Our primary use case of this solution for our client was for PDF automation which we used to extract data from the PDF, details such as invoice number and invoice structure. We extract all the data and it gets posted to the website. They post all the details inside a tool they use. Before implementation of UiPath this was a manual process which required 50 people all doing the same work 24/7. Once we implemented RPA, it reduced the time factor by around 80%. I'm a consultant and we are partners of UiPath.

Very simple to implement and use; we can easily write code
Pros and Cons
- "Simple solution that allows us to write code."
- "Cost of the solution is high."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
UiPath is a top product. We can write code with it and also write a Visual Basic .NET. There are active people in the forum and that's great. We can do everything we want in similar solutions such as Power Automate and Automate Anywhere, but in UiPath it's a lot simpler. It can be a struggle with the other solutions whereas UiPath has already answered all the issues and we can get problems resolved using the forum.
What needs improvement?
Documentation could be improved and the cost of the product is high, even if you're a middle scale industry. You might reject the solution on the grounds of cost. Power Automate Desktop is much cheaper than UiPath and Automation Anywhere is also cheaper.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using this solution for over two years.

How are customer service and support?
Technical support is very good when it compares to the other RPA tools. So in SAP automation, we had faced some issue and it got resolved. Within an hour we can get a response from the UiPath support team.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've used other solutions but prefer UiPath. The cost is a barrier.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is very easy. We can download from Orchestrator. Solutions such as Elasticsearch takes more time because people don't know how to implement as well. GitHub also integrates with UiPath so if the client agrees to upload it in GitHub, it's very easy.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Straightforward to set up, good support, and is very handy for beginning with RPA
Pros and Cons
- "What I like about this solution is the way it identifies the process and the transformation from data to some analysis between appliances."
- "Not everyone in the business can readily provide the kind of information that is to be put into process mining, which is an area that needs to be worked on."
What is our primary use case?
We are IT, service providers. We help our customers use this solution.
When you have a huge inventory of business processes, and you need to understand where to begin your automation journey.
That is where process mining becomes a very handy, tool.
With the help of the CPG logs, we can data mine the database logs, which processes consume more time, which is more critical, and which is more business.
What is most valuable?
What I like about this solution is the way it identifies the process and the transformation from data to some analysis between appliances.
What needs improvement?
Process mining doesn't need an improvement as such. However, to get the data from the business process, the backend data, and the log data, from the business and feeding that to process mining is a challenge.
Not everyone in the business can readily provide the kind of information that is to be put into process mining, which is an area that needs to be worked on.
At the moment, process mining is a new product, so the pitfalls or the cons of this tool are yet to be realized. It's too early to say.
What I would expect is a little bit of an AI component included in process mining. That would help the developers or the business analyst get more insights into the other possible options.
The element of features that can be included. At the moment it is data-driven. There should be some improvement in terms of its intelligence to artificial means. That is what I'm looking for from them.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using UiPath for six months.
I am using the latest version.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
This is a stable solution.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Process Mining is scalable, providing that it is applied to process mining as an input.
We plan to continue providing this solution to our clients.
How are customer service and technical support?
Support from UiPath is easy. We have not had any challenge in terms of getting their assistance.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was straightforward. It was very quick.
What about the implementation team?
The installation was done by someone on our IT team.
What other advice do I have?
Definitely, I would recommend it. This is a very good tool. The inputs to this process mining are also very good.
I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

A good technology that is revolutionizing our financial processes
Pros and Cons
- "This technology as a whole is really revolutionizing our finances."
- "Process Mining still has to mature somewhat."
What is our primary use case?
We primarily use UiPath for the automation of our financial systems. The use cases include invoicing, billing, and other financial processes.
What is most valuable?
This technology as a whole is really revolutionizing our finances.
What needs improvement?
Process Mining still has to mature somewhat.
There is a bit of a concern about being able to use this on a mobile device.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using UiPath Process Mining for approximately the past three months.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
This product is 100% enterprise-scalable.
We have between 15 and 20 users, but it is being used by the entire financial division, which affects up to 150 staff.
How was the initial setup?
This is a cloud-based deployment so it was very easy to set up with no installation. I find that to be very important, these days.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We began our evaluation with Blue Prism. We used it only on a very small scale for the purpose of evaluating it. We felt that it was too old, as it was one of the first products on the market, and we wanted something more modern.
After that, we discovered Automation Anywhere, which was much better, and then we decided to also look at UiPath. AA has a very good local partner for support. The company is quick to respond, and the issues have been dealt with very quickly.
UiPath and Automation Anywhere are very similar, but ultimately, we decided to go with Automation Anywhere.
What other advice do I have?
UiPath Process Mining is very good, and absolutely a product that I can recommend. That said, it still has to mature somewhat.
I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Provides good visualizations for analysis, but it is expensive
Pros and Cons
- "The visualization part, showing the number of cases processed successfully after a process is executed, is the most valuable. It also showed how effective a bot is after production. This kind of analysis that we got from UiPath Process Mining was good."
- "Its price can be improved. They can also have a better plan for training the end users to be able to use this solution."
What is our primary use case?
I haven't used it practically for any live project. I used it to see how exactly it works and how will it help if my organization decides to use it for live projects.
They had provided free training last year. It was the trial version. They provided a link, and we had to go through the link to do process mining. We were working with cloud deployment. We had two to three users.
What is most valuable?
The visualization part, showing the number of cases processed successfully after a process is executed, is the most valuable. It also showed how effective a bot is after production. This kind of analysis that we got from UiPath Process Mining was good.
What needs improvement?
Its price can be improved. They can also have a better plan for training the end users to be able to use this solution.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used this solution for two to four weeks.
How are customer service and technical support?
I didn't contact them.
How was the initial setup?
I was not involved in the installation process.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It is very expensive.
What other advice do I have?
I would definitely recommend this product. I would rate UiPath Process Mining a six out of ten because I haven't used it much.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Private Cloud

Capture process helps to understand how your process steps work and what you can do to improve them but stability needs improvement
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable feature is the capture process. That is really good because it helps you to understand how your process steps work and what you can do to improve them. It helps to make it more visibility and tangibility into what you are doing in terms of the processes."
- "It is stable, but not the top of the curve. It can be improved, let's put it that way."
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is the capture process. That is really good because it helps you to understand how your process steps work and what you can do to improve them. It helps to make it more visibility and tangibility into what you are doing in terms of the processes.
There is room for improvement. It is a helpful tool, I don't want to imply that it's useless. It helps to figure out if there are any steps that can be removed. It also helps to simplify the process and with the standardization of tasks because if you ask two people who are basically doing the same thing, to capture those steps you'll figure out that there is a lot of redundancy improvements in terms of aligning the way of working and maybe reducing some steps or removing them completely.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using UiPath Process Mining for three months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is stable, but not the top of the curve. It can be improved, let's put it that way.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
In terms of scalability, it's medium to high. In my company, there are around 10 to 15 users. No more than that. I think it's a good number of people because usually these kinds of processes are not used by everybody. It's for process experts who are trying to understand and to eliminate waste within your process.
How are customer service and technical support?
The technical support is good although it can be further enhanced. By that I mean that it should have a faster response. When you have an incident or a ticket we expect a quicker response.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We also looked at Celonis. It does pretty much the same thing. The advantage of Celonis is that you can see that the log has a bunch of low activity in one Excel file and then the tool can process that information and provide you with some insight.
This is an aspect that we are interested in. Of course, it is not suitable for all processes because it is highly dependent on the technology that you need to have the log available in. But if you have the log available then it is quite helpful to have a tool to analyze that.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was easy because it is a cloud version, so it's not so complicated. I'm not sure about the on-premise. Maybe the one on-premise would be more difficult to install but I don't have experience with that.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Considering that the solution is not fully stabilized and is not a mature product, the pricing can be further reduced. I expect it to be a little bit lower, especially during this time because it is in a maturity curve so they are ramping up the product. I expect it to be a little lower than what it is.
What other advice do I have?
UiPath is a solid company. It's almost the best on the market today. Process mining is something that will help the RPA process because, in the end, those tools, like process mining/ process simplification and standardization are hand in the hand of RPA. Process mining will reach a certain level in the future. I think it is a company to look at and to invest in this technology. Grow with the company because it's a solid one.
I would rate it a seven out of ten.
In the next release, I would like for there to be a way to automatically do mining activity instead of recording yourself on the screen. Similar to other products on the market.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Covers many features and platforms that are valuable
Pros and Cons
- "We have deployed it for many processes, mainly for human resources, IT, marketing and also for sales. A new aspect is for procurement."
- "In terms of what can be improved, what I've seen so far in most of the implementations is that the client's expectations towards the RPA solution and their road map for the solution are different. The road map should be very clear in terms of what should be done and why it has to be done."
What is our primary use case?
We don't actually use it in our company, we deploy ProcessGold in our clients' premises and provide the services for this solution. We have deployed it for many processes, mainly for human resources, IT, marketing and also for sales. A new aspect is for procurement.
What is most valuable?
The features I have found most valuable include the procurement because that is valuable to the clients. The RPA covers so many features and platforms and offers the same features.
We have deployed all the features, for all the verticals that I have mentioned here. UiPath featured them recently, they were valuable to the customer.
What needs improvement?
In terms of what can be improved, what I've seen so far in most of the implementations is that the client's expectations towards the RPA solution and their road map for the solution are different. The road map should be very clear in terms of what should be done and why it has to be done.
As for features that should be included in the next release, I would say that the UiPath should follow a flow X where a person who has a business process understanding and has an understanding of UiPath would be able to automate their own processes.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using ProcessGold for approximately three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
With what I've seen so far in my three years of experience, I see that it is stable. If there are not a lot of changes in the process before it is automated, then it is always stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
ProcessGold is certainly scalable.
In terms of how many people are using this solution, if you add the positions around the RPA, basically every process will have their own business people working on that particular process. So, typically, we have deployed more than 30 plus processes until now and more than 60 to 70 people are working on that particular process.
How are customer service and technical support?
I am in touch with technical support when we are working for our client with automations. I know which product features we need to talk to the UiPath guy about.
I am 100% satisfied with the UiPath technical support.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward. For the whole UiPath implementation, it typically takes four to five days to set up the whole thing and make it run.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I am the practice head for the RPA. So my team has hands on experience on other tools, as well. This includes Automation Anywhere and NeoDesk, and their latest software.
The main differences between UiPath and Automation Anywhere are that typically, the features which are offered by the RPA vendors seems to be the same, except on the user interface level, the IDE. UiPath provides a kind of a work proposed structure. But with Automation Anywhere there's a different kind of flow. The flexibility of development is better with UiPath. Otherwise I don't see any difference at all - all the features are supported by every vendor.
What other advice do I have?
The processes which are identified as the RPA candidates have to be thoroughly assessed. Unless and until the process is not qualified as a candidate, we should not take any chances by automating it. I would say that the process identification is a key part and the business owners who own that particular process should come up with an assessment.
On a scale of one to ten - I would rate this product a ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

User-friendly interface, good training available, and bots can be controlled from online
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable feature is that activities are available to us just by clicking the box, so it doesn't require much time to make changes for future requirements."
- "I would like to see better integration with the Azure and AWS machine learning platforms."
What is our primary use case?
The primary use for this solution is for automating business processes.
These include data entry tasks that were being done by the bots. There was manual work for applications like Salesforce that was being done using integration activities provided by UiPath. One of our use cases involved doing sentiment analysis on tweets for a couple of brands.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is that activities are available to us just by clicking the box, so it doesn't require much time to make changes for future requirements.
The interface is very user-friendly.
The online platform for controlling the bots is very helpful.
What needs improvement?
We do not have much confidence in the intelligence or cognitive capabilities and they should be improved. Automation Anywhere is really good in that area, so I'm looking forward to more advanced features in the future.
I would like to see better integration with the Azure and AWS machine learning platforms.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using ProcessGold for about a year and a half.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
In general, it is a stable solution. In one of our use cases, when the volume of data was quite high, we found that there were some crashes. We divided the load into smaller sets so that the whole thing is completed in two or three stages, which fixed the problem.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I have not found any challenges in terms of scalability, other than an issue where we needed to divide the workload into smaller jobs. I would say that for certain activities that involve a very large number of documents, scalability is not up to mark, but in general, it is okay.
We have between 20 and 30 users and they are quite satisfied.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is pretty straightforward. We started with the Community Edition, which was really helpful.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Easy to use and has good support
Pros and Cons
- "Its most valuable features are that it is easy to use and to find people who actually do the UiPath."
- "Instead of doing only UiPath bots, it should handle other bots as well. Then I can deploy automation anywhere on any other software. It should not be only UiPath. That's the future of it."
What is our primary use case?
So far our primary use has been for process flow. How do you automate? In most of the cases, it was multi-source data collection systems from multiple sources and getting all the information to one point. There is an email or a message. Then how do you get the data from different sources and put them into one language? So far most of the use cases were just that.
What is most valuable?
Its most valuable features are that it is easy to use and to find people who actually use the UiPath.
What needs improvement?
The main thing that can be improved is the price, nobody wants to pay that much money for a scheduler.
Another feature they can add is, instead of doing only UiPath bots, it should handle other bots as well. Then I can deploy automation anywhere on any other software. It should not be only UiPath. That's the future of it.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using ProcessGold for a year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is scalable. I think there are three people from my team using the solution now.
How are customer service and technical support?
Overall the technical support is good. I'm satisfied with it.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward. You just need to have UiPath and it's straightforward. Deployment time depends on the problem you're trying to solve. In our case, it took three to four days.
The client has the software and the licenses, and we are the guys who program it for them. The maintenance is up to the client. We just file up and give it to them, that's it. All the guys are on-site during development and deployment.
Our clients are enterprise sized companies.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Since it's a former client, they are generally UiPath resellers. They already have that connection with UiPath so they get a cheaper expert. But if we are looking for other deployments, they become really expensive because the ROI is difficult to attain for small scale businesses.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend ProcessGold, but I think the price has to come down. It's too high.
On a scale of one to ten, I would give ProcessGold an eight.
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.

More detail about Process Mining....
Every enterprise system—like SAP, Salesforce or Oracle—captures event data related to your processes. Process mining reads this data and transforms it into an event log. This event log contains three key pieces of information vital for process mining: a time stamp, a case ID, and an activity.
Using the event log, process mining automatically creates a process graph that lets you understand every detail of your process—including the timing of each step and all the variations in process flows. That’s exactly the level and type of detail you need.
The visualization capabilities built into advanced process mining tools help you zero in on what should be optimized, how to do it, and what the return on your efforts will be. You can easily build and prioritize your automation pipeline or process optimization efforts. You’ll be able to immediately understand the impacts of proposed process changes or automations—including costs saved and effort required.
