Saves a huge amount of time and enhances reliability in automation processes
Pros and Cons
  • "The feature most useful for integrating different applications is its ability to create flows. Specifically, we use flows to integrate with finance and operations."
  • "Enhancing Power Automate to work synchronously instead of asynchronously would eliminate the need for additional coding, saving time in project implementation."

What is our primary use case?

Our clients utilize Power Automate for data collection and management in various ways. One primary use is integrating Customer Engagement (CE) with finance, operations, or other business systems. Additionally, we employ Power Automate to facilitate additional processes, such as automating workflows.

What needs improvement?

Firstly, enhancing Power Automate to work synchronously instead of asynchronously would eliminate the need for additional coding, saving time in project implementation. Secondly, addressing the limitations on the number of processes in Power Automate tracking would enhance its usability and flexibility for various scenarios. Incorporating a more intuitive user interface or experience would be beneficial for overall solution implementation. While PowerApps can provide this to some extent, it faces limitations, particularly with large datasets. Overcoming these challenges through enhancements or optimization would be valuable for implementing enterprise-class solutions effectively.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Microsoft Power Automate for 2 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the platform's stability an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Certain limitations apply to product scalability in enterprise environments or critical systems. We work with medium-sized businesses.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment time depends on specific project requirements. Complicated configurations take three to four months to complete, while certain simple projects can be completed within two weeks.

I rate the process an eight out of ten.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

When we purchase the Microsoft Dynamics license, the Power Automate license is often free, albeit with some limitations, such as a certain number of transactions per user. Given the substantial allocation provided, this arrangement typically suffices for most users. However, if premium features are desired or the project demands exceed the allocated resources, additional charges may apply accordingly.

I rate the pricing a six out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

One of the automations we've implemented with Power Automate that significantly saves time involves discount application on quotations. When a discount is applied at the quotation level, we utilize it to automatically apply line-level discounts to the respective lines, distributing them equally.

The feature most useful for integrating different applications is its ability to create flows. Specifically, we use flows to integrate with finance and operations.

The cloud-based nature of Power Automate has greatly benefited our workflows. It operates exclusively on the cloud, eliminating the need for on-premises deployment. It enables low-code development, eliminating the need to create plugins. It saves a significant amount of time, reduces efforts, and enhances reliability in our automation processes.

I rate it an eight out of ten.

Provides valuable integration with other Microsoft tools
Pros and Cons
  • "The product provides valuable integration with other Microsoft tools."
  • "AI-enabled voice recognition features could be included in the product."

What is our primary use case?

We use the product to automate tasks and reduce manual work in our organization. It helps set up a workflow to send a daily email reminder at a specific time, eliminating the need for manual intervention and ensuring timely reminders. It integrates Outlook as well.

What is most valuable?

The product provides valuable integration with other Microsoft tools. Azure Logistics can refresh the data and convert images into PDFs and Excel sheets automatically.

What needs improvement?

AI-enabled voice recognition features could be included in the product. It could help us develop the entire listing with one click. It could involve importing YAML models to enhance the tool's ability to comprehend and respond to user instructions.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Microsoft Power Automate for around four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable platform without bugs.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have 30 account members for the product in our organization. We can give access to more users.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Our company decided to use Microsoft products, including Microsoft Power Automate, due to factors such as widespread usage across the globe, ease of access, and simplified licensing.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup process involves three trigger points. One is a manual trigger, where users interact with a button or interface element to start the flow. The second is the recurrence trigger, which allows users to schedule automated maintenance at a specific time. Third is a data-driven trigger, where the flow is initiated based on an event in a database, such as creating a new line item in  SharePoint database. Once triggered, the flow continues to execute, performing the configured actions and providing the results.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is a per-user licensing model for individual users, which typically costs around $10 to $12 per user per month. If purchasing for a team, the cost per person may be slightly lower, around $9 to $10 per user per month. Pro licensing may cost around $5 to $6 more per user per month compared to the standard licensing.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend Microsoft Power Automate to others and rate it a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Reasonably priced and great for creating attended or unattended bots
Pros and Cons
  • "It makes work easier."
  • "Sometimes there are issues with security policies within the company. Some parts get blacked. There are some drawbacks when we use it connected to the cloud. We need to convince clients to open some parts. This is often an issue that originates from the company itself, not Power Automate."

What is our primary use case?

We help clients integrate Power Automate into their processes.

What is most valuable?

The solution is great for attended or unattended bots. It makes work easier.

Most clients that use Office 365 find it very easy to use this solution. There are lots of great integration points. It can connect with various Mircosoft products, like Microsoft Dynamics ERP.

It allows clients to existing in one main environment, which is quite useful.

The setup is very easy.

What needs improvement?

We use the connector to the cloud, and we have noted that sometimes there are delays. We've seen some scenarios hang. Sometimes there are issues with security policies within the company. Some parts get blacked. There are some drawbacks when we use it connected to the cloud. We need to convince clients to open some parts. This is often an issue that originates from the company itself, not Power Automate

Sometimes when we work with Microsoft Excel, the process is not much faster. The automation doesn't speed up as much as we would hope as they go through cells one by one. If it is a time-sensitive activity, that might be an issue and should be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution. I'd rate the stability seven out of ten. The issue is that there are some security policies from the company side, or sometimes some updates that happen that can slow things down or stop the process altogether.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution can scale well. I'd rate it seven out of ten. If a product is on a particular machine, if we want to scale up, we need to use another machine or account.

The product can work for any type of company, from small to large.

How are customer service and support?

We've contacted technical support in the past, and it has been very good. We haven't had any issues with support and are happy with the level of service.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I also use UiPath as well. We use either or, depending on the client or the requirement.

The main difference is the price. Microsoft is cheaper than UiPath.

The AI capabilities for Microsoft are very good. With UiPath, sometimes you even have to use modules from Microsoft.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very simple. It is simple. It's similar to other tools.

What about the implementation team?

We can help implement the solution for clients.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is reasonable. I'd rate the affordability eight out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. We've been pretty happy with its capabilities.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Straightforward setup, stable, and scalable
Pros and Cons
  • "The most advantageous aspect of the solution is its cloud capabilities."
  • "When it comes to cloud computing, there are many limitations when dealing with large amounts of data."

What is our primary use case?

Microsoft Power Automate is deployed in the Azure cloud. Microsoft has a version of Power Automate Desktop to develop desktop flows and that's also saved in the cloud. We use Microsoft Power Automate on the project site. We have done a few projects on the site and the solution is used for video processing automation.

What is most valuable?

The most advantageous aspect of the solution is its cloud capabilities. With an E3 license, we can access Microsoft Power Automate at a reduced cost. If we are only using the application, we need the Microsoft Power Automate attended mode add-on. Other than that, the solution is free, since all customers are using a Microsoft-based license for their communication and an E3 license for the add-ons.

What needs improvement?

When it comes to cloud computing, there are many limitations when dealing with large amounts of data. For example, if we are managing more than 10,000 or 1 million records, the API layer has some redundancies. These limitations take a lot of time to process. For example, if we have 10,000 records, our cloud workflow will take more than three hours to complete. Clearly, there is room for improvement in the workflow process.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is highly stable due to its use of Azure cloud services, boasting a 99.9 percent stability rate.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable; we can introduce multiple bots and a multiple-bot architecture is available. Therefore, scalability is possible with Microsoft Power Automate. We need to develop our own architecture to handle the multiple bots, share records, and share the workload with the bots.

How are customer service and support?

We created a few tickets with Microsoft technical support regarding a time issue. We then created a workflow that initiated cloud workflow and handed it over to the Microsoft Power Automate desktop, which took some time. The flow worked, but after an hour and a half, it automatically disconnected due to either a lack of available sessions or an error. We created a ticket and Microsoft resolved it quickly, taking only one day. The issue was caused by the group policy, which had enabled a session timeout of between 30 minutes and an hour, resulting in the issue.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is quite straightforward. We can create a production environment and a development box. We can then move our solution to the UID environment and then to production. The deployment process takes two to three days.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is $150 per month for the unattended add-on, and the normal Power Automate comes with an E3 license.

What other advice do I have?

I give the solution a nine out of ten.

The solution is more cost-effective. We were initially going to convert the customer's automation because they already use the Microsoft Platform.

Microsoft Power Automate has plenty of examples and templates. It is easy for new users to start development. I recommend the solution.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

Fairest licensing, high ROI, excellent support, and easy deployment
Pros and Cons
  • "Triggering and scheduling were pretty good. There was no real commitment with WinAutomation because the licensing was very fair and you could trigger bots very easily."
  • "They've already improved it, but I guess a testing suite would be nice to be able to test your automations in real time."

What is our primary use case?

We were a partner with Softomotive before they were acquired by Microsoft, and now, we are a partner with Microsoft. We have quite a bit of expertise in WinAutomation. Microsoft has depreciated it, and it's now a part of Power Automate, but we still help out clients with it even though it's deprecated.

Its use cases were the same as any other RPA product. It was basically used for automating any repetitive process, which could be anything from filings to transferring data between software to triggering different processes via email or databases and so on and so forth.

What is most valuable?

Triggering and scheduling were pretty good. There was no real commitment with WinAutomation because the licensing was very fair and you could trigger bots very easily.

What needs improvement?

They've already improved it, but I guess a testing suite would be nice to be able to test your automations in real time.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's pretty stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

They had a second piece of software called ProcessRobot, which was kind of WinAutomation's big brother. That was a scalable solution, but all that is depreciated now.

How are customer service and support?

At the time, the tech support was excellent.

How was the initial setup?

Deployment was very easy. You just installed the software, and then you installed a couple of plug-ins and browsers, and you were ready to go.

The number of people required for maintenance depends on the size of the deployment. You can have one bot, you can have ten bots, or you can have a thousand bots.

What was our ROI?

It provided an extremely high return on investment. When you automate processes, you're oftentimes being able to scale very easily, and you have a very high ROI.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It had by far the fairest licensing on the market. For the money, you got a very good value.

What other advice do I have?

If you're planning on implementing the product, start off with simple automations and take your time to learn, understand best practices, and understand error handling. A lot of issues come out of improper error handling and no best practices. Start simple and don't be afraid to ask questions.

There are a lot of different products out there that are competitors to this. Microsoft now has Power Automate, which is basically WinAutomation with a lot more web connectivity and a much larger ecosystem. It's extremely powerful, and you have lots of UIs, front ends, chatbots, AI, and so on and so forth. I highly recommend it, and then you have UiPath, which is geared toward enterprises. The licensing structure is much more expensive, and they have some powerful tools over there. You have Automation Anywhere, which seemed to have been a direct competitor. It was more expensive, but it was also very powerful. You have Blue Prism. You have Robocorp. There are a lot of them.

Back in the day, I would rate it a 9 out of 10. For the money, it was an excellent deal. It was very low cost compared to the competitors, and it performed 75% of what the competitors did. If your use case could fit within its capabilities, it was an excellent deal.

Allows employees to create and automate workflows and tasks across various applications
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution has saved us hours of work."
  • "I would like to see better data integration with different sources."

What is our primary use case?

We mainly use it in connection with our drug inventories. We use Power Automate to import the files we get from various wholesalers. We also check the prices in our back office.

We are a pharmaceutical compounds organization and also get prescriptions. We have a portal where GPs and doctors can prescribe patients. At the moment, we are looking to put more data into the database so that we can see some statistics from Power BI.

How has it helped my organization?

The solution has saved us hours of work. The solution does the work instead of employees.

What is most valuable?

What needs improvement?

We are looking for more data integration with various resources. Our plan is to have a deeper look at it in November when we are in Seattle for the two conferences. We would like to consolidate the data from various sources and extract it in order to analyze it. We used an RPA tool and looked at the ML part of it as well.

I would like to see better data integration with different sources.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have using Microsoft Automate for a year and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution. I rate the stability an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution. Presently, three to four hundred users use the solution and all our clients are small organizations. I would rate it a seven out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support team is good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is moderately straightforward. The deployment takes a week's time. I would rate the initial setup a seven out of ten.

What about the implementation team?

The deployment is done by consultants.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution's price is reasonable. I rate the pricing a five out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend the solution but I would advise people to get a consultant even if they know someone who has knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate, as it is the fastest way to automate it. I would rate the overall solution a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

The solution is cost-effective and provides excellent AI features, but the tool must be more stable and provide more integration with other applications
Pros and Cons
  • "AI Builder is a good add-on."
  • "The tool must be more stable."

What is our primary use case?

We can automate cloud flows using the product. We can use desktop flows in the product as an RPA tool. If we are working on any enterprise application like SAP, we can automate it using the tool. Power Automate Desktop is a relatively newer solution compared to UiPath.

How has it helped my organization?

The solution helps us save money and time. We automate the rule-based and repeated tasks that we do on a daily basis.

What is most valuable?

Every organization uses Microsoft products. Daily tasks and other basic Excel-based tasks can be easily done using the tool. AI Builder is a good add-on. We can very easily do some AI automation using it.

What needs improvement?

The tool must be more stable. It should also provide more integration with other applications.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for one year. I am using both the on-premises and the cloud version of the solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Power Automate is not that well-established and stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

UiPath is more scalable than Power Automate. We have a good team developing flows on Power Automate. The product is available for everyone in our organization. More than 2000 or 3000 people might be using the tool in our organization.

How was the initial setup?

It is relatively easy to deploy the solution when it is part of the license we buy for the organization.

What about the implementation team?

The product’s maintenance is handled by a separate support team in our company. Maintenance is needed only when an application does not work or if there is any movement in the cloud.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product is cost-effective if we utilize the complete Microsoft package. Power Automate is comparatively less costly than UiPath.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

UiPath is more stable than Power Automate. UiPath has Orchestrator from where all the processes are monitored, triggered, or scheduled. This feature in UiPath is far better than Power Automate. Power Automate does not have a very good orchestrator or control room to see all the processes which are running. If an organization needs a long-term solution, it might choose UiPath.

What other advice do I have?

Power Automate is improving, and it can be a good solution in the future. Power Automate is a good tool. An organization should definitely leverage the tool if they use Microsoft’s environment. It is a good add-on. We are using many Microsoft products like Power BI. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Easy to use, cost-effective solution to automate internal processes
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is relatively easy to use and cost-effective."
  • "The UI of the solution is not so good."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution to automate internal processes like leave applications.

What is most valuable?

The solution is relatively easy to use and cost-effective. It is also easy to learn and understand. It is part of Microsoft 365, so it's free. Additionally, it is easy to integrate Microsoft Teams with the solution.

What needs improvement?

The UI of the solution is not so good. Power BI's reporting functionality should be improved.

The next release should include more functionalities and better reporting.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the stability an eight or nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the scalability a seven or eight out of ten. Around 50 people in the organization use the solution, including five to seven administrators, 30 to 40 engineers, and nine to ten sales and marketing staff.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously we used Google Suite in collaboration with many other solutions. We needed it for process automation and for creating electronic signatures. It required us to subscribe to multiple solutions. However, we wanted only one or two platforms. So, we switched to Microsoft.

What about the implementation team?

The solution is not so difficult to deploy. The deployment takes up to two hours. I could deploy the solution myself. One engineer is enough for the maintenance of the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is free with Microsoft 365.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Microsoft Power Automate to those who use Microsoft 365. We search the instruction manual, FAQs, and other online documents when we face issues with the solution. Overall, I rate the product a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
