IBM MaaS360 is mainly used for managing and securing company devices such as laptops, mobile phones, and tablets. We use it to enforce security policies, manage applications, monitor device compliance remotely, lock or wipe lost devices, and ensure corporate data stays protected.

Apart from device management, using IBM MaaS360 day-to-day is mainly about visibility and control. We use it regularly to verify devices are compliant, push updates when needed, and make sure users can securely access company resources without disrupting their work.

Since IBM MaaS360 is delivered as a software as a service (SaaS) platform, our team mainly focuses on device management and policy administration, rather than managing servers or infrastructure. The cloud deployment has made implementation and ongoing maintenance much simpler.

The best features IBM MaaS360 offers include centralized device management, policy enforcement, compliance tracking, and remote device actions. These features make managing and securing endpoints much more efficient.

Another feature I appreciate about IBM MaaS360 is the visibility it provides. Being able to view device status, compliance, and security information from one console makes day-to-day management much easier.

IBM MaaS360 has positively impacted my organization by improving efficiency and security across the organization. We can manage devices more efficiently, maintain compliance, and resolve issues faster. We save time for both IT teams and end users.

The AI outputs from IBM MaaS360 have been reliable in our experience. They provide useful insights and recommendations that help with device management and security monitoring. Though we still review important findings before taking action.

I would appreciate a more intuitive interface and simpler navigation in IBM MaaS360. The platform offers a lot of functionality, but some tasks can take time to locate and configure. Enhanced reporting and customization options would also be valuable.

I would also appreciate more customization in the IBM MaaS360 dashboard and reports along with clearer alerting and troubleshooting capabilities. These enhancements could help the team work more efficiently and reduce the time needed to investigate issues.

I have been using IBM MaaS360 for the last one year.

In my experience, IBM MaaS360 has been quite stable. We have not experienced significant downtime, and it has been reliable for managing devices, enforcing policies, and monitoring compliance.

IBM MaaS360's scalability is impressive; it is highly scalable. We have been able to add more devices and users without any noticeable impact on performance, and the platform makes it easy to manage growth as the organization expands.

Customer support for IBM MaaS360 has been good. The team is responsive, helpful, and usually provides the guidance needed to resolve issues in a responsible timeframe.

Before using IBM MaaS360, we were previously using Microsoft Intune for some device management functions. We evaluated IBM MaaS360 because of its security features, policy management capabilities, and centralized administration, which aligned better with our requirements at the time.

It is difficult to put an exact number on time saved, but since using IBM MaaS360, it has definitely reduced the amount of manual work involved in managing devices. We have seen faster device setup, better control over security policies, and less time spent troubleshooting compliance issues. Overall, it has helped streamline our endpoint management process.

The pricing for IBM MaaS360 was reasonable for the features provided. Overall, we feel the platform delivered good value for its cost.

During the evaluation process before choosing IBM MaaS360, we looked at a few other endpoint management solutions, including Microsoft Intune and VMware Workspace ONE. Ultimately, IBM MaaS360 stood out because of its security capabilities, centralized device management, compliance features, and overall fit for our organization's requirements.

My advice for others considering using IBM MaaS360 is to take the time to plan your deployment and understand the features that are most relevant to your organization. Once configured properly, IBM MaaS360 can be a powerful tool for managing and securing devices at scale.

Regarding IBM MaaS360's AI capabilities, I think its governance and security capabilities are quite strong. They provide good visibility, policy enforcement, and access control which helps us to maintain compliance and secure our managed devices efficiently.

We use IBM MaaS360 in a public cloud deployment hosted on AWS. This provides good scalability, availability, and allows us to manage devices securely from a centralized cloud-based platform without having to maintain the underlying infrastructure.

We started using IBM MaaS360 a year and a half ago, so we haven't fully rolled out all the tools.

The main use case with IBM MaaS360 is phone control and rollout. I acquired it because I was onboarding 15 new people, and it was more efficient to manage 15 phones from a computer than to handle each phone individually.

The initial setup for IBM MaaS360 was user-friendly and not complex.

IBM MaaS360 provided time savings in terms of return on investment and efficiency gains, though I cannot quantify the exact amount of time saved.

The pricing and licensing experience with IBM MaaS360 was satisfactory and not expensive.

We do not use IBM MaaS360 to its full potential, even though it's active.

We're completely on Azure, and I don't work with any other IBM tools such as IBM Quantum or Watson Assistant.

While I didn't use IBM MaaS360 extensively, it was efficient for rolling out bulk phones.

We are IBM business partners, so we use this for testing before we demonstrate it to the customer. So, I don’t have exposure to the product as an end user. 

I’d rather have exposure to the product as a technical salesperson, understanding the product and its features and how it is going to help the engineers and the customers in protecting their infrastructure.

It is for remote work, where portable devices are used by corporate users. If it is used for personal use, there are separate silos maintained. In case a specific user doesn’t report, there is a feature in MaaS360 to wipe out the office information from that device. 

We have a few key features, and there is a clear native integration of TeamViewer, which is actually helpful instead of using unauthorized screen desktop sharing applications. It is better to use TeamViewer, which is integrated with MaaS360, where you don’t have any threat from illegal issues. These are a few key features.

We have some challenges. If we look at the challenges we face in the market, there are a few products like Sophos, where there are features of MaaS360, and the IBM EDR product, ReaQta. So, there are features from both ReaQta and MaaS360 available in Sophos, as well as a few other products, which we have challenges in replacing. 

MaaS360 definitely caters to a few of the requirements, but when someone is going for a solution, all the features are not available in MaaS360. It is like a combo, MaaS360, and IBM ReaQta, that is, EDR, ReaQta. Both of them, together as a combo plan, actually offer a very good proposition in terms of market competitors.

There are a few products like Sophos and another product which have features from both endpoint detection and response and mobile device management. Because we have two different products with those features, we face challenges in proposing a particular product for the client. It is like a marketing challenge.

The way other competitor products are available in the market. So it is better to have a different positive team, but, again, to remain in competition and have better scalability. So, IBM needs to integrate a few features that the competitors have in their products. No doubt, this is a different product, MaaS360. We call it MDM. We call it endpoint mobile device management. Then we call it different names that MaaS360 falls into. 

But when we are talking about competitor products, to remain in the competition, you need to have features that others provide. IBM surely has those features in other products, but not in MaaS360.

The only challenge was replacing already existing competitor products with MaaS360. So, that’s the only area where we struggle because they always come with those requirements that they are already getting in the competitor’s product, which is not available in IBM’s MaaS360. So this product lacks some features, like Unified Endpoint Management.

I have been working with IBM MaaS360 for three years now. 

We never had any complaints about the stability of this solution. 

We have not tested the scalability of this solution yet.

But our customers are medium-sized businesses. 

There is a bit of a challenge because of the time zone we have in India. So, there is a time zone issue because the support is managed from the Asia Pacific team. India is managed by a team in a different time zone. So that’s a challenge as far as my experience is concerned. So, it could be improved.

The initial setup is easy. It is not very complex. 

I would rate my experience with the initial setup an eight out of ten, with one being very difficult and ten being very easy. 

Installation and all the deployment parts to make the tool ready to be used are not very time-consuming. It takes hardly a few minutes to install and get you started. So, it takes a few minutes for installation.

There is definitely a return on investment  in terms of operational management.

IBM products are a little pricey, so it’s expensive. I would rate the pricing and licensing model a seven out of ten, with ten being expensive. It is more on the expensive side. 

So, my recommendation is to reduce the cost of the features it offers. 

The biggest advantage is TeamViewer integration. Then there is the product itself, I like the way the mobile device management works in terms of how the data is segregated, the office data, and the personal data. There is a feature to wipe the office data in case of any issue or emergency, and the device is stolen or tampered with or any kind of incident is reported.

Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten. 

My company's biggest customer of the solution is Coupang in Korea, and they manage their PDA devices over IBM MaaS360.

Most of my company's customers who use IBM MaaS360 use its Kiosk Mode, which is better to use for security. I think that IBM MaaS360 is a very powerful tool to use for PDA devices.

IBM MaaS360 needs to have stronger points when it comes to the area of BYOD. IBM MaaS360 covers a very broad range of operating systems and devices.

I have been using IBM MaaS360 for six or seven years.

It is a stable solution that functions twenty-four hours and seven days a week.

It is a scalable solution. Even though only one or two devices are managed by IBM MaaS360 presently, it can be scaled up to 1,000 or 1,00,000 devices without any problem.

I was a part of IBM at the time when I was trying to get into the profession of a technical support person. Currently, I work with a company that has a partnership with IBM, and I deliver IBM MaaS360 to our customers.

I don't have any concerns with the support provided by IBM.

We use the product as an MDM tool for our workstations. 

We introduced the product as part of the SOC-2 requirement. The tool's most valuable features include keeping the operating system updated, tracking software inventory, controlling computer administrators, and the ability to wipe a computer in case of a security threat. It helps us to be compliant, and it is one of the reasons we implemented it.   

Configuring policies is difficult in IBM MaaS360. It also needs to improve usability.

IBM MaaS360 is cheaper compared to other alternatives. Others are at least three to six times costlier. 

We had evaluated Microsoft Intune but opted for IBM MaaS360 since Microsoft Intune was expensive. 

I rate the overall product a seven out of ten. I recommend partnering with an experienced company to manage it for you. Managing it in-house can be challenging.

IBM MaaS360 gives us the ability to remote wipe, control, and block code from models and features we do not want on devices we have. We only want proprietary applications operating on our devices. 

The most valuable features of IBM MaaS360 are encryption and mobile design.

IBM MaaS360 can improve the location reporter. There is a 15-minute delay and this does not allow for any usefulness.

For 100 people using this solution there requires one person for maintenance.

I rate IBM MaaS360 a six out of ten.

I have 30 phones, and I don't like setting up a new phone every time. Turning a new phone on should bring up the organization that controls it, ask you to type your email address and password, and then load all the apps. Then I can monitor the phone remotely.

The most valuable features of IBM MaaS360 are remote control and setting up a phone.

It's difficult for someone like me to set up a phone that doesn't require a SIM card, like Apple's new phones. I prefer to open up a phone and ensure it's properly set up before the user starts using it. As soon as the phone is turned on, it automatically connects to the network and becomes the user's new phone. If the phone isn't set up properly before this happens, it could cause problems for the user. Additionally, without a SIM card, the speaker can't monitor or remotely wipe the phone if necessary.

I have been using IBM MaaS360 for three years.

I had to change one of the phones that didn't connect to the network. I could set the device name for the new phone I set up for a user. However, I could not set the device name for the other phone that I did not set up. This is annoying because I should be able to do that.

The scalability of IBM MaaS360 is good.

IBM MaaS360's customer service is awesome. I rate IBM MaaS360 a nine out of ten for customer service.

Initially, the setup was pretty good. Right now, I have 19 devices that are not upgraded to the new April 2023 release, and I can't force a phone to do it. It might have been because I'm not a power user or because of the fact that I didn't do it.

Make a lot of comparisons before opting for IBM MaaS360.

Overall, I rate IBM MaaS360 a nine out of ten.

We have approximately 200 users.

The best feature is the ability to control mobile phones, wipe and containerize the data, and keep employees' work data separate from personal data.

The interface is clunky and the layout is a bit outdated. Also, I don't think MaaS360 has as many features as Intune. It doesn't integrate with Office as seamlessly as Intune does, which isn't surprising, given that Intune and Office are Microsoft products. It's also somewhat buggy. For example, we had an issue recently where IBM had to release some licenses from the back because we weren't able to sign onto the devices. 

I have been using MaaS360 for about two years.

MaaS360 seems stable. We've had a few bugs with it, but it seems okay.

MaaS360 is hosted in the cloud, so it's scalable.

I rate IBM support four out of 10. I've contacted them via phone and email. Support was slow and a bit awkward. I couldn't get my account to link through. You have to go through this process to link your account, and it wasn't letting me do it. They were saying I wasn't the admin, and it took ages for me to access the support site. Once I got past that, they weren't too bad, but that annoyed me.

Setting up MaaS360 is straightforward. It's a simple "next, next, finish" installer. 

I rate MaaS360 eight out of 10 for affordability. It seems like a bargain. It was a bit cheaper than other solutions the last time I checked. 

I rate IBM MaaS 360 six out of 10 overall. Six isn't a bad score, but I don't find it as intuitive or feature-rich as Intune. I think it needs updating. My advice to new users is to ensure you set up your policies and everything correctly. Take advantage of all the policies. Link it up properly with Android and Apple. 

We use the solution for data protection, data leakage prevention, and email containerization.

The solution's most valuable features are site protection, pricing, and easy implementation.

The solution's integration with Microsoft Teams could be better.

The solution's initial setup process is easy. The time taken for deployment depends on the number of mobile devices. If you have a few hundred machines, it will take an hour. It requires three to five engineers for deployment and two to three engineers for maintenance.

I advise others to stay updated with the latest version and use company-owned mobile devices for the solution. I rate it an eight out of ten.

We are using IBM MaaS360 to manage applications and to control some functions in mobile phones. We do mobile device tests and control the applications on mobile devices.

My customers value the ability to control all their devices from a central point in IBM MaaS360.

IBM MaaS360 can improve the information provided for DLP control. Some of our customers would benefit from this.

In a future release, they should add more compatibility with different types of devices, Zebra. Our clients needed to control different types of devices using the same license to control mobile phones.
