We are using Veeam ONE to monitor our environment.

The solution is simple to use.

The solution could improve by allowing the ability to do monitoring and traffic aggregation in the whole virtual network environment.

I have been using this solution for approximately eight years.

The solution is stable.

The solution is highly scalable in the virtual environment.

The support team Veeam can be available 24 hours a day seven days a week depending on your license agreement. However, in Veeam ONE the support query availability is not as good as other solutions they offer.

Veeam ONE is straightforward to implement.

If you have Veeam Backup and Replication with the essential license then this solution is free. If you were to purchase Veeam ONE by itself it is priced cheaper than competitors.

I rate Veeam ONE a nine out of ten.

We are familiar with all the versions. As resellers we can sell any version of the solution. 

Our use cases involve  Veeam or Hyper V infrastructure. They concern physical servers, Office 365, complete solution specs, a mold self, the Como workloads and Oracle SAP.

One of the most valuable features is the simplicity of the solution's administration. I like its rental capabilities, as well as the backup data, replication abilities, in respect of the current Veeam or the backup servers to the Cloud provider. Disaster recovery is also simple and very easy to manage. 

While the Veeam Backup Replication tool can mostly back up all the data in the environment, the AIX from IBM backup capabilities nowadays could stand improvement as they are not featured on a single pane of glass. A consultation is required for its administration. As such, the integration of AIX would be welcome. 

While Veeam Backup & Replication is a complete solution, it would be nice to have the Veeam server on Linux. The availability of the Server Manager only on Windows installation should be addressed.  

I have been using Veeam Backup & Replication for around two or three years.

The solution is stable and allows for ease of use. 

The solution is very scalable. Once the license is attended to, there is not much need to concern oneself with new implementations or changes to the installation process. As such the solution is scalable, stable and very friendly to use.

I rate the technical support as a ten out of ten. Veeam boasts a wide documentation forum in which most issues can be resolved. When there is a need to engage their support services, we have found them to be straightforward and very quick to resolve the issue. 

Taking into account the setups and boss configurations, the deployment takes from two to three days and is very simple to do. With the right partner it can be accomplished pretty quickly and simply. 

Deployment and maintenance involves two or three people. It is quite easy. 

We evaluated ARC server and Capizec. We are a reseller and implementation company, so we handle both of these aspects as concerns the software of many different back up tools, but Veeam lags far behind the competition. The others use WAN and are our first choice. 

In comparison with Veeam Backup & Replication, the license form and attendant specs of the competitors make things quite easy. 

I truly like the solution. It is easy, fast and reliable when it comes to growth. 

While our parent company has the solution on-premises, we also sell it as a service, as we are Veeam partners. 

We have a variety of client types and sizes. 

I am using the solution in a virtual environment for backup and replication.

I have found the most valuable feature to be the new CDP features. It is very popular for my customer's needs. 

Additionally, the solution is user-friendly.

There is some complexity we have experienced when using the solution that should be simplified.

I have been using this solution for approximately three years.

The solution is stable.

We have used the technical support and they are very good. We receive a resolution at a high priority.

The installation was easy.

The price of Veeam Backup and Replication is expensive.

I rate Veeam Backup & Replication a nine out of ten.

Running the virtual machine from within the backup gives us the chance to test the machine before restoring it.

In the past, we were using another backup product. We used it to restore the machine multiple times, until we reached the required version of the machines. This process takes a very long time to finish.

I am looking for the ability to:

• Backup physical machines
• Backup exchange mailboxes and retrieve a message in a mailbox
• Backup SQL servers and retrieve a record in a table
• Backup the Active Directory and retrieve a single object

I have used Veeam for four years.

We have not encountered any issues with stability.

I have not had any issues with scalability.

The support staff team is perfect. I hope they keep that level of perfection.

The features in Veeam are much better than in the other products.

The setup was straightforward and the pre-sales engineer helped us a lot to set up the product according to best practices.

According to the features, I believe it has a reasonable price.

I am already telling others that I use this solution when I meet them in conferences and meetings.

Veeam improved our backup infrastructure to help save backup space. With the integrated WAN acceleration, the data transfer of our backup files to cloud storage sped up.

Instant VM Recovery provides very fast recovery of our critical VMs.

I think it would be great to have the ability to use WAN acceleration as an integrated feature for local backup storage to save a lot more space.

I have used this solution for about five years.

I have not yet encountered any deployment or stability or scalability issues. If the backup doesn’t work, the issue is not with Veeam but rather with the VM.

Customer service works very well.

Technical support also works very well.

I implemented it by myself. My advice for implementation is to install Veeam on a dedicated backup server. It is important to plan a backup strategy like 3-2-1: 3 copies on 2 different medias and 1 offsite.

It is important to count all the sockets of vm-hosts to get the right license.

We also use Altaro Backup for some small customers. Altaro also works great for its price.

Try it and love it.

Application data recovery works great in our environment especially restoring MS Exchange mailbox items. There are cases where emails or attachments which can back date to more than 12 months old are needed by users.

Backup and recovery windows have been significantly improved. By using an adequate number of backup proxies, more jobs can be executed simultaneously. Image replication for DRP and Sure backup to verify data consistency have also met our audit criteria for data protection objectives.

We expect to see more integrations from the software company with storage vendors. Especially on dedupe appliances and non unified storage arrays. This will help us to cut down the storage investment cost and have more flexibility on hardware choices. Also, there are demands to protect data on end user computers and devices. Hope to see more update in this area in near future.

I've been using it for five years.

We have had no issues with the deployment.

We have experienced slow backup performance, however it was been rectified in the latest release, and they have added a feature for processing parallel jobs.

With limited storage space available, we have to use reverse incremental backup to keep only one set of full backup on the latest date. This helps us to manage the free space and make sure fast recovery always available.

The tech support is always there to help out but you need to take note of the time difference. They don't seems to have dedicated resource to cover the APAC time zone from what I have experienced.

Setup is straightforward, so just follow the wizard, but make sure you've got a plan for your storage sizing and backup retention policy. The challenging part will always be the sizing and how you place your backup proxy to make sure backup performance is top.

We performed an in-house setup. You need to make sure there is a proper planning especially if snapshot backup is needed on storage array. This feature makes sure that no VM snapshot committed to a virtual server can cause a ping drop, and this is crucial on sensitive servers. The requirement to make it happen is likely to have the Veeam server running on a physical box with direct connectivity to storage array.

Worth the money especially if you have high consolidation ratio per physical host.

I have tried a few other products, some of them are meant for multi-platform (virtual and physical), or as a native backup solution. We ended up with Veeam as we are a fully virtualized environment and the features and product capabilities have met our requirements.

It suits all the needs for a fully virtualized environment, just make sure you have proper planning on the storage sizing.

• Capacity to start a VM directly from the backup repository (Instant VM Recovery)
• The explorer for restoring items (Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, MS-SQL and Oracle (soon)).

I am a specialist in Veeam, and my clients optimized their recovery procedure, and it now requires less time to restore services. They love how easy it is to operate.

No, but is important to read all the requirements for the explorer to avoid problems before finishing the implementation.

No, in fact the stability is great. No halts are present, even when it has low memory.

Great service. I only use the web support and it is accurate.

We previously used HP Data Protector. It was very complex to work with, and susceptible to fails, so we switched.

It is very easy to configure, and start up.

Instant recovery of an entire VM, as there are times when I need to do it.

We no longer use tapes. The restoration of files, email and entire servers have been reduced to mere minutes instead of hours or days, which it was at times.

Support for physical servers. Although we are continuing to virtualize all of our servers; there are, at this time, a few physical servers in our organization. They must be backed up as well. Currently, we have to use another vendor to backup these servers.

I’ve been using Veeam Backup and Replication for about two years now.

No issues encountered.

None so far and I don’t expect to have any issues with stability in the future.

For our organization, it has scaled exceptionally well.

They have taken care of our needs, and been there each step of the way for us, so I would rate it as exceptional.

We have not had to place many calls with technical support. You could say this fact says a lot about the stability and ease of deployment. There have been a few times we have called and each time our issue was resolved in a very reasonable time frame. The engineers are very knowledgeable, not only of their product, but also of the platform & hypervisor that we use in our datacenter.

Yes we did. Agents and licensing were getting too cumbersome and performance was not where we felt it should be.
