What is our primary use case?

We use the solution as a business process automation tool. It allows one to automate an application in his organization. 

What is most valuable?

The solution is not only meant for SharePoint, but for everything.  It has millions of connectors. The best feature of the tool is that it is generic, so it allows one to do as he wishes. He can obtain data from Twitter and put it on his SQL Server. He can obtain data from WordPress and connect it with IBM. 

What needs improvement?

The solution could have more integration with different platforms. 

The licensing price is too high. 

For how long have I used the solution?

Microsoft Power Automate has only been released recently, so I have been using it for the past three or four years.

The solution does not require deployment, but a team is needed for development and this will vary with the scope of the project. Every site would require around eight to ten people.

The licensing price should be more cost-effective. 

As we are talking about a Microsoft product, the licensing can be purchased on a monthly or yearly basis. 

What other advice do I have?

The solution is both cloud-based and on-premises. 

We are consultants of Power Automate. We do not use the solution ourselves. 

So far, we have handled 14 or 15 projects and are working on one at present. 

I would recommend the solution to others. 

I rate Microsoft Power Automate as an eight out of ten.

The solution can be primarily used small process automation of day-to-day activities, such as routing of emails, Excel sheet manipulation, and more.

What is most valuable?

The solution is very scalable.

The solution is easy to use. 

The initial setup is pretty straightforward. 

Technical support has been great so far. 

If a company already uses a lof to Microsoft applications, this solution is great. 

What needs improvement?

The solution should offer similar features that users can easily access if they use Automation Anywhere or UiPath.

It would be great if it was able to integrate more with various other platforms. It would make development easier. 

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been dealing with the solution for two years at this point. 

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product can scale well. If a company needs to expand its use, it can do so.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support has been great. They are helpful and responsive and I have no complaints. 

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I'm also aware of solutions such as Automation Anywhere and UiPath. They, at this point, are much more feature-rich.

How was the initial setup?

As a cloud-based solution that is very easy to implement. It's not overly complex or difficult. It doesn't take too much time to deploy.

You only need two or three people to deploy and implement the product in an organization. You don't need a big team. 

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution offers a yearly subscription package. 

What other advice do I have?

I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten. Currently, we have ten customers that are using the solution. 

I would recommend the solution to other companies and users, however, only if they have a Microsoft suite of products that are in use and they already have a license based on that usage.

What is our primary use case?

We've just started with the solution. 

We are exploring Power Automate and trying to get rid of some of the mundane tasks and we're seeking ways to increase the productivity. We're trying to do the automation on it. 

It's not my day-to-day work; I'm into infrastructure. I'm basically heading the APAC team here in the APAC region. I got a request from a couple of users to get rid of the setup of mundane tasks. 

What is most valuable?

The solution is booming at the moment. They're adding lots of features all of the time. 

The initial setup is very simple.

There's a great community around the product that is very helpful and active.

The solution is free to use if you have a Microsoft E3 license. 

What needs improvement?

Power Automate has a lot to do. What I've seen, for example, is that UiPath seems to be very efficient and you don't need to have any sort of training. With Power Automate, training is needed. You need to know how to work with pretty advanced queries. They need to add more training materials to their offering. 

It's not as user-friendly as a solution such as UiPath, which is really easy to use. 

Creating unattended bots is quite expensive. 

Having the connectors with multiple platforms would be great. They have connectors for SAP, yet they don't have a connector for the Oracle ERP, for example, or Oracle HCM. They should come up with multiple connectors where it would ease integrating with any other tool, rather than having to create a custom connector and trying to integrate with a third-party tool. UiPath offers multiple connectors and it is very useful. It makes our life very simple. On the fly, we should be able to integrate and talk to the other applications directly without struggling.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been working with the solution for just six months. It's only been half of a year so far. 

How are customer service and support?

The community that surrounds the product is very active and quite helpful. 

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very easy. It was very simple. In order to do automation, it is very easy to configure everything. It's also easy to maintain. The only part that is kind of complex, for example, is where you have to get into the website to get the data and try to feed the data into an Excel sheet. That happens if you're trying to automate some complex yet mundane task. That's where it helps to have someone on board that knows what they are doing and understands the solution quite well.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Since we are on E3, we get Power Automate as a free service from Microsoft, for everybody in the organization.

I'm from India and anything that I look at, in terms of pricing, be it UiPath or Power Automate the pricing appears to be on the higher side. That said, we're on the E3 Microsoft license and the price for Power Automate comes along with that, as a part of the subscription. It basically covers the basic functionality of Power Automate. In that sense, it doesn't hurt us too much. However, if I have to go set up an unattended bot, it is very expensive. That's something that for sure that I would like to highlight with Power Automate. If you'd like to go for an unattended bot it's quite expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have looked at other solutions. I was exploring and trying to compare which is the right tool for our environment. I was trying to compare where exactly Microsoft intersects with other services such as UiPath or Automation Anywhere.

We'll likely stay with Power Automate. Power Automate fits our requirements in terms of what we are looking for. If anything is required in terms of the desktop automation that would require us to buy a separate license we may move to something else, however, at this point, we do not really foresee anything that we couldn't do with this product.

What other advice do I have?

I would urge users to stay on top of Microsoft by leveraging the community. They're very cooperative and trying to support us when we ask questions in the community, there'll be somebody who will always jump in and try to help us out. There are multiple forums, apart from the Microsoft community as well. I see multiple websites or blogs where you could find the solution for a question you have. There is a lot of documentation out there.

For working a bit with the solution and comparing it to options such as Automation Anywhere and UiPath, I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten so far.

What is our primary use case?

Our use cases are everything from replacing Excel macros to replacing WINAutomate to larger initiatives to use RPAbox to fill in different back-office systems and so on. We have a huge range of solutions.

What is most valuable?

In terms of the most valuable features, the RPA is really great.

What needs improvement?

The license cost could be better.

The PMU connectors we can use cost extra, and the RPA also costs extra. So hopefully they can let go of that way of working and allow us to use the entire tool in a better way. That's what we're looking for.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for approximately three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is great. I know we don't have a problem with stability in this case.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

To implement the solution or share the solution with others, you can scale it up; but we don't scale in that perspective when it comes to add more functionality. We have other solutions when it comes to larger initiatives. Microsoft platform is used for something happens over here, do this. Or we are using Box, but when it comes to larger initiative, we're using Nintex. It's longer processes and longer workflows. It's easier to use. So when we scale up, we switch to another application actually.

How are customer service and support?

We have talked to Microsoft. We're a large company and we're talking to Microsoft on a regular basis. We have a partner we talk to when it comes to Automate. We are absolutely satisfied with technical support.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was quite simple, actually.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented both with help from the vendor and within the company. Some using our own expectation in Office, but we have some vendors we had contact with.

We need to keep track that we are compliant regarding the license, but other than that, it's quite easy to maintain and govern. We have approximately 50 users in different countries in Europe.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Microsoft is connected very well with Microsoft products. Everything in the master suite is really easy to connect to, and the Blue Prism is for large initiatives. What I heard from the developers using Blue Prism is it's easier to overview quite complex scenarios actually. Power Automate is a little harder to have the overlook of what you have done in the script.

I'd rate the solution a seven out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

Start using the solution at a small scale, and create some smaller script of your own. Then you can see what can be done and easily grow with a task and try features for the department you're working in to share with your colleagues. You'll have an understanding of how to automate, and you can see the business from the other's perspective. That's what we have done. Start small and go big.

What is our primary use case?

We implemented this solution for our clients and the primary aim was to create a chatbot that would provide service answers to customers. If the chatbot wasn't able to help, the query moved to a ticketing tool like ServiceNow, which creates the ticket and assigns it to the appropriate team. For logging purposes, the ticket is logged with ServiceNow and it provides the solution to the end-user through the chatbot. I'm a senior manager and we are Microsoft gold partners. 

How has it helped my organization?

This product improves the way an organization functions by creating monitoring solutions. One of the things we can do now is to enable the system to inform the service people before end-users log a ticket because the system can be monitored in advance. Those tickets will be created by the system itself so that the service provider can take action before being contacted by the end-users. It improves the quality of the service. 

What is most valuable?

The value is that the whole platform seamlessly integrates well and that there are enough connectors to the majority of the systems for the SAP connection, or ServiceNow connection, or an email connection, or SharePoint connection. There are a number of connectors already built-in. It doesn't require writing any extra code, it's a low code solution platform so it's easy and faster to create solutions.

What needs improvement?

Things need to be improved with respect to RPA kinds of solutions and it requires a level of stabilization that is currently lacking. 

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for two years. 

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable. I haven't found many issues because when we design and implement we have a lot of experience behind us so we plan ahead and know what we're doing. 

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This solution is scalable. 

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is there with Microsoft depending on what kind of a subscription and relationship you have with them. Support ranges from standard to premium. Things are not always solved in a single instance and they'll sometimes tell you that what's been implemented is not supported. 

How was the initial setup?

It is a very easy and straightforward deployment process. If you are going to implement a very complex solution, something that's automated with a DevOps process, and many teams are involved, then it may require some extra people. It depends on the complexity of what you plan to build, the number of systems, etc. We have our own internal team that carries out the implementation. 

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There are multiple layers of licensing; there is a subscription license and if you want to use any premium connectors, then you need to have a separate license. RPA solutions also require a separate license and if you want to use any AI features, there's a separate license for that too, it depends on your requirements. 

What other advice do I have?

Before implementing this solution, be aware that there may be limitations within the system or within the platform that might not be suitable for your needs.

I rate this solution eight out of 10.

This solution is used for the automation of simple processes that are repetitive and very low on decision branching and error handling.

For how long have I used the solution?

I worked on a demo side by side with UiPath Automation and Power Automate.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I didn't see any issues with the stability of Microsoft Power Automate.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would say that scalability is probably a weakness.

It's an area that needs improvement.

How are customer service and technical support?

If you have a good enough support plan, it's fantastic, but most businesses don't.

When I was working at a customer site that was a premier customer, we had onsite Microsoft service providers, and we were able to leverage their worldwide support. At that point, you can have round the clock, follow the sun support on a critical problem. 

But in 35 years of working with Microsoft, I've only seen one customer site that had that level of support. If you don't have that level of support then you are basically on your own.

How was the initial setup?

The setup for me was almost non-existent because we already had Office 365. 

When it comes to the admin side of that, I don't know.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price is right. If you have Office 365, it's included.

What other advice do I have?

If you're looking for entry-level, inexpensive, and you're already an O365 customer, then this might be a consideration. But if you're looking for an enterprise tool, you should probably keep looking.

I would rate Microsoft Power Automate a three out of ten.

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the product for credit card operation customer complaints.

What is most valuable?

The solution is great for some of our backend processes, for example, accounting and financial processes, and also for IT batch processes. 

The solution is very easy to set up.

What needs improvement?

I heard from my team that it's quite immature. If you compare it against Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism, it seems there is less experience in the product. The desktop version of the on-premise solution seems as if it's not as mature as Automation Anywhere.

We need a more powerful desktop option.

We started using the product this year. We've used it for about four months at this point. We're using it for three processes. 

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We haven't used the solution for too long. We are at the beginning of automation. We are not ready to escalate just yet. However, we do plan to increase usage in the future. 

How are customer service and technical support?

We've contacted local support in the past. At the time, it was just a simple question, as we have developed a simple process. We've just had small questions and issues.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Currently, we are also using Automation Anywhere. 

How was the initial setup?

The product is easy to set up. Actually, we're a very large Microsoft customer. All of our solutions are mostly Microsoft. All of the security fields are already solved by Power Automate, which makes it easy to implement and to set up. It's not a problem at all.

Each process took us about two months to set up. Since we define them, it's quite easy. The operational processes are very easy to maintain and to operate. There are no issues with that. It's a simple three-step process, it's not a complex task.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We are looking for automation and are looking at options such as UiPath and Blue Prism.

We are looking for some solution for logistics.

What other advice do I have?

We are a customer and an end-user. 

We are using the solution on our desktops, however, I don't know which exact version we are using. 

I'd advise other users that it is very simple to implement Power Automate, however, new users have to be careful with how they expand it and develop complex processes. That said, we don't have experience with processes more complex than a one or three-step process.

I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten.

The solution is not actually satisfying the complex programs that we want to execute. We're looking for alternatives right now.

Currently, Power Automate has, if I'm not wrong, about 500 actions per workflow, and my team is not satisfied as they want something very complex that automates a process end to end. That would need a lot of iteration and loops being implemented. The 500 steps in a workflow don't seem to serve our end goals.

The solution doesn't integrate very well with non-Microsoft products.

We've been using the solution for about nine months or so.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

With the processes that we've been able to implement, it has been stable. There are no bugs or glitches and it does not crash or freeze on us. 

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I am not sure about the scalability aspect of it as the kind of processes we've been executing has been very simple and straightforward, to be honest. We haven't tested the solution's limits.

How are customer service and technical support?

So far, we have not had an experience where we had to get in touch with the Microsoft team to resolve any issue. There is documentation that is available online and tutorials provided by Microsoft, and the community has been pretty helpful for our IT team to design these solutions. We've been able to use those resources in order to mostly figure everything out ourselves. Therefore, I can't speak to their level of helpfulness.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We are using Power Automate, as it has come with the Microsoft Office 365 bundle. We aren't satisfied with it and therefore are looking for alternatives. This is our first experience with an RPA, and I don't like the app.

How was the initial setup?

I didn't directly deal with the initial implementation. I'm on the management side. I get in touch with the IT team who work with Power Automate directly.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is absolutely reasonable as you're getting a lot more than just this solution. You're not just paying for Power Automate when you're paying for it. You're paying for the bundle itself. It was basically an add-on for whatever other services we're buying. Therefore, it was more or less free for us.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We are currently looking to explore other RPA options.

We have, for example, lightly explored UiPath as an option. Currently, there are a lot of processes that are being run on SAP and other infrastructure like Salesforce. Power Automate doesn't seem to be integrating well with them. We've been talking to other organizations or other partners that are using UiPath, and they've said they were able to implement somewhat similar tasks and were able to integrate easier. If the UiPath integrations are beyond the scope of Microsoft, it would be a better option.

What other advice do I have?

We are a customer and an end-user of the product.

I have very little experience working with Power Automate. I'm the management person who gets in touch with the IT team who works with Power Automate directly.

I'm not sure which version of the solution we're using.

If your organization is running on Microsoft, and purely on Microsoft architecture, Power Automate is the way to go. If you're a very big company that wants to have complex tasks executed, however, it's not the best option. We're at a stage where we're trying to reevaluate where we want to go in ahead with the RPA journey. Power Automate doesn't look like the right option, at least for us right now.
