price is part of MS Office 365 and I would rate its pricing five out of ten. The tool's licensing costs are monthly."
"Microsoft Teams is a cheap solution."
"I rate the pricing as a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"I use Teams' free version."
"The solution is expensive and I would rate it a nine out of ten."
"We need to pay for Microsoft Teams' licenses on a yearly basis."
"The standalone license is not cheap."
"The challenge with Microsoft's licensing model is that the prices are on the higher side, especially for companies that have more users where spending a lot on licenses may be required."
