It is easy to use for someone only if they are trained and have the skills to use it. For those having no experience with the solution, it's almost impossible for them to use it. There is a need and requirement for some training to be provided to those planning to use the solution. Presently, the solution's interface is not intuitive.

I have been working with SAP ERP for ten years. I am currently working on SAP ERP EHP 7. I am a customer of the solution.

It is a stable solution.

Around 200 people in my company work with the solution.

The solution's technical support is fine. They do help users to sort out the issues related to the solution. I rate the technical support an eight out of ten.

The last time we faced an issue using the solution, it took the technical support team a while to resolve it, but I think it is because it was not on a production system but on a test system to which they give low priority. However, I felt the technical support team should have provided me with the appropriate assistance even though the product was used in a test environment. Also, I always try to avoid seeking help from the technical support team as I prefer looking for documentation, or I seek support from my peers.

Previously, I worked with a product from Microsoft. I wouldn't say that Microsoft's product was better than SAP ERP. However, I would say that Microsoft's product had more capacity, processes, and functionalities than SAP ERP, which was meant to support small businesses. But, SAP ERP has much more specialized features suitable for bigger industries.

The solution's deployment process was easy for me since I have experience in deploying it. However, it may not be straightforward for someone else. Since it is not a PnP device and there are so many moving parts, there is a high chance of the person involved in its deployment process making a mistake. But, over time, one gets to know and learn what to do when something happens. Even though issues are there in the solution, I am able to use it after fixing it.

I was not a part of one of the latest instances involving the implementation process of the solution, but I have carried out the implementation process in many other places. So based on my experience, the implementation process takes about six months.

Our company has experienced a return on investment using the solution. Some people in my company look into the areas related to the solution.

The pricing is based on the license per user, which I think makes the solution a bit costly, especially for Africa and Kenya. The price for the solution is the same for everybody, so they are able to generate the same revenue from companies in Europe. Basically, the prices of the solution are high, and we don't have that much revenue. We have to choose a mix of licenses for SAP ERP, so we can't choose just one type of license. Even though the mix of licenses has both expensive and cheap ones, one has to buy the expensive ones since there is a minimum ratio to be considered while purchasing their licenses. Additionally, our company had to pay 22% of the amount for the solution's licenses for maintenance and support.

We decided to move to SAP S/4HANA from SAP ERP since we wanted an upgrade, and it had to be done someday. Also, we felt that SAP ERP will get discontinued at some point.

Since it is a superior product in terms of its functionalities to my company, I rate the overall solution a nine out of ten.

I mostly work with SAP implementation projects as a project manager.

Implementation of a new ERP system usually does not give you immediate measurable benefits, but it helps you to evaluate how the company functions and improve internal business processes, this is where most benefits can be seen. Plus long-term effects in data quality and transparency, better-balanced decision making, higher satisfaction and motivation of employees, and internal and external image of the company. 

The most valuable features depend on the company's needs and area of expertise. For example, PP is quite an important module for industrial companies, but FI-CO is the most useful module for any company.

SAP is more reliable in terms of data quality than other systems, but it still has room for improvement. If it is planned well, it can really help users avoid mistakes. However, sometimes the cost is not reasonable, usually, it is the case of smaller companies.

I have been using it for many years, since 2014. We are currently using S/4HANA, which we use on-premises, but we plan to move to the cloud soon.

Stability is quite high. I would give it an eight out of ten. Sometimes the connection depends on the infrastructure and other things that are not exactly SAP's responsibility if we talk about on-premise solutions. Possible issues with stability could be partially resolved when moving to the cloud based solutions.

In terms of scalability, SAP offers quite a high grade for organizational change possibilities. It's manageable to plan organizational changes, and there is a lot of information available and SAP consultants on the market who can help with this.

In general, every SAP project is quite unique. It depends on how well we understand the requirements and what is expected from this implementation. The success of the whole implementation is actually meeting these expectations or maybe lowering expectations somewhere. I have participated in several end-to-end implementations, but the time varied for each deployment process and the processes differ in each company.

The pricing depends on the implementation functions. I work with implementations, and the cost varies depending on whether it's an internal or external team and the contractual basis or employees involved. Typically, it could start from 100,000 EUR and go up to 1 mio EUR and be much higher if we include more SAP solutions, locations, and cycles. The cost would vary greatly based on the specific requirements.

In comparison to others on the market, I would rate SAP ERP a nine out of ten. There is still room for improvement, as nothing is ideal. But it's one of the strongest on the market I have worked with.

It's good to learn from the best in this industry. And keep learning new things because sometimes you could be not aware that there are new solutions available to help you with your everyday tasks. And being in the area of professionals helps a lot.

We are using SAP ERP in the public sector for manufacturing and R & D.

The solution can be deployed on-premise and in the cloud.

The most valuable feature of SAP ERP is the financial module, pre-configured packages, and plenty of features. The solution is updating and adding new features that are helpful.

I have been using SAP ERP for approximately seven years.

There can be some stability issues.

SAP ERP is scalable. You are able to add administrative modules to increase the features. There are many other modules that can be added, such as the Linux framework and the business technology platform.

For an on-premise deployment, there needs to be administration monitoring of all services. This is because there can be a lot of resources being used that have to be monitored on the server. We have found some instances of overloading in the reports.

The cloud deployment is managed by the cloud provider and it is highly scalable.

I have approximately 10 clients using this solution.

When there is a system error it provides an error code and a lot of times these can be complicated. The support team could have more knowledge to be able to assist with these situations more promptly.

The setup of SAP ERP can be simple because there are pre-configured setups. This allows for similar implementation for clients. Cloud deployment can be easier. The on-premise takes more time to build the servers and systems.

We followed the active SAP methodology for the implementation of the solution. We then gather all the details needed for the business to complete the implementation, such as realization, customer training, and integration. We then support the customer for a few months after we deploy it.

A typical project can take seven to eight months to finish implementation.

There is a one-time license that is needed to use the solution. The support is what is needed to be renewed annually.

The initial setup of SAP ERP is complex. However, if you have a good team it can be easier.

The deployment time can depend on the size of the company.

The price of SAP ERP is high, but it is worth the money. The maintenance and support can be expensive. There should be a different price model for businesses that are not as large to be able to afford it.

If the price of the solution was less it would be able to reach more of my customer.

Within the organization, I use SAP ERP on a daily basis.

The most significant elements of this solution are the ability to create a virtual product, a service product, and delivery.

Data analytics can be improved.

The problem with SAP is that whenever there is a modification, or if a new field needs to be added, they charge tens of thousands, hundreds, or even two hundred thousand dollars. That is not anything in which I am really interested. 

For instance, consider a single-use case. I have to enter the root causes for a certain operation or failure. That option does not exist anywhere in SAP, not in manufacturing, not in logistics, not in anything. It is completely missing.

The root cause analysis is very common across industries, yet SAP does not offer this option.

A line field or a metaparticle, for example, was delayed. If you have the choice to input the warehouse operator or if the person who submitted the document has the opportunity to enter, this has been postponed for N, X, Y, or Z reasons.

That would have been ideal, but sadly, that option is not available in SAP. I checked other modules, but that option does not exist anywhere.

I have been working with SAP ERP, for eight years.

It is a very stable product. I would rate the stability of SAP ERP a nine out of ten.

In terms of scalability, everything is very modular. It would be great if you could combine everything.

Technical support could be improved. It comes with an additional cost.

It was set up for me. I didn't have to do anything.

I am not sure. However, extensions cost approximately $100,000 or$200,000.

SAP ERP is a great product, but its flexibility is limited.

It's a great product, but it has been driven from the top. It has been driven from the top. It is not a customer-based solution. We are offered something as it is and we are expected to use it as it is.

We primarily use the solution for logistics, finance, asset management, and accounting.

I've used the solution since 2006.

The stability is great. I'd rate it nine out of ten. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It is reliable. 

It offers good scalability. I'd rate the ability to expand eight out of ten. You can grow out f you need to. 

We do not have plans to change solutions. While we're planning to switch to the new version of SAP S/4, we will stay with our ERP.

Technical support has been good. They are always available to us if we need them. We are satisfied with the level of support we get. 

We did not previously use a different solution before jumping into this product. This was our first ERP. 

I wasn't involved in the first deployment as it was in 2006. However, I was involved in the migration from the old version to the current version. That process was quite complex since we use a lot of specifics in our version. That made it difficult. We had to bring all the specific programs to the new version and also test all the specifics.

There is another technical team that is responsible for the licenses and the number of users. I don't directly handle pricing.

We're a customer and end-user. 

I really recommend it to new clients as we have all the modules in one system, and it's scalable and easy to use.

Personally, I'm very satisfied with it. From the technical side to the functional side, we are satisfied. I would rate it nine out of ten.

I use SAP in the finance department for two manufacturing subsidiaries of my company. 

SAP ERP provides the perfect database and options for additional production. It's also good for finance analytics, production drill-down, and other types of analysis.

The reporting could be improved, such as the casework, production, and activity reports. Our consultants in a subsidiary enterprise have requested that we develop a new production report. They could also improve production, financial, and HR analysis.

It might be difficult for people who are new to the platform. I rate it seven out of 10 for ease of setup.

SAP ERP is worth the money.

It was expensive. I rate SAP ERP about three out of 10 for affordability. This software is designed to meet the individual needs of each company.

I rate SAP ERP eight out of 10. SAP ERP is a good system for optimizing processes for various employees and it offers information for company decision-making. It provides databases and other tools for HR, production, and financial analysis. 

My advice to new users is to forget everything they know about other software and ERP systems because SAP is specific and customized for different types of activities. 

The payroll solution and the localization for advances are valuable.

There is room for improvement, especially since we are dealing with two systems, on-premises and on cloud, and so many connections could be interrupted. Sometimes the checking criteria on Success Factors are different than the criteria on S4Hana, so we enter master data, and the Success Factor accepts it. However, additional controls are done on S4Hana, so not all the data goes smoothly. Sometimes we have so many errors and must monitor them, which takes time.

It is not easily integrated with outside products because we purchased the finance, timesheet and project management modules on-premises and the HR module on cloud. Our integration issues may be specific to our company, and others may not have similar issues.

We have been using this solution for one year. We have Success Factors. I'm not sure of the version number, but we recently updated it. We have part of it on cloud and part of it on-premises.

We contact technical support when we have issues. I have only used them a few times, but my colleagues have said it takes some time to get a response from them.

The initial setup wasn't that complex. We went live for about eight branches, and it was complex in terms of size only. Everyone uses this solution because it is used for timesheets.

I have no details about the pricing.

We are using SAP ERP at a manufacturing company for a production system, material management requirements, and materials planning.

The most valuable features of SAP ERP are the integration between all departments, such as purchasing, finance, trading, and sales.

I have been using SAP ERP for approximately 14 years.

SAP ERP is a very stable system. It's made in Germany so it's a very stable system and received updates all the time.

We have hundreds of users that are using SAP ERP.

The technical support from SAP ERP is very good.

I used technical support a few times over two years because of the cable system. We are only using them in emergencies or urgent matters.

We used approximately seven people for the deployment of the solution. There are plenty of modules and for each module of the solution, such as material management, we have an expert that helps us. 

There is a license needed to use this solution.

I recommend this solution to any company.

I rate SAP ERP a ten out of ten.

We use this solution to review processes the parent company implements in China. Extra configurations on the system are included based on optimization proposals, and we can optimize the functions to the requirements. In addition, I work as a certified MM consultant and have access to minimal usability functions.

A valuable feature is the application of customer feedback to improve the system by the retailer. Millions of dollars have been saved doing this. Improvements relating to costing structures can be made, and the system usability from on-premise to cloud and the terabytes and gigabytes required in the system have dramatically reduced. An example is working in the MM area with the system. Only a simple vendor had master data and many tables. From 40, the SAP on the cloud or the HANA version has reduced it to two tables. So it's a significant decrease still growing. By applying customer feedback, they have improved as retailers of their products.

We have never had a bad experience with this solution, except for how the system is over-customized. When customizing, it bypasses the standard protocols, and SAP is not a very dynamic system. It's static, and rules drive it. So when the system does not allow the creation of custom codes to bypass protocols, it becomes slightly offsetting because the system no longer functions as an SAP system. This information is based on the current features provided at our company.

Additionally, we would love more integration with the functions we need. For example, the core SAP is minimal. It runs basic things, but we would like the inclusion of contract management and warehouse management in the deployed standard releases and not as add-ons. The add-ons are costly, and companies don't want to purchase them. However, if the add-ons were free, it would be great.

We have been using this solution for about 28 years. We use the ECCC enhancement package seven.

The solution is stable. For example, you'll have issues if you don't do your patches regularly in other software. However, for this solution, the production environment is very stable.

The solution is scalable. We can add users to the system without issues, but getting them loaded on the system requires approval. When you load a user on SAP and understand what the user is supposed to do, it takes you about five minutes to load the user. Currently, we have about 638 users on the system, and about 60% are active users. Currently, we have about 638 users in different roles on the system.

I rate my experience with customer service and support as excellent. The one time we reached out to them for issues, they were efficient in their responses and response time.

The implementation is very straightforward when implemented directly with the right team. However, if you are migrating from another system, the implementation is more difficult because you have many compatibilities, and the deployment timeline varies. For example, in one of the companies I previously worked at, we started in 2004 and ended in 2008, but other issues elongated the process. As a result, we did the complete handover in 2008. At another company, we began in 2014 and ended in 2016. However, they were already using the system, but it wasn't fully deployed until 2016, as the modules were completed based on business requirements.

From my perspective, when you deploy it, the SAP instantly comes with several users and a pre-given user license. Each additional user added charges differently, and additional license fees are applied. Regarding HANA, there is a split in finance core asset management, inventory management, and supply chain, and they have buckets with the ERP on the previous version. There can also be add-ons. However, the standard things required by the business must be structured together and not charged as stand-alone as they are now with the HANA cloud versions.

Currently, the estimate for the license per user is between 20,000 to 40,000 USD. Although I am unsure of the exact number it costs in that range, every time I request a new user, I have to justify the need to my company because they claim it falls in that range per user license.

We chose this solution because of its stability, and the system offered everything we wanted. In my company, I primarily research IFS, and this solution was the first time I heard of IFS and SAP because they met all our work requirements. Since we work in mines, we use different systems like geology, metal and accounting, and they need to integrate with SAP, and SAP is very flexible for that.

I rate this solution a ten out of ten. I'll advise individuals who want to use this solution for the first time to ensure they get the right team to implement it. It might be expensive, but I'll advise them to use the SAP team because SAP regularly deploys the best staff. The experience throughout the project is super. Most times, end users get disappointed in system performance or the scalability of the system function because of the implementers. Once you have a good team and project manager, you can meet timelines and deliverables and have a smooth implementation process. It takes under six months to implement SAP fully with the right team. This solution is good but can improve by including more integration functions in the next release.
