Clunky with poor interface, lacks sufficient functionalities; it did reduce need for in-person meetings
We're phasing out the use of GoToMeeting because of some of its deficiencies. It lacks ease of connectivity, calendar integrations, and third-party app integrations. The user interface is quite poor and needs to be reworked and the product is quite clunky in comparison to its competitors. It currently lacks the ability for sharing collaborative materials during a meeting. We also found that the ability to switch between audio and video configurations isn't as intuitive as in other applications. I generally do 20-30 hours of video conferencing a day, so it makes a difference to have these features. It doesn't integrate as easily into phone systems as well as other organizations and it doesn't integrate as easy into instant messaging and collaboration tools or into software solutions. In general, some of the functionalities need to be improved.

Daily team collaboration has become smoother and supports reliable long client meetings
One of the best features Zoom Workplace Business offers is that we have unlimited time for our meeting schedule with no time limitation. Additionally, we can have a workspace and many other features that I haven't explored yet, including shared documents. Zoom Workplace Business has numerous features to provide a team with valuable tools. Regarding how Zoom Workplace Business has impacted my organization positively, we also had other communication channels such as Teams and Slack, but the video call experience in Zoom was really good and helpful. We also have a recording functionality which is truly helpful. While we have that on other platforms, Zoom makes it similarly easy to implement as that of other communication channels. Since Zoom has a really good streaming quality and works on low latency as well, we prefer to use Zoom over other communication channels for video calling and conferences, although we have other communication channels for text messages.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Even for somebody who does not have a lot of experience, they can easily use it."
"There is no lagging and the meeting interaction is seamless."
"We like that this solution allows us to assign separate numbers to people without having to have a physical telephone system in place."
"GoToMeeting's security is very good. I've never known anybody to crash a GoToMeeting."
"The most important feature for me was the iPhone app."
"I like GoToMeeting because it is lighter than other solutions, such as Webex."
"It was just chosen because somebody at the company said, "We need a meeting thing. Hey, go find a meeting thing." It wasn't me, but somebody else in the organization was like, "Alright, let's use GoToMeeting. It's free.""
"We don't have any link issues whether you use it to browser, or use it as a client. It worked perfectly fine for us."
"The initial setup is quick and easy."
"The most valuable feature is the screen recording."
"I would rate Zoom nine out of 10 on a scale from one to ten."
"Zoom Workplace Business has positively impacted the organization because by using the same solution, you always know that it is going to work."
"The most valuable features for me are the spotlight feature and the ability to share video with audio, which some other platforms, like Microsoft Teams, lack. We use it to present sessions and teach end customers or users."
"Some of the most valuable features are the performance and ease of use. Also, since everyone knows about and is familiar with Zoom, you don't need to teach them how to use it."
"The product is usable and very straightforward."
"Zoom is incredibly easy to install. You can download it immediately on a mobile phone or go to the website. You don't need a lot of IT skills to get it running."

Cons

"GoToMeeting breaks down a lot. We're not sure if it's breaking down, but we start getting very erratic community channels. I don't know if it's because of GoToMeeting or if we're not buying enough bandwidth. Maybe it is just the infrastructure that it's running on. I'm not quite sure."
"Using GoToMeeting in a meeting-sized conference room is kind of a letdown. The camera is supposed to track the speaker and focus on that person so that they can be on the screen. That feature rarely worked. We tested it thoroughly, so maybe it was an issue with the size of the conference room. It may not be suitable for large conference rooms."
"The sound quality is good but the video quality needs improvement."
"The newer user interface takes a bit longer to get used to."
"Lacks ease of connectivity, calendar integrations, and third-party app integrations."
"The solution could scale a bit easier if you need to add more people to meetings."
"I didn't like the fact that they tried to make their new version look like Zoom."
"The product itself doesn't stand out against other options on the market."
"The cost should be cheaper."
"I can't speak of any shortcomings. It worked fine."
"Sometimes the free version is limited to forty-five minutes. For students, it would be beneficial to have access through the university for longer meetings."
"They should consider increasing the time limits for free users."
"The interface could be more user-friendly."
"The interface could be more user-friendly."
"I would like to see them develop end-to-end encryption, like WhatsApp. That would improve the security of the software."
"The product's interface needs enhancement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Negotiate for discounts."
"It is a little expensive although now, with the competition from Zoom and other products, they have lowered their prices and it is better."
"GoToMeeting is a little bit expensive compared to other products."
"In the basic version, there is a 40-minute time limit on group meetings."
"The price of Zoom is a bit expensive."
"We use the free version of the product. We utilize it only three to four times a month."
"The annual price of approximately $200 for the solution is reasonable."
"There is some basic functionality that's free but if you want to host longer meetings and have more participants, then there is a licensing fee."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"There are no licensing fees required."
"We pay a yearly licensing fee for Zoom, which is expensive in our part of the world."
