Single sign-on has improved security and simplifies managing access across all business apps
Pros and Cons
  • "OneLogin is very effective in improving both security and operational efficiency."

What is our primary use case?

OneLogin's main use case is in a company where employees use multiple applications like Microsoft 365, Salesforce, VPN, and HRMS. Without OneLogin, employees would need a separate username and password for every application. By implementing OneLogin, the organization can enable SSO, which is Single Sign-On. Employees log in once and securely access all the authorized applications from one dashboard.

For example, if an employee leaves the company, the IT team can disable the OneLogin account once, and access to all the connected applications is automatically revoked. This improves security, saves administrative time, and also reduces the chances of unauthorized access. Overall, OneLogin improves productivity, strengthens security, and simplifies user management.

For the main use case, another important aspect is MFA, which adds an extra security layer.

How has it helped my organization?

OneLogin has positively impacted us by saving time, and it also reduces administration work.

The biggest impact was the reduction in password-related issues because employees could access multiple applications using SSO. This reduced helpdesk tickets and also saved IT time. Apart from this, the organization benefited through better security, less administrative effort, and reduced downtime for users. There is also a better user experience.

Time has been saved significantly. It is quite beneficial because it helps the organization save both time and cost.

    What is most valuable?

The best features OneLogin offers are SSO, basically Single Sign-On, where a user can access multiple applications with one login. As I mentioned, MFA is there, which adds an extra security layer. Then, there is directory integration, which works well with Active Directory and also LDAP. Apart from this, there is a centralized access control dashboard that is easy for administration to manage users and permissions.

For centralized day-to-day tasks, we can basically use it for monitoring purposes. It is easy for administration. We can see and monitor users as needed. Whatever permissions we have to give, for example, if an organization has applications like Outlook, VPN, Salesforce, or any other cloud services, the administrator does not need to log into each application individually to manage users. Everything can be controlled from the OneLogin dashboard. I can add or remove users, reset passwords, and give or revoke application access anytime I want. Apart from this, I can monitor login activities.

    What needs improvement?

In terms of improvement, there is not much to improve, but the biggest improvement was the reduction of password-related issues because employees could access multiple applications. Overall, the organization's experience is good regarding the improved security and reduced administrative effort. Better productivity is evident. OneLogin is a strong IAM solution with minimal areas for improvement.

Identity tools have strengthened compliance checks and real-time threat detection
    Pros and Cons
    • "OneLogin has positively impacted my organization because it gives me audit logs and compliance, both of which are very important for many of my clients, especially for this oncology hospital."
    • "I think OneLogin is good, but it would be better if it could provide a mobile app that includes specific features, for example, to check logs or compliance."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for OneLogin is to complete compliance checks, as I use it to detect if there are issues in ISO 27001, SOX, HIPAA, or GDPR.

A few months ago, I had a client that was a hospital for oncologies, and I had to use some AWS services to store data. I needed to check if it was compliant with GDPR.

I also use OneLogin to detect anomalous behaviors in real time.

    What is most valuable?

OneLogin offers several best features that include helping me audit who accessed the system, when, and what they did. It helps me detect anomalous behavior, and it also has a single sign-on that allows me to control these features.

Additionally, OneLogin has Vigilance AI and threat detection, which provides real-time threat detection that protects against credential-based attacks.

OneLogin has positively impacted my organization because it gives me audit logs and compliance, both of which are very important for many of my clients, especially for this oncology hospital.

    What needs improvement?

I think OneLogin is good, but it would be better if it could provide a mobile app that includes specific features, for example, to check logs or compliance.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using OneLogin for around two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    OneLogin is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

OneLogin's scalability is very easy. I only need to follow a few wizards, and then I can scale up or down at any time I want.

    How was the initial setup?

I advise others looking into using OneLogin that it is very easy to use. I can deploy it in minutes, and playing with the functionalities can yield good results.

    What was our ROI?

I believe there is time saved because I can generate reports in seconds or minutes, allowing me to detect all users and their devices. I don't have exact return on investment numbers since I don't manage that account directly, but I think my organization needs fewer employees and saves time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

From what I've heard, pricing is interesting as it's cheaper than other solutions. The setup cost and licensing are also inexpensive because I don't have to spend a lot to access all these functionalities, which would be more expensive with other providers.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I haven't evaluated other options before choosing OneLogin because it was already in use by my client, who explained that they utilized this solution, and I needed to adapt my development around it.

What other advice do I have?

I think the user identity synchronization across directories functionality is very reliable and well-integrated. If I am running modern and cloud-first applications, it's very good, but if I am in a complex hybrid environment, I need to invest a bit more time to configure it.

The integration of phishing-resistant device trust has significantly reduced phishing attacks because I now have all devices registered from my users, requiring users to register new devices and unregister previous ones. I can't control everything, such as users clicking on suspicious emails, but this solution helps mitigate the problem.

I think the solution provides a very user-friendly experience for signing in and authenticating to needed applications. Nowadays, many users are accustomed to logging in with social networks, so they feel familiar with the process through this application.

I have used SmartFactor Authentication to adjust authentication flows in real time based on the risk score associated with the login attempt, and I find it very helpful. I first identify all the users entering the system, then I check all the devices, and then I start creating an entry system without rules, progressively adding more rules as I learn the user behavior.

I have not used the adaptive login flows with Vigilance AI, but I have seen a demo. The challenge I face is that I don't have access to a client that has implemented this. However, I heard it's spectacular because it shows real-time detection of spikes, regular behavior, and suspicious behavior, offering insights on how to control or mitigate risk.

HR-driven identity management plays a special role in streamlining employee identity handling in my organization because it helps identify all users and devices. Nowadays, users can have multiple devices such as smartwatches, iPods, iPads, and more.

My overall review rating for OneLogin is ten out of ten.

There is a good return on investment with OneLogin, as we have seen benefits such as a reduction in support tickets and password-related issues that consume significant time. The single sign-on implementation has led to a noticeable drop in these tickets, which is greatly beneficial.

What other advice do I have?

We purchased OneLogin through the AWS Marketplace.

I would advise those considering OneLogin to start with a clear understanding of their applications and user access requirements. Identifying all these requirements can help them consider this solution as a game-changer, providing strong security with compliance, which can all be achieved with OneLogin. I rate this product a 9 out of 10.

Adaptive authentication has improved onboarding experiences but still needs broader deployment options
      Pros and Cons
      • "SmartFactor Authentication stands out for me because it supports no compromise."
      • "However, the downfall rests with the lack of an on-premises solution or cloud in some areas, which prevents OneLogin from accessing some significant markets. Additionally, the weakness of their CIAM module is a concern."

What is our primary use case?

I primarily used OneLogin for proof of concept to showcase potential customers its use cases. I tried almost all of the use cases that OneLogin supports, from integrating with directories and target systems to using SAML and providing entitlements. I demonstrated the onboarding cycle as a specific use case to a customer with OneLogin.

      What is most valuable?

I use OneLogin's SmartFactor Authentication to adjust authentication flows in real time, and I assess SmartFactor Authentication as very good. It is one of the best tools they created.

SmartFactor Authentication stands out for me because it supports no compromise. Usually, there is either a compromise of user experience for risk or a compromise of risk for user experience. With SmartFactor Authentication, I can balance between them. I can give users an easy and smooth user experience as long as the risk indices are low, but I can implement pretty rigid authentication workflows if the risk gets higher. So it is very good.

My impression of the user identity synchronization across directories functionality in OneLogin is that it is very nice. It is very easy to implement and very easy to use. There is nothing bad about it. The synchronization runs smoothly.

My impression of OneLogin's ability to provide a seamless end-user experience for signing in and authenticating to needed applications is that it is very nice.

      What needs improvement?

The user experience is very nice, which is why I give OneLogin a rating of seven. It is easy to implement and incorporate in any enterprise, and you can define the ROI pretty fast. However, the downfall rests with the lack of an on-premises solution or cloud in some areas, which prevents OneLogin from accessing some significant markets. Additionally, the weakness of their CIAM module is a concern.

There are no other improvements I think are needed for OneLogin.

For how long have I used the solution?

I used OneLogin for around three years, but it was not continuous usage. I conducted several POCs with it.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

My experience with OneLogin's stability has been positive.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

OneLogin's scalability is great in my experience.

How are customer service and support?

I do not have any comments about the customer support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not switch to OneLogin from a different solution because I used OneLogin initially.

      What was our ROI?

Unfortunately, I do not have any numbers right now regarding whether I have seen a return on investment with OneLogin or any relevant metrics such as time saved, cost reduction, or fewer support tickets.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for OneLogin was very nice.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing OneLogin, I evaluated other options such as PingFederate. It is very resourceful and very good, but the problem is that it is very complex. For very big enterprises, it is one of the best solutions. It has huge diversity in hosting and deployment options. You can deploy it on-premises, in the cloud, or through other methods. It can provide much stronger customization. However, it is much more difficult to onboard in the enterprise. For smaller enterprises that have standard requirements, OneLogin is much better. It is much more efficient and easier to use.

What other advice do I have?

I have used the adaptive login flows with Vigilance AI, and while I do not remember all of the details, I believe it was a very useful experience. I give OneLogin an overall rating of seven.

I find that in terms of pricing, setup cost, and licensing, it is very suitable for medium to large organizations, making it very cost-effective.

What other advice do I have?

Regarding OneLogin by One Identity's AI capabilities, I think its governance and security make it a pretty secure solution with a lot of integration, so it is a very good solution overall.

Regarding OneLogin by One Identity's AI capabilities, I find it to be pretty accurate in terms of the features available.

I do not use the solution's Smart Factor Authentication to adjust authentication flows in real-time depending on the risk score associated with the login attempt.

My impression of the user identity synchronization across directories functionality is that it is secure, has secure access to resources such as data and applications, as well as fast access with easy authentication.

The integration of phishing-resistant device trust has positively impacted my authentication processes by reducing risk and helping users effectively in terms of awareness about who has access to the system and how it is maintained.

I have not used the adaptive login flows with Vigilance AI.

Unified login has simplified daily access and reduced support tickets through risk-based policies
      Pros and Cons
      • "I have seen fewer support tickets after implementing OneLogin, which have been reduced by 60 to 70 percent compared to the previous method."
      • "However, the initial custom integration could be simplified, as it is somewhat complex."

What is our primary use case?

In day-to-day operations, the main use case for OneLogin is to implement single sign-on and unified central authentication for my application. It connects directly to services like Active Directory and SaaS platforms, which helps manage user access from a single point.

OneLogin allows users to authenticate once and access multiple systems using federation protocols such as SAML, which reduces credential management. Additionally, it employs policy-based authentication where authentication rules are defined based on conditions such as user role, device, and location to control how users log in, thereby improving security.

      What is most valuable?

The best features OneLogin offers include SmartFactor Authentication, which is very useful because it adjusts security based on login risk and avoids forcing multifactor authentication for every login. This improves both usability and security.

The authentication feature of OneLogin stands out compared to other solutions I have used because it is very user-friendly, balancing strong security with a smooth user experience.

OneLogin has positively impacted my organization in multiple ways. It has simplified authentication and reduced password-related issues. Users can access multiple applications easily through single sign-on, and security has improved with multifactor authentication and defined policies.

I have seen fewer support tickets after implementing OneLogin, which have been reduced by 60 to 70 percent compared to the previous method. The organization is also noticing a significant improvement in security with less effort, making this a very good example of time-saving for us.

      What needs improvement?

OneLogin is working well for us currently. However, the initial custom integration could be simplified, as it is somewhat complex.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using OneLogin for more than four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

      OneLogin is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, OneLogin is outstanding and really balances the requirements of the organization based on real-time needs.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for OneLogin is very interactive, and they are good at their technical aspects, being able to resolve issues and guide us in technical matters.

      What was our ROI?

I have seen a very good return on investment, such as money saved and time saved as a result of using OneLogin.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup costs, and licensing for OneLogin has been great with the vendor sales team.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using OneLogin is to consider the login process, plan your identity strategy, and ensure proper integration before deployment. I would rate this review an 8 out of 10.

Unified access has simplified onboarding, reduced support tickets, and strengthened authentication
      Pros and Cons
      • "OneLogin provides a seamless end-user experience, and we are receiving very good and positive responses from end-users."

What is our primary use case?

OneLogin is primarily used to provide users with a single login for all applications and to manage user access centrally, which helps avoid handling multiple credentials and simplifies access control.

When a new employee joins, a user is created in Active Directory and OneLogin automatically grants them access to the required applications, allowing a user to log in once and access whatever they require. When someone leaves, disabling their account removes access to everything.

        What is most valuable?

The best feature is single sign-on, which is very easy for users, followed by Smart Factor, which is a risk-based multifactor authentication, and automatic user provisioning.

OneLogin has improved usability and navigation in our organization, leading to fewer password-related issues, and users do not forget passwords. The IT team spends less time on support and more on important tasks.

Support tickets have been reduced by 60 to 70 percent since using OneLogin.

Phishing-resistant Device Trust solves the authentication process, which is helping us in a real-time environment and has improved security significantly, even if users click on links, it secures the application.

OneLogin provides a seamless end-user experience, and we are receiving very good and positive responses from end-users. There are no issues with this, as the end-user experience is very smooth, allowing users to log in once and access everything easily without multiple passwords.

Vigilance AI is used to detect unusual user login behavior and automatically apply extra security based on the requirement.

        What needs improvement?

Currently, there is nothing to improve with OneLogin.

For how long have I used the solution?

OneLogin has been used for more than two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

        OneLogin is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

OneLogin is scalable and very easy since it is cloud-based, allowing for adding users and applications without worrying about infrastructure, so there are no issues.

How are customer service and support?

Support for OneLogin is good, and the people are knowledgeable.

I would rate customer support nine out of ten.

        What was our ROI?

The return on investment from OneLogin can be explained through three things: users can be onboarded 70 to 80 percent faster, there are around 50 percent fewer support tickets for the IT team, and there is less manual work for the IT team.

What other advice do I have?

OneLogin is highly recommended, and my advice would be to start with single sign-on and multifactor authentication, plan user roles properly, and then expand. I would rate this review ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Secure access has simplified daily logins and has improved password management for our clients
        Pros and Cons
        • "OneLogin by One Identity has positively impacted my organization and our customers by making their environment secure, as users do not need to save their passwords in insecure ways, thereby making their environment more secure."
        • "In our country, many small and medium businesses find it not very affordable, so a subscription plan for those companies would make it better."

What is our primary use case?

OneLogin by One Identity is implemented as a distributor solution, providing implementation and support as we are a partner of One Identity. We provide a solution for Identity and Access Management requirements for our customers using One Identity. One customer stands out where we have implemented OneLogin by One Identity with a bundle solution that includes UEM, requiring both a device management solution and an Identity and Access Management solution. We provided OneLogin by One Identity to fulfill their Identity and Access Management requirement.

        What is most valuable?

The best features OneLogin by One Identity offers include providing single sign-on options, which are very helpful for customers using those pages. For user experience, we have received mixed feedback, as some users find it very user-friendly, while non-technical users find it somewhat difficult. However, most users say it is user-friendly. OneLogin by One Identity has positively impacted my organization and our customers by making their environment secure, as users do not need to save their passwords in insecure ways, thereby making their environment more secure. For my customers, it has become very useful, and their daily life gets easier because they do not need to type the password repeatedly, which is very effective for them.

        What needs improvement?

OneLogin by One Identity is a good solution with minimal improvements needed. In our country, many small and medium businesses find it not very affordable, so a subscription plan for those companies would make it better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using OneLogin by One Identity for approximately two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In my experience, OneLogin by One Identity is a very stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

OneLogin by One Identity has really good scalability.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support is generally really good, although I have experienced some delays at times, but overall it is good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have only used One Identity and did not previously use a different solution.

        What was our ROI?

OneLogin by One Identity is a very time-saving solution based on my experience.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not evaluate other options before choosing OneLogin by One Identity, as it is the only One Identity solution we considered.

What other advice do I have?

Regarding OneLogin by One Identity's AI capabilities, its governance and security is good, and I do not see any need for improvement in that area. I think its accuracy and reliability of output are around 75% to 80%.

I did not deploy the Smart Factor Authentication feature for any of our customers, so I do not know how it would affect our environment. Regarding user identity synchronization across directories functionality in OneLogin by One Identity, I find it to be a good feature with no issues in my experience. The integration of phishing-resistant device trust has a good impact on my authentication processes. My impression of OneLogin by One Identity's ability to provide a seamless end-user experience for signing in and authenticating to needed applications is very good, and customers are using it without any issues. I did not use the adaptive login flows with Vigilance AI. HR-driven identity management plays a significant role in streamlining employee identity handling in our customer's environments, improving their business flow.

My advice for others looking into using OneLogin by One Identity is to do a POC before purchasing to match their requirements with the solution, as it is overall a good solution. I rate this product a 10 overall.

Identity workflows have transformed onboarding speed and now support secure passwordless access
        Pros and Cons
        • "Now that OneLogin is in place with Saviyant, we are able to onboard users very quickly by connecting with the HRMS, reducing the process to a few minutes compared to the lot of manual work we used to do earlier creating accounts in AD and synchronizing them."
        • "During implementation, there were not many features that I remember not using in practice."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for OneLogin is to enforce workforce identity, and we implemented this in Malaysia's biggest retail client, so all of their employees' applications can be securely accessed through single sign-on using OneLogin.

We also created an employee onboarding workflow using OneLogin, so when a user's account gets created in OneLogin, their account is SCIM provisioned into different applications. The account is synchronized using Saviyant into OneLogin as well, so this is my day-to-day activity with OneLogin.

OneLogin was used across the entire organization, and there were both power users and regular users. The power users managed the platform and used the APIs to create custom requirements, while the regular users used it for their SSO, MFA, and other identity management.

        What is most valuable?

In my experience, one of the best features of OneLogin is its passwordless login, which I saw as ahead of its time, as it allowed creating logins with MFA without passwords, which is now a significant trend in the market.

The most important feature of OneLogin that we ended up using is definitely SSO and its APIs to manage users and groups programmatically using custom scripts and Saviyant workflows.

OneLogin has impacted the organization I implemented it for by allowing swift onboardings, as onboarding definitely helped in bringing new employees on board very quickly. It has many built-in application connectors to onboard new apps quickly, and it helped in connecting with our organization, which is very large, as we migrated many applications and onboarded new applications because of the ease that OneLogin provides.

        What needs improvement?

During implementation, there were not many features that I remember not using in practice. Mostly, there were certain APIs that we were experimenting with earlier but did not use, so we created custom scripts for them, especially around auto-implementing MFA for new joiners, although we later shifted that process.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with OneLogin for almost five years now.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before we landed on OneLogin for this environment, the client was part of a larger group that was already using OneLogin, and we segregated the tenant from the group tenant to an individual tenant for this company, which is now a Malaysian-owned company in the retail sector.

        How was the initial setup?

When I first implemented OneLogin for that client, it took close to six months for everything to get up and running. The initial tenant onboarding was quick, but since it was mostly a migration, the company was separating from a larger group, which involved a multi-month migration and over 160 applications.

        What about the implementation team?

The scope of that work is definitely part of a larger team managing identity and access for the client, as we were a team of 10 members managing different tools, with OneLogin being one of them.

We also had Saviyant for user provisioning and UAR and certification campaigns, alongside several of our own Node.js written programs to do the identity provisioning, so we were at least a team of 10 members at that time.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated other IAM tools including PingOne, but we decided to stick with OneLogin as it was a known experience for the end users as well as for the application administrators, and since we were already using a larger part of the group, we tried to keep the same experience and went with OneLogin.

What other advice do I have?

When I am working in OneLogin on a normal day or week, the first thing I typically do in the platform is handling SSO configurations, so I add applications and interact with application stakeholders, learn about the applications, and then finally decide who gets to access them and how the access would be granted.

My team did need formal training when working with OneLogin, and while it was mostly intuitive, we still had training through OneLogin given as part of the compliance.

Now that OneLogin is in place with Saviyant, we are able to onboard users very quickly by connecting with the HRMS, reducing the process to a few minutes compared to the lot of manual work we used to do earlier creating accounts in AD and synchronizing them. I would rate this solution highly for its effectiveness and integration capabilities.

Centralized onboarding has saved time and reduced errors but pricing still needs improvement
        Pros and Cons
        • "Around 30 to 40 percent of time is saved since using OneLogin, and the error has been reduced because a single login manages all the applications, significantly cutting down on errors."
        • "The pricing could be reduced to make OneLogin more effective."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for OneLogin is onboarding and offboarding. Previously, the HR used to make multiple accounts for multiple applications, and that's how I use OneLogin for employee onboarding and offboarding.

Using OneLogin, our time reduces and the efficiency increases compared to the previous process. The time has been reduced and the efficiency is increased in the onboarding and offboarding process compared to my old method.

In the first onboarding, we can now do up to five or six employees, which is around 40 to 50 percent more efficient than before.

In a single click, the user loses all access and is terminated from all the applications, leaving no point of login left behind while using OneLogin.

How has it helped my organization?

OneLogin has positively impacted my organization by reducing errors and helping us in security management.

It has helped in saving time, improving security, and reducing errors for our organization. Around 30 to 40 percent of time is saved since using OneLogin, and the error has been reduced because a single login manages all the applications, significantly cutting down on errors.

If one person has left the company but is still logged on to all the applications, leaving one application active might be a security risk for the company or result in data loss. Using OneLogin helps us to terminate access from all the applications in a single click.

        What is most valuable?

The best feature OneLogin offers in my experience is user management. From an IT perspective, user management is the most valuable feature or tool in OneLogin because it has become easier.

OneLogin's dynamic nature helps in making my day-to-day work smoother. When I say dynamic, I mean the way OneLogin adapts to changes, such as when I have to change a user from one role to another because they received a promotion, and I have to change some credentials.

The single sign-on is good and easy to use, and the integration is also easy, which I appreciate.

        What needs improvement?

The pricing could be reduced to make OneLogin more effective. The pricing is the main area for improvement, and I believe we need to address that.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using OneLogin for a year now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have not seen any impact from the integration of phishing-resistant device trust on our authentication processes yet.

What other advice do I have?

If you are looking for the same solution, you should definitely give OneLogin a try or at least conduct a proof of concept to understand its features and functionalities. You should give OneLogin a hands-on test, and at least a proof of concept would help you identify the best fit. I would rate this product a 7 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

        Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
