We utilize the Drive Enterprise for sharing, the search drive and the storage share.
Senior Consultant/System Analyst at a tech vendor with 51-200 employees
Good for sharing, searching and storage share
Pros and Cons
- "Low maintenance solution."
- "Record your meeting and simply share with anyone without thinking where to store the file."
- "The ease of user sharing information among people in the organization is the most valuable feature of this solution."
- "Google meets use of whiteboard is primitive making it difficult to demonstrate while talking."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The ease of user sharing information among people in the organization is the most valuable feature of this solution.
For example, when you have a meeting, you can record it and then simply share with anyone you would like. You don't have to think about where to put the file, everything is semi-automatic, everything is functional.
What needs improvement?
Microsoft Teams has a lot more features than Google. Google Meet allows you to collaborate by drawing on a whiteboard while talking in the meeting, however it is primitive and not user friendly as it is a bit challenging to try to demonstrate using the whiteboard.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Google Drive since day one of our organization.

How are customer service and support?
Google Drive Enterprise is a low maintenance solution.
What other advice do I have?
If you don't need the added features of Microsoft Teams, Google Meet will satisfy the needs of collaboration and discussion. It is a good integration of Google. There has been no problems or issues. I would give it a 9 out of 10.

Data analyst at a computer software company with 11-50 employees
Excellent performance, feature rich, easy to scale, and easy to use
Pros and Cons
- "Accessing their services is simple, user-friendly, and does not require a lot of technology."
- "When compared to Commvault or Veeam, I'm not sure what Google Drive has to offer in terms of backing up data on the cloud or in a data center for a large organization."
What is our primary use case?
I use Google Drive Enterprise for my personal use. I back up my files, photos, and other information I have stored on my mobile device, as well as my daily tasks, or whatever is done on my computer are backed up on my drive.
What is most valuable?
Accessing their services is simple, user-friendly, and does not require a lot of technology.
Google Drive Enterprise is easy to use.
What needs improvement?
Personally, I can't say what I don't like about Google Drive Enterprise because I haven't discovered anything better.
The price could be lower.
When compared to Commvault or Veeam, I'm not sure what Google Drive has to offer in terms of backing up data on the cloud or in a data center for a large organization.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using Google Drive for personal use for nine to ten years, and I've been a premium user for the last two years.
I'm using the most recent version. I use the web version rather than the app.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Google Drive Enterprise is a stable product.
Google Drive's performance is one of my favorite features. It doesn't take long to load, and everything happens instantly.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I currently have more than 300 GB of data on my Google Drive. I don't believe that scaling would be an issue. It's easy to scale.
How are customer service and support?
We have never had any issues that required assistance from technical support.
How was the initial setup?
When using their web version, no setup is required. If I'm using an Android app, for example, I only need to configure my storage. In Google Drive, I have to define my storage and what I want to back up, and it backs it up ahead of time.
Because it's for personal use, I haven't had any issues with it, such as difficulty setting it up or anything like that. It's not like Veeam or a formal setup that requires many machines for that environment.
I am not using it on a large scale, it's for my personal usage only.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The licensing fees are not cheap, but when you compare it to other products and the features it provides, it's reasonable.
The costs could be lower, but they are reasonable for the value they provide.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
The management in my company has just decided to switch over to cloud backup solutions, which is why I have been researching the various websites for products that are best for my use.
I am exploring, but management will review the information and make a decision. I don't know what they're going to decide, so I don't have a say in it.
What other advice do I have?
My family does not have access to the credentials, but if they needed something backed up or saved, they would just give it to me to store safely on my cloud.
For personal use, I would definitely recommend this solution.
I would rate Google Drive Enterprise a ten out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.

Non Medicaid Service Coordinator at a healthcare company with 11-50 employees
Versatile, extremely useful, and is quite stable
Pros and Cons
- "When we collaborate on a team project, everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the project."
- "Personally, I believe it is a great solution for businesses, but it all depends on how many people you have working for you and what your main goal is."
- "There are a few kinks to work out at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple and extremely useful."
What is our primary use case?
Because we work on projects, Google Drive is extremely versatile. It is interchangeable among users, and every one can edit at different times.
What is most valuable?
We are all in different parts of the world. When we collaborate on a team project, everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the project. There is a team leader who reviews and edits everything before we all get credit. It's pretty cool. I'm from a different era and teaching myself.
It's pretty straightforward. You have to have the right mindset for it, but it's pretty simple.
What needs improvement?
There are a few kinks to work out at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple and extremely useful.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Google Drive Enterprise is quite stable.
How are customer service and support?
I have not contacted technical support.
If I have an issue, members of my group navigate me through it. I have never had to contact them.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The University of Phoenix provides it. I've never had to pay any fees.
What other advice do I have?
I'm happy with how things are going right now because I'm getting used to them. That's probably a question for later, when I am more acquainted with my business. I'm hoping to graduate in May, and I need to write a 40-page dissertation. This is a tutorial of what is to come for me.
Google Drive is popular in this generation because it is so interchangeable. People can look into your documents if you provide them with a password.
Personally, I believe it is a great solution for businesses, but it all depends on how many people you have working for you and what your main goal is.
It brings a project together, which is wonderful.
The world today fascinates me. I remember encyclopedias and going to the library to look at Microfiche.
I think that it is fabulous. I have my own practice. I am in Social Services. This information is good for me and the people I network with. I can bring anybody, I want in, I can create documents and have others look at it and give me advice. I enjoy Good Drive.
I would rate Google Drive Enterprise a ten out of ten.

Secure, scalable, and useful collaboration function
Pros and Cons
- "The solution is easy to use, has good performance, and is secure."
- "The solution could improve User Access Management by showing more detailed information of which users have access to folders or files. For example, you can see which users have access one by one, but there is not a dashboard that can show what user has access to a library document."
What is our primary use case?
The main purpose we are using Google Drive Enterprise is for storing files and the collaboration function. We share documents with certain members of the company.
What is most valuable?
The solution is easy to use, has good performance, and is secure.
What needs improvement?
The solution could improve User Access Management by showing more detailed information of which users have access to folders or files. For example, you can see which users have access one by one, but there is not a dashboard that can show what user has access to a library document.

I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for approximately five years.

The solution is stable.

We have approximately 30 people using this solution in my organization.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There is a monthly fee that we pay for the use of this solution and the price is fair.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We evaluated Microsoft One Drive before choosing Google Drive Enterprise. We found the collaboration feature to be better with Google.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend this solution to others.
I rate Google Drive Enterprise a ten out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Regional Manager Fortinet at a tech services company with 5,001-10,000 employees
Easy to use, stable, and simple to scale
Pros and Cons
- "The possibility of working together in real-time on the same document is the most useful feature for me."
- "I also use Word from Microsoft Office. Sometimes it's difficult to find some features that are available in Office and not available in Google Docs or are in a different place (if you are more used to Word). We sometimes lose time trying to find certain useability features."
What is our primary use case?
Before I joined Fortinet, we used Google Drive as our main docking share platform. Now I use it to share documents and to collaborate in the same document. It's mostly just for sharing internally.
What is most valuable?
The possibility of working together in real-time on the same document is the most useful feature for me.
The initial setup is very easy.
The solution is very stable.
You can easily scale the solution if you need to.
What needs improvement?
I also use Word from Microsoft Office. Sometimes it's difficult to find some features that are available in Office and not available in Google Docs or are in a different place (if you are more used to Word). We sometimes lose time trying to find certain useability features.
For how long have I used the solution?
I started using the solution ten to 12 years ago. I've used it for a while. it's been over a decade.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I cannot recall ever facing any stability issues. It doesn't crash or freeze. There are no bugs or glitches. It's reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
While I have only really used a quarter of the space, it's easy just to pay to scale up and scale out.
How are customer service and technical support?
I've never dealt with technical support. I have a colleague that handles everything. Therefore, I cannot speak to how helpful or responsive they are.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is simple. It's straightforward and not overly complex.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I currently only use the free version. You can pay for more space on the drive if you need to.
In the past, I used the Enterprise version and we did have to pay for that. If you wanted to upgrade from free to Enterprise, there would be a cost involved, and, depending on how much you used, the price would rise.
My understanding is that it is more expensive than Microsoft Teams.
What other advice do I have?
I'm just an end-user.
I'd recommend the solution to others. It's easy, it's free, it's almost integrated with the contacts of Gmail, and you can add comments and automatically send notifications to the participants in the documents. It's integrated with other Google platforms. On top of that, it is easy to understand how to work with it.
I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

Technology Consulting Department Manager at a tech services company with 201-500 employees
Easily accessible from anywhere, whether for emails or applications
Pros and Cons
- "In terms of my work, I'm able to check emails from anywhere, and I can use the applications wherever I am."
- "It's become difficult to fit everything in one window."
- "They recently updated the email interface and I can't fit everything in one window."
What is our primary use case?
We are partners and resellers of Google Drive Enterprise. I'm a technology consulting department manager.
What is most valuable?
I've been using Gmail for such a long time and I'm really familiar with the interface. In terms of my work, I'm able to check emails from anywhere, and I can use the applications wherever I am.
What needs improvement?
They recently updated the email under 'interface' and I can't fit everything in one window. For example, I'm checking an email and half of it opens on the right side and you can't really read everything. The recent update is not really great for me because I'm used to having the space I need. I can't really minimize the chat box so I can read the emails wholly. There are so many things in the window, you can't really see it all and have to open a new window just to get access to the entire email.

I've been using this solution for four years.

IT Systems and Infrastructure Manager at a tech services company with 201-500 employees
Provides a secure backup service; somewhat lacking in customization
Pros and Cons
- "Provides a secure backup to my data."
- "The service gives me the confidence of knowing that I have a backup copy of all my data and it can be accessed at any time."
- "The product lacks customization."
- "The service could be improved if it could do more customization, because the model inside is pre-defined and there is no customization."
What is our primary use case?
My primary use case of this service is for storage. I have a package and I use it to synchronize my data and to keep a backup for my device and mobile phone. I'm an IT system and infrastructure manager, and a customer of Google Drive.
What is most valuable?
The service gives me the confidence of knowing that I have a backup copy of all my data and it can be accessed at any time.
What needs improvement?
The service could be improved if it could do more customization, because the model inside is pre-defined and there is no customization. I'd also like to see an extension of the packages because the first two packages have minimal space. The next release should have more customization and more storage for the packages.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using this service for 18 months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
This is a stable product.
How are customer service and technical support?
I haven't contacted technical support. I'm using a very limited part of the server, it's only storing data.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used Dropbox to store data, but when I had the option to move, I decided to go with Google Drive and not continue with Dropbox.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
This is not an expensive service.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Google Drive Enterprise, especially for Android users. It's the most suitable application or service.
