Centralized endpoint security has improved and supports hybrid work and BYOD policies
Regarding what I dislike about Microsoft Intune and its downsides, I would say that more Mac controls are needed because we have limited Mac and Linux control. When comparing controls and policies between Windows, Mac, and Linux, Windows has almost everything you can think of, while Mac and Linux have limited types of control. You cannot implement certain things on Mac and Linux that you can on Windows. The limited controls are a major issue. Additionally, if Microsoft could find a way to embed servers into Microsoft Intune, that would be beneficial. Microsoft Intune is not really designed for servers or Windows servers. It is more tailored towards Windows 11 and Windows 10 operating systems. Windows servers are not fully supported. Enterprise organizations usually have both servers and endpoints, which are users' workstations. For servers, most people look for other solutions such as SCCM, which is Configuration Manager. However, SCCM is what Microsoft Intune is trying to replace. Both SCCM and Microsoft Intune belong to Microsoft. Microsoft is trying to transition organizations into Microsoft Intune, the native cloud solution. However, because this update is still in process, servers are not fully compatible with Microsoft Intune and cannot be managed by it. The current policy that has emerged from issues with clients is what they call co-management, which is relatively new, and I do not know if adoption is significant. Many legacy or older customers who have been using these products for decades still have SCCM. When it is time for them to manage their Windows devices, they use what is called cloud attach. Cloud attach is a term whereby your SCCM is connected to your Microsoft Intune. Most people do not know about it, but I have deployed it for several organizations. Cloud attach and co-management work together so that your device is in SCCM, but some policies are pushed from Microsoft Intune. It is like two different solutions working hand in hand. That is what they call co-management. Microsoft Intune does not bring all of your endpoint and security management tools into one place, which is the goal and how it should be. However, as I mentioned, servers are not included. If we talk about end users, Microsoft Intune does bring all your devices together. In a typical enterprise environment, you have end users with workstations, laptops, company-issued phones, and bring your own devices. You can create policies for all of these. However, for the backend, your servers do not have much coverage. Servers are not really covered by Microsoft Intune in that way.

Easy to deploy, stable, scalable and safe
I previously used TeamViewer. ISL Online is definitely the better choice compared to TeamViewer, as it offers a more secure connection that does not involve peer-to-peer transport, and all data is encrypted. A single license for ISL Online costs about the same as TeamViewer but with multiple licenses, ISL Online is cheaper.

Good remote services feature and easy to setup
With LogMeIn Pro, we could connect up to 10 computers, and having an option for something in between would be good. Like, we went from 10 to the next level, which was around 50 or so. If there was a tier, perhaps around 20, that I would have probably purchased, and it would have been a better fit for what I needed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft Intune does a great job of helping protect our environment."
"Intune enables us to manage our devices from anywhere."
"Autopilot is the most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune."
"Without Microsoft Intune, it would be extremely challenging, if not impossible, for a large company to send out computers to users and have them set up and ready to use right out of the box in a remote location."
"Microsoft's cloud comes with a lot of extra features that are free of charge."
"The solution is easy to use."
"EAM is a godsend."
"We have not had any issues with the scalability."
"We are just much more responsive, we can be faster, and we can support our customers in a better way because when they have a problem, we can be on their computer immediately."
"We can also monitor our systems at any time from practically anywhere."
"Good communication is a key to good business and ISL helps a lot."
"The stability is great; reliability is what's very important to me, as well as security, and this solution may have only had one instance of downtime in 14 years."
"It's much easier to connect with other services, and it's working great. We haven't had any problems."
"The most valuable feature is safety."
"The solution has a lot of features. It does what it is made to do and that's all we can ask for, really."
"ISL is a fundamental partner for us since, throughout all these years, it has allowed us to grow and solve the problems of our customers and their users in a very fast and agile way without having to move, even providing service abroad."
"It improves time and efficiency, both."
"Even though there are competing products, I would not hesitate to go with LogMeIn."
"I can connect to them remotely and do all the functions I would have to do by manually driving to them, so it does make things a lot easier."
"It's the only product I need to be able to get to my office Outlook, to get my emails off that particular computer. Going the other way, sometimes I'll go to my home computer to do adjustments to my accounting system there."
"Being able to remote access my computer means I can work at night from my house, so I can catch up and get stuff done."
"I would recommend LogMeIn."
"It gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to travel; it doesn't matter where you're at, I traveled overseas to Vietnam and was able to log in, and you can log in from anywhere in the world, so from that standpoint, it gives you access 24/7 no matter where you're at."
"They recently included the Kaspersky Security Suite as part of their Central Product."

Cons

"A more incisive reporting tool with automated progress updates and graphical representation would be beneficial, as the current manual method lacks efficiency and visual clarity."
"We would like to see the ability to use multiple personas on a device, similar to Samsung Knox, included in future updates."
"Reliability is something that I feel there is a tad bit of concern. The only point is that we need to sync multiple times to get something pushed through."
"It would be great to see on-premises mailboxes and for the solution to have geofencing capabilities."
"Reporting could be improved. It needs to be more expensive and robust."
"The current Intune reporting functionality could benefit from some improvements."
"The worst aspect is the reporting."
"It would help if administrators could pinpoint the exact location of a stolen device to help law enforcement retrieve it and apprehend the suspect."
"They should improve the integrations with other incident management software to be able to send the link directly from these platforms."
"I would like to have a little bit more information when new features are released. They have added features that I didn't know about in the past. It would be easier for me to implement new features and consolidate them with other systems in our network if I knew beforehand."
"They need to better advertise the features."
"We miss the possibility to communicate via head-set in ISL. At the moment, we combine ISL for visual communication with Skype for verbal communication."
"Updating the program could be improved. When they're pushing updates, you don't really know that there's an update available."
"I would like to be able to access and manage all brands of smartphones."
"There have been times during updates when something wouldn't work quite right, however, they are quick with updates and quick with fixes."
"What bothered me the most was that when I connected to the computer at the office, I was afraid that someone would turn on the monitor and watch what I was doing."
"With our recent Windows 10 rollout, there was a rough patch, but that has been corrected."
"Unfortunately, LogMeIn is a long ways from being perfect. It has a lot of really great features, though they don't always work well."
"The only drawback with LogMeIn is that the pricing structure has been increasing so rapidly, that's a turnoff."
"The UI could be a little bit more robust."
"The only issue is that they could have a tier between 10 seats and 50."
"Maybe they can come up with a plan if you only use it for login and, occasionally, printing. Maybe you can charge what you used to charge and then if we want to use it for files or things that are more sophisticated, charge a little more."
"If I had to point out one thing, it would be that it is expensive."
"Remote Access for external and internal customers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of Intune is included with the license for Office 365, so we don't have to pay anything extra for it."
"The pricing is not cheap, especially with inflation. They've had to increase their prices. It's not excessive, but alright."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis."
"We spend a lot of money on Intune licensing, and some of our users have to be double licensed just because of how our dev and corporate environments are segmented."
"If you ask the accountant or the finance department, they'll tell you that it is way too expensive, but when I look at the cost and compare it with the value you actually get, it's more than fair."
"Previously the price was $4 per month per user. Now it's $2.25 per user per month."
"The clients pay for a license and each can have a different type of license, such as an E3 or E5."
"Microsoft Intune is moderately priced. There is a monthly license required to use the solution and it is approximately eight dollars per month."
"We have a pay-per-use license available for 500 minutes within one year for 95 Euros. However, this option is not popular. Alternatively, we can purchase a one-year license for 339 Euros; if we need two licenses, the cost is double, and for three licenses, the cost is triple with a ten percent discount. For 99 Euros a year, we can open multiple sessions on the same computer with a multi-session subscription."
"It is very good."
"The company does not scale the price based upon use."
"Pricing has been going up for just going back and forth between two computers. Last year I called and complained, they gave me a deal. This year, it's gone up to $350. I'm looking for a new source. It seems to be getting expensive for me to look back and forth. Come up with a different level of service for just communicating with two computers; I use it, maybe, five minutes a day."
"The price point has gone up significantly. We used to have a lot of other customers. I used to sell it to other customer sites. But they've moved to TeamViewer, SiteSecure, and several others. There are four or five others that they went to because they're being more competitive on their pricing."
"I am very happy to say that I have been very satisfied with the LogMeIn product, except for the escalation of the price. "
"It is pricey. When they renew me, they always boost it up, I call them and they cut it back a little bit."
"Lower the price for an individual user. "
"If you subscribe the package of 100 Agents, but install 5, you are still paying for the 100 agent package."
