Impressive flexibility and support enhance integration and performance
The best feature of Blue Prism that I value the most is the simplicity of their pricing and licensing model, which is easy to understand. The tool is very robust and, being a pioneer in the sector, it is also very stable, particularly in finance where many companies rely on Blue Prism for its reliability and security standards. From a developer perspective, I find developing on Blue Prism simple, clean, and intuitive, making maintenance considerably easier compared to other tools. These AI features have helped in developing scalable and flexible solutions for my customers, as I worked on use cases that involved natural language processing to turn free text into structured data, enabling automation of previously unautomatable tasks. Additionally, I processed voice feedback for sentiment analysis and information extraction, making interactions more intuitive and voice-driven for customers.

Suitable for a small-scale business but not evolved enough for a large enterprise
The best thing with that Jacada is that they are a repository builder, which we use for our assessment to gauge and match screens. Jacada has evolved, but I'm not using the latest version. Technically we use our internal product more, which is iAutomate. We also use UiPath and Automation Anywhere…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Blue Prism is a mature, stable product with lots of built-in features."
"It has a centrally managed infrastructure, and it is secure. Our client was using it because of its ease of use. They had already identified some workflows that were trained on Blue Prism RPAs. It was much more convenient for them to preselect Blue Prism as compared to other vendors."
"The ease of use is really good because a lot of business people, who have some idea about logic and who can think in logic, can configure things, because there is no coding."
"For one, it's easy to set up, and once it gets running it can handle multiple processes in an efficient manner. It's a very robust system."
"The most valuable improvement in utilizing process automation is the cost savings, but we have also had cases where the customer experience is enhanced."
"From technical perspective, Blue Prism is pretty good. Overall, it's a stable and scalable solution. Installation is straightforward as well."
"The solution enables process creation and is object oriented."
"It's quite easy to use and easy to understand the process studio."
"The initial setup was fairly straightforward."

Cons

"I don't like that it is so limited, anything that you do feels limited in your capabilities."
"Blue Prism can improve a lot. The interaction with Google Chrome can be massively improved. I know in the next version there are slight improvements. We don't know how much, but we are comparing them. At this moment, Google Chrome is a massive issue within the toolset, due to the way Google Chrome receives updates regularly but Blue Prism is unable to cope. The spy method of Google Chrome is not as user-friendly as Internet Explorer is. However, Internet Explorer is being discontinued from their support, therefore it's not the best browser to be using. This has caused us major issues in the last six months."
"In the next release of this solution, I would like to see support for attended robots."
"I would like to see the vendor improve the efficiency of Blue Prism interaction with applications."
"It's not very easy to use. There is some learning curve that you need to manage as an individual."
"I believe that there could be more community support, or there could be more support for developers like us from Blue Prism. Blue Prism provides a lot of documentation, but there is a lack of support."
"My clients report that there is a little bit of a challenge regarding the cost-benefit ratio."
"The activities that we do are a bit difficult to do in Blue Prism as compared to UiPath. UiPath provides create activities and create packages related to AI analytical skills. This is something that Blue Prism doesn't have."
"They need to create a workflow system."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is expensive for us. It should be cheaper for a market like ours. We are based in India."
"This is a very expensive product and this is the reason that they're losing their market share."
"The tool’s licensing is on a monthly basis."
"The license for Blue Prism is very straightforward, we only need one license."
"I don't recall what it was. Initially, we had our licensing through the consultant, and when we stopped using them, we renegotiated licensing. Blue Prism gave us temporary licenses during the negotiation. When all things were said and done, it came out to a decent price even without the vendor. So, our management has been happy with that."
"Our customers pay for an annual license."
"My clients tend to feel that the overall implementation cost is a little high."
"Blue Prism is a bit higher priced compared to other payment-related or investment-related solutions. At the same time, it also provides more security than those solutions, specifically for the banking and insurance sectors."
