Fortinet FortiGate Cloud Reviews

Our use cases are twofold, being to secure our own company network and to create an offering for our end customers. 

We like the availability of the hardware and the service that we get from FortiGate, as well as the kind of reach that they have as a part of their sales folks. We are also pleased with their responsiveness. These are the parameters by which we rate our partners. 

The world is moving towards everything being software defined. This is an issue which should be addressed. Things are also moving increasingly towards hardware agnostic appliances, an area in which I would like Fortinet to be more focused and fast moving with that product line. 

I will leave it to the OEM to decide which additional features should be included, because everything is available to them, in as much as the way the market is moving and the types of features the competition is offering. The Fortinet people are in a better position than I to determine which features they want to bring in the lower end modules available from their product portfolio.

I have been using Fortinet FortiGate Cloud for around a year-and-a-half.

So far, we have not faced any challenges with the stability and are pretty happy with the device's performance. It accomplishes many things and is working very well. 

While it is difficult for me to address the scalability, this may become an issue in light of the trend for things to move towards being software defined. I have no doubt this will require work to mitigate this issue. From the perspective of scalability, the throughput number of concurrent users are already redefined. Because of the obvious challenges, it would not be possible for us to scale up with the same underlying hardware. However, there are multiple models which exist in the hierarchy. There may be a need to first upgrade when those requirements will need to be filtered.

The limitation is on the hardware, which will eventually have to go once installation becomes completely virtual. 

I do not have any issues with technical support. So far, everything has been up to snuff.

Our use of the solution was a greenfield project for us.

When it comes to the initial setup, I have found Fortinet products to be quite easy.

Deployment is easy. The endpoints are modular and the installation pretty straightforward. Most devices come with a graphical user interface. It is GUI and is pretty easy to configure and deploy.

The pricing is competitive. I am satisfied with it and consider it reasonable. 

While I prefer not to provide names, we did evaluate Fortinet with a couple of other OEMs. Technically, they were also on par with the kind of services offered by Fortinet. For us, key considerations centered on the responsiveness, the cost strain and the availability of the infrastructure that was provided.

I would recommend the solution to someone who is looking for a faster, more responsive, cost competitive and agile delivery for the equipment. In this geography hierarchy, the sales team is pretty much geared up to support you. 

The priorities can vary from one organization to the next. Based on those that we set for ourselves, we felt our needs to be met and this is why we chose to go with the solution. 

I rate Fortinet FortiGate Cloud as a seven out of ten. 

We use the solution as a firewall. 

The product is not recommended on the basis of technical parameters. It is very tough to authenticate. 

I have been working with the solution for five years. 

I would rate the product's stability a nine out of ten. 

I would rate the tool's scalability a nine out of ten. My company has 1000 users for the product. 

The tool's pricing is cheap. 

I would rate the product a nine out of ten. 

The Fortianalyzer is the most valuable aspect of this solution.

The initial setup was straightforward as we used a third-party implementor. 

Support has been helpful. 

The analysis could be better. 

We do find we get a bit of a lag. 

The integration could be better.

Beyond that, it is meeting our needs.

I've used the solution for around eight months. 

We have around 100 people using the solution. 

Technical support has been great. We are satisfied with their capabilities. 

It was a straightforward setup as we had a third party manage the process. 

We using a company here in Brazil to deliver the solution for us. It's a third-party company.

I'm not sure which version of the solution we are working on. We likely updated it in the last two months. 

We're a reseller and Fortigate partner. 

It's worked perfectly for us, and we are happy with the product. 

I'd rate the solution nine out of ten. 

I work for a managed security service provider. We use this solution to deploy firewalls for our customers and then manage them on long-term contracts.

The most valuable feature of the solution is the remote management capability. 

There is room for improvement in their management and downtime. They're constantly doing maintenance and there are unexpected downtimes for the cloud interface. It seems like they are having some growing pains.

I have been using this solution for a year and a half.

I have no negative impression of the FortiGate firewalls. Like I said, sometimes the cloud interface leaves a little to be desired in availability, but I don't want to exaggerate that. Of course you never want it to be down, but occasionally it is.

The scalability is great so far, although I don't think we have enough clients on the solution to really speak to that. We currently have a dozen firewalls on it, but we plan to roll it out to close to 100 customers.

I've used FortiGate's tech support one or two times, and they were outstanding and resolved my issues.

There is a learning curve, but on a scale of one to five, with one being almost impossible and five being extremely easy, I would rate the setup process as a three or four. We deploy new firewalls for our customers using this solution about once a month.

There are licensing costs for the firewall, of course, and there are licensing costs for all the add-on products, like the antivirus licenses and content builders. For us personally, as the managed service provider, there are licensing costs to manage the devices and logs in the cloud. That's a whole separate license.

I would rate this solution as an eight out of ten.

We use this product to manage all of our Fortinet equipment from a single place.

This is a vast system that includes a lot of features.

The most valuable feature is the central management. If you have multiple sites, multiple regions, or if you have a spread of Fortinet equipment around the globe and you want to manage them all in one place, then FortiCloud is the best choice.

The licensing is a little bit confusing and needs to be improved.

The technical support should be more responsive.

I would like to see support for a cloud-based network access control (NAC) platform.

I have been working with Fortinet FortiGate Cloud for approximately five years.

I have not encountered any issues with stability or availability. It seems to always be online.

As a SaaS, you just got in. I'm not sure of how well it scales.

Sometimes, the time that technical support takes to respond is too long. Also, the support technicians are not always helpful. The support is not awful and often it is okay, but sometimes, they are missing information.

Overall, I would rate the support a seven or eight out of ten.

The initial setup is pretty simple. You just sign up and select your licenses.

The price of FortiGate Cloud is generally cheaper than other similar products.

We evaluated Aruba Cloud but I can't really say which one is better. They have different markets.

This is a product that I usually recommend to people.

We are using Fortinet FortiGate Cloud as a firewall.

The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiGate Cloud are the IPS, SSL Wireless, and VPN. Additionally, packet inspection and point-to-point VPN application control are useful.

Fortinet FortiGate Cloud could improve the dashboards.

I have been using Fortinet FortiGate Cloud for approximately two years.

Fortinet FortiGate Cloud is a stable solution for users.

We have approximately 225 users using this solution.

Whenever we faced problems our vendors who are supporting Fortinet FortiGate Cloud have raised a ticket on our behalf. We never needed to go to Fortinet because whatever problem we face, our team or our vendor, they were capable of handling it for us.

The initial installation is straightforward. The time it takes for the implementation depends if you start building from scratch or not. However, it takes a maximum of two hours using two people, this includes the configuration, OS upgrades, and FCL configuration.

We used managed services and had a partner implement the solution. We have one system engineer that does the maintenance and support of Fortinet FortiGate Cloud.

The price of Fortinet FortiGate Cloud is reasonable when compared to Juniper and others, we are happy. We have a three-year subscription.

I would recommend this solution to others.

Our primary use case revolves around network security management. 

The platform's security features stand out as particularly valuable, offering a level of robustness that surpasses many other firewall solutions in the market.

The improvements in pricing could make the product more accessible to a broader range of clients. Additionally, enhancing threat intelligence capabilities could further elevate its effectiveness.

We've been utilizing FortiGate Cloud for a couple of years now.

Our experience suggests that FortiGate Cloud scales effectively, accommodating around 20 to 24 clients seamlessly.

In addition to FortiGate Cloud, we leverage other solutions like Palo Alto, Zoho, and Sophos, tailoring our choices to fit each client's specific needs and budget constraints.

The initial setup process for vCenter is generally straightforward for our team. This ease is primarily attributed to our meticulous planning before deployment. It takes a few hours to complete depending upon specific requirements. Following deployment, we handle maintenance and troubleshooting as required. 

While pricing could be more competitive, it ultimately depends on the client's budget and specific feature requirements. It's essential to conduct a thorough evaluation to determine the best fit.

Fortinet's documentation and support are commendable, providing valuable assistance whenever challenges arise, and ensuring seamless operations.

The impact of its threat intelligence capabilities varies based on client needs and the nature of the data involved. To augment security, we sometimes integrate it with solutions like HCI.

I rate it an eight out of ten. 

We primarily use the solution for firewalls and VPN only.

It's easy to use. There are no specific features that stand out as such, based on my experience. I don't interact with these tools. My job is to just identify a product and get it deployed.

Technical support is good.

The solution is stable.

So far, it's been serving all the required purposes. We've not seen any areas for improvement. No missing features come to mind right now. 

I've been using the solution for more than five years. 

The stability is great. There are no bugs or glitches. It was reliable. It doesn't crash or freeze. 

We haven't had to scale yet. I'm not sure how scalable the solution is. 

We have a small deployment of about 1,200 users. It's all at the engineering level.  

I've been in touch with technical support. They are good. We are satisfied with support.

We use CrowdStrike Falcon and FortiGate.

I'm not sure if we have used anything before this solution. 

I'm not the end user for these tools. However, I do know about the deployment. It's easy to set up and not complex at all. It takes three to four days. 

The deployment was handled by three people. 

I don't handle the licensing. I can't speak to the cost of the product.

We are engineering partners with Fortinet.

We're using the latest version of the solution. It was recently patched. 

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. 

I would recommend the solution to other users and companies.
