Offers inventory management, basic ERP functions but outdated interface
The interface looks a bit outdated. Epicor acquired iScala, which was originally developed in Sweden. I'm unsure if their intention is to eventually replace iScala with their primary Epicor ERP or continue developing iScala. Initially, it seemed they might replace it, but it appears iScala will remain a separate product.

Improved manufacturing processes have supported flexible dimensions and strong integrated workflows
I think the integration capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics AX need to be enhanced. There are many features for integration, such as APIs and connectors, but I need more ready APIs that link directly. I think it would be better to make APIs for each module in Microsoft Dynamics AX, so integration can be easier directly. For example, sales orders, sales quotations, and GL entries should each have direct APIs to facilitate linking to other systems, making the integration stronger. Real-time analytics is not strong unless I add a Power BI tool. In finance and operations, the new version of Microsoft Dynamics AX is very good, even excellent, but in previous versions, it needs to be linked to a Power BI tool to have strong real-time analytics. There is a gap for improvement in support. Microsoft support can be very hard to reach and often does not provide proper support for general issues, with responses sometimes being too detailed and not addressing the core issues quickly, which leads me to sometimes solve problems myself.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The accounting, purchasing, and basic ERP functions work well. But they are a little bit older, but they work for us. The inventory management is good and necessary for any company that manages stock for production or services."
"One of the valuable features of the solution is how easy it is to use."
"The performance is good."
"The finance and finance reporting features are good."
"Using it, we can provide quick, thorough, and more effective service to our customers."
"The most valuable features of Microsoft Dynamics AX are field services and the vendor collaboration portal. Both of the features are very good."
"The product's most valuable features are its day-to-day operations, Power BI-driven workspaces, and homepage."
"This solution's most valuable feature is its workflow for purchase orders and inventory."
"The most valuable features of Microsoft Dynamics AX are ease of use and performance."

Cons

"We're facing challenges with iScala in the public sector, specifically healthcare. The system doesn't have sufficient support for the complexities of managing payments for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff."
"There is room for improvement when handling various currencies within the current Microsoft Dynamics AX system."
"The initial setup can be complex at times and has room for improvement."
"The on-premises and desktop versions are not user-friendly."
"At times there are issues related to reporting, sometimes with the integration between two or three modules, and sometimes to the logic itself."
"The support here in Turkey could be better. However, the international support is good."
"Microsoft needs more presence in our region to help with management and maintenance."
"The product is standardised across industries so it is not a good fit for all types of sectors."
"Even with the POS version, if we go above a certain limit, we can have performance issues."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to local ERP solutions, it's on the higher side."
"The yearly licenses are priced okay."
"It is not the cheapest solution, but it is also not the most expensive one. It's in between and is cheaper than SAP but more expensive than other local vendors. It is worth the cost."
"There is an annual licensing cost for Microsoft Dynamics AX."
"Microsoft Dynamics AX is expensive."
"I purchased the license once, and there is a license with a partner that I pay for annually."
"It has a pay-as-you-go subscription."
"The product's license is expensive. My company is located in a region where we have to pay the most for the tool due to our currency and inflation scenario."
"The tool's licensing model is based on user subscription. The pricing needs to be reduced for the Indian and South Asian markets."
