Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Automation and AI integration enhance performance and user experience
The improvements or enhancements I would like to see in Blue Prism Cloud revolve around further developing server-client architecture, focusing on centralized control for remote agents. I believe more capabilities in that area could be beneficial. At the moment, I don't recall any specific features or functionalities missing from Blue Prism Cloud that come to mind. In terms of complexity, I find that Blue Prism Cloud is somewhat straightforward to use. Flexibility-wise, it engages well with Microsoft-based technologies. However, there are challenges with OCR capabilities that remain an issue. While there are readily available features that work well, the effectiveness does depend significantly on the type of use case I am implementing.

High-accuracy document processing with easy integration and good image enhancement
The OCR extractions are very good, almost 100% accurate now. The integration with other tools is very easy, with inbuilt actions to configure and directly export to multiple depositories. It is also good at image enhancement, including the removal of lines, which is helpful in processing and automation and ensures very little user intervention, thus saving time.

"Automation Anywhere is a decent competitor and gives a better solution."
"The Automation Anywhere University is a good tool. It goes topic-by-topic with real-time examples."
"We have saved time and money using the solution."
"Automation Anywhere has led to faster growth in our organization."
"With the cash flow generated just on the one bot we had operating, it's paid for itself in the first month."
"The reusability of the solution is excellent. It's a superior feature - far superior to any other tool on the market."
"It is more secure for complex implementations."
"If you have really complex process, this is a very good solution and the price is fair."
"Its AI features allow customers to find specific documents via an index."
"At this point, I haven't found anything that I can't do with this platform."
"It's a very sound tool with a good reputation for having a good security model, which is important to a lot of companies and it's got more of an object-oriented design flavor to it."
"Blue Prism offers the whole package for LPR developers; it's a useful tool to automate anything, and as an LPR developer, I think the most important feature is that it lets you get anything into blocks of code that you can use anywhere."
"This product has additional functionality over Blue Prism Cloud Enterprise."
"The feedback from our clients that this solution has increased their efficiency and their turnaround time on opening any account for end users, thus attracting more customers."
"It reduces human error and saves time."
"The administration of the application following an error is most valuable, as we are able to know easily when something is stuck in the system."
"It's resiliency, with multiple ways of identifying what you are looking for and multiple export formats, and it's a platform, not a configured application, so you can do what you want with it."
"I work for an insurance company, and we use Datacap for document processing."
"Datacap as compared to other products is a cheaper product, the stability and all the features are great, and the user-friendly features look good and you have less customization."
"Both Datacap Studio and Datacap Navigator are great features."
"While we are doing indexing, we tag the document type. It's programmed inside of Datacap to automatically detect the document based on a given template. It auto-indexes that document, which means that it automatically tags the correct document type to the scanned document."

Cons

"We only faced some problems when integrating it with SAP, and Oracle integration was a bit challenging, especially with Oracle Fusion. We had some issues when we were trying to connect some of the applications on the API level. But, in general, integration using Automation Anywhere is fine."
"Where minor but widespread changes are made to the cloud product being operated upon, changing the cloned search values individually was incredibly time consuming, and it shut down the RPA service until it was fixed."
"I would like to have a cloud-based version with support."
"There is room for improvement when this application is used in a Citrix-based environment."
"Automation Anywhere could improve its integration with Python and other programming languages."
"Sometimes, the ESX services will stop. We are working with IT to resolve this, as it's not our fault. Automation Anywhere is stopping the service, and during that time, the bot will be stopped. Right now, we are logging into the client machine and restarting/rebooting them, then restarting the services. As some of our processes run at night, we won't know that the service is down since our processes run 24/7. This issue is then escalated to the manager. This is the current challenge that we are facing, and we would like them to improve this."
"There could be improvement in the reporting and insights into the ROI. The ROI tool that shows the performance and the return on investment is not very accurate."
"The inclusion of word packages would help us to extract data from Word and automate word-related activities easily."
"The version control could be improved and made consistent. There is a discrepancy between the versions on premise and the cloud versions."
"The pricing was a bit high, from what I understand. That might have played a role in the decision to migrate to another solution."
"Blue Prism is slightly difficult for the non-technical user."
"The vendor does not make their pricing clear when you are searching for it, which is something that needs to be improved."
"Blue Prism should adopt a low-code approach. Most RPA vendors only provide what they call a "form builder." A low-code designer would enable us to build a custom UI."
"I wouldn't call Blue Prism user-friendly. It's one of its downfalls. They would benefit from having drag and drop functionality, for example. It would make them a strong competitor in the space. There needs to be less reliance on coding for customization, similar to Microsoft's Power Automate."
"I wouldn't call Blue Prism user-friendly. It's one of its downfalls."
"Blue Prism Cloud needs to improve its AI capabilities."
"IBM's Problem Management Report team isn't that effective. They're not helpful at all in some cases, and it can take two to three weeks to escalate to a higher PMR level."
"I give the scalability of the solution a six out of ten."
"When a client's requirement is not available in Datacap, out-of-the-box actions should be simpler to implement and not very complex."
"Third-party integration could be improved; it's very slow."
"The user interfaces for exception processing can be tweaked. I commonly find that we try to tweak and customize some of those components to more of what the industry standard is. The product is still trying to play catch-up a little bit in those areas."
"I've faced some bugs or issues. They should do deeper testing of the product before releasing it because some of the bugs that I found were a bit simple. I understand that it is a massive product, and some of the functionalities can get overlooked."
"The Arabic OCR in IBM DataCap is not accurate forcing us to use other solutions that have better Arabic OCR which is an additional cost."
"I would like to see integration of Watson AI technology into Datacap."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing that we received from Automation Anywhere in the beginning was very economical for us. We've seen a lot of benefit from what we spent to what we're receiving. From the beginning, it's been a very low-cost implementation for us."
"Our licensing costs are setup on an annual basis."
"It is not cheap, with costs ranging between 700 to 800 dollars per month. While Power Automate is cheaper at 15 dollars per month, Automation Anywhere offers superior features, user-friendliness, and smoothness."
"We purchase on a bot basis. Our costs are approximately $5,000."
"We have seen ROI on one of the process, but not on the other processes yet."
"The pricing strategy for us is one license for development. It is more complicated than that depending on the options you choose."
"Automation Anywhere is expensive, making it more suitable for enterprise organizations."
"I think it's $5,500 per license."
"The licensing structure is complex and the minimum contract length is three years."
"Blue Prism comes at a higher price point compared to other solutions on the market."
"I am not sure how we are set up today, but I recall we had an annual License."
"When compared with UiPath, I believe it will be difficult for Blue Prism to maintain its market share."
"There are many RPA solutions available from different vendors and the pricing for Blue Prism is competitive."
"There are costs for the machine to run the robots."
"I would rate the pricing a five out of ten, with one being cheap and ten being expensive."
"The licensing of the solution is on a subscription-based model and costs around 4,999 for one bot's license. If someone wants to increase the number of bots you want from Blue Prism, then they provide a discount."
"This solution offers seamless integration with other enterprise products, which is my area of responsibility, focusing on government sector projects. Larger enterprise projects don't pose problems. It might be suitable for small businesses as well."
"It is an expensive solution."
"In Egypt, we have exchange rates that change year to year, and currently, we're facing an increase in the exchange rate between our Egyptian pound and the dollar. Since we have been using IBM DataCap two years ago we had a good price, it was not expensive. However, I cannot say now if it is expensive or not because of the exchange rate. Additionally, I don't have the data of other competitors and I don't know the prices."
"If you want IBM Datacap on cloud, which is a service run by IBM, the price can be quite expensive, but if you want to just purchase the licenses and own those yourself, then the price is very competitive."
"This solution offers seamless integration with other enterprise products, which is my area of responsibility, focusing on government sector projects. Larger enterprise projects don't pose problems. It might be suitable for small businesses as well."
"We were using the User Value Unit licensing, which means we get charged per active user of the system, and if I'm not mistaken, we also had it for the rule runner service. They had a PVU license model, which is a processor value unit. For each process that we have in our system, we pay a certain amount of money. We found the pricing to be quite steep. It was really an expensive solution in comparison to Kofax, which had a different licensing model and was actually cheaper overall because they charge per page and not per user and per process."
"You save a lot of time and money, but the benefit is you have people who are able to run the systems, check to see if there are any errors at all, and there are a lot less errors than a human system."
"IBM could offer more competitive pricing. This would allow them to attain more users. Some of our clients are considering moving to a different solution called Encapture which is similar but offers more competitive pricing."
