Comprehensive procurement management with room for performance improvement
Pros and Cons
  • "It's a tightly integrated solution."
  • "Performance issues and handling of financial data could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We are using Oracle E-Business Suite for end-to-end application of the Oracle procurement management. It gives me a complete picture and the cost of production of goods. Additionally, we use it for our application database server, along with storage and the tape.

How has it helped my organization?

It's a tightly integrated solution. We could roll out other operating units very quickly without depending on the developer. There's a lot of leverage for Oracle E-Business Suite in the market.

What is most valuable?

The Oracle procurement management is valuable as it provides a complete picture and the cost of production of goods.

What needs improvement?

There are performance issues and handling of financial data that could be improved. We upgraded to the latest version which comes with better support for other integration.

Offers good reporting view but needs to improve the document flow
Pros and Cons
  • "It is a very stable solution."
  • "In Oracle E-Business Suite, there should be a proper document flow for each transaction."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution at an entry-level in my company because it's not fully implemented. I am an internal auditor in my company, so I have limited access here, and I just take care of the reporting views and displays. I have no rights to entry or other posting-related functions. I can just talk about the reporting experience associated with the tool.

I do internal audits in my company. On a daily basis, I have to extract many reports, like general ledgers, procurement-related registers, invoices reports, sales reports, receivable reports, and accounts receivable aging reports. During my review of the reports mentioned above, I found Oracle E-Business Suite very good. I have already used SAP Business One software. Compared to SAP Business One software, Oracle E-Business Suite's reporting is very wide and clear.

What is most valuable?

With the limited scope of the tool, I cannot enlist the product's overall advantages and disadvantages. Compared to SAP Business One, Oracle E-Business Suite is much better in terms of reporting views.

What needs improvement?

In Oracle E-Business Suite, there should be a proper document flow for each transaction. There should be some features in Oracle E-Business that are included in SAP Business One. I have used SAP Business One, and if we open a transaction, we can move to another related transaction through its map. In SAP Business One, each transaction has a map, but Oracle E-Business Suite does not offer such type of relationship maps or document flows for transactions.

The tool can have proper document flow for the mapping system in Oracle E-Business Suite to show each transaction. One should be able to link the transaction through the map.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Oracle E-Business Suite since 2024. I don't remember the version of the solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a very stable solution. Each report has a proper Oracle view and format and contains a lot of information. The tool's stability is very good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I cannot speak about the overall growth of the product in my company since, based on my scope in the organization, I only deploy the product in all the departments. Based on my role, I can add value to our departments with the help of the tool.

More than 20 people use the tool. The tool has been implemented throughout my company.

How was the initial setup?

The solution is deployed on an on-premises version of the tool.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I have no idea about the price.

What other advice do I have?

One issue I faced while extracting reports may have been a networking issue. Sometimes, it takes some time to execute the reports.

If there are any changes we want to make in the tool, we can customize the reports as per our needs, which is a good option. The tool is flexible.

Our company has not yet implemented the AI automation system.

I have not faced any challenges in working with the product since I have already used SAP Business One.

Based on the needs and challenges of users, I can recommend the tool to them.

I have met so many of my colleagues from other organizations, and I have asked them to implement the Oracle E-Business Suite, as I found it to be working well for me.

I rate the tool a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

How are customer service and support?

Our support is through another company, and based on old experiences, I would rate it eight out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before, my company used SAP, which I believe is better for manufacturing. However, for financial sectors, Oracle is the better choice.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is not difficult for me due to my fifteen years of Oracle experience. I would rate the setup a nine.

What about the implementation team?

We support through another company, so the implementation team was external, which I cannot comment on specifically.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost is expensive. It depends on the company contract, but generally, both Oracle and SAP have similar user costs at two thousand dollars.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

In manufacturing, I would recommend SAP over Oracle, as SAP Suite is better for that sector, whereas Oracle is more suitable for financial sectors.

What other advice do I have?

For new users, if it's in the financial sector, I recommend Oracle. However, for manufacturing, I would recommend exploring SAP.

I would rate it an eight out of ten.

Streamlined finance operations with integration power but needs enhanced healthcare modules
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of Oracle EBS are its ease of use, integration capabilities, and the General Ledger reporting, including the FSG reporting."
  • "Additional improvements could include better healthcare management functionalities, such as specialized modules for OPD and IPD for patients."

What is our primary use case?

We are using Oracle EBS for the health industry, focusing on supply chain, purchasing, and integration with Oracle FlexAccord GL and Gatch Management. It is integrated with Oracle EBS accounts receivable, particularly as a sub-billing module for our patients.

How has it helped my organization?

Oracle EBS has provided ease of use, robust integration, and reliable reporting functions such as General Ledger and FSG reporting. It has also automated certain processes creating efficiencies in accounting and reporting, benefiting the finance department.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Oracle EBS are its ease of use, integration capabilities, and the General Ledger reporting, including the FSG reporting. These features make it helpful in fetching data and generating reports.

What needs improvement?

Additional improvements could include better healthcare management functionalities, such as specialized modules for OPD and IPD for patients. A more web-based user experience like Oracle Fusion would also be appreciated.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have personally been working with Oracle EBS for about 11 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Oracle EBS sometimes requires service requests or optimizations which occur roughly every six months.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

For the healthcare industry, Oracle EBS requires more work for integration, particularly in implementing healthcare-specific modules.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support provided is reliable and responsive, especially when security levels demand their urgent attention.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, an in-house developed software system was used with manual data imports and segregated modules.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was tedious but manageable over time, and involved significant change management, which is a common industry challenge.

What about the implementation team?

The deployment was handled by a small team, consisting of me and two other members as technical and functional staff.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Licensing costs were a significant consideration, and Oracle Analytics was deemed too expensive compared to Power BI, which we opted for due to Outlook 365 licensing.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

In considering solutions, although acknowledged, Oracle Analytics was not chosen due to its cost compared to Power BI.

What other advice do I have?

Being aware of the industry reluctance towards new technology adoption is crucial. Emphasis on the long-term benefits and operational enhancement is important to encourage this transition.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

Valuable integration APIs but lacks process flexibility

What is our primary use case?

We are using Oracle ERP to run our financial services, including accounts receivable, general ledger, and payments, accounts payable. The solution is utilized to manage our financial services and back-office departments that are not related to the product or insurance.

How has it helped my organization?

Oracle ERP has provided stability and integration with banks and financial institutions, which has been beneficial for our operations.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of Oracle ERP is the integration APIs that they offer. They allow us to integrate data efficiently and manage various processes and tasks.

What needs improvement?

An area for improvement is related to the flexibility of the processes in Oracle ERP. It is challenging to change processes within the system, which sometimes hampers our ability to quickly adapt to new requirements. Adding a BPM (Business Process Management) layer over the ERP could make it more flexible.

For how long have I used the solution?

The solution has been in use since 2021 or 2022.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Oracle ERP has proven to be very stable and solid.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Oracle ERP is very scalable. It provides a high degree of scalability, which meets our needs effectively.

How are customer service and support?

On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate Oracle's technical support an 8. It is pretty solid.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What was our ROI?

The return on investment is enough. While it is not exceptional, it meets our stability and integration needs with banks and financial institutions.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Oracle ERP is very expensive. The licensing fees are particularly high, making it challenging to buy new licenses. We often seek internal solutions to avoid purchasing additional licenses due to their cost. I don't have specific details regarding consultant fees.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

Has financial, sales and manufacturing modules
Pros and Cons
  • "Financials, which are essential to all ERPs, and manufacturing and sales models are among the most valuable features. The specific features implemented depend on the company's needs."
  • "Oracle E-Business Suite is hard and takes six months to one year to implement."

What is our primary use case?

We use the tool for typical ERP use cases.

What is most valuable?

Financials, which are essential to all ERPs, and manufacturing and sales models are among the most valuable features. The specific features implemented depend on the company's needs.

The tool integrates data across all transactions.

What needs improvement?

Oracle E-Business Suite is hard and takes six months to one year to implement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for 20 years.

How are customer service and support?

Oracle Support operates 24/7 worldwide, but the quality of support can vary based on your specific needs and your chosen support plan. They provide documentation and a support line tailored to your support agreement.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

Deployment requirements vary depending on the models. For the financials model, you typically need between 10 and 20 people for setup and implementation. Depending on the company's levels, this includes various functional areas, key users, and support personnel.

For financial modules, there are about five people involved in the installation. If you include manufacturing and sales solutions, the team supporting it would require around ten people. Each module typically requires specialists to implement it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Oracle E-Business Suite is cheaper than SAP. It is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

SAP and Oracle have the best ERPs. Many distribution and retail companies in Mexico use Oracle E-Business Suite. I rate the overall product an eight out of ten.

Offers valuable finance tools
Pros and Cons
  • "Its drag-and-drop features make data distribution a breeze."
  • "It is on the expensive side."

How has it helped my organization?

What is most valuable?

In my EBS experience, the finance tools stand out for their efficiency. Transitioning to Oracle E-Business Suite has been a game-changer. As someone with a background in user experience development, I quickly adapted to its user-friendly interface within days. The graphical dashboards and reports, previously requiring extensive technical effort in EBS, are now effortlessly presented in Oracle E-Business Suite. Its drag-and-drop features make data distribution a breeze. Overall, Oracle E-Business Suite's intuitive design and powerful insights make it a standout for cloud-based business operations.

What needs improvement?

The only thing that could be improved is the pricing. It is on the expensive side.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Oracle E-Business Suite since 2012.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of Oracle E-Business Suited depends on the partner handling the deployment. With the right deployment, issues are rare and mostly stem from hardware or database maintenance. I haven't encountered many bugs in the system itself, so it is generally quite stable. I would give it a nine out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the scalability as an eight out of ten. We have approximately 240 clients using the solution.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate Oracle technical support as a seven out of ten. They are generally helpful, but the key concern is their commitment to response time rather than resolution time.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

At my previous company, we used both Oracle and SAP. While SAP is known for manufacturing, the decision to choose Oracle was driven by the superior financial capabilities, especially in EBS, and the robustness of Oracle, being a true cloud solution. Unlike SAP, Oracle's approach to the cloud is more native, offering a distinct advantage.

How was the initial setup?

Deploying Oracle E-Business Suite, the cloud version, is straightforward - no need for complicated setups. Just choose a username and password, and you are ready. Configuration tasks like workflows and organization structures are handled by partners like Triad. Unlike traditional software, Oracle doesn't require deploying databases, making it hassle-free. The timeline for implementation varies. Simple processes may take three to four months following the Oracle Unified Method. However, more complex modules like manufacturing could extend to around six months. The duration also depends on client involvement, from gathering requirements to user acceptance testing. It is a collaborative effort with both the partner and the client. I am involved in troubleshooting and providing Managed Services and SNA. After a system goes live, clients often need ongoing support, especially if they lack a dedicated IT team. We step in as tier one or tier two support, offering what some call "day two services." It is a crucial part of our service portfolio and ensures comprehensive 360-degree support for our clients.

What was our ROI?

Oracle E-Business Suite brings time savings by minimizing manual work and provides enhanced visibility into processes and inventory. From a return on investment perspective, the benefits are substantial.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Oracle E-Business Suite is pricey, but it is worth the money. I would rate it as an eight out of ten in terms of costliness.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate Oracle E-Business Suite as a nine out of ten.

Disclosure: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.

A stable solution with excellent finance and asset management features
Pros and Cons
  • "Financial and asset management features are valuable."
  • "The initial setup is complex."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for our mainstream business. We use it for financial, procurement, and asset management.

What is most valuable?

Financial and asset management features are valuable.

What needs improvement?

The initial setup is complex.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for almost ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The tool is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Oracle provided us with one or two solutions. When we purchased the products, Oracle gave us scalable solutions. Almost 180 people are using the solution in our organization. The number of users will decrease after the upgrade process.

How are customer service and support?

We raise service requests to Oracle.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment took one and a half years. The solution is deployed on-premises. The deployment process has two phases. It took us nearly two years. We need at least ten people to deploy the product.

What about the implementation team?

We contacted Deloitte to deploy the solution.

What was our ROI?

The product is worth the money.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We need to pay for the license annually. The solution is quite expensive.

What other advice do I have?

We are not using the latest version of the solution. We are planning to change the product. We are researching ERPs from SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft. We decided to use Oracle ten years ago. We are more interested in Microsoft Dynamics because we use Microsoft products like Microsoft 365 and Teams.

Currently, we are upgrading the software. We contacted Oracle to upgrade the tool. I would recommend the solution to others, but we faced some issues. We couldn't upgrade to the latest version. We don't have the latest version of the database or application.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises
