Broken from the beginning and never functioned as anticipated
They had a major issue that resulted at one point (the straw that broke the camel's back for us, although we'd been fighting with support for months by that point in time) in which every Kaseya VSA customer was offline for two weeks. This vulnerability pushed us over the edge. It never functioned as intended. If it functioned as it was supposed to, it would've been fantastic. However, the previous solution we used just performed reliably and so much better. I can't say that there was anything positive about my experience. The intent of the software, other than integrations, is to be able to just make an anytime secure direct connection to an endpoint. However, whenever we would connect, at least half the time, it would not record keystrokes properly, no matter what system we connected from. So if you're trying to enter a password, there'd be 2-3 seconds' latency in the response and then it would just spew out a bunch of letters and numbers you didn't type in. You would just try, try, try again to type in something, and just half the time it worked, half the time it didn't. If you brought up more than three or four endpoints simultaneously, it never worked. It was a major point of contention for us. For us, at least, it just didn't work. It just was broken. Scripting didn't fire, reports didn't come back, and monitoring wasn't there. A server goes down or a router goes offline, no notification. Stuff like that. Bush league.

Easy to install and has lots of resources but need to improve performance
It's a remote access solution. We use it for conferences, meetings, and communication.  It works just like other communications tools. It also integrates well with Office 365 and Outlook, et cetera. The performance is good.  It's got a lot of resources for users.  The product is easy to install.…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution is our RMM tool and we love the deployment features."
"The most valuable part of this solution is the security features that it offers."
"Kaseya VSA's best features are auditing and reporting."
"Provides efficient automation."
"Kesaya is highly configurable."
"When compared to what we were previously using, one of the most appealing features is that it combines remote control, patch management, and software management into a single portal."
"The backup tool is highly useful, offering a fast and efficient way to retrieve and restore data."
"The ease of access and ease of use was great."
"Ease of use was the number-one thing. It's an industry leader for ease of use, specifically on the client-side, which is the absolutely critical thing. If I want to connect to somebody, how easily can I — without seeing their computer — walk them through the steps to install it to a point where I can key in the code and help them resolve their situation?... TeamViewer is just a dead-solid, easy answer."
"TeamViewer has been one of the easiest, right off the bat products, that we have employed at the college. We have had no issues. It's been one of the easiest solutions to pick up."
"The most valuable features of TeamViewer are the high performance and it is not complicated to use, neither for me nor for the one I'm helping."
"TeamViewer is a scalable solution."
"The most valuable feature of TeamViewer is user-friendliness."
"The most valuable features of I use TeamViewer are the ease of access and frequent updates."
"It's a user-friendly product."
"The most important feature of TeamViewer is its ease of use."

Cons

"I have encountered scalability issues."
"Some configurations and abilities from the system are not of use. The solution should offer webinars or some sort of training offerings to help users learn what the system can do and how it can be done."
"The audit and KNM tools could improve."
"It never functioned as intended."
"The network monitoring module today is not the best one."
"The predefined reports are not up to the mark and you have to do a lot of customization."
"The solution is hard to use at first until you understand how it works."
"If you compare with other products, Manage Engine has some features that we like but are not present in Kaseya."
"Sometimes, the app can be a little cumbersome when accessing certain aspects of the program."
"Support for mobile devices from Linux has been missing since the Native client was rolled out. This was a nice option, especially when trying to walk somebody who was struggling to understand something on their phone."
"We access the solution through a VPN, which improves our security. However, earlier this year, around the beginning of March, a CVE in the TeamViewer client allowed remote connections to other network systems, which was concerning. You could have unintentionally gained admin rights if you didn't update TeamViewer promptly. It's crucial to always keep it updated to prevent such issues. The tool should consider implementing two-factor authentication to improve such security holes. It should also integrate good security updates, which should be implemented automatically."
"There is a paid version of this solution with more features available. However, they should provide more free features to the user, such as factor authentication."
"TeamViewer could improve by having a cloud version. Having the solution on the system could cause some cyber security concerns with data."
"They could give more information about using certain kinds of applications for secure transactions, such as secure file transfers."
"Some of the additional features, like the meeting stuff, is making it too cluttered."
"The product's expensive nature is an area of concern where improvements are required."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"You're going to pay for this solution, but you're going to get so much more out of it in reporting, asset management, and the ability to manage your clients. I would recommend giving Kaseya serious consideration and I would recommend implementing it."
"We were looking at a price of $22.50 cents per user."
"I think it costs more than ManageEngine."
"The solution is robust and the price is good for the features that are provided."
"It is not expensive. Anyone can afford it. Most of the time, we get a discount for licenses. We had about 5,000 agents, and we received a discount on the price. There is only the licensing cost. If you use the on-prem version, you also have the infrastructure cost."
"It is, in my opinion, competitive in the market. It is determined by the number of users and licenses needed. Depending on the license count of users, the price ranges from $10 to $80 USD."
"The solution's pricing is reasonable."
"With the on-prem, you buy the agent license. That's a one-time fee, and it varies depending on how many you have. You also pay annual maintenance on the number that you have. So, there are two fees involved: a one-time fee and a recurring fee."
"There is a free and paid version of this solution. I am currently using the free version."
"...it will cost you $1,500 to $1,600 a year, but when I think of how much work I do through TeamViewer..."
"TeamViewer has multiple licensing options."
"TeamViewer offers a free version to try. Download and give it a shot. See what it's like and if you like it, then buy the license for it."
"We are using the free version of TeamViewer."
"TeamViewer pricing is reasonable... The simultaneous controller licensing model of TeamViewer - compared to LogMeIn’s controlled Host licensing model - seems to benefit us so far. We’re currently saving about 30 percent on licensing cost... The savings from licensing have been eaten up by the soft costs involved in dealing with and working around TeamViewer’s deficiencies in allowing granular control by multiple controllers, and the issues with the various settings that are missing on the macOS Host."
"It would be nice if it is cheaper."
"It does what I need it to do but I think it's expensive. It wasn't easy for me to get approval from the company to get it... It's costing us about $700 a year, per license."
