Reduces costs with hardware abstraction and simplifies scaling
There is an issue where, in some situations, I need to scale up by observing both CPU and memory usage of containers, yet under the current options available at Amazon, this is not possible. I have to choose between monitoring CPU or memory to scale my solution. Not every software is built for deployment as a container service, although the current architecture trend is changing this.

An easy-to-use solution that supports multiple integrations
The product is really good, and it is easy to use. It comes with multiple integrations. The solution keeps up with the trend of Microsoft Copilot and AI. The tool's digital mailroom feature can handle documents from multiple sources. This includes incorporating documents from scanners, multifunctional devices, email attachments and various importers. Kofax TotalAgility's OCR capabilities process structured, semi-structured, and unstructured documents. Additionally, it supports both on-demand requests and batch scanning. The main feature I find exceptional about Kofax TotalAgility is its ease of use. While many business process management tools offer similar features, the solution stands out for its simple setup for KPIs and easy configuration of processes and forms. Additionally, it provides auto-generated forms. The solution was also easy to integrate with existing systems and workflows. The tool provides insights into document extraction and classification, including confidence percentages. The system can automatically proceed or route documents for validation based on these metrics. In HR systems, Kofax TotalAgility enables the creation of workflows for employee requests, such as leave approvals, based on predefined criteria like tenure or behavior. Similarly, KPIs can be integrated into customer care to monitor agent performance, tracking metrics like ticket volume and resolution times.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"For an internal project, this is a solution that you can install and have up and running quite quickly."
"We can share, discuss, and develop the model together — from a distance. It's really helped us during these times of isolation."
"One valuable feature of the solution is its flexibility."
"Camunda's process diagram creation and deployment is very easy."
"We have been able to save costs using this solution compared to the product we used before."
"It is an absolutely stable solution."
"The best feature is the automation."
"Camunda's most valuable feature is its ability to integrate with different products."
"Kofax TotalAgility is a single package. They provide you with OCR capabilities, BPM capabilities, and case manager features."
"It's a growing tool that offers a complete package of BPM, case management, and capture capabilities."
"Kofax TotalAgility is a great design tool for reading handwritten invoices."
"One feature I like is that it makes the matrix easy for an unstructured document."
"Essentially, Kofax TotalAgility as a whole is quite nice. As of now, we've only been able to use and explore its document classification and extraction capabilities. We haven't explored and used the case management capability yet, but the scan and capture capabilities we've been using heavily and those are quite good. Our solutions are mainly around those areas of Kofax TotalAgility. We haven't explored the product a lot, but the capabilities we've explored are good."
"Great with recognition providing a high level of confidence."
"What I find most valuable in Kofax TotalAgility is its OCR feature. I also find its workflow and business process management capabilities valuable. Kofax TotalAgility also has good integration with other solutions and has an API call feature."
"Kofax is very easy to use, UI-friendly and allows easy data extraction."

Cons

"If there were some industry templates it would have helped significantly, because it is similar to a process map for a domain. That is what we are currently creating, a domain-relevant process map."
"There is an issue where, in some situations, I need to scale up by observing both CPU and memory usage of containers, yet under the current options available at Amazon, this is not possible."
"I think it would be important to internationalize the Cockpit and the Admin as well as with the Tasklist."
"The solution could use some enhancements like adding connectors, improving forms and having a mobile app, but everything is an enhancement rather than a flaw."
"It would be helpful to have more readily available use cases on the internet. Camunda's documentation feels less comprehensive."
"I don't like the UI of the Camunda Platform, I have found the Signavio solution to be much better for me to create the process designs and execute them. Additionally, I have found the tools in the Camunda Platform are not compatible with some of my other tools. They should improve this in the future."
"I have faced problems in bringing up the Cockpit in terms of GUI processes. I think that there is room for improvement in those areas."
"An improvement would be to support Angular 2 instead of AngularJS, which is quite old."
"Kofax TotalAgility could improve the OTR engine. The page OTR engine is not accurate in predicting the data properly. If you provide many features which are good for business process management without an accurate OTR engine people will not want it."
"TotalAgility needs to improve communication with ECMs or other file storage systems because TotalAgility does not have file storage. A good improvement would be to create file storage or integrate with other file storage tools that are currently available."
"Kofax should improve its handwritten extractions."
"The one thing I would like to see more of right now: is a simplified form creation. That would be the most significant improvement I would like to see in their product."
"Table line item extraction is not possible through Quick Capture."
"Lacks sufficient inbuilt features."
"The product's console version is old. It should also improve its forum."
"There needs to be more accessible certification and better pricing."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is good for a startup. When we started, its price was fair, but the way we are using it to orchestrate microservices makes it expensive. When you are growing as a company, you would have more microservices, and you would have more users. There is an exponential effect when you are growing in terms of the number of conditions, processes, and users because they bill you per process. So, the price was increasing very quickly for us, and it was very difficult."
"Camunda is much cheaper."
"I tried to get some information about buying the license for the solution, but I found it kind of hard to understand the business model."
"We use the open-source version, which can be used at no cost."
"While the license isn't budget-friendly, careful consideration and calculated planning for a significant number of licenses can make it more cost-effective."
"Licensing costs are anywhere from $80,000 to $100,000 USD per year."
"The product's price depends on the number of processes that need to be automated or where the orchestration part needs to be used. The product is affordable for medium and large enterprises."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"It is slightly more expensive than other tools."
"The price of this solution is less than some of the competition."
"Kofax TotalAgility is very expensive."
"The licensing cost for Kofax TotalAgility is very expensive, though I'm unable to give you the range, the sales representatives of my company say that the product is quite expensive."
"It has a perpetual license. You pay once in a lifetime for the volume of scans you will do and the number of users you will have. You can have participants or regular users, and you can have developers and administrators. So, once you purchase it, it is for a lifetime, and then every year, you have to pay for the maintenance. There is an annual maintenance cost, which is about 18% of the licensing cost."
