We like setting up automatic notifications to different chat rooms. It talks directly to other Atlasssian products.
The basic version is free to use. We also like setting up automatic notifications to different chat rooms. It is easy to set up new rooms and invite new users. Emoticons are fun and the mobile app is great too Our entire organization uses this as our default messaging app, not just our software…

Threaded collaboration has transformed how our team tracks tickets and monitors automation updates
One suggestion I would make for improving Slack Business - Enterprise is the support of multimedia such as images and videos that we can easily share through Slack. That would be great. Additionally, another thing is AI integration; if Slack has some AI capabilities to get insights about conversations or summarization, that would be a great feature. If Slack has an AI feature that can summarize a particular Slack thread and provide a summary of that, that would be a great feature for us. I would rate it a ten if it comes with some AI features, particularly using generative AI to produce summarization and other kinds of insights from communication in a more secure, data-secure way.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We communicate with teammates instantly within the channel, which helps us to be productive."
"I would strongly recommend this product."
"It is a communicator for partners and clients."
"If your organization is struggling with team collaboration and never ending email chains, HipChat is the perfect solution for your problems."
"Real time chat organized into channels with archival and search capabilities was a complete game changer for how I work."
"Our entire organization uses this as our default messaging app, not just our software engineering teams."
"You can create channels between teams internally and externally, which is great. There is a lot of security with Slack internal, which is what I value."
"We use Slack for general communication, conference calls, and sharing screens because we have people working from different countries."
"The most valuable features of Slack are basic chatting, file sharing, and screen sharing."
"In managing releases via Slack channels, one major advantage over Teams is the ability to have threaded discussions, which helps in catching up on relevant discussions without the distraction of interleaved conversations."
"Overall, this is a good product and I can recommend it."
"The solution has a great user interface and functionalities. It has good features that we can use. We can integrate any third-party application with Slack so that it provides you with insights and updates in real-time on Slack itself."
"More often than not, members of our team are on the go rather than in the office."
"Slack is a very robust, flexible platform, which allows for a lot more, not just chat."

Cons

"There was some problem with the company firewall. It was not stable in some versions."
"Third-party integrations are continuing to grow, which is good, but sometimes the integration is rocky and not very usable."
"I would like HipChat to be more stable. It crashes pretty often on Windows OS."
"Currently, one email ID is linked to one HipChat cloud group."
"We were actually evaluating a move from HipChat to Slack at my last job out of frustration related to repeated downtime with the service."
"Occasionally, there were stability issues with uploads and downloads."
"According to my observation, a large size file sharing feature is what can be expected, which will centralize all activities within Slack and that can save a lot of time."
"Readability. It's disputed but HipChat is winning this battle due to the larger reading screen space."
"Slack should add a feature to schedule meetings."
"Customization is something that Slack is lacking."
"I would like the text in chat to be more customizable."
"There are a lot of features in Slack that I don't use, because I don't know about them."
"I'd like the ability to re-organize the channels in my list. You can favorite a channel but you can't organize them in a specific order that fits your everyday use."
"The excessive notifications and distracting nature keeps it from being a perfect solution for me."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I would rate the tool's pricing a four out of ten."
"We use the free version that does not have a license."
"The pricing can range up to about twenty bucks a user. You can spend a lot of money, especially if you're talking about thousands of users. Generally speaking, Slack is less expensive than Teams. Slack doesn't include all the bells and whistles that Teams does. So you can go from a $6 license in Microsoft 365 to a $50 license per user per month, and there's a lot more you can do in the $50 license."
"It is an expensive tool. We pay 15 to 20 USD monthly per user."
"The solution is expensive."
"The solution is cheap in my country."
"The solution’s pricing is cheap."
"It is an affordable solution."
