Fast with good performance but needs more integrations
Pros and Cons
  • "The pricing is decent."
  • "We'd like more integrations to be available in the future."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for security. We use it between businesses to protect endpoints.

What is most valuable?

The solution is very fast.

The EDR is quite helpful.

It is stable. The performance is good.

Overall, it works very well.

It's good for blocking threats.

Technical support is excellent.

It is scalable.

The pricing is decent.

What needs improvement?

When I have the protection of my terminal or device, I don't have a problem. I haven't had any issues.

We'd like more integrations to be available in the future.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using the solution for two months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability and performance are very good. There are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze. It is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is quite stable. We have the advanced version, and there is a possibility to upgrade as necessary.

We have close to 100 people using the solution. We do not have plans to increase usage. We are a small enterprise. We'd only increase the usage if the number of resources increases.

How are customer service and support?

We have used technical support. They are very reactive and experienced.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did use any other EDR solutions. We also have experience with Norton, for example. The experience was not positive.

How was the initial setup?

My understanding is that the solution is easy to set up. However, I did not participate in the setup.

It took two days to deploy the solution.

In terms of planning, we are looking to fully deploy it in the next two months.

We have about ten technical people that can handle deployment and maintenance tasks. We had two main people managing it, and others handled the systems and network.

What about the implementation team?

We did not need a consultant. We had an integrator handling the setup, and it was easy to deploy it. Typically, it can be handled by a technical team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have a license that covers 100 people. We have a license that we pay yearly. We generally pay for two years at a time.

The licenses are affordable.

What other advice do I have?

I'm an end-user. The solution is new to me. I'm not sure of the version number we are using.

I'd recommend the solution to others. We plan to integrate it with more things and help control more devices. We'll integrate it with our network assessment devices as well.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Impressive firewall options, great filtering and blocking
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution does a good job of filtering and blocking unusual traffic."
  • "The system can be heavy, slowing down performance."

What is our primary use case?

We use EDR on our Windows servers, desktops and laptops. Our use case is for security, file scanning and to prevent data loss.

What is most valuable?

The firewall options are impressive, the solution does a good job of filtering and blocking unusual traffic. It's very easy to use, easy to deploy, and easy to operate.

What needs improvement?

No product is perfect and I think the stability could be improved a little. I'd also like to see performance improvement as the system can be heavy, slowing down our computers, and things don't always work smoothly. Performance could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've had a license with Kaspersky for six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. We have around 700 users in the company.

How was the initial setup?

EDR is deployed from the server, it's an easy and manageable process. It's a matter of the system administrator running the profile from the server.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have a three-year license. It was initially very reasonably priced but we are based in Pakistan and we are not doing well against the dollar so the price has increased significantly.

What other advice do I have?

I've recommended this solution to many colleagues. I think Kaspersky is a reliable and stable solution.

I rate this solution nine out of 10.

Provides inbound and outbound scanning, data loss protection, and encryption
Pros and Cons
  • "Encryption is the most valuable feature. It creates an encryption tunnel from your location to the delivery address."
  • "It's not a simple implementation."

What is our primary use case?

It's our primary, go-to product for email security. It covers our inbound and outbound mail. If somebody clicks on a bad link inside your company, it will automatically stop them from using that email to spread the rest of the phishing attempts. It checks outbound emails, not just inbound.

The solution is deployed on the cloud.

There are about 12 users in my organization.

If we get a new employee, we'll buy another license. Otherwise, we don't have plans to increase usage. It scales with the amount of staff that we have.

How has it helped my organization?

It doesn't matter from where you log in, you're going to go through the Barracuda gateway. It will protect and filter any incoming mail. There's also a sandboxing feature. If Barracuda picks up something that's a little bit fishy, it will detonate it in the sandbox.

If it's not malicious, it'll pass it on. If it is malicious, it'll just quarantine it. The nice thing is that sometimes Barracuda doesn't know if the mail is good or bad for you. It gives you the option to allow delivery or to block delivery of that particular kind of mail.

If someone is trying to send you mail but is being blocked by your gateway, you can go into your Barracuda portal, see the last mail that came in, and you can choose from different options: allow/don't allow, deliver, once only, block user, or whatever the case may be.

In some cases, we can also restrict it, but only the admin can do that. If you have a problem and one of your clients can't send you mail, you need to contact the admin IT manager and tell them that you're expecting mail from a certain email address but you've been blocked. He will then allow the delivery of that. It gives you control over what gets delivered to your end users from an IT manager's point of view.

What is most valuable?

Encryption is the most valuable feature. It creates an encryption tunnel from your location to the delivery address. It's like a tunnel that can't be broken so that your mail can't be intercepted anywhere along the line. When you're using Barracuda as a gateway, your mail is guaranteed to be delivered as it was sent.

The other nice thing about the solution is that it's an archiver, which most companies need for compliance.

For e-discovery, a lot of legal companies need certain documents and for emails to be kept intact as they were sent. It acts as a paper trail.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's pretty stable. It's older than Mimecast. The management tool is web-based, so it's also convenient.

It's managed on Barracuda Cloud Control. It covers spam, email viruses, email malware, phishing, undelivered mail, unsecured emails, and denial of service attacks. It's agentless and because it's an all-in-one product, it covers basically everything.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the scalability as 10 out of 10.

How was the initial setup?

The difficulty of setup will depend on the number of users. It's scalable with the amount of users that you have. Setup with 1,000 users will obviously take longer than 10 users.

There is a labor cost involved in implementation. It takes about seven hours to deploy. There are a lot of different aspects involved in setup. It's not a simple implementation.

Once implemented, it's easy to maintain. Once the setup is done, it's fairly easy.

If you've given all your users rights, they can decide what mail comes through what doesn't. This makes an IT manager's job a lot easier. If you've kept the retention and everything needs to come through the admin or IT office but you send the alerts to the customer, then it's going to be pretty intensive depending on how many users you have.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution isn't the cheapest considering what you get. I would rate the pricing as seven out of ten.

The cost depends on what features you want. If you want to add advanced email security and compliance, advanced threat protection, cloud archiving services, and data loss protection, then there will be an additional cost.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate the solution as nine out of ten.

I would recommend complete compliance for most customers because it offers you email security services. It provides inbound and outbound scanning, blocking, and sandboxing.

It gives you data loss protection, encryption, and link and typosquatting protection. It also gives you advanced threat protection and cloud archiving services. That is all-in-one email protection.

Provides reports and helps us with our servers
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features are the reports."
  • "We would like to have better strategic information."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use this solution for users, servers, and services that we have implemented in our company.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are the reports.

What needs improvement?

There are no issues with this solution. However, we would like to have better strategic information. We currently have tactical, and it's hard to make strategic decisions based on what it delivers.

In addition, we have about 600 users using this solution.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for over four years. It is deployed on-premises.

How are customer service and support?

I rate the technical support a six out of ten because the support depends on the type of contract we have. We have a special contract, so we just need to submit a case and get a response within 24 hours.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Our licensing costs are annual.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this solution a nine out of ten.

Reliable, stable, and can identify any attack
Pros and Cons
  • "What I like best about Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is that it can detect any cyber attack and that it's a reliable product in the cybersecurity space. My company has confidence in it as a product for detecting all cyber attacks. It's a reliable product."
  • "An area for improvement in Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is its technical support because currently, technical support is delayed."

What is our primary use case?

Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is used for detecting cyber attacks.

What is most valuable?

What I like best about Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is that it can detect any cyber attack and that it's a reliable product in the cybersecurity space. My company has confidence in it as a product for detecting all cyber attacks. It's a reliable product.

What needs improvement?

An area for improvement in Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is its technical support because currently, technical support is delayed.

For how long have I used the solution?

My experience with Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is three or four years, and I'm still working with it.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is a stable product because I didn't see any issues when I was using it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response can be scaled to other solutions, for example, we used an antivirus first, then expanded to EDR using the same console and same server for management, and in the future, we can top it up with a sandbox solution on the same console.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support provided for Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response needs to be faster.

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is easy. You can deploy it from the server or the main console. How long the deployment of the tool would take would depend on the network traffic during deployment and on the endpoint quantity.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing for Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is so-so when you compare it with its competitors. Its pricing isn't cheap nor expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a product manager that handles Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response. My company is a distributor and reseller of the product in Thailand.

I don't remember the exact version number of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response, but I'm using its latest version.

My rating for Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is eight out of ten.

If I had the chance to speak to others, my advice would be to use Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response.

Good security that runs quietly in the background and is not hard to set up
Pros and Cons
  • "It helps improve security in our organization."
  • "The solution could always be more secure."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for security purposes, as an antivirus. It prevents threats to our business. Our aim is to make sure that our machines are protected at all times.

What is most valuable?

It's just running in the background. It doesn't bother us, and we don't even notice it is there.

It helps improve security in our organization. The protection on offer is good.

The initial setup is straightforward.

What needs improvement?

The solution could always be more secure. Every antivirus solution could be, as things are always dynamically changing. There is always a new risk on the horizon.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for over three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable. It is reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. We haven't had any issues at all.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I can't speak to the scalability of the product. It's not an aspect that I handle.

We have about 1,000 people on the solution right now.

We do not plan to increase usage. It depends on the number of employees that we have. If the number increases, then we usually increase usage since any machine that comes into our network must have an antivirus on it.

How are customer service and support?

I've never dealt with support. I can't speak to how their services are.

How was the initial setup?

It is simple to set up and configure. We haven't had any issues with the process. it's not complex.

I'm not sure how long it took to deploy.

There are three people in our organization that can deploy and maintain the product.

We have enough people in terms of implementation and management as we have multiple sites that are managed by different people.

What other advice do I have?

We tend to use the latest version of the solution in our organization. I can't speak to the exact version number.

I would recommend the solution to others. I tested it on my personal computer before and found it worked fine. It's a reputable antivirus. I don't have a problem with it.

As a customer, I am satisfied. I'd rate it nine out of ten.

Good blocking capabilities and patching but needs better support
Pros and Cons
  • "The performance for Kaspersky is good, and it's not impacted our client performance."
  • "There are some cases that take three days to deal with. It's too long."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for endpoint protection.

What is most valuable?

In the software that I use at Kaspersky, we have some options that we made to our client LiDAR for the block patching, and we can close the high chain.

The endpoint protection can update the patching from this server directly to the client, and every employee.

The performance for Kaspersky is good, and it's not impacted our client performance.

It offers good blocking capabilities.

The upper patching is excellent.

What needs improvement?

We have some problems with LiDAR. When we do the install, or reinstall the server console, or server endpoint protection, I don't know why we need to reinstall it.

Even though we installed, or did a new install for the server endpoint protection features, we use some small PDO or some patching to upgrade it in the employee protection clients if that's in.

I need a local expert. I'm looking for more experts to be able to apply it to certain solutions that we understand already. In order to meet our requirements, we need more experts.

There are some cases that take three days to deal with. It's too long.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for as long as I've been at the company - about one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

While the client is stable, for the console management, we have some problems with LiDAR. Sometimes, we installed it and had a problem and we need to reinstall it. In the last hour, the client can not do the configuration yet we need to add clients into the platform.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We don't find it to have enough space.

We have below 100 people on the solution.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is not too bad. I can say that it is in the middle of the road. They can be slow to respond.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We used either an integrator or consultant. We had help from a third party and didn't handle the entire implementation ourselves.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is good. I'd rate it four out of five in terms of affordability.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did compare Kaspersky EDR with other software vendors.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a customer and end-user.

I would rate the solution a seven out of ten. If we had more local expertise and better support, it would be better.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Reliable and straightforward to set up but needs to cover more devices
Pros and Cons
  • "It is easy to manage."
  • "If it covered more products, it would improve the XDR."

What is our primary use case?

We are using it to protect our user end. For the server-side, we are using Trend Micro.

What is most valuable?

It is easy to manage.

The initial setup is simple.

It is stable.

We have local support available to us.

What needs improvement?

I could be covering more devices, for example, the XDR. If it covered more products, it would improve the XDR.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for three to four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable and reliable.

We are not facing any major issues regarding the protection of the endpoints. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Around 2,000 people use the solution. We do not plan to increase usage.

How are customer service and support?

We have a local company here in Pakistan that we get support from.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We also use Trend Micro.

How was the initial setup?

The initial implementation process is easy and very straightforward. It's not overly complex. It only takes one to two days to handle the complete deployment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm not sure about how the licensing works. It may be per user. I'm not certain.

What other advice do I have?

I'm not sure which version of the solution we're using. I don't have that information.

I'm not directly using this Kaspersky solution. The other team is managing the solution, and that's why I don't have much personal experience. I do not manage it directly.

I'd recommend the solution to other users and companies.

I'd rate the product seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
