The training has been the most valuable to me

What is our primary use case?

We used UiPath to improve PMO efficiency internally. We programmed the bot to match receipts to expense report listings based out of Excel in order to confirm accuracy for client billing. This was a process that previously required two levels of review and about seven hours per person to complete.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath eliminated the need for two levels of review in our PMO process. This has significantly reduced the time it took to complete this activity and ensures the accuracy of billing.

What is most valuable?

The training has been the most valuable to me. As a new user, I have found it easier to come up with ideas than it is to actually implement them. I have also used Blue Prism and have found that UiPath has been less difficult to use for me (probably because of the SharePoint base).

What needs improvement?

UiPath should work to improve the scalability of the operation. While I have not directly experienced issues in this area, colleagues of mine have mentioned that this has been an issue for an accounting reconciliation report they are working to implement UiPath into. The data was very large and the bot ended up crashing while they had ran it.

I like the integrations with PDF reading OCR, Excel/CSV, SAP, Outlook/Gmail

What is our primary use case?

We use the tool to create bots, which access the mailbox. Given a certain type of e-mail will make the treatment the same, from access to the internal system, making inventory movement, as well as informing teams of availability of material, need of purchases of the same, alert any problem and carry out price quotations on the internet using the data scrap.

How has it helped my organization?

We have been able to optimize process time and reduce costs with the bots since they work 24/7 and with a near-zero error rate. In addition, we have all the support of the community that is very present, always helping in doubts, as well as training that we carried out in our own platform that enabled us to grow bigger and faster.

What is most valuable?

Integration with PDF reading OCR, Excel/CSV, SAP, Outlook/Gmail, as they are primary functions in the day-to-day operations of a company.

What needs improvement?

  • Improve the documentation about the tool, since some frameworks adopted by the company/community are difficult to use.
  • ReFramework, which is the main framework adopted by UiPath to improve the use of the tool is explained in the advanced course of the academy in a very confusing way.

For how long have I used the solution?

Less than one year.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have tried other tools previously like Actiona and AA, but because of their limitations, recognition speed/intelligence, we migrated to UiPath because we saw clearly that the tool best suits the demands we had received.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I did not participate in the tool acquisition process.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

As mentioned earlier, we used AA and Actiona, but UiPath was by far the best option.

What other advice do I have?

If your company is looking for a fast, intelligent tool that has an active community to help you, UiPath is the best option.

The framework is the best feature which I have found

What is our primary use case?

Automating the repetitive rule-driven and data-driven process, a process which can be run continuously without manual input has been automated using UiPath.

How has it helped my organization?

In terms of ROI, FTE, and accuracy, UiPath has changed a lot in the organization. Processor count has been replaced with just one bot, and the accuracy is at a bit better position as there is no human error at all.

What is most valuable?

UiPath framework is the best feature which I have found, and you need to be a pro in programming to use UiPath. UI Explorer and other data capturing techniques like OCR(Microsoft/Google) are amazing.

What needs improvement?

It is not limited to any particular job areas; it can be implemented where the same repetitive rule-driven or data-driven jobs are going without any human intervention or human intelligence.

Excellent Orchestrator for managing robots and logs

What is our primary use case?

I am automating a validation of work items between BP open and SAP. Avoiding too much manual labor on the part of the user, freeing the time gained for more analytical and less repetitive work, all developed on Windows 10.

How has it helped my organization?

The tool has provided a safe and trustworthy way to develop robotic process automation, with a great increase in productivity and reduction of rework.

What is most valuable?

  • The ease of learning, in addition to the great contents of the UiPath academy
  • Speed to start producing results
  • Extra friendly interface
  • Excellent Orchestrator for managing robots and logs.

What needs improvement?

I miss a functionality similar to the "immediate window" of Visual Studio. The immediate window is used for debugging and evaluating expressions, executing statements, and printing variable values. The immediate window evaluates expressions by building and using the currently selected project. Therefore, this would be a great facility for debugging using UiPath.

The OCR and desktop recording features give good results

What is our primary use case?

We are a financial shared services office; we have been using UiPath in our daily process. This is the most useful tool.

How has it helped my organization?

This has helped us to automate most of the jobs. Even if it has more control and manual works, this works well.

What is most valuable?

  • The recording features, basic Citrix, OCR, and desktop recording which gives good results
  • OCR is at its best.

What needs improvement?

I'm from Chennai, and here I couldn't see any classroom training or academy which offers the classroom course.

Credential management is one of the best

What is our primary use case?

The use cases we have focused on are:

  • A high privileged account in Azure cloud
  • NSG-ACL checks in Azure cloud
  • Certificate renewal process
  • Daily management reports.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath has helped to solve our problems by automating all the process listed in the use cases in a short timeframe with the help of UiPath Studio. The major roadblock we faced was at the time of installation on Azure PaaS, and it was resolved by many twists and twigs of conditions based on the experience solutions enabler.

What is most valuable?

Features like:

  • The optical character recognition is excellent; I have personally tested this product.
  • Credential management is also one of the best.
  • Stability and UI responsiveness is good.

What needs improvement?

Improvements from product portfolio could be a product installation in an automated fashion, and support availability should be quick.

For how long have I used the solution?

Less than one year.

Easy installation, maintenance, and competitive cost

What is our primary use case?

Reformulate simple processes such as API access and virtual environments, e-mail access, spreadsheet completion and systems.

How has it helped my organization?

  • Positive impact on ROI
  • Process control and integrity of information
  • Reduction of expenses and reduction of procedural errors.

What is most valuable?

  • Easy installation, maintenance, and competitive cost
  • Active community, forum, and academy with resources for individual user development.

What needs improvement?

- Arguing between scopes and activities is still confusing.

The mode of argument transfer of a scope (or activity) is done by a screen where a variable is indicated as output to which the subsequent activity (or scope) is indicated as input. In large projects, these arguments need to be identified in an easy, fast and unquestionable way. Assigns a variable value to then assigns that variable to the output argument, and then assigns an argument as input to another activity. I think this transfer should be done in the panel of variables and not in the properties of the activity

REFramework is good, but still very rigid.

REframework is a good template but besides being very generic it is also rigid with respect to error handling. Basically follows the default entry> processing> output which does not encompass part of the applications in RPA, we must remember that the tool is for scripting and falling into the programming vices is a mistake. Overall it is a good way to start processes but during development it will be completely changed

For how long have I used the solution?

Less than one year.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used a free application with few features.

What was our ROI?

A complete and agile solution for companies of any size.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Easy installation and maintenance with lower costs than practiced in the market.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I studied all three major RPA markets, "Automation Anywhere" and "Blue Prism".

The robot manages to work 24/7 and with a near-zero error rate

What is our primary use case?

I use UiPath in my company to migrate data between systems of a large telephone company where I use various functions available in UiPath, as well as OCR, PDF integration, email integration, SAP integration.

How has it helped my organization?

The return is sensational. We have been able to optimize process time and reduce costs. The robot manages to work 24/7 and with a near-zero error rate.

What is most valuable?

Integration with OCR, Excel, PDF, SAP, Outlook, since they are primary functions in the day-to-day operations of a company working with PDF, Excel.

What needs improvement?

Better documentation of the tool, since some frameworks adopted by the community of the tool is still very nebulous to understand. ReFramework, the main framework adopted by UiPath for better use of the tool is poor explained in Academy Advanced Course.

For how long have I used the solution?

Less than one year.
