Process mining has delivered major savings and now needs better automation and task mining
Collaboration with ERPs should be improved. Compared to SAP Signavio, Celonis is less competitive for BPMN modeling. Deployment flexibility needs enhancement, as on-premises support is not as strong as SaaS support. The most important area for improvement is the automation part. End-to-end automation capabilities are desired. Currently, workflows are being used, but actions should be able to go via email, task, APIs, and ultimately write back to the source. Adding RPA capability that can interact with required systems and write back to the source would greatly enhance Celonis. Task mining capabilities also require improvement. UiPath Process Mining and Microsoft Process Mining have better task mining capabilities compared to Celonis. Usability and support from Celonis need improvement. They should help clients find more value in the product. Cost is another significant concern, as Celonis is very expensive compared to other process mining tools. The license cost should be reduced. Celonis should establish partnerships with clients to find more use cases and maximize the value gained from Celonis.

If customers want to change the color or the logo, they have to go through every page to verify everything is right. We have a strategic approach for the customer. I was involved in almost 100 sessions where the customers were looking for a one-time process visualization or one-time process mining, not for a long-term association with this tool. The customer's requirements are more tactical than strategic. We had some challenges during this time frame as I was with iGrafx, and electricity costs rose in Germany. One customer stopped a large deal because they had to reduce every non-invested investment due to the electricity bill rising by 500% to 800%.

Pros

"Celonis, especially for high-risk finance-related processes, helped us make precise decisions and uncover hidden values within our architecture. It was one of the most significant values our business identified. Additionally, it helped us during the migration process."
"They have a good UI and good features for data extraction, data load, and data transformation."
"Celonis has positively impacted my organization as it holds a Titanium partnership with Celonis."

"It provides a visualization of the process itself, giving a very good synthesis of performance and helping me find improvements."
"I have found the automatic mapping of the processes themselves to be a valuable feature."
"Its usage is relatively straightforward after the UI is set up, and there's a lot of pre-built analysis that can be utilized, which saves a lot of time, and overall, it is a good product."
"What I found most valuable in Celonis is the ease of use. I also like that users can compare and contrast and derive any KPIs, keep track and see what's happening within the process via Celonis."
"One of the biggest plus points of the product stems from the fact that I have never seen any glitches in it."
"It's a great product, but all the functionalities need to be exploited in order to get the full value of the investment."
"The solution has helped our organization because instead of writing long documentation for the shop floor, flow charts make it more attractive for the staff to follow up on and carry out procedures."
"If you need software to help you easily design processes, make simulations, build value stream mappings, which has some LEAN features, and DMAIC support, I strongly encourage you to go forward and buy iGrafx."

Cons

"Complexity is the biggest problem. You need a large amount of skill and knowledge to work with the tool."
"The task mining feature of Celonis needs improvement because it's more challenging than it looks."
"Celonis needs to improve the feature channel. They should incorporate more generative AI elements into their solution."
"In the next release, I would like for them to integrate more custom features to ease the process of having multiple solutions. I would like to be able to integrate it with other solutions."
"We want to see its linkage to Robotic Process Automation. We would also like to see how can it lead to the implementation side and whether the transition is smooth."
"In the solution, you have access to how the process is, and are able to integrate that with other systems that allow you to make changes to the process itself, this process can be improved."
"They need to improve the root cause analysis because they label symptoms as root causes."
"It would help if they had more integration flexibility and automation features."

"The price could be more competitive."
"They can reduce the cost of the product and make it easily accessible for consultants."

"It can be more user-friendly."

"It would be nice to have a Spanish user interface available to us."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Evaluating the price of the solution can be a difficult question. It is all about the business case and the return of the investments. That is typically how we also see this type of solution. It depends very much on the return. The entry-level is focused on enterprise size companies, for the SMB segment is it is out of their range. It is definitely expensive."
"It is quite a significant investment. From a cost perspective, they need to reevaluate the licensing model. The cost is justified, but they need to make the licensing model slightly different."
"Celonis has the highest pricing in the process mining domain."
"Celonis is a little more expensive than UiPath."
"The solution is quite expensive."
"Celonis is the most expensive solution in the market"
"Celonis is expensive. It's not for mid or low-sized enterprises because the license price is high. Overall, it's quite pricey compared to anything else that I have heard about. But the good thing is that they don't charge per user. They charge for the data model."
"The solution’s pricing is based on APC. It charges you based on the amount of GV that you use."
"The licensing part is one of the problems. Its licensing depends on the number of users, so it sometimes gets expensive."
"Earlier, the licensing part was complex because there were so many modules and elements in the tool. Over the last one and a half years, a lot of work has gone into how the product has priced and positioned its tools in the market."
"I have heard that the solution's pricing is very competitive."
"My company is trying to replace iGrafx because the license is a little bit expensive."
"Our license is a subscription-based model that is per user. The solution is not expensive, I believe a subscription-based model is $10 per user."
