Our our official repository and it has disposal management and retention management
The security architecture is the only problem as it's a little bit complex and too torturous at times. So it could be improved a little bit, but it is regarded as a very good system in Australia. It's probably overly subscribed. Also, what's missing is what people would like, which is basically online collaboration. That's a problem. But it has so many other things to offer that SharePoint, I'm sure, will not have. So, that will be an interesting issue to come up. It's not very good at providing stable and robust add-ins to Microsoft. That's a bit of a problem with Content Manager. They're kind of very volatile. So, that's been definitely something that could be improved.

Has a user-friendly interface but performance is not up to scratch
I mainly use WebCenter for content management and publishing WebCenter's interface is very user-friendly. WebCenter requires a lot of design effort to upload content to our regular system. Its performance is also not up to the market standard, and its agility and adaptability could be improved.…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"HPE Content Manager provides organizations with a reliable system for managing massive amounts of information, in a structured, compliant and secure way, with a level of functionality and reliability that I have not seen matched by custom-built or other systems."
"An advantage is integration with your IP directory."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to search, sort and retrieve using metadata; in particular, the ability to create custom reports using the print merge functionality as per the requests that are issued from clients."
"Eliminated the need for paper records."
"For a records management system, Content Manager is a really good system."
"Customer Service: We appreciate HPE's team of resources, who assist us as issues arise."
"The product is valuable generally due to its wide use and acceptance in the public sector in my region."
"Drag and drop: With users having dual screens nowadays, this functionality is used a lot by staff and is also a good way to show people who are new to TRIM (HPE Content Manager) the simplicity of how things can be done."
"In terms of scalability, it is easy to scale."
"You can move workloads in between sub-servers so that you don't overload a portion of the server."
"The most valuable features to me are the ability to create contents with the interface, such as creating database tables, and the product's JSP APIs and REST APIs are also very useful."
"Integration within the solution is very good."
"A great solution for storing and searching large volumes of documents with easy access."
"The main feature and idea of dynamically creating navigation, pages and portals are overall good and very valuable."
"The WebCenter Content is its most valuable feature. After we update a document in WebCenter Content, it can be update automatically in our intranet (based on WebCenter)."
"Overall, this is a very good solution and other than the support for the Arabic translation, I cannot think of additional features that I would like at the moment."

Cons

"Generally speaking, HPE’s support for the product has been weak since the acquisition from TOWER Software."
"The product could improve its scalability."
"We have not yet utilized the web version, as we encountered a few issues during testing."
"This system eats up a lot of staff time for support, administration, and use."

"Pricing is an issue, as it is too expensive."
"Does not seem to be totally compatible with Windows 10 as of our current version."
"Its functions need more stability."
"I would like them to add more Web 2.0 features."

"Some parts of the product seemed to be unstable; various exceptions which lead to reaching out for Oracle support."
"If you compare it and other products side by side, you would not buy Oracle."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The fees incurred are for the licensing and maintenance."
"I rate the product price an eight or nine on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive. The solution is expensive."
"The solution's licensing cost depends on the customer domain. Though its costs are high, the product is worth the money. You have to pay a one-time cost and support costs."
"I would suggest that you do a thorough evaluation of all competing products and look for support for these products in your local area."
"WebCenter's pricing is on the higher side."
"The price of this solution is considered to be high; however, when speaking with Oracle, it is possible to get discounts of up to sixty percent."
"The price needs to be lowered."
