Helps in supply chain transformation and finds the bottlenecks in supply chain management
Pros and Cons
  • "We use the tool for supply chain transformation. The tool has helped us find the bottlenecks in the supply chain like where the delay occurred in delivery, payment, etc. We had to extract two years' of data from the SAP system and an internal tool. We fed the data into Celonis and it created a process map for us with hundreds of variations. It has helped us see where exactly the bottleneck was. The tool has also helped us generate a lot of reviews and KPIs. It has helped us to find the problem and the remedy through process optimization."
  • "They are killing the customers with high licensing prices. The tool’s pricing could be cheaper. Small enterprises wouldn’t be able to afford the tool."

What is our primary use case?

We use the tool for supply chain transformation. It has helped us to find the problem and the remedy through process optimization.

What needs improvement?

They are killing the customers with high licensing prices. The tool’s pricing could be cheaper. Small enterprises wouldn’t be able to afford the tool.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for two years. I use the tool’s latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Celonis is stable. You need to have an Extractor server on the same cloud account. There have been minor issues where the Extractor server had gone down or was not able to connect. I would call them roadblocks.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The tool is scalable. Our company has 30 users for the solution. You can grant access to supply chain transformation group users. Once you have got what you wanted, you can remove users. You can also onboard new users when there is a new project or program. The number of users is always under your control. The number of users is also based on licensing costs. If you need more users, then you will have to pay for a license for them.

How are customer service and support?

The tool’s tech support has been good so far.

How was the initial setup?

The solution’s setup is of medium complexity. It is a SaaS-based product. The solution’s deployment took around six to eight months to complete. The setting up of the deployment environment took about three months.

What about the implementation team?

The tool’s deployment was done by Celonis’ partner. They handled all aspects of it including the governance, operating model, etc.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution’s pricing is based on APC. It charges you based on the amount of GV that you use.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Celonis an eight-point five out of ten for process mining. I would recommend this solution to anyone looking for process mining. The solution helps you monitor your business’ performance so that you can know the things happening with your business. It will help you to know why things are not moving, items are getting stuck, payments are not on time, etc.

An execution management and process mining solution with a useful "spaghetti" process feature
Pros and Cons
  • "I like the spaghetti it throws off when configuring the sequence of processes and tracking the endpoint. I also like the variation from these defined processes and what is being observed on the ground. I'm exploring the root cause analysis a lot these days, and it seems to be quite interesting. But again, there are a lot of external dependencies on that. But I think the spaghetti, and the one that shows the variation and the performance gap, is something which I really like."
  • "I prefer Celonis because of its user-friendliness, visualization and process comparison, spaghetti, and user reviews."
  • "I would really appreciate it if Celonis had significant compatibility with robotic process automation solutions. Once they define the process and understand it, streamline it, optimize it, and take inputs around it. When they reconfigure the process, there should be good compatibility with any of the automation tools, wherein I can integrate for robotic process automation, where I can streamline many of these processes on the application itself. Today, I need to extract this process and reload it into other tools, like UiPath, to integrate them with Automation Anywhere. If this tool can provide that efficiency, that would be great. I'm a data analytics guy. I lead a data analytics team. So technically, I would primarily look at if this can give me a visualization opportunity and integrate that in terms of the data."
  • "I would really appreciate it if Celonis had significant compatibility with robotic process automation solutions."

What is our primary use case?

I use Celonis for some of the requirements needed to complete my tasks as a data analyst.

What is most valuable?

I like the spaghetti it throws off when configuring the sequence of processes and tracking the endpoint. I also like the variation from these defined processes and what is being observed on the ground.

I'm exploring the root cause analysis a lot these days, and it seems to be quite interesting. But again, there are a lot of external dependencies on that. But I think the spaghetti, and the one that shows the variation and the performance gap, is something which I really like.

What needs improvement?

I would really appreciate it if Celonis had significant compatibility with robotic process automation solutions. Once they define the process and understand it, streamline it, optimize it, and take inputs around it. When they reconfigure the process, there should be good compatibility with any of the automation tools, wherein I can integrate for robotic process automation, where I can streamline many of these processes on the application itself.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been working with Celonis for more than four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability is quite adequate for our requirements. I have not faced a massive glitch, which I need to be concerned about.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have not tried to scale it because we just have it in a couple of people's systems. We have not seen any challenges at this point in time, and our usage is limited to a small team. We have about 15 users.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've used other tools, like the IBM tool and SAP Signavio, and I think UiPath is good. Ignoring the lack of automation capabilities, I think Celonis is pretty nice. I prefer Celonis because of its user-friendliness, visualization and process comparison, spaghetti, and user reviews. I think it's much more comfortable.

How was the initial setup?

I never had any challenges in setting up the Celonis. I don't think it was difficult.

What about the implementation team?

I implemented this solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price could be better. If you ask a customer, they will always say it's highly-priced. In my personal opinion, the cost can be at the lower end. I think it's suitable for large organizations at this point in time.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Celonis an eight.

A great solution with dashboards that help us with visibility and identifying flows
Pros and Cons
  • "We can observe the flow and invoices."
  • "It is a very stable product, and there are no issues."
  • "They need to provide readymade value stream mapping."
  • "They need to improve the root cause analysis because they label symptoms as root causes."

What is our primary use case?

If we deal with finance and accounts, we can do process mining for our customers' accounts payable processes. Within the accounts payable, we can observe the flow and invoices. We can see how many days it takes and which invoices are processed right the first time. We can also generate the process flow using Process Explorer.

In addition, some dashboards display the day's outstanding payables and show how many invoices are pending. It helps us know how much money is lost and how to get discounts or pay the full amount.

What is most valuable?

Celonis has machine learning and root cost analysis capabilities. It also has capabilities with process deviations and Process Explorer. In addition, we can do filtration based on activity and timestamp, and several features are available in Celonis to prioritize certain use cases.

What needs improvement?

They need to improve the root cause analysis because they label symptoms as root causes. In addition, they need to provide readymade value stream mapping. There are several models in value stream mapping, like first pass yield and rolled throughput yield, and these concepts are brought in as a measure in the Process Explorer. It will be beneficial to anybody who wants to complete a workshop.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for two and a half years. Deployment depends on the customer's requirements, and some customers prefer having this solution on cloud, while others prefer it on their servers. We help customize Celonis for our clients so that data can be mined and different views of the process can be realized. We can identify deviations in the process, the root causes for those deviations and the financial impact.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a very stable product, and there are no issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is a commercial model, so they have readymade demos. There are also customized use cases that can be lifted and implemented. We haven't directly used technical support, so I can't provide details on their direct support.

How was the initial setup?

There are two types of facilities available in Celonis. First, the setup is straightforward because they have a very good financial and account ecosystem. They have a good amount of connectors available, but certain kinds of customizations must be done in the non-finance area. Celonis has an industry wheel feature that mentions the use cases across different industries and within different departments.

The deployment depends on the number of use cases and their complexity. For example, a typical finance deployment won't take more than eight to 12 weeks. However, it may take four to five months to complete in some cases. In addition, if it's a customizable non-finance process, it takes a bit more time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I cannot provide any details on licensing because it is confidential information, but the licensing cost differs from organization to organization and partner to partner. A gold partner has more benefits and provides a discounted license.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this solution a nine out of ten. Regarding advice, it is good to always complete the modules in Celonis. This will help to understand where to focus transformation efforts. In addition, if a third-party consultancy is thinking of using Celonis, the modules will help with an approach to a customer's pitch. I believe the certification is costly, but the training model will provide a way to get sales for Celonis customization and implementation. Customers should go through the modules first and decide.

  • "Celonis' best feature is a new one called Action Flow, an enhanced version of earlier automation features with lots of integration options with other systems so you can access third-party systems and automate some actions there too."
  • "Celonis is a very good tool that can improve your business process in a single package."
  • "The one thing that could be improved is the guides are not getting updated to cover new features and upgrades, which means we can't use them at their full potential."

What is our primary use case?

Celonis is mainly used for process mining i.e. mining and analyzing business processes to create solutions.

What is most valuable?

Celonis' best feature is a new one called Action Flow, an enhanced version of earlier automation features with lots of integration options with other systems so you can access third-party systems and automate some actions there too.

What needs improvement?

The one thing that could be improved is the guides are not getting updated to cover new features and upgrades, which means we can't use them at their full potential. In addition, the development could be done more quickly, so we don't have to search online for solutions.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Celonis for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Celonis has been quite stable since we migrated to the cloud version.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Celonis' scalability is completely customizable.

How are customer service and support?

Celonis' technical support is quite professional, and they respond to tickets raised online quite well and quickly. However, sometimes it takes time to get a response, or they just send links to documentation that we've already seen and don't solve our problem.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have also used SAP Signavio, but I found Celonis to be more mature with much more capability.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward, and a standard deployment takes around three months.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Celonis is cost-effective.

What other advice do I have?

Celonis is a very good tool that can improve your business process in a single package. It provides process analyzing power, automation, and real-time monitoring with a single license. I would give Celonis a rating of eight out of ten.

Enables clients to understand their operations in real time through process mapping and data mining
Pros and Cons
  • "Technical support is really good. For me, the sales support matters more. When I'm in a sales cycle, the Celonis sales teams are very helpful. They reach out to me from day zero."
  • "It's definitely a wonderful tool for clients to understand their operations in real time."
  • "The cost could be improved."
  • "The cost would be a concern for a certain category of customers. Flexible cost models would help smaller players be able to adapt Celonis into their business operations."

What is our primary use case?

We're using this solution for process mapping, analysis, and data mining. Right now, we're mapping customer journeys in retail space and product onboarding journeys.

We are focused on the merchandising space. For example, in merchandising, there will be a lot of processes. There's product onboarding and pricing promotions, etc. We map the journey and then try to understand what are the hiccups in the current processes and then identify them and then automate those strategies.

Celonis gives us our consulting licenses separately. We use those licenses for a quick study for the customer place and then recommend it. If the customer is willing to go ahead and implement Celonis, then we'll go for the corporate license model.

I'm a consultant and we primarily work with retailers.

What needs improvement?

The cost could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Celonis for about two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is good as long as you have the cloud space.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is really good. For me, the sales support matters more. When I'm in a sales cycle, the Celonis sales teams are very helpful. They reach out to me from day zero.

How was the initial setup?

Installation is straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost would be a concern for a certain category of customers. Flexible cost models would help smaller players be able to adapt Celonis into their business operations.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution 9 out of 10.

It's definitely a wonderful tool for clients to understand their operations in real time. Rather than reacting to a problem, you practically know the problems and then fix those problems.

Pros and Cons
  • "The most effective feature of Celonis is its capacity to analyze processes and uncover optimization opportunities through its visualizations of process variances."
  • "Celonis does not provide a detailed picture of user activities within processes because it relies on event logs from ERP systems."

What is our primary use case?

The most common use case for Celonis involves its ERP applications, notably for SAP and Oracle, particularly for procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes.

Clients use Celonis to process mined data created on SAP or Oracle and gain insights into process executions.

How has it helped my organization?

Celonis primarily helps with process discovery by understanding process variations and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Although it is not utilized much for continuous monitoring, it has significantly enhanced our understanding of improvement opportunities.

What is most valuable?

The most effective feature of Celonis is its capacity to analyze processes and uncover optimization opportunities through its visualizations of process variances.

Celonis does not provide a detailed picture of user activities within processes because it relies on event logs from ERP systems. It offers only a process view without task mining capabilities. Expanding into task mining could offer greater insights.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have approximately four years of experience working with Celonis.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of Celonis is impressive. I would rate it as an eight on a scale from one to ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Celonis has high scalability, which I would rate as an eight on a scale from one to ten.

How are customer service and support?

I find the technical support from Celonis to be of high quality, rating it a nine out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Celonis is relatively straightforward. The setup process is crucial, and with good quality data, Celonis is an easy product to use.

What was our ROI?

The return on investment from Celonis comes from identifying opportunities for process improvement which translate into time savings and cost savings.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing varies depending on client needs and deployment scale. However, I find it competitively priced and offering good value for money in high-volume data analysis scenarios.

What other advice do I have?

Celonis is recommended due to its proficient ease of use, rapid insight discovery, ability to execute on insights, and effective impact measurement.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

Great execution management and process intelligence
Pros and Cons
  • "My two favorite features are execution management and process intelligence, which provide 360-degree data."
  • "It would be helpful if they could categorize processes into tier levels."

What is our primary use case?

Celonis helps to understand the processes within a company. For example, if you are an insurance company, you can use it to check how the end user or the person who's doing data entry of underwriting is performing their tasks. You can also analyze the flow of insurance and determine how it should be done. This can help you reduce your costs by 30 to 40 percent.

Additionally, you can use Celonis to define and optimize your existing processes. By doing this, you can derive the perfect process mapping and customer claims processing can be streamlined. Celonis can be used for various processes, including underwriting, procurement, and end-customer claims.

How has it helped my organization?

We have around 110 to 120 developers under that, or multiple teams are there. They tend to do a lot of specific work for Celonis or process mining.

What is most valuable?

My two favorite features are execution management and process intelligence, which provide 360-degree data. These are my favorite features because they offer an implementation strategy for specific processes and provide recommendations. It's like having an expert provide a solution for a mining problem.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see additional features, such as starting up a kind of prototype based on the domain. For example, in the insurance domain, they could provide templates for top-tier processes. Currently, we are stating our own processes.

Additionally, it would be helpful if they could categorize processes into tier levels, such as tier one, two, and three, and provide guidance on aligning oneself accordingly. This could be useful in considering costs and other factors.

For how long have I used the solution?

We are using version 2022.4.4 of Celonis.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is great. I would rate it a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution. The number of users varies from 10 to 12 because that's set up for the mining team

How are customer service and support?

The customer support is pretty good. They provide both on-call and email support, and they also have a good library of troubleshooting guides to refer to.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

For the last two years, my team and I have been working on the deployment processes.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have a yearly subscription model. They started with nice protection, but it is pretty high now.

What other advice do I have?

For anyone doing process mining, this is the top tool available. It is the best one.

Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten. The only drawback is the lack of domain-specific templates based on tier levels.

Easy to use, scalable, and keeps adding good features regularly
Pros and Cons
  • "What I found most valuable in Celonis is the ease of use. I also like that users can compare and contrast and derive any KPIs, keep track and see what's happening within the process via Celonis."
  • "The task mining feature of Celonis needs improvement because it's more challenging than it looks."

What is our primary use case?

I've used Celonis for process mining, and it's the same as any process mining platform. I worked on the financial processes and the management side and did some benchmarking against KPIs.

What is most valuable?

What I found most valuable in Celonis is the ease of use.

I also like that users can compare and contrast and derive any KPIs, keep track and see what's happening within the process via Celonis.

The solution also allows different user levels, not just the C-suite level, to look at some of the cost corrections that can be done to reach goals. I find this helpful, mainly because the leadership team doesn't usually have an idea of what exactly happens in the day-to-day process, and this gives leaders good insight into what is happening and how it affects the KPIs.

What needs improvement?

The task mining feature of Celonis needs improvement because it's more challenging than it looks. The solution still has a long way to go in that area.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been on a break, but I used Celonis within the last twelve months. My experience with it is one and a half years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Celonis stability is an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Celonis is a pretty scalable solution, but you must be more careful about the data you bring into the system. Do you think it's required? Otherwise, you'd have another data duplication on the cloud, where the cost could increase quickly.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I haven't used any other solution apart from Celonis.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup for Celonis is an eight out of ten, but it still depends on the data quality.

You need engineers and the development team to get the process started. Still, if you don't have the correct data, you'd spend a lot of time getting that in the proper format and extracting it from different systems.

Celonis can be fully deployed between three to six months, depending on the complexity.

What about the implementation team?

A third party implements Celonis projects for my company. I come from consulting, and I have clients on Celonis.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing-wise, Celonis is a five out of ten right now because my clients just started with the solution. When my clients start looking at scaling Celonis, the cost will grow. Every user has an additional charge, and every gig of data you bring in costs extra. That's where you have to be careful when scaling the solution.

What other advice do I have?

The number of people involved in deploying Celonis depends on the scale of projects, but for one process, such as a financial end-to-end AP process, the initial development to deployment requires anywhere between three to four people, including engineers, processors, and consultants, at least.

My rating for Celonis is eight out of ten because it's coming up with many good features. Every day, there's something new about Celonis.

User-friendly, low code, simple to install, and performs well
Pros and Cons
  • "In my opinion, it's quite an advanced tool."
  • "The pricing policy is not affordable in Ukraine."

What is our primary use case?

Celonis works with Camunda to identify any issues or loopholes in the process.

It is used for loans and online credit, and it was more theoretical, based on data, and not real in other circumstances.

What is most valuable?

In my opinion, it's quite an advanced tool.

What needs improvement?

The pricing policy is not affordable in Ukraine. For example, in Kazakhstan, we have some negotiations with Azerbaijan country. Telecom is one of the biggest telecom companies in Kazakhstan, but this was a little bit expensive for them.

Now, I think they decided to postpone it because of the price policy.

We could start several projects, and we already have clients that are interested, but the only concern was pricing.

You only need processes to return the money. You need process, you already have the process, but say you need to return $50,000 or $100,000 every month.

However, in the areas where we work, meeting such a high standard is quite challenging.

For example, online loans. It's most likely an interesting case. However, with others, such as finances, some efficient method to make it efficient and return on money is rather challenging. Make it more than efficient.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Celonis for one year.

We began communicating with our manager in Celonis. We were provided with presentations on how it works and practical experience with some processes.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Celonis is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Celonis is a scalable solution.

We tried using telecom data, but it didn't work very well. One of the biggest is undoubtedly telecom, but necessarily the biggest.

They have the largest data warehouses and the largest amounts of customer information, data, or metadata.

It works even though it doesn't map. Work it is. If telecom is involved in a large country, any issues might likely be resolved via other businesses.

We have three developers who are working with Celonis.

We had expectations of of growing, but, we decided to postpone these projects or end our relationship with Celonis if the pricing and model are no longer affordable.

It really changed three or four months ago. And it's no longer a low price.

How are customer service and support?

I have not contacted technical support. My colleagues have, but I don't have any feedback from them.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I work for an integration company. It is an IT firm in Ukraine, and we are now considering becoming a partner with MaintainX. And we've worked with Bizagi previously, before the conflict.

We are going public with Bizagi, but our clients have postponed these actions for various reasons.

Now we are thinking about Nintex or Nintex K2, whether it's an on-premises, off-premises, or cloud solution.

I don't have much experience as a project manager with One Bank working with Camunda, but I'm not sure if Camunda is a suitable choice for us to partner in Ukraine or another country, because we're currently concentrating on countries other than Ukraine, such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Romania.

We have projects in the Benelux countries. And clients frequently inquire about BPM solutions, and we have a process with Nintex.

K2, as you are aware, is comparable to Nintex, however, it is an on-premise solution.

I have experience in Camunda yes, as the head of the project management office. I'm not responsible directly, but mainly about choosing a solution or choosing the partnership.

Before I was focusing on development. A solution for the bank in Ukraine.

We are a partner with UiPath.

Now, we have focused on more ERP. Process management is on pause now.

Now, we start to think about VPN solutions to add to our portfolio, for the clients.

I am familiar with UiPath Process Mining. I don't have a lot of experience with it, just in a few projects. However, I have received feedback from developers.

When compared to Celonis, it has very basic functions.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is not an issue. I am the head of the PMO. I am not personally responsible for it or using its use, but from what I know from my colleagues it was not difficult.

It already has connections, and it could be integrated with various databases, or from Excel to SAP and others; it works well with this.

What about the implementation team?

We completed the deployment ourselves. We have developers, and for us, it is part of our daily work.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We already have a Celonis account that we can use to demonstrate to clients. We could use it in some circumstances, but because we are partners and have a partnership with Celonis, we could use it for free.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked into the possibility of using UiPath Process Mining, but from my point of view, or from our discussion, which was around a year ago, it's not adequate for companies like telecom or banks.

It is a matter of connectivity. And while we are completely satisfied with UiPath as an ERP solution, I remember that process mining was not as advanced or as good as we thought.

For complex users, such as our client, it was most important how easy it is to understand the process, how the graphs are clear for them, how they can adjust it, and how many have your products, such as EMC.

For example, suppose you intend to optimize a process. Celonis is far better in this instance.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others who are interested in using it.

It's also quite simple to use, which is a great benefit. It's also a no-code or low-code option. Some other solutions chose to be no code or minimal code, but they were not.

The downside is, of course, the pricing. It is only affordable for large or public companies.

For usability and how it works, I would rate it a nine, but because of the pricing, I would rate Celonis an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
