We are a SaaS company that uses AWS for our cloud services, we are ISO 27001 certified and need to have secure access in place to protect our systems from cyber attacks and to protect our customers' data. We needed a fast, secure, and reliable service to ensure our team could work without issue and securely access our platform and code.
We use GoodAccess for our business VPN solution. All of our team is remote throughout the US and need a fast reliable, secure VPN solution to connect to in order to access our systems.
With our prior VPN provider, our users would not connect to VPN unless they absolutely had to due to the very slow speeds and the constant disconnection issues, making access insecure and unprotected.
Now that we have implemented GoodAccess, our users are using the VPN service daily, and there have not been issues with connection speeds or disconnection.
GoodAccess also has better security than the prior provider and at a lower price.
With the dashboard, I can easily manage users and their devices to ensure compliance.
Security is much better than the service that we were using before.
The dashboard is much more user-friendly.
It is easy to add users.
I can easily see users' device compliance as it continuously monitors the devices.
The speed of the connections is excellent. We have two gateways set up, one for the East Coast US and one for the West Coast. Both have excellent speed and the GoodAccess team allowed us to test several gateways to determine which worked best for us prior to locking in the gateways.
With the prior service, the speed was so slow that users could not work while connected.
We are having a problem with accessing Microsoft Copilot while connected. GoodAccess is working on the issue, but fixing this will be a help to us. There is nothing else at the moment that we need to have improved for our usage.
Additional security options will be helpful going forward to ensure the highest security measures are in place to protect our systems from cyber attacks.
The product is very good as is and is a big improvement from the previous service provider that we were using and has much better security.
I have been using GoodAccess for three months.
The system has been very stable since its inception, we have not experienced any downtime.
It is easy to add additional users very quickly, so we are able to scale up and add licenses as needed.
Customer support is excellent. They are very responsive to questions and problems, usually responding the same day.
Positive
We used a different provider. We switched due to connection speeds, disconnection issues, and lack of security.
The setup was very simple. I just had to select gateways, download the app and connect.
Implementation was done in-house.
We realized ROI in 3-6 months.
Test multiple providers' solutions for speed and connection before signing up for service. Also, test the help desk response time, as this will be very important when you run into issues. The setup should be simple and should not need a CISO to do it.
The GoodAccess team has been excellent, very responsive and when issues did come up the resolved them very quickly.

The product allows for dedicated IP in a specific location. Or we can connect to our main CRM platform via a dedicated IP from the UK. GoodAccess provides both options.
GoodAccess allowed us to have a stable, affordable solution to the problem of connecting to our Main CRM platform, Braze. Since we rely daily on a VPN for multiple connections, VPN stability is crucial to us. GoodAccess never fails. It is a very stable VPN and offers us a very good support backup.
The best aspects of GoodAccess include:
1. Support system (available 24/7, quick to respond, and highly knowledgeable).
GoodAccess offers a very available professional support service - it can be via chat service, email, or phone. The relevant representative was very professional, and responsive questions were answered in a prompt manner.
2. Stable service.
Since we rely daily on a VPN to connect with multiple connections, VPN stability is crucial to us. in that sense, GoodAccess never fails. In the two or more years we have been using this service, there have been only one or two downtimes. each for 20 minutes or less. That's impressive.
They need to provide a more comprehensive app that shows more data that appears on the GoodAccess site.
I've used the solution for over two years.
The stability is excellent.
The scalability is very good.
Support is excellent and available support 24/7. GoodAccess provides online and email support that answers almost immediately. They answer/solve questions promptly.
Positive
In the past, I tried to use ExpressVPN. GoodAccess VPN is more stable and cheaper (which is a bonus).
The deployment was very simple; it was a short setup.
We handled the initial setup in-house.
The ROI is excellent.
Don't judge a service by its cost. A good service may cost more, however, it is worth it.
We did evaluate ExpressVPN.

We use this on a daily basis to provide end-point protection and access control with one of our critical external systems located in the cloud. As with many organizations, over the course of the pandemic, many of our previously in-house-only positions were approved for either hybrid or fully remote operation, depending on the business department and the position of the employee in question.
By using GoodAccess for our Tunneling-VPN solution to provide endpoint protection, we have been able to allow more of our workers to stay remote and still maintain access to other products provided by cloud vendors to allow an alternative endpoint for access control purposes administratively.
This simple, stable, affordable VPN solution scaled with us over the first year of use, allowing for an expansion of remote/hybrid workers to remotely access key systems otherwise restricted to our internal office network.

protection, we have been able to allow for more of our workers to stay

administratively, all through an admin interface that is user-friendly and responsive.
Simplicity and stability are great. We have had zero downtime impact from system updates/upgrades on the provider side while providing a simple and functional tunneling VPN solution for our remote and hybrid workers.
As the admin, I particularly enjoy the simplicity of the GUI for the end users, as this sets a very low bar for understanding proper usage, which makes end-user training and support very easy, and remote troubleshooting about as simple as possible (being able to walk a panicked executive through connecting on the app they forgot was installed on their travel laptop at an airport at 4 AM was easy enough I could literally do it while still over half asleep).
The latest upgrade to the Windows version of the app (unconfirmed on the Mac client) adds some unnecessary stylized animation to the GUI. That said, this doesn't impact the functionality (it just adds unnecessary visual elements).
While this does nothing to reduce the proper functionality of the tunneling VPN application's functionality, the most recently updated GUI for end-users has a perpetual and unable-to-be-disabled nonsensical animation.
I've used the solution for a bit over two years now.
Stability is fantastic. Over two years of use to date, we've had zero outages or upgrade-related service outages.
Scalability works great; user licensing can be adjusted immediately, and when looking to add more licensing, the sales and support team was quick and responsive, offering helpful suggestions in our email correspondences.
Support has great communication and friendly interactions over two more years of use.
Positive
We have and continue to use another VPN internally, though as it is not a tunneling VPN. This didn't provide us with the dedicated end-point necessary to set up access control with another third-party vendor's application.
It's a very simple setup process. The admin console is easy to understand and use to administer licensing for you and your team. New User emails provide end-users with direct setup instructions for their account and immediately present the download options for the latest versions of the application. Application installation can also be performed in advance as it does not require the user to log in during the installation process.
The solution is deployed internally personally using an IT army of one.
As a non-profit organization, this one worked best for our budget needs for the pricing and stability of service, with the scalable licensing we needed to allow our marketing and broadcast teams to grow and expand their capabilities.
We used NordVPN as a base point for services and pricing originally.
I'm hard-pressed to come up with anything negative to say about GoodAccess. The product has been great and stable, updates have been stable and service allows older instances of the client to function even when the company pushes a new update to the GUI. Admin console system-generated emails are quick to send out, including automated password reset requests that skip the direct need to have admin interaction.

During the onset of the COVID lockdown in the UK, our organization faced a pressing need: ensuring our diverse team could work from home without any compromise on connectivity or security.
Our primary use case for GoodAccess arose from this necessity. Our environment comprises a mixture of operating systems, including Mac, Windows, and Linux. Additionally, with a team that spreads across various regions in the UK, we required a solution that could offer both flexibility and reliability, allowing our employees to access our internal network and critical applications seamlessly from their remote locations.
GoodAccess has been a game-changer for us. The ability to work remotely, especially during the initial lockdown phases, ensured our operations suffered minimal disruptions. Our organization transitioned from a traditional office setup to a hybrid working model, and GoodAccess played a pivotal role in that evolution.
The solution's robustness has meant that our team, regardless of where they're located, feels as though they're working right from the office, having secure and quick access to all essential tools.
By eliminating connectivity concerns, we've been able to focus on our core operations and maintain productivity levels.
Several features of GoodAccess have stood out for us.
Firstly, their comprehensive support for diverse operating systems ensures every team member, irrespective of their device, remains integrated.
Secondly, the addition of OpenVPN support offers a layer of versatility that's crucial for businesses like ours, which prioritize flexibility.
Perhaps the most valuable has been its reliability. Even though we proactively set up our own backup VPN server on Amazon AWS, we've never had to resort to it. This unwavering reliability underscores GoodAccess's commitment to providing top-notch service.
While there's much to laud about GoodAccess, there's room for improvement.
Their recent revision in pricing was a jolt. Though any business understands the need for periodic pricing evaluations, a clearer communication strategy and more gradual changes might have been more palatable for long-term clients like us.
While they have been flexible and receptive to feedback, more proactive and accommodating engagement before implementing major pricing changes would be appreciated. Establishing a clearer feedback loop and consultation mechanism in advance can help bridge this gap in the future.
We've been using GoodAccess for several years and remain satisfied with their service.
The solution's stability is excellent.
The solution offers a very good package for up to five users - after which it is worth negotiating with your account manager.
Technical support is responsive and flexible. We've had no issues at all.
Positive
The initial setup is easy.
We handled the setup in-house.
We evaluated Amazon AWS, however, we valued the support that GoodAccess offered.
We use GoodAccess as a site-to-site VPN service only. There are hundreds of sites located all across the country using different ISP and we had to find a way to connect them together for A/V streaming and video conferencing as well as to remotely access the equipment. Due to video conferencing, the bandwidth had to be high and latency/jitter low. It was challenging to find a consistent way to connect them all together without a VPN until we found GoodAccess.
We also wanted to use our own Mikrotik and Teltonika routers as the VPN client/endpoints. Now all sites are linked by VPN using OpenVPN and IKEv2 with private static IP addresses so we can easily connect as needed and establish video conferencing calls over the network.
GoodAccess was the only hosted VPN solution we found for a reasonable cost that allowed us to establish a site-to-site VPN network for hundreds of locations across the country.
When we first contacted them, the founders of the company got involved to help customize the solution for us as needed. We had a free trial first to make sure everything worked before committing to an annual contract. Other VPN providers did not offer this sort of service and it was too expensive for us to set up our own VPN gateway equipment.
The ability to connect routers to the VPN and the flexibility to allow site-to-site VPN tunnels was why we chose GoodAccess for our needs.
Instead of using computers to directly connect to the VPN, we use Mikrotik and Teltonika routers at remote sites with OpenVPN and IKEv2 connections.
GoodAccess allowed us to establish a private IP network so all the equipment at our sites can communicate securely over the VPN via private IP addresses (172.24.0.0 network). There are gateways located worldwide but we appreciate there is one located in our country for minimal latency.
The logs do not go back very far. This can be difficult to review past usage. It would be nice if we had the option to increase the log retention for maybe up to a year. Alternatively, we just download the logs each month so we have our own copy. Some users may not want logs so this should be an option only.
It would also be nice if we could search the user/member list with more fields such as the private IP address as currently there is no way to do that or export the list. We have had to keep our own list of IP addresses to usernames as a result.
Any of the improvements are just for ease of use mainly, we cannot think of any improvements as to how the networking actually works.
I've used the solution for one to two years.
There have been very few outages and the one that did occur was very quickly resolved when we contacted their support
I have no concerns over the solution scaling to our needs. We currently have 100 sites connected and are planning to expand up to 500 sites.
Their support is truly 24/7; even if you have to send an email they get back to you very quickly.
Positive
I did not previously use a different solution.
The setup of the service was very easy. The most complicated part was configuring our routers, however, GoodAccess even provided an example script for our Mikrotik routers that only needed minor modifications for our needs.
There was no sample for our Teltonika RUT routers. That said, we were able to determine the correct configuration with standard OpenVPN configuration files and only minor changes.
We implemented it with the help of an in-house consultant.
We've witnessed ROI within one to two years.
Don't be afraid to ask GoodAccess for technical advice or customization for your solution. When we first started we were concerned the default IP subnet they provided might be too small so they increased it for us. Their support team is very knowledgeable and may be able to provide advice on configuring your VPN endpoints.
We looked at several other VPN providers such as NordVPN and Express, and also considered setting up our own VPN gateway using Cisco, Juniper, or Mikrotik hardware.
I really like GoodAccess - it should be called 'Great' access! When I first contacted them about our use case one of the founders got personally involved and helped us with a free trial so we could make sure it worked for us before committing to an annual contract.

We use GoodAccess to ensure remote access to our office environment is safe, easy, and highly usable. GoodAccess enables us to easily manage and monitor our devices (cameras, printers, employee PCs).
On the one hand, GoodAccess very elegant interface and real-time data monitoring feature where you can have an overview of everything that is going on. A firewall is embedded into the apps, so when using mobile devices or PCs GoodAccess will try to filter out all dangerous websites that can harm the user.
The combination of these features helps us meet our primary goal of providing employees with secure and convenient remote access to our essential systems from anywhere in the world.
The IT support has simplified management using GoodAccess, and the network and systems are very easy to manage. Provide a sense of security since I know that the files and folders that I am working on are being transferred securely therefore increasing the data security of our environment.
It was a cost-effective solution and fast setup, and no external hardware was needed to set it up.
The most valuable aspects of the solution include:
- The ability to see all the current data traffic in real-time, and a personal firewall is built into this
- Apps look very nice and are friendly to use
- We can easily manage and monitor many of our network and remote devices: cameras, printers, PCs
- Even when visiting dangerous websites, it's automatically protecting users/devices
- Data security of our whole environment has been enhanced
- No extra hardware is needed, and it is very easy to set up
- It's cost-effective for our needs
- Simplified and easier to manage for IT, systems, and networks.
- Being able to route different gateways to different devices
- There's stable connectivity of the VPN without sacrificing too much speed
For small organizations, it works great. However, the larger the organization, the more scalable the pricing model, the better, since gateways can be very expensive if an organization needs multiple gateways.
An area for improvement is live chat support. While having a live chat feature available for immediate help would have been a benefit, it is not a significant aspect.
There's app compatibility for older Mac OS versions and no Linux app. For those with Linux clients, they can use the web browser extension or the Android app
I've been using the solution for over eight months now.
Support can sometimes take a bit of time to get a response, however, overall, they are very helpful and always there to assist.
Positive
We are a fully remote team of product owners, DevOps, developers, and scrum masters with different requirements to access different environments of the platform.
In particular, some critical service providers' external systems like massive e-mail or SMS providers need to be protected as they are attractive to hackers. Also, the test environment has tools that may reveal internal information about the platform.
Therefore, to have the capacity to manage teams and to provide granular permissions to each team member is a "must" for us.
Good Access allows the configuration of the apps each team member uses. It has MFA access and what gateways are available, and access control cards can be used where it is possible to group users and assign specific systems they can use.
This granularity helps us to provide the minimum access needed to execute specific tasks for each role.
Also, we have outsourced contractors for software development. Creating a new account, onboarding a new team member, or blocking the account when her/his task is completed is very easy and straightforward.
The app launch functionality is great. It is convenient for the team member in her/his daily tasks. For new team members, it is great as they have all the tools required at hand - making the onboarding process easier. Creating new systems is also very easy.
The dashboard is pretty sleek and complete. It is clear "who" is connecting from "where" and if it is needed to analyze user behavior in detail the logs are helpful and allow us to detect missing spots in our security scheme. For example, being able to order user sessions by data transfered helps to check any potential data loss.
There is one minor drawback to mention: occasionally, the Internet connection tends to slow down noticeably while using the VPN. This may impact the work of some roles working with big files like designers.
Also, QA analysts claim that tests show longer response times when executing load-testing scripts with Jmeter and several concurrent users. As the QA environment may leak important internal information, we needed to create a pre-production environment to execute the load testing jobs.
I've been using the solution for one year.
Stability is great! We have not experienced any availability problems.
It needs better bandwidth. Sometimes users notice a slow connection to the protected systems.
I have not needed to ask for help from technical support. I receive email notifications of service usage, price changes, and other different topics. It has been a good experience so far.
Positive
The setup is pretty easy, I did it myself with no external help. There is very low maintenance needed after that.
We did not need any external help.
As we have critical systems that impact the whole business (life or death matter), using the basic approach of impact and risk, I may say we recover the investment in six months as we are a small startup.
The cost is billed annually and the second year for the basic plan had a big increment. It is important to monitor this, the information in the application is transparent and easy to find.
We also evaluated SurfShark and Nord Layer.

We have multiple teams working on cloud environments, we wanted to use a service that has team-based access/permissions and static IP addresses. Working across multiple countries, we needed a VPN that would allow us to share the same public IP address and have a backup option for gateways in case the primary gateway was offline. Speed of access is critical as we work in our development environments using the VPN, developers work on code and deploy changes to our cloud environment. Access to these cloud environments must also use a VPN.
We have been able to use a VPN for cloud access and provide this access to our distributed teams. We also use local gateways as our default and speed of access is critical.
Security of access is important and controlling users' access is part of the process. We add and remove users when required and maintain the same public IP address has allowed us to restrict access. Bandwidth across all users has never been a problem; we have more than 30 users in a single group and it was not a problem having all users on the same gateway at the same time.
Static IP Addresses with multiple gateway options per team allow us to set up different teams with different network accesses.
We also can manage the teams using the portal which makes it easy to administer new or departing users.
Different teams can be set up with different product levels. This has allowed us to reduce costs by only activating the packages needed for certain groups.
Another important feature is the MFA, which we have activated against all users adding an extra layer of security. Since cloud access is also controlled using the VPN, this is crucial.
Adding one user at a time to the package as compared to blocks of five would be helpful. Currently, we end up with empty seats on our plans. Also, a user-level package could be nice too as some users need minimal features but some users might need extra ones - like the custom domain blocking. Some default authentication providers could be included in the Essential package to managing users separately from the business domains. That would be helpful - although I understand the business case behind this decision. Since we are in Australia, adding a secondary gateway in Melbourne or Perth would be great. Also, adding one possibly one in New Zealand would be useful.
I've used the solution for more than two years.
The stability is good. We have suffered degraded connection very rarely.
The scalability is good; we would love to see more gateway locations.
Support was not super fast the one time we had major issues. That said, it was satisfactory as the issue was resolved in less than 24 hours.
Positive
We did not use a different solution. We needed a service that would provide static IP addresses per team or group of users.
The setup is straightforward and it's easy to get started.
We handled the initial setup in-house.
This is used purely for our IT development efforts and restricting access to some private web services.
I'd advise users to start with the essential package and upgrade if needed. Also, make sure you start with at least one backup gateway in case the primary gateway has technical issues.
I have loved the reliability. In over two years of usage, we have faced slowness or service disruption only two or three times.

We started using GoodAccess during COVID, when our entire workforce started working from home. They were a good price point compared to their competition and one of the only ones that allowed for a small team and use a fixed IP Address.
During COVID, GoodAccess was a lifesaver for our company and without them, we simply would not have been able to work. The VPN is very simple to set up, using either the GoodAccess application or by exporting OpenVPN configuration files.
Some of the new features such as threat detection and mapping connections have been amazing and very well done.
All in all, it is a very good company to use when VPN access is required.
GoodAccess has brought a transformative shift to our organization, notably enhancing collaboration and enabling seamless remote work. With its array of features, our team of ten can securely access internal servers using fixed IP addresses, guaranteeing uninterrupted access to hosted websites, even when working remotely. The proactive threat alerts have significantly bolstered our security framework, shielding us from potential risks and cyber threats.
Furthermore, the real-world location tracking feature has instilled an additional layer of accountability and authenticity in remote work scenarios. The convenience of mobile apps has added an extra dimension to our productivity, permitting flexible work while upholding data security standards.
As a result of this, our organization seamlessly transitioned to a work-from-home model, a crucial adaptation during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
With GoodAccess, several standout features have proven invaluable.
The fixed IP feature ensures a secure connection to internal servers, minimizing vulnerabilities.
Seamless access to hosted websites aids remote teamwork, crucial for dispersed teams. Threat alerts actively safeguard against potentially harmful sites, boosting defense.
Real-world location tracking adds an extra security layer by confirming user authenticity.
Connection stats provide insights, optimizing performance during high usage.
Mobile apps extend access, letting users work on the go securely. These features collectively fortify remote work, enhancing security, productivity, and adaptability.
While GoodAccess offers exceptional benefits, there are areas for improvement.
The installable app's occasional bugs have caused disruptions for some users, impacting smooth usage. These were resolved though and alternative methods to connect were offered.
Moreover, the rising price point, albeit slight, has raised concerns among us, affecting the initial confidence in its affordability. This is happening across the industry though, with most VPN services now taking advantage of the amount of home working. Balancing app stability and pricing would enhance the overall value and user experience.
I've used the solution for three years.
The solution is very stable; we have never had an issue with downtime.
You purchase per-user connections, so it is very scalable with the size of a business.
The solution offers very good customer support.
Positive
The solution is very easy to set up.
We implemented the solution with the help of an in-house team.
We witnessed ROI in under two months.
The product's pricing is reasonable and fairly competitive.
We also evaluated NordVPN.
