| Sr. Project Manager at Stradley Ronon | 2.5 | I use LiquidPlanner for project management. While dashboards are good, its rigid methodology and reliance on time tracking make it cumbersome and unsuitable for our organization's needs. It requires a significant organizational change. |
| Training or Education at a government with 1,001-5,000 employees | 5.0 | I use LiquidPlanner for diverse projects, valuing its ability to show new priorities' impact and manage tasks with best/worst case scenarios. Setup is easy and customer service excellent, though I'd like more iOS app triggers. |
| Salesforce certified system admin at a cloud solution provider with 51-200 employees | 5.0 | I find Liquidplanner excellent for its cloud-based collaboration, providing a single source of truth and improving compliance. While expensive, I believe it's worth every penny due to its stability, great support, and continuous improvements as an optimal PM solution. |

It hasn't. It is good concept-wise, but it is not really conducive to what real project management ends up being in the end.
Its dashboards and reports are the most valuable. We are able to share these reports and other information with our leadership.
It is a little rigorous in its methodology and is cumbersome. For example, I have a hard stop date and I would like a project to end by a specific date, but this is not how this solution works. It sorts of spits out the project date based on your resource availability, dependencies, and so on. This sort of project planning works in theory, but that's not always the case.
It also relies heavily on resources entering their time into the system, that is, how much time they worked on each of the tasks so that it can sort of consistently update the project. I know that in a lot of organizations, including ours, it is almost impossible to get them to track the time.
In terms of additional features, they can include more integration with Microsoft because integration is going to be a key functionality.
It is stable. There are no issues.
It is scalable. You can add as many projects as you want to it depending upon your budget, licensing, and the number of people you want to add. We have about 50 licenses. I am probably one of the two people actually using this solution.
Their customer service and technical support are great.
Using LiquidPlanner requires a change in the way an organization sees project management. A project manager can't really use this solution without the rest of the organization being on board with it. This is really the issue. It is a good solution for the right organization. It just isn't right for us.
I would rate LiquidPlanner a five out of ten.
Several types of project, research and tech projects. It allows me to see and take several steps at the same time throughout the process. Great for planning the amount of time needed to complete tasks.
In a high paced environment, we are always changing our focus and new priorities are always being added, LiquidPlanner allows me to add these new tasks and get an immediate snapshot of how it will impact my other priorities. It helps me identify what needs to change or stay the same.
LiquidPlanner is a great tool for Getting Things Done enthusiasts and project managers in general. It allows you to break down your project into multiple steps with best/worst case time scenarios and then gives you a complete picture of the project timeline and tasks in an easy to understand format. The reminders are fantastic! I have used it has a professional with a paid account, and also as a university student with a free academic account. I have used the timer function to record how much time I am spending on a task so that I can bill clients or to just to have it for future reference, it's a nice feature! Uploading documents really makes sharing and keeping things in a central location very handy.
I'd like to see more power and triggers in the iOS app. For example, a similar product on the market sends you a alert on your phone if you are in a certain geographic area to remind you to do a task while in that area.
Three to five years.

Customer Service:
Excellent
Technical Support:
Have not needed tech support.
I was using a much more expensive alternative that has no web interface. While it has features that I like, it doesn't have a web interface that I can see on a large monitor like LiquidPlanner.
The setup is the easiest I have seen. The tutorials are fast and friendly, and it's one of the primary reasons I selected LiquidPlanner. I started using it within a few minutes!
While using this professionally it was about $30 per month for myself to collaborate with a few teams members. College students can get a free account if they have a .edu email account. I strongly encourage it, I wish I had this product years ago!

Users must understand that LiquidPlanner is not a calendaring program. It focuses on listing tasks, simplifying collaboration, and Getting Things Done! It gives you a really easy way to see how long tasks and projects will take, and if there will be conflicts. Identifying bottlenecks and conflicts is the power that LiquidPlanner offers that other products do not.
Two stick out, firstly the fact is that its cloud based and secondly the many levels of collaboration that are available.
None really, perhaps my only comment is that it is not cheap but in saying that, its worth every penny.
Six years, I have been using Liquidplanner since they launched.

I had been using MS Project and switched because we wanted a web based solution and where looking for the ability to improve collaboration and file sharing. As much as I love Liquidplanner, MS project is still an awesome tool.
Initial setup was straightforward, some of the their upgrades included extensive changes and there was a bit of a learning curve with the upgrades. Documentation and support helped me through it.
We implemented in house.
As we are a non profit, Liquidplanner gave us a generous discount and I believe they still provide discounts for non profits.
Yes I did but it was six years ago so I cannot remember which other options I looked at. I was getting excellent support from Liquidplanner so that was what sealed it for me.
There is no perfect Project Management platform, you will need to settle with an optimum solution. Spend time evaluating all the options out there before deciding.
Liquidplanner continues to release upgrades and its very clear that the new features being rolled out are a result of them listening intently to their customers
