Significant asset management capabilities boost IT efficiency and support proactive monitoring
A positive aspect of Lansweeper is that they maintain a 30-minute recurring schedule with us for feedback. I have mentioned to the Lansweeper team that I would appreciate a clear separation between computers joined to our on-premise domain and those joined to the Microsoft Entra directory, as this distinction is currently difficult to make. In terms of reporting and knowledge, Lansweeper completely fulfills our needs. The software installation capability is being phased out as they now have the cloud version app, where this ability and Actions have been removed. My experience is primarily with Windows systems in Lansweeper, but it also supports Mac systems. We are currently adding Macs to scanning, though functionality is somewhat limited compared to Windows. It scans servers too, though this isn't the primary focus. Regarding network scanning, there are some security considerations due to specific service or port requirements on switches. For Windows needs in terms of asset management, report creation, and detailed information visibility, it is an excellent product. Building reports is straightforward, and while the database is quite extensive and may require research depending on needs, the information is readily available.

Helpful smart automation and tracking that can be used with minimal adjustments
This is a recording system, and it's an automation system. It's very smart. I use it with minimal adjustments needed. The focus is on test management. Everything can be tracked from asset management. Asset management offers many facilities. It doesn't require additional training for ManageEngine or technicians. Assets are simply reported from the dashboard, indicating where IT is missing, where compliance is mentioned, or where action is needed, with driver updates. All facilities are available in the enterprise edition, allowing users, customers, or any organization to easily obtain their referred insights. Anyone can easily install it. There are no handbells. An app provides instructions, with documentation available. Sometimes, IT issues arise like fraud blocking or service-related problems. Upon facing an issue, feedback is integrated, and the solution is provided from their end. This is a very IT-friendly solution. We get LiveSat and IT management. Facilities are accessible, like exporting the installation folder, making the migration process easy. Failover or redundancy can occur within two to five hours, making it scalable. This is a very stable solution.

Pros

"We've found the most value right now in the inventory of the equipment."
"The best feature of Lansweeper is the discovery; it is really automatic and straightforward to install and use."
"Provides good reports from every asset."
"What I appreciate best about Lansweeper is the scanning itself, as setting up scanning was relatively easy, and the reporting was comprehensive with numerous different reporting options, including a feature for creating your own reports."
"We have seen a return on investment with Lansweeper, as we save time preparing reports for Microsoft, and it has been very useful in terms of cost savings."
"It is very flexible and very powerful. The reporting scripts that are continually posted are a real benefit. It makes it easier for someone who is a consumer, but not necessarily a power user, to quickly create and run reports, get updates, and know what tasks need to be performed."
"For Windows needs in terms of asset management, report creation, and detailed information visibility, it is an excellent product."
"The most valuable feature of Lansweeper is IT asset management. In the realm of cybersecurity, having knowledge of what is on the network is critical. We are able to conduct reports and see the assets we have. Initially, the solution required a machine on the local network to scan everything, but it has evolved to include agents that can report to a device, and more recently, an agent that can send data to the cloud even if the device is outside of the network. This has proven to be especially useful during the pandemic, as it has allowed us to keep track of devices that have been sent home with employees."
"The auto-discovery feature has helped us a lot."
"The ability to define custom templates for asset management helps track assets, budgets, warranties, and expiries effectively."
"The most valuable component of the ITSM tool is the help desk due to its organized way of raising tickets."
"We are satisfied with the product because each module is user-friendly, and we can customize it based on our organization's requirements."
"The technical support is great."
"It's very smart. I use it with minimal adjustments needed."
"This is a very stable solution."
"The most valuable component of the ITSM tool is the help desk due to its organized way of raising tickets."

Cons

"The support experience hasn't been satisfactory. Establishing a direct connection with someone is challenging, as communication is limited to chat or forums through a web link. There's a lack of direct interaction with support personnel, making it difficult to have real-time conversations or seek immediate assistance, which is not ideal."
"In Vietnam, there's no Lansweeper office, making it difficult to find the right vendor to get the license."
"In Lansweeper, reporting has some glitches. Reporting needs to be more customized as per customer requirements."
"I don't have any complaints about it, and I've never really had any issues. It isn't wizard-driven or anything like that, but it doesn't need to be. For someone who is not familiar with system administration, it would be daunting. There would be a lot of info there. They wouldn't necessarily know what to do, but that's not its target audience. For its target audience, in particular, it doesn't need to change. It is really a good tool."
"The feature to deploy software in endpoints needs to be improved."
"The support is an area that could improve. The support staff could be more knowledgeable."
"It would be beneficial if the solution could show more account-related information, beyond just the main Active Directory user account, and include management capabilities for other account types."
"For example, Lansweeper can scan 7-Zip version 7.2, but when a new version 7.3 comes out, Lansweeper shows it as new software, requiring us to manually add this software to the whitelist or change it in reports; it should be counted as the previous version."
"I hope it includes barcode features, as barcode scanning and MacAdes cannot currently be mapped with this field."
"The asset management tool is costly."
"Responses from ManageEngine should be faster."
"I would love to see a digital adoption feature or guide that navigates first-time users through the application, as it is quite complex with many relevant and irrelevant elements."
"I would love to see a digital adoption feature or guide that navigates first-time users through the application, as it is quite complex with many relevant and irrelevant elements."
"The assets that can be discovered are pretty easy to manage, but there should be a better way to manage non-discoverable assets. Our development team works on bots and tests particular hardware. They have got different varieties of hardware. They want a feature for managing these assets within a warehouse kind of environment. For example, our IT has received 100 items, and they have assigned these items as a bulk unit to a project manager. The project manager further wants to distribute these items within his or her team. Instead of maintaining a separate Excel sheet, the project manager should be able to reallocate these items from within the tool so that we have hierarchical entities for the same unit."
"The engineering area needs improvement."
"It requires some development to be better, more comfortable, and usable, enhancing customer satisfaction."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its cost is terrific. It has a great price and is cost-effective, and the license is free under a hundred nodes. I like the fact that it gets regular updates. Of course, it notifies you of the product and you can patch it and all that, but I like the fact that it is very affordable for the number of nodes. A company with three or four computers doesn't need it, but a company that has dozens or hundreds has to have some kind of governance. It can do everything such as Windows, Linux, and network devices, and the discovery is really intelligent. For example, you'd find smart devices, IOTs, and things like that. I'm very happy with it."
"The Lansweeper's price has increased and is now on par with or even higher than competitors, it still offers significant value in the area of IT asset management."
"It actually costs some money in the long run because of the licensing model."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate Lansweeper's pricing a seven out of ten."
"It is not high and it is fair according to the worth it offers."
"Its price is reasonable, but I wish it was lower."
