Reliable, straightforward to use, and offers great file sharing capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The initial setup is easy."
  • "It would be ideal if they could offer more GBs for free. Offering 15GBs is too small."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution to share documents between people in my company, and sometimes we also share with people outside the company.

What is most valuable?

The main feature we use is the file and photo-sharing capability. The other feature we also use quite often is the ability to make and share Google Sheets and Google Docs for authoring documentation.

Google, in general, is straightforward to use.

The initial setup is easy.

It is reliable.

We can scale the product.

What needs improvement?

It works for me quite well now. I do not have any suggestions for the future.

It would be ideal if they could offer more GBs for free. Offering 15GBs is too small.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for 15 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is very stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It is reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution can scale well. It's not a problem if you need to expand.

We have 50 users on the solution currently. We do not have plans to increase usage in the future.

How are customer service and support?

I have never used technical support. I don't know how helpful they are. It's an easy, stable solution, and I've never required help.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We also use One Drive from Microsoft. Previously, we used Dropbox. Microsoft offers more GBs to users (1TB). Google only offers 15GBs for free.

How was the initial setup?

The solution is quite simple to set up. It's quick to deploy. It takes just a click, and you are up and running. It just takes one engineer to set up and maintain the solution.

What about the implementation team?

It's so straightforward, anyone can do it. We do not need any consultants or integrators.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Users get 15GBs for free. After that, they have to pay.

What other advice do I have?

I'd recommend the solution to others, depending on what the company needs. If a user just needs a drive that's 15GBs per user, then Google Drive is okay. If they need more than that, they have to pay. However, One Drive gives a user 100GBs. It's much bigger and would be more practical for bigger users.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

Reliable uptime with the ability to synchronize files across different platforms
Pros and Cons
  • "Google Drive Enterprise has helped compile data in one spot."
  • "The free tier of storage is limited."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for document and file storage. Additionally, we use it to store interesting knowledge articles or books we are interested in.

How has it helped my organization?

Google Drive Enterprise has helped compile data in one spot, and its uptime is always very reliable and available. So it's a great way to have important information synced across multiple devices.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is its ability to synchronize files across different platforms. So the most recent copies of information and data are available and can easily be transferred offline. For example, if I edit a document on Google Drive, I know that there won't be an older version of it somewhere else.

What needs improvement?

The free tier of storage is limited, especially regarding the photos. Additionally, there is no editing option available via the mobile application. Hence the solution can be improved by consolidating viewing and editing features on mobile devices and expanding its free storage options.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Google Drive Enterprise for several years.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the solution a nine out of ten. I recommend new users considering the solution use multiple devices to sync all their files constantly and use folders within Google Drive Enterprise. Additionally, they should be aware of capacity limits and storage limits.

It allows me to transfer files between multiple devices at the same time
Pros and Cons

  • "You cannot upload multiple files with the same name to Google Drive."

What is our primary use case?

I work on Google Drive for personal use.

What is most valuable?

I like how Google Drive syncs content across all my devices. It allows me to transfer files between multiple devices at the same time. I also like the versioning features.

What needs improvement?

You cannot upload multiple files with the same name to Google Drive. I'm not sure how relevant it is for other users, but I have multiple files with the same name that I'm unable to upload to a single folder.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive for around eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Google Drive is scalable, but you have subscription fees to go to the next tier to save more data.

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Google Drive is simple.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate Google Drive Enterprise eight out of 10 for pricing.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Google Drive Enterprise nine out of 10.

The environment, ecosystem and elements bundled with the solution are not strong
Pros and Cons
  • "I find it valuable to have access to my files from any location."
  • "I find it valuable to have access to my files from any location."
  • "The price of additional storage could be reduced. I have an annual subscription and I'm only using 150GB because of the price."
  • "I rate the solution a three out of ten."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution at my job at least once a week to exchange files. About 15% of my time per week is devoted to it.

How has it helped my organization?

Staff exchange files through the solution.

What is most valuable?

I find it valuable to have access to my files from any location. If I'm traveling, I access files via my mobile or another terminal device. I have access to materials I want to take to my class and don't have to carry anything. I just put my files in the solution and open them wherever I need them. I don't even have to carry a flash drive.

What needs improvement?

The price of additional storage could be reduced. I have an annual subscription and I'm only using 150GB because of the price.

The environment, ecosystem, and elements bundled with the solution are not strong.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I don't use the product often enough to rate stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable if you pay for additional storage.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use 1TB of my Microsoft Drive extensively for various things. I haven't completely made the switch because of storage costs.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was not complex, but could be improved with dashboard clarity. For example, a colleague sends me a link to a file on his drive. When opening the link, it is not apparent if the file is still on his drive or now shared on mine. I shouldn't have to open the file to store it on my drive. I would like this ease-of-use workflow item to be improved.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Storage is the only product offered and that makes it expensive to use. If you compare it to Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, storage is incidental to other products, suites, and services. For example, Microsoft offers 1TB of storage with the purchase of Microsoft Office. The perception is that Microsoft offers free storage. It is convenient to package products and have fewer vendors with one support team. If I'm looking at storage only, I look at relative costs.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have evaluated and still use Microsoft Drive.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the solution a three out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Easy to use and makes file management and file sharing easy
Pros and Cons
  • "Though I don't see a major difference between Google Drive Enterprise and other competitors, I find that the solution is easy to use. It's very easy to manage files and share files on Google Drive Enterprise, and these are its most valuable features."
  • "It's very easy to manage files and share files on Google Drive Enterprise, and these are its most valuable features."
  • "Security-wise, Google Drive Enterprise needs improvement. Compared to its competitor: Kiteworks, Google Drive Enterprise is less secure."
  • "Security-wise, Google Drive Enterprise needs improvement."

What is our primary use case?

We've been using Google Drive Enterprise internally, particularly from one developer to another, for file sharing. With it, we can upload files and share files with other users. We can also give access to users or a full company, so they can access or edit files. We can also restrict and give "view only" access, so users are only able to download and not edit the files.

What is most valuable?

Though I don't see a major difference between Google Drive Enterprise and other competitors, I find that the solution is easy to use. You just need to connect to it and upload files and give access to users who need access to the files. It's very easy to manage files and share files on Google Drive Enterprise, and these are its most valuable features.

What needs improvement?

Security-wise, Google Drive Enterprise needs improvement. Compared to its competitor: Kiteworks, Google Drive Enterprise is less secure.

As for additional features that I'd like to see from Google Drive Enterprise in the future, in terms of security, it's only asking for OTP, but that's still fine. Storage-wise, storage could be increased especially if users have a large number of files to upload and users want to maintain all those files in the cloud rather than locally.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Google Drive Enterprise for three years, and I'm still using it.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is a stable solution. For the past three years that I've been using it, I didn't see any delay or issue when uploading or sharing files, and I also didn't experience any issues in terms of the server being down.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is a scalable solution. We can upload several files, but I'm unsure what the maximum file size is, for example, it could be 20 GB maximum, but I'm not sure. We can share files, but in a single upload, I'm unable to say what the limit is in terms of the file size.

How are customer service and support?

We didn't get the chance to connect with the technical support for Google Drive Enterprise because we haven't faced any issues with the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I have no information about the licensing or cost associated with Google Drive Enterprise.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated Kiteworks.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Google Drive Enterprise to other users. Normally the bank my company works with prefers Kiteworks, but my company suggested Google Drive for sharing and maintaining files and the bank is also okay with it.

I'm rating Google Drive Enterprise a nine out of ten versus Kiteworks which I'm rating a seven out of ten.

Feature-rich, easy to use, and has ample storage for file sharing and saving
Pros and Cons
  • "For me, the most valuable feature is basically saving and sharing documents with other people outside, having something to be co-shared. When documents are large in size, it is easier to send them via email."
  • "Because it combines multiple functionalities and features in one place, Google Drive was my go-to storage system."
  • "If they would implement something for people who have been working on Google Drive for so many years, to have an upgraded version or to be upgraded to that capacity or storage, that would be fantastic."
  • "If they would implement something for people who have been working on Google Drive for so many years, to have an upgraded version or to be upgraded to that capacity or storage, that would be fantastic."

What is our primary use case?

Google Drive Enterprise is something that I use for my personal use.

I use Google Drive Enterprise for storage.

I don't do much with it aside from saving and sharing access to certain documents or folders with other employees. That's what I've been doing for the past four years.

What is most valuable?

It's working fine for me. The storage capacity is quite good for me, and aside from that, I'm simply sharing the majority of the items I require to be saved.

It provided me with cloud storage for a number of documents that I have, as well as with some of the vendors that I work with we can share files that cannot be sent via email over Google Drive.

It has enabled some features that will assist me in continuing my work. On a personal level, it's actually fantastic.

For me, the most valuable feature is basically saving and sharing documents with other people outside, having something to be co-shared. When documents are large in size, it is easier to send them via email.

What needs improvement?

To some extent, my usage is very limited. Perhaps my experience with it is limited to sharing and storing. There is nothing truly critical that I could share with you to have implemented or included. For the time being, Google Drive meets my needs.

Of course, having more storage capacity would improve the experience for anyone working on Google Drive.

If they would implement something for people who have been working on Google Drive for so many years, to have an upgraded version or to be upgraded to that capacity or storage, that would be fantastic. That would be extremely beneficial.

If there is even a possibility, I haven't downloaded the desktop version to see if it has the same features as the web version. But, in general, if you can set permissions on specific folders and then give people access to them, you can keep track of who is doing what. Perhaps visibility and permissions for a functionality.

In the next release, I would like to have more functionality for other users to visit my Google Drive Account.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for my personal use for a couple of years since I created my Gmail account.

I have been working with Google Drive Enterprise for four years.

I am not sure what version it is, but when I join or log in, to my Gmail, I'm redirected to the Google Drive page via whatever shortcut is available on my page.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is definitely a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise scales extremely well.

How are customer service and support?

No, not until now. To be honest, I didn't have any problems that required me to contact Google technical support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Prior to that, I had a Dropbox account through which I used to share documents. But now that I have Google Drive, I hardly ever use Dropbox.

I believe it simply facilitates better because you have more features and functionalities than Gmail.

I either use my email account, then save things to Google Drive, and then share them through that, or I use Google Docs. Because it combines multiple functionalities and features in one place, Google Drive was my go-to storage system.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very simple. After working on it for so many years, I haven't encountered many issues or complexities.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I was reviewing the website to see what products were available.

We are planning to implement Cisco Stealthwatch in our network in the near future, I was thinking it would be a good idea to read up on the product and see what kind of features it offers.

It is still in the budgeting stage, but it will most likely be implemented in the coming months.

Because I work in the financial sector, it is required that the majority of our resources not be shared on a cloud basis. Anything that uses the cloud, such as Azure or Amazon Cloud, is usually not allowed on our network.

What other advice do I have?

I would definitely recommend this solution to others who are interested in using it.

I would rate it a perfect 10. As I previously stated, I have not encountered any difficulties or technical issues with it. It met my personal requirements for capacity and sharing. From my perspective or from my personal needs, it is working well for the time being.

I would rate Google Drive Enterprise a nine out of ten, allowing for some room for improvement.

Integrates well, has adequate storage, and is user-friendly
Pros and Cons
  • "It's easy to access from an Android device and can access things like cyber security restrictions on USB drives, file size, and so on. Google Drive will be an option."
  • "It is easy to access from an Android device and can handle things like cybersecurity restrictions on USB drives and file size, and I have been pretty happy with it."
  • "I would like to see the price reduced in the next release."
  • "I would like to see the price reduced in the next release."

What is most valuable?

It's easy to access from an Android device and can access things like cyber security restrictions on USB drives, file size, and so on. Google Drive will be an option.

So far, I have been pretty happy with it.

I don't believe there will be many issues with integration. It's quite simple.

I'm not a frequent user. I don't have any issues connecting to Google Drive.

What needs improvement?

Everyone wants more storage space, but for me, it's adequate.

I would like to see the price reduced in the next release.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Google Drive Enterprise for three or four years.

If you are a user, or if you have friends who use Google Suite, you will always deal with Google Drive.

I use it less, as there are several other options available.

I use both the mobile and web versions of this solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is stable. I am satisfied with the stability of this solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have no complaints about Google Drive Enterprise's scalability.

How are customer service and support?

I did not contact any support desks, but any support can be easily found on the internet.

When you search the web, you can easily find it. Everything is there.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have experience with both Automation Anywhere as well as UiPath, but more with UiPath because our company is a UiPath partner. We have a team of RPA specialists.

I also have experience using cloud solutions such as Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. Today, you cannot avoid other clouds. I cannot ignore any of these cloud provider services, along with Power platform, SharePoint, Office 365, Teams, and Dynamics.

We have recently encountered a number of SharePoint requirements. It's becoming increasingly popular. It is a hot topic in Hong Kong.

Dynamics is also becoming more popular.

How was the initial setup?

In my opinion, the initial setup was acceptable. For a basic user, it is straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

That would be ideal if it were as cheap as possible.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated other solutions such as OneDrive, and I like Google Drive better.

Perhaps I am used to the Google Drive experience. So, yeah, I prefer it to OneDrive. I believe it's just a matter of getting used to things as they are.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to anyone who is interested.

I would rate Google Drive Enterprise a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Easy to set up with simple file access and very reliable
Pros and Cons
  • "It's a stable product."
  • "I like that I can access files from anywhere."
  • "The only thing that's really been annoying is the single file size limit."
  • "The only thing that's really been annoying is the single file size limit."

What is our primary use case?

I usually use it for storing and organizing documents that I was using for training and stuff, which I can't use on my personal laptop, or on my office laptop. Anything which I use for my learning, if I put it on the work laptop, I can't get it out. Whatever I'm practicing on the web or anything, I usually park it there. That's one of the reasons why I don't use an app (due to company policy).

What is most valuable?

I like that I can access files from anywhere. In my case, I can't get anything out of the work laptop. That's why I park all my learning materials and personal critical documents there.

The initial setup is a breeze.

It's a stable product.

What needs improvement?

I've not reached a stage where I hit a snag and, "Oh, I wish this feature was there," or something like that. I've really not come across that so far.

I've not used the programming, the API version, to really comment on what could be simpler in that sense. The web version of it is pretty good.

The only thing that's really been annoying is the single file size limit. Apart from that, it's fine.

I'd like different storage tiers. The storage tiers are a little tricky. Up to the mid-range, it is good, and then after that, it's a huge bump. I don't really recall off the top of my head what storage is now. However, when I went for a paid subscription, I felt there was a huge gap between the two of the subscriptions, in terms of the storage. I thought I would find something in between, which would've been slightly better. That was about a year ago. I'm not sure if that has changed. At that time, when I looked at it, there were two options and my requirement was absolutely in the middle.

There might be one for 10GB and one for 100GB, and I might have needed 50GB and that wasn't an option.

When I upload something on photos and then there is something on Google Drive itself, the ability to see the photos that are uploaded as files on the drive, would be a good option to have. Accessing them on Google Drive itself could be much simpler.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for three to five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's very stable. I've never faced a situation where a document has gone missing or the service is not available. What they have and how they centralize the backup, it's absolutely fine.

How are customer service and support?

I've never really had to go to technical support. Using technical support may apply more when you are doing an API-based or programming-based access to things. In my case, with Google Drive, I use it predominantly on an interactive basis. I've never hit any problem.

Whenever I need additional services I can pay for the paid version for the duration I need, and once I'm done, I typically unsubscribe at the end of the month. Everything is pretty simple and quite effective. If I need additional power, I usually switch to a paid Colab version and bump up the CPUs I need for the DPUs.

Everything works fine. I really never had to seek out a support person to resolve an issue.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've also used Microsoft storage as well. I found Google is much better when it comes to searching, merging, and pulling documents. Microsoft can be inconsistent.

How was the initial setup?

The solution is very straightforward and simple. it's quite easy. It's not complicated at all.

What other advice do I have?

I'm an end-user.

I usually use the web version.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.
