Cloud based solution that is effective at automating operational processes at scale
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the speed at which we are able to implement solutions that can interact through the user interface in the same way that a human being would."
  • "It would be useful if some of the information protocols came built within the app instead having to create them."

What is our primary use case?

We used this solution for automating operational processes.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the speed at which we are able to implement solutions that can interact through the user interface in the same way that a human being would.

What needs improvement?

It would be useful if some of the information protocols came built within the app instead having to create them.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have used this solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This is a scalable solution.

How was the initial setup?

This solution was complex to deploy at the beginning, but that's mainly because of how our own infrastructure is set up. Everything is in the cloud so we had to put in a solution that allows one area of the cloud to speak to another area of the cloud.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

This solution comes at a medium to high price point. They need to work on their pricing to enable smaller enterprises to get the benefit of using the product.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Good automation for Google Sheets, and offers support for custom coding
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the ability to write custom code."
  • "I would like to see a web-based control room, rather than the one that is in-built with the desktop version."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use Blue Prism for the automation of Google Sheets. We were helping our finance department in automating their processes that include Google Sheets, email, and web-based applications.

How has it helped my organization?

The latest version, 6.6, has introduced a lot of new features that are helping to make our lives easier.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the ability to write custom code. This makes it more helpful than Automation Anywhere or other RPA tools.

The control room is good.

In the latest update, the Google Sheets automation works well. In the prior five versions, this was not user-friendly and did not work well.

The visualizations for different automations are good.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see a web-based control room, rather than the one that is in-built with the desktop version.

Integration with different databases would be an improvement because there are certain things that are not compatible with Blue Prism.

The is much improvement needed in the hyper-automation components, such as insights.

We would like to have more reusable components from different vendors, as it would make things easier for us. For example, drag-and-drop downloads that can be used within our automations.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Blue Prism for more than three years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We are using both Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism for automating our processes. The ability to write custom code in Blue Prism makes it more helpful than Automation Anywhere.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Customizable, a GUI that is easy to use, and the community support is good
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the customizability."
  • "Having more AI functionality would be an improvement."

What is our primary use case?

We use Blue Prism for unattended automation.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the customizability. It is very easy to edit packages, where you can download a package and it is 90% of the way there.

The GUI is nice.

What needs improvement?

Having more AI functionality would be an improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Blue Prism for two months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is the most stable RPA product that I have reviewed.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have three developers working with the product and there are 60 or 70 end-users who are benefiting from the automation.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have only reached out to technical support on one occasion and I felt that it was fine.

The community support and documentation are much better than I thought.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. Installing the software might take a few hours.

What about the implementation team?

I am working with a partner but they just sent me the disk and I installed it myself.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

In addition to Blue Prism, I evaluated UiPath and Automation Anywhere. I found that Blue Prism was the most stable and it is very reusable. These are the two reasons that I selected the product.

We did not choose Automation Anywhere because it was the wrong type of automation. We wanted a more unattended bot. It is more for people with no programming skills.

The difference between Blue Prism and UiPath is that with Blue Prism, we were able to ramp up better. We took the training for both products and implemented the same five use cases. For me, it was more painful to do it in UiPath.

What other advice do I have?

At this point, I haven't found anything that I can't do with this platform. It is a product that I recommend.

I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Provides flexibility and simplicity in building automation
Pros and Cons
  • "The ease of building automation and the development environment"
  • "Lacking advance features like CIO and optical character recognition"

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case is for automation. To date, we have automated approximately 50 use cases for different functions including finance, order management and fuel pricing. Most of our projects are finance-related and we use the product on a daily basis.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature would be Object studio - the ease of building automation, the development environment where you basically build the flows and the logic. The other aspect of value is its support for security controls and data integrity.

What needs improvement?

The product could be improved by including advance features like OCR - optical character recognition - which are currently not native to the product. We are looking at integrating Blue Prism with other products. They've told us that Blue Prism Decipher is coming with intelligent document processing solution, but I haven't seen it.

It would be good to see OCR integration and OCR capabilities included in the solution and, of course, going forward, artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the product for the past year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We haven't had any major crashes or bugs in the product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's quite a scalable product.

How are customer service and technical support?

Technical support have been very responsive.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used a different solution that was a desktop-based automation tool. Blue Prism is a server-based product that is a more mature and stable product compared to what we were using earlier. The differences between the two products are not related to whether it's on cloud or not, this is just a better solution.

How was the initial setup?

Initial setup was not too difficult, the difficult part was our own infrastructure and the cloud set up. We had internal resources and consultants helping. The  whole setup and deployment of the solution took almost three months which included architecture of the infrastructure, installing Blue Prism and starting automation.

What about the implementation team?

We have developed in-house capability on RPA, though we did get initial support from external consultants.

What was our ROI?

It's a little too early for us to be able to judge the ROI because we have a long-term view of investment and returns. We expect the return to pay off in four to five years, and we're still only in the second year. If you take the complete investment in the whole Blue Prism RPA center of excellence the ROI is still a few years away, but initial results look promising.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay to receive enterprise support, so that should be taken into account for anyone wanting to implement the system.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Yes. Along with Blue Prism we evaluated Automation Anywhere, UI Path and NICE.

What other advice do I have?

I would suggest that anyone using this solution leverage expertise from Blue Prism, which is offered for the first six months. The consultancy advisory services are useful.

I would rate this product an 8 out of 10.

Streamlined onboarding and procurement with cloud automation but needs better AI
Pros and Cons
  • "It is secure and supports unattended mode of operations."
  • "Blue Prism Cloud needs to improve its AI capabilities."

What is our primary use case?

We handle much in onboarding, legal reviews on document automation, and complete end-to-end procurement processes. These processes use Blue Prism Cloud.

How has it helped my organization?

Blue Prism Cloud has helped by not requiring infrastructure setup for customers to run the bots on cloud. It is also valuable for running operations in unattended mode and ensuring higher security.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is that no infrastructure setup is required for customers to run the bots on cloud. It is secure and supports unattended mode of operations.

What needs improvement?

Blue Prism Cloud needs to improve its AI capabilities. They should integrate more ML models to stay competitive with cutting-edge technology. Moving everything to the cloud from desktop technologies would also be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been familiar with Blue Prism Cloud for two years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is good because our volume is not huge. Even though our transactions are not in millions, the product manages hundreds of thousands of records efficiently.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is good. I would rate it eight out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was simple and took about three weeks.

What about the implementation team?

Usually, just one or one and a half people are needed for deployment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is complicated.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Blue Prism Cloud to others. They should focus more on AI capabilities and move everything to the cloud for better competitiveness.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Helps to automate human work and recognize documents
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of a non-programmer is diagrams. Someone from an IT background can find it easier to start automation."
  • "Blue Prism Cloud needs to improve support, though documentation is available online. It is not detailed, which does not help."

What is our primary use case?

We use the product to automate human work. It not only helps us in normal human processes and document recognition using Azure AI.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of a non-programmer is diagrams. Someone from an IT background can find it easier to start automation.

What needs improvement?

Blue Prism Cloud needs to improve support, though documentation is available online. It is not detailed, which does not help.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with the product for eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate Blue Prism Cloud's stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have 150 endpoints that have five users each. I rate the tool's scalability a seven out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

A new environment creating will take 20-30 minutes. It is easy and quick but depends on your environment.

What other advice do I have?

Blue Prism Cloud is the best RPA software if you have the money. I rate it a seven out of ten.

Easy to access with good usability but needs more AI flexibility
Pros and Cons
  • "It’s scalable."
  • "It could be more flexible."

What is most valuable?

It works well. There is nothing to really highlight.

It allowed for easy access.

The usability is good.

It’s scalable.

The solution was stable.

What needs improvement?

How we basically integrate any AI models, I’d like to see something which I could do more of a transfer share with. It could be more flexible.

For how long have I used the solution?

We used the solution just for proof of concept. We used it for maybe three months, a couple of months, only.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We are no longer running it anymore. We just tried it out for a POC. During the time we were using it, we found it to be stable. There were no bugs or glitches.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. We could expand it if we needed to.

How are customer service and support?

We didn’t have to contact technical support as we worked closely with an integrator. They handled everything for us.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We also tried some internal use cases using Robocorp.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was okay. We had help with the process.

What about the implementation team?

We worked with an integrator. They had a setup running already, so it didn't take long for us to start working on it. The process was okay.

What other advice do I have?

It's good. If the pricing model works for you, it's not a bad solution. You just have to figure out whether the pricing model works for your type of use case and for your needs. There are a lot of automation vendors, and depending on your use case, you can decide which is worth investing in. If you have the required budget that can sustain Blue Prism, then it's a good solution.

I’d rate the solution seven out of ten.

We were a customer and an end-user.

Very complete, and stable, with a good LCR Solution ID
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is very complete. It's a good solution, for the kind of features that they offer."
  • "The pricing was a bit high, from what I understand. That might have played a role in the decision to migrate to another solution."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is basically for robotic process information. We try to identify and document in order to effectively process claims. Typically, we receive a lot of documents from our users. We were trying to speed up the process by classifying those documents through an RPA process.

What is most valuable?

The LCR Solution ID was the solution's most valuable aspect. The recognition of different documents was pretty good. It helped us speed up the process.

The solution is very complete. It's a good solution, for the kind of features that they offer.

What needs improvement?

To be honest, I've been happy with the solution. We are moving away from it, however, it was more of a business decision and not related to useability. The company now has a general agreement with UiPath and we need to change, even though, in North America, we're quite satisfied with the product.

The pricing was a bit high, from what I understand. That might have played a role in the decision to migrate to another solution.

They have a good price, however, maybe for simpler tasks, it could have a smaller price tag.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have about six months of experience in the solution due to my work with the company. That said, due to some internal politics, we're switching over to UiPath, therefore I most likely won't keep working with it much longer.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of the solution is good. We haven't had any issues with bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's been nice and reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

To be honest, we haven't had a chance to prove scalability. Now that we are moving away from it, we won't be increasing usage.

How are customer service and technical support?

Their technical support team was very good. Our company was satisfied with the level of service they provided.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We didn't previously use a different solution.

That said, we're actually starting to move over to UiPath. Our team is starting to work with it now.

I do find that Blue Prism's LCR Function ID is better, however, UiPath is cheaper.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup has a moderate amount of difficulty. A company definitely needs to ensure they have the right people with the right skillsets. It's not so simple and straightforward that just anyone can set it up.

What about the implementation team?

We started to use Blue Prism's own consultancy to assist us with the implementation process. Blue Prism has their own team that can assist with setups, so we decided to use them. They were very helpful as they understood the technology very well, being an internal team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't have any insights into the pricing of the solution. I don't handle the billing or payments.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before we started using this solution, we did an assessment of different solutions on the market.

What other advice do I have?

Our company doesn't have a business relationship with Blue Prism. We're just customers.

I don't recall which version of the solution we're using.

Depending on the complexity of your process, you might need a simple solution, then it will be good to have a less expensive solution. If you have really complex process, this is a very good solution and the price is fair.

Overall, I'd rate it at eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
