I've been working with AppDynamics Database Monitoring for one year.

AppDynamics Database Monitoring is less stable than Dynatrace.

AppDynamics Database Monitoring is scalable.

The initial setup was easy, and deployment took around two days.

We used an in-house team.

AppDynamics Database Monitoring is widely used, so it's given us some ROI.

I recommend choosing Dynatrace over AppDynamics Database Monitoring as it's easier to use. I would rate AppDynamics Database Monitoring seven out of ten.

I primarily use AppDynamics for my servers.

AppDynamics' best feature is automation - for example, when I add a note, it can understand the data automatically.

AppDynamics' modules and hardware resources are very high.

I've been using AppDynamics for a year.

I didn't have a good experience with AppDynamics' technical support. Its knowledge base is locked up and unavailable.

I also work with Zabbix, which has better education and hardware specification, though AppDynamics is more user-friendly.

The initial setup was complex because we had to configure every agent and module, use a specific server for every module, and manage every visual and virtual machine.

I used an outsourced company.

AppDynamics is really pricey as it requires licenses for every feature.

AppDynamics forces you to depend on the company to do what you want, which may be a negative if you prefer to work independently. I would rate AppDynamics as seven out of ten.

We use AppDynamics to evaluate an application we were using. The name of the application was called Liferay and it is an open-source portal, and we wanted to evaluate the performance of our application.

AppDynamics is a solution that requires extra learning and could be more user-friendly. Additionally, automated reports would helpful similar to have they have in Google Analytics.

I have been using AppDynamics for one week.

AppDynamics is scalable.

I have not contacted support from AppDynamics.

I was evaluating AppDynamics and applications inside Microsoft Azure.

I rate AppDynamics a five out of ten.

It is a good monitoring tool. Its stability is very good.

Their support should be improved. Clusters and monitoring can also be improved.

I have been using this solution for around three years.

It is very good.

Its scalability is fine. It is not bad, and it is 60% to 70%. Sometimes, the containerization service and scalability take time.

We have seen an ROI.

If you are managing more than 1,000 servers, it is good to purchase the AppDynamics tool. From the monitoring perspective, it is a very good tool.

I would rate it a seven out of 10.

Our main use of this AppDynamics is to monitor customer applications, such as web applications. For example, to monitor the availability of online stores, and to figure out whether we have any problems.

AppDynamics has a very broad range of supported technologies, and it's user-friendly. It looks nice, and it's easy to sell the solution to the stakeholders when we can visualize how the website is working. For example, where we have any problems through visual analytics.

The end-user experience is not really good because we can't catch all of the transactions. We only can catch the full stack of flow transactions, but I think that this is caused by the technology they use. If they will catch every transaction, it will cause a very big load on the performance of applications. The monitoring of all transactions needs improvement.

I have been using AppDynamics for approximately eight years.

The solution has been stable in my experience. 

The solution is scalable. AppDynamics has been flexible enough for what I use it for.

I have not contacted support. We have only used our local distributors, and they have been good.

I have used an older version of Dynatrace previously.

The solution is easy to deploy if you know what you are doing. It was simple for me.

The price of AppDynamics could be reduced in my region.

My advice to others that want to implement this solution is to have a test environment, and then go to production. Sometimes it requires tuning of the software and restarting services a couple of times,  it's better to make all of these changes on a test environment, and then to move to production.

I have been using AppDynamics for approximately eight out of ten.

We use AppDynamics mainly for troubleshooting the database side. If there is any issue that is happening, we go through layer by layer from the start of the application, for example, the UI layer. We go all the way to the database layer to show where the exact problems are. Additionally, we use it for other monitoring and alerting purposes.

The solution could be more user-friendly for diagnostic purposes. Anyone who is using the solution should be able to infer what that error is about, they should be able to troubleshoot it better.

We have 25 users using this solution in my organization.

We have previously used HP OpenView and Dynatrace. The client wanted to move from Dynatrace to AppDynamics and this is why we are using AppDynamics.

AppDynamics is easier to install compared to other solutions.

We have our own IT team that can support the installation. We have partners that can assist with the installation if needed.

There is a license to use this solution. However, the clients pay for the licenses we are the service provider.

I would recommend this solution to others.

I rate AppDynamics an eight out of ten.

AppDynamics is a complete tool for server and usability monitoring.

I've been working with AppDynamics for the past two years.

Once you get past installation, AppDynamics is highly stable and we get good results.

AppDynamics is scalable.

AppDynamics technical support is good.

AppDynamics is easy to use overall, but the installation part is a battle. Installation and configuration can be very tough. An average user without specialized knowledge can't do this. You need to have DevOps and QA teams handle it. During installation, a lot of customers get stuck trying to track the database or the API part, and they have to contact customer support.

AppDynamics is a bit costly for an APM tool. The cheapest is New Relic. 
AppDynamics and Dynatrace are about the same. 

I also use Dynatrace with some of my customers' companies. It's a much better product than AppDynamics in terms of features and ease of installation. 

I rate AppDynamics five out of 10. 

AppDynamics lets you monitor applications and databases and provide a unified view of your infrastructure. You are able to monitor a single point but this would not be useful and with this solution, you would not use it this way. You want to monitor how your application is impacted from the application perspective to the backend, through to the server infrastructure, database, hardware, network, and application labs. It is all able to be monitored by AppDynamics. It monitors all the aspects from the infrastructure up to the user, and the application.

All the metrics are baselines in networks, infrastructure, application, and user experience. AppDynamics offers its own query language. It is called ADQL. You can write code of any kind to do queries and analysis and you can use those within the reporting or other research. Additionally, together with everything which comes out of the box, you can create your own analytic views, analytic reports, and do a deep analysis of the environment. All the values or all the metrics which are gathered are quite powerful.

This feature needs to be properly described to a client, and then the client needs to have a use case. There are some clients which do not need it and some clients who do. It is not for everyone and is dependant on their use case.

I have been using AppDynamics Application Analytics for approximately seven years.

The solution is stable.

We have done large deployments without any issues. It is scalable.

They provide detailed documentation for support.

The installation has to be done by professionals. If the client wants to take control and do it themselves they will have to do a bit of training.

The pricing of the solution is reasonable for what features you receive.

I would recommend this solution to others. However, they have to make sure it fits their use case.
