We do not use Oracle E-Business Suite. We provide support and customization for the platform.
Our clients, on the other hand, use Oracle E-Business Suite for administration, finances, and inventory.

Our clients, on the other hand, use Oracle E-Business Suite for administration, finances, and inventory.
In our clients, eBS has enhanced the capacity to attend large volumes of transactions, which allows them to quickly attend to requests from their own clients and a prompt response from their suppliers.
The financial aspect of Oracle E-Business Suite is the most valuable for our customers. The solution is perfect for big industry and high-scale e-business transactions.
Oracle E-Business Suite is not great for small and medium-sized enterprises. Those clients are better suited for Oracle's NetSuite.
It would be great to see Oracle E-Business Suite become less dependent on the SOA solution, which is an integration solution for Oracle platforms.
I have been a partner for Oracle E-Business Suite for 28 years. We have been implementing and supporting e-businesses since the beginning.
Oracle E-Business Suite is very stable. In fact, that is why most clients land on this solution.
Oracle is continuously patching, upgrading, and reporting any changes or security issues, which contributes greatly to the stability of the solution.
The scalability is good. However, how well it scales will depend on who is implementing the scaling. It has to be carried out by a highly-skilled team. Technical support comes in handy here.
Oracle provides good support for the E-Business Suite.
Positive
Oracle E-Business Suite does have a complicated deployment model. It is a SaaS solution, so deployment entails multiple databases and server configuration. The connection between the database and the application has to be configured as well.
You do have to have expertise to carry out the implementation, however, I would rate the overall difficulty of the employment at a medium.
The average deployment would require five skilled consultants. Some very basic deployments could be done with one or two deployment developer consultants.
We got a return on our investment in a year with Oracle E-Business Suite.
Oracle E-Business Suite is expensive. I don't know how much a license costs exactly, but I would wager it's around $1 million. This is a big implementation.
The biggest selling points for Oracle E-Business Suite are business continuity, financial support, and accounting support.
On a scale of one to ten, with one being the worst and 10 being the best, I would give Oracle E-Business Suite a nine. The only reason I would not give the solution a 10 is because you need a partner for everything you would like to do with the solution, things like implementation, maintenance, and upgrades.
Oracle E-Business Suite is used for demand and supply planning, supply chain planning, and optimizations.
Oracle E-Business Suite improves forecast accuracy, reduces costs, and increases manufacturing capacity.
Oracle E-Business Suite's stability could be improved as they have a lot of bugs that need to be fixed. Their integration and data cleaning could also be better. Oracle is focusing too much on Oracle Cloud, and E-Business Suite is missing out on new features.
I've worked with Oracle E-Business Suite for twenty-two years.
Oracle E-Business Suite is scalable.
Oracle's technical support is very good.
The initial setup was very easy.
Oracle may not be a good choice for businesses with no complexity. I would give Oracle E-Business Suite a rating of eight out of ten.
We use this product for many things from procurement to payment. We have a lot of models and it is used extensively in finance as well as HR.
I have been a user and I have also worked as a system auditor.
The most valuable feature is its flexibility. You can create a lot of modeling solutions for a single activity. Many different approaches can be used to solve the same problem, so it is not rigid. Any time we have a group discussing solutions, I am happy because if a person has a different view then it doesn't matter because it can be geared towards a common aim or goal.
There are a number of forms and tables that come with it and once you become knowledgeable, it is easy to use.
The reporting needs to be improved. I think that there are times when you have to build too many custom reports in order to achieve what you want. This comes out of the fact that it is so flexible because if you don't go by the standard, in terms of the implementation you choose, then it means that you have to come up with a lot of reports. I have seen some of the reporting that they are now doing through Hyperion, which is very nice, but I don't know if it will solve the problem.
I have found that when somebody is not experienced with Oracle, it is difficult to use.
I have been working with the Oracle E-Business Suite for close to 10 years.
In terms of stability, it is a very good system. I would rate the stability an eight out of ten.
We have sent requests to Oracle for technical support when we've had issues. They haven't been able to solve all of our problems, but most of the time, they were able to help us.
Over time, I have used several versions of this same product.
While I was not part of the initial setup, I did have the opportunity to work on another one. For me, I did not find that it was difficult. I think it's a question of one's knowledge of the system.
We had implementors come on-site to assist us with the initial setup.
I provide technical support to the HR department.
My advice for anybody who is considering this solution is not to go with Oracle if you don't have much knowledge about it. In other words, don't buy the system based on the presentation by the marketing team. It is a very good system and I attest to it, but you need to have some personal experience with it.
Have extensive discussions about your use cases, requirements, and what everything is going to look like. Also, you should have a team that understands the system before you buy it. Don't buy Oracle with the idea that you'll want assistance. Although it's a good system, you need to be cognizant of it before implementing it.
I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
We primarily use it as an ERP.
This product helped us automate our business processes 13 years ago. But nowadays it is not modern enough.
The system has been useful to us in the past. We have had a good experience with this solution for 13 years.
But now it is deprecated and not suitable enough. So, we go to Oracle Fusion Cloud. Now we are launching a new system.
This system can't be improved.
For 13 years.
This system was quite stable.
We didn't use Oracle technical support directly. We worked with an Oracle partner, a Russian company. We are happy to work with them and satisfied with the level of service they provide.
Positive
Previously we used iScala 2.2
The initial setup was not easy.
Oracle ERP is not a cheap solution.
It is not a good idea to use this old system nowadays. It is deprecated.
Choose more modern system.
This solution is used for handling a lot of modules and files, e.g. HR and supply chain. These are the main uses of Oracle E-Business Suite in the workforce.
This solution offers customization. We have the ability to change and add our custom solutions and integrate them with the standard ones.
These modules are integrated together. HR files are integrated with the supply chain files, e.g. employees are defined on the HR module. You can use this solution as a buyer or as a supplier, and it has a file server. Transferring files is integrated with HR, and the files would be applied to the employees. It can be used and it can uptake the accounts and copy them to the server, and all of the modules could be integrated together.
The most valuable feature of Oracle E-Business Suite is that it is customizable.
The biggest improvement for Oracle is for them to move to the cloud. With Oracle E-Business Suite, movement to the cloud should be supported. I am still not working on cloud applications, but I will eventually.
I've been implementing this solution for four or five years.
This solution is very stable.
Scalability is not related to our Oracle plan. We are not allowed to expand. We're only allowed to apply our custom solution. If we want to add a page or add a screen, we are allowed to do that within limits. We are not allowed to change the Oracle product itself. We can add something, but without touching any object that Oracle implements.
Sometimes, Oracle's support is very good and they give fast replies to all cases, but not all replies contain the solution. Sometimes they provide accurate solutions and effective solutions. Other times, they don't. Support could be improved.
The initial setup and deployment were done by another team in our company. We call them the DBA team (Database Administrators).
I am not working with Oracle Business Intelligence (BI). I am working as an Oracle developer, but not with Oracle development tools. I am working with tools such as Oracle Reports and Oracle Workflow Builder, but not with business intelligence tools.
I don't work for an Oracle Vendor, but I implement some products, e.g. the Oracle E-Business Suite.
We are developers and we aren't authorized to set up. For setup, there are other people concerned with setup, such as the administrators. There are three main jobs in this field. Administrators are responsible for setup, security, and configuration. Consultants are the ones who know the business, business rules, and verification among application screens or pages. Developers receive the instructions from the consultants and apply these solutions technically, and also add and make changes.
I am working as a freelancer, so I don't know all the sites the company implements this solution in, but it depends on the customization needed in each site. Some sites don't have a lot of requirements, e.g. they use the standard form of the application, meaning they don't need a lot of customization. There are sites or huge companies that have a lot of different business cases so they would need a lot of customization. It could take more than one year or two years to complete.
We are from Egypt and we fall under the Gulf area market. Most clients are from the Gulf area, but I don't know exactly how many clients. The main competition is between SAP and Oracle, but in the Gulf area, Oracle E-Business Suite is used more than SAP.
I don't know exactly how much this solution costs, but it will depend on the number of users.
My advice to people who want to implement Oracle E-Business Suite is to first be clear about the customizations they need. This is important. They should be clear and know what exactly they need to implement, and they should also know accurately the changes they want to implement for their business.
I am not able to give a rating because Oracle E-Business Suite is the first app on the market. Every application has disadvantages or points of weakness, but Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics are three of the most accurate. They are the three best products in the world, but for this solution, I'm giving a seven out of ten.
I'm working with a vendor to implement Oracle EDS for my customers.
I like Oracle ERP for streamlining the entire process from PRTL and invoice payments. It also has the decision and internet sale order, and my customers can correct the internet decision. It automatically converts to the internet order, and they don't need to create the entry object. They don't need to make a secondary ledger in the parent company and subsidiary. That's very helpful for internet decisions. If they get an order at the parent company, it automatically creates the sales system in the subsidiary.
The user interface could be better. It's not good because they made their interface all in one, and my customers don't want to use it. I have to customize the interface and personalize it to hide some fields on the screen. It has lots of information on the screen, and the user can't easily navigate it. It's very difficult to use.
I think that Oracle should have something like best practices. They need to provide some patches to simplify the interface based on the industry niche. Because now we see everything on the same screen, but the users don't need all that information. It's complicated to use for end-users, and we have to spend more time training them.
In the next release, I think they should implement most of the features in the mobile app. It should be better. Oracle didn't update their mobile application for a very long time. Connecting the mobile application is complicated.
I have been working with Oracle E-Business Suite for 19 years.
Oracle support is good.
The initial setup is complicated. For the end-user, it'll take about two or three weeks to use one of the modules.
Oracle prices are better in Vietnam and more flexible. If we need to customize something in Oracle, it's very flexible and easy to customize.
I would tell potential users that they need to understand the requirements and the time required to implement them. They can implement it separately in phases. Phase one is very simple. It's simple for finance, procurement, and inventory. After that, we can extend it step by step. They shouldn't implement several models at once as it's complicated.
Oracle consultants should take more time to learn the product, and they have to understand the Vietnamese. They also take time to learn the product becasue it's very complicated.
On a scale from one to ten, I would give Oracle E-Business Suite a seven.
Some of the features we have are purchasing the inventory, general ledger, order management, receivables, payables, and process production.
It would be nice to have more web services. For example, it would be easier to integrate our applications with EBS.
I would definitely like to see web services in purchasing. It has badly covered integration with APIs.
I have been working with Oracle E-Business Suite since 2007.
Oracle E-Business Suite is a stable product.
We have approximately 250 licenses in our organization.
We have support from our local vendors who send service requests directly to Oracle.
Service requests directly from Oracle take too much time and effort.
The price would be better if it were lower.
We are adopting other modules with local vendors. We have support from them.
I would suggest getting a local implementor.
I would rate Oracle E-Business Suite a seven out of ten.
I use this solution for Core HR, Absence Management, and payroll.
Oracle EBS is a mature product. It fills many needs.
It is a gate to doing customization, as there is a need for custom solutions.
It can easily be developed into an application.
I can also easily plug into the business cycle.
There are some cycles in HR that are not straightforward. For example, the attendance approach, and the second admin transfers are not straightforward procedures.
We can see many features in the cloud and other applications that are not supported in EBS. For example, in iRecruitment, the recruitment or selection workflow process for candidates to be recruited is very advanced, it's a very skilled and enhanced process in Taleo. This is not something that is present in EBS but there are many requirements for this. Customers require this area of recruitment. For example, in Taleo, a person cannot move from the HR interview to the technical interview unless he has passed the HR interview. This does not exist in EBS. Many customers are asking for this functionality.
In Taleo, Candidate workflow allows you to do this. They give you the feature to configure that selection workflow for the candidates in terms of steps. You cannot move from this step until you complete the first step. This is definitely an area to consider.
There is strength in the product but we are always looking for weakness to improve.
The reporting area is very weak. It needs some improvements.
The embedded analytics is something new but it's a bit complicated. They tried to embed the analytics into the EBS with the same model as in FUSION but it's not easy or straightforward to enhance and maintain.
Organizational restructuring is a horrible process and very difficult in EBS.
I am currently an HCCM Team lead. I have 12 years of experience in implementing Oracle.
I also have been working with Oracle E-Business Suite for 12 years.
I am certified in Oracle HCCM Cloud applications.
I work with many versions. I have worked with versions 11, 12, and now 12.2.9.
Generally speaking, Oracle E-Business Suite is a stable product.
Any product can have bugs, but it depends on where the bug is and if you have a workaround or not.
One of the drawbacks with Oracle is that it seems to take them a long time to release a solution for the bugs or enhancements. For example, there is a bug found in 2011 that has not been resolved or closed until now.
There are, however, technology bugs or functional bugs that are enhancements that you find in certain services such as contract screens, contracts, or payments. Oracle will call this an enhancement request, we can deliver it but for now, there is no delivery for this solution.
This is a scalable solution.
I am just learning Taleo, I have a small amount of experience and a few customers.
The initial setup is straightforward. While you can complete the installation yourself, you will need to know the product and how the product is configured.
An understanding of the business process is required to easily configure the application.
You must have the knowledge to know the subsequent actions, how they are done, and how the links are set up together. For example, I can define lookup, and to do this I will research to know if it will use the standard form, or if it will use the value set or the standard use for one report or other types of validations.
Overall, I believe that it is always best to ask someone who is experienced. For example, if we consider the iPhone mobile, we may ask how can we take a picture, If you are coming from Android to iOS, you will ask someone with experience in this type of operating system, how you can do related things or supporting context.
I completed the installation myself. I did not use the help of an integrator or consultant.
I have a lot of experience, and I work with many customers. I know what they require and which features they are looking for.
I would like to see where Oracle E-Business Suite will take the roadmap. I don't know if they will invest more in the roadmap for EBS or investing in the cloud.
In summary, this is a good product but there is always an area for improvement.
I would rate Oracle E-Business Suite a seven out of ten.
