Integration and flexibility deliver outstanding business experiences with innovative platforms enhancements
Scale is a primary concern. If the product vision continues to serve small and mid-cap companies, they need to continue incorporating features into the out-of-the-box solution because small-caps typically lack budget for in-house IT organizations to customize and maintain systems. If they want to expand beyond mid-cap and enter the large-cap market, they need to consider balance and provide more customizability. This includes extending process flows through more APIs and building a more modular architecture with granular backend exposed via API. The process layer should allow clients to customize while invoking back-office APIs. The general perception positions Microsoft Dynamics GP in the middle of the market. Systems such as NetSuite and ServiceNow occupy the lower category, providing narrow use cases. Microsoft Dynamics GP offers more breadth and out-of-the-box capabilities at a slightly higher price point. At the top end, SAP, Oracle, and Salesforce offer extensive customizability at a premium price, suitable for large organizations with multiple transactions and customers. Microsoft Dynamics GP currently occupies a favorable position in the middle segment with limited competition.

Newcomers benefit from automation and user-friendly integration
PeopleSoft is affordable for existing customers only, not for new customers. The popularity is declining for several reasons. Resources are moving to cloud solutions such as Workday cloud. Even though it is the same Oracle environment, professionals are transitioning due to challenges in availability, scalability, and resource allocation. When there are limited hiring opportunities for a particular technology, professionals must consider switching technologies either internally within their organization or personally. If a project ends and someone is placed on bench without new opportunities, they often need to switch to technologies with more market demand. Currently, resources are frequently moving to other ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, Mulesoft, and Salesforce, as there are numerous ERP systems in the marketplace.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is financial control. The accounting aspect allows us to manage our clients and payments."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to easily update and maintain accurate data across all aspects of our operations."
"The system is easy to customize and has user-friendly access. "
"Snowflake's ability to handle large queries efficiently is very beneficial, unlike other databases which can take a significant amount of time for similar tasks."
"The fixed assets, payroll, the data module, and user-friendliness are most valuable."
"The solution is easy to use."
"The stability was reliable."
"Microsoft Dynamics GP has strong out-of-the-box reporting capabilities, and its integration with Office 365, Power Apps, and Power Platform provides great additional benefits, helping deliver better experiences to employees and customers."
"Flexibility in configuration."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its stability."
"It is a customizable product. We can customize it based on our needs, which is one of the features that I like about PeopleSoft. As far as financial accounting is concerned, the user interface is very good. You can also configure Chart of Accounts for all performance insights."
"In general, this solution is user friendly and also performs well. There are two types of forms. One is a standardized form, which you can define things into. The other, you can customize so more repetition can be done in an even manner. That way, it can be designed for what the public or user actually wants. It's not very tough for any person, or layman to understand exactly what the screen requires one to do."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"I'd like PeopleSoft to be like on the cloud and more mobile-friendly. If I try to access it from a cell phone, it's a bit difficult, so it would be great if PeopleSoft could improve these features."
"Scales up very well."
"The customization and catering to our specific needs have helped."

Cons

"Scale is a primary concern. If the product vision continues to serve small and mid-cap companies, they need to continue incorporating features into the out-of-the-box solution because small-caps typically lack budget for in-house IT organizations to customize and maintain systems."
"I would rate technical support for Microsoft Dynamics GP on a scale of 1 to 10 as six or five maximum."
"What could be improved is the functionality of Dynamics GP because it requires a lot of development by the programmers and the company in order to integrate into a solution."
"At times, navigating the user console can be challenging, particularly when trying to find account information."
"Dynamics GP could be improved in terms of its usability and modernization."
"Many of our customers are migrating to the cloud rather than staying on-premises."
"The biggest problem with GP is that it's not cloud based and it doesn't lend itself to subscription licensing. But Microsoft wants everything in the cloud and licensed on a subscription basis.Even tThough GP can be deployed on a cloud server, but basically, it's a Windows based product. It uses the older model and companies purchase the program and pay a 16-18 sixteen- eighteen percent annual renewal fee but Microsoft wants everybody to pay monthly or annual renewal fees on a subscription basis."
"The purchase order and processing aspects of the solution should be improved."
"Having applications which provide more enhanced features and user-friendly elements."
"I would like to see it become available again in Mexico."
"The UI and user experience are not great, and it's not as feature-rich as today's systems. Furthermore, our implementation does not include all the components we need, like payroll or some other functions."
"The whole systematic flow of any query raised to HR should be improved."
"The ease of integration needs improvement."
"The ease of integration needs improvement."
"I would like to see a better UI."
"Initial setup can be complex without training or use of consultants."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We evaluated some local products, because of the pricing, but this product has better features and support."
"In comparison to other ERP systems, the pricing is not necessarily inexpensive, but it can be considered more cost-effective."
"For us, in our local currency, it costs us around 5 million Botswanan Pulas a year. It's quite a lot of money."
"I would say that the pricing is moderate, not cheap, and not expensive. There are many more expensive ERPs than GP, and there are less expensive as well, so it is moderately priced."
"I think the tool is competitively priced and it's more of a one-time investment with a low annual renewal fee."
"It is an affordable solution."
"Its pricing and licensing are high. Of course, we all know that it is Microsoft."
"The solution's price is steep."
"Check all options before a decision is made."
"I would consider this to be an expensive product, but the quality justifies it."
"I don't know if they are still providing licenses or if they have suspending licenses."
"The main issue we have with the solution is that it is very expensive."
"The solution is priced per module."
"There are no additional costs for licensing."
"The tool is expensive."
"The expenses related to the solution are nominal."
