Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Effective document automation with strong integration capabilities and very good support
Our primary use case for Nintex RPA involves getting documents from emails, reading those documents, and transferring them from the IRD to finance. We are also exploring the LP and Intech features for more advanced use cases Nintex RPA helps our government and public sector customers with…

Simplifies integrations and is suitable for large companies
Sometimes, when our company develops using the latest technology, the knowledge is not yet cycled down to the tool's support team. The tool's support team is not mature enough to handle the tool. The promotion of a feature before it is mature may cause issues, and I feel that sometimes the deployment of such features is a little too early. The tool will release a feature, but it will have bugs in it. We face challenges because the tool's team doesn't have the knowledge to deal with the issues in the product's new features. When SAP develops something, if the tool's team doesn't know how to support it, it becomes a problem because now we have to access developers to get the information that is not readily available.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have had a massive return on full-time employee resources that we have saved by just using Automation Anywhere."
"Automation Anywhere's most valuable features include generative AI, similar to Copilot, which will significantly benefit developers; low-code or no-code technology; and document automation capable of extracting data from structured and unstructured PDF formats, presenting it clearly and easy to follow."
"There are things that used to take us a lot of time, like manual entries or HR queries, but now that the bots are in place, we are saving a lot of time."
"In our fund management and fund reconciliation process, we had a lot of headcount. Automation has significantly reduced our FTE count, investing that IT personnel into other work. Also, the quality of the work has slightly improved."
"In finance, it has helped us deliver on productivity and provided us with FTE savings."
"There has been a great return on investment."
"The Automation Anywhere University is a good tool. It goes topic-by-topic with real-time examples."
"The ease of use for the end user and the very low complexity in trying to build a bot are the big factors for us."
"Kryon RPA is very stable - we've not had many disruptions, and the product is updated regularly."
"Since then, we've been able to close numerous claims and therefore reduce our reserves by literally millions of dollars."
"The friendliness of the software is good because people without any technical background can start off on it. This solution makes it easy for us to use it, as there is no learning curve. With no learning curve, the development time turnaround decreases."
"Those 15,000 hours saved are a fantastic result and we're at a 99 percent success rate."
"The bot is typically about twice as fast as a person and more accurate, as long as the data going in is good. That is the biggest advantage."
"When the users utilize the Kryon solution, it cuts off more than 50 percent of the processing time as the logic has been pre-built."
"It has been a great value-add for us personally and easy to use."
"As a business user, it's so easy to use. With the recording of the processes, we didn't need to hire a specific developer... we are able to build most of our processes without having to develop the actual development skillset... the simplicity is the biggest win."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it offers an integrated development environment."

Cons

"OCR technology could be more inclusive by offering a wider range of supported languages, as its current selection is limited."
"More interactions with PDFs would be great for Automation Anywhere."
"Operationally, there's room for improvement, especially in the area of high-availability and deployment."
"One aspect I wish to mention regarding needed improvements is that Automation Anywhere currently works only on Windows systems."
"I just came to understand that there is a cloud attached to it. I would like to see how the cloud is going to work, because every application is coming out with a cloud version. If you are not on-premise, then you will need to have Citrix automation."
"I would like to have a command that allows me to add code, like C#. As a developer, this would be helpful."
"The technical support needs improvement."
"When we try to process structured documents but with some little pen marks, improper partitions, or faded documents, IQ Bot fails to extract data properly out of them."
"What we are lacking is OCR, the ability to read text. We would like it to have the ability to take a page which is free text and analyze it, and then for the robot to know what to do next. This ability does not exist in Kryon products."
"It could be more reliable in spying HTML."
"There could be some features to fix compatibility issues with firmware."
"Often, it's difficult to loop through a large data set unless the bot has access to the Excel file with specific settings and shortcodes."
"Further simplifying the low-code development process can attract a broader user base by making automation accessible to those with minimal technical skills."
"I would like to see a better OCR solution."
"What we are lacking is OCR, the ability to read text."
"When a project is very big, a lot of memory is taken up."
"The tool's support team is not mature enough to handle the tool."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have saved a lot of money on taxes based on the stuff that we run."
"We have a three-year contract with Automation Anywhere."
"The licensing fees are approximately $10,000 USD for between five and ten users."
"We have purchased licenses, but are trying to obtain more bot programmer licenses."
"We have reduced our headcount, approximately 200 to 300 employees, by eliminating manual, repetitive work. It provides profit to the business."
"Our annual licensing costs are about $500,000."
"They are already coming out with a community license, which is really good. That's something that I wish to have."
"Automation Anywhere is affordable."
"It is very cheap. I would rate the pricing a three out of ten, with ten being expensive."
"We've more than broken even over on the license. Year to date, we are at $120,000 in savings."
"They license per robot and we have 25 robots. You get so many robot licenses and can allocate those licenses to either attended, unintended, or Process Discovery bots. If you have 25 licenses, for example, you could have 20 automation bots and five process discovery. This allocation is flexible. There are also maintenance costs."
"The price is affordable."
"For an unattended robot it's $6000 a month."
"We're paying in the neighborhood of about $66,000 a year. The cost is fairly similar to its competitors' costs. It might have been a little bit more reasonable than the others, and that cost was with Process Discovery in addition."
"Kryon is slightly more expensive compared to UiPath."
"We have been able to alleviate two FTEs, which was a big savings for us. We were able to reuse those resources in other locations. It is over 5000 hours a year in total savings."
"The product is not cheaply priced."
