Has all-inclusive pricing and good talent acquisition and onboarding components, and is an excellent product for mid-sized to large organizations
They could probably add surveying, as in engagement surveys, to their product. That would be something that would be valued by their customers. For instance, Culture Amp is a product that does a lot of the engagement stuff. They're diversifying into other aspects of talent management. It is not yet at the same scale as PageUp People, but it is an excellent product as well.

Has improved HR process efficiency through intuitive workflows and responsive support
There is something that could be improved in Workday, specifically in the time tracking module. While I am not working on Workday now, I was a regional HRIS working for Egypt, Malta, India, and China. I mention these countries to relate to high population countries and companies. In our company, we use assigned work schedules for our teams. Because we work with the time tracking module, we need to assign shifts. In the manufacturing industry, we might need to change shifts every day or week. Manufacturing teams are huge, approximately 50 to 200 people in one team. If this team has one leader, the leader needs to assign a work schedule for each person individually. While there is mass upload functionality where we can load shifts for all people or specific groups, we need to select multiple people and assign them to a schedule from the interface itself. I have requested this functionality many times. When extracting business processes awaiting actions report, I can select different processes in one box, hit okay, and the report comes up. However, the same functionality does not work for work schedule assigning. If implemented, it would help many people in companies with high populations and big teams.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a reliable, simple to use, end-to-end system for employee lifecycle management."
"If you are looking for a product with great support, recruitment functionality, ease-of-use, and reliability, this is a great product."
"It has a user-friendly interface in managing job requisitions for the end user."
"Once automated through the system, the approval timeframe decreased to two days."
"The talent acquisition and the onboarding components of the system are most valuable."
"I loved that function, as it made it SO much easier to work out the logistics of those days, and allowing candidates to book their own time slot was a lifesaver as it would have been a nightmare trying to do it for them."
"PageUp has allowed us to integrate all HR systems and manage all processes associated with the employee lifecycle from recruitment through to managing performance, learning and development; also where applicable, departures from the organisation processes."
"It provides a centralised repository of information for various HR functions."
"It was more efficient for the agents for their performance reviews, but when it came to HR and the recruitment team, it sometimes worked, and sometimes, it didn't work."
"We have fewer systems, less manual data entry, and less processing."
"Workday is highly intuitive from a customer experience perspective. It was effortless for us to understand what to do even though we didn't have any related training. It was easy to use without guidance."
"The solution is extremely stable."
"The reporting capability is perfectly adequate in 90% of cases, given the requisite training."
"It's a fully consolidated system. All the transactions and configuration are co-located in one fully in-memory system, so there is no need to go to different data sources (multiple DBs) to pull data; it’s all in one place."
"It's actually a cloud-native solution and based on the community for development. It is a very good open architecture and able to interconnect with other systems. And it is very stable and very fast in terms of response."
"It is quite user-friendly, and we can store all the employee data information on it."

Cons

"There are sometimes problems when loading the system; it can be very slow."
"In our experience, PageUp has not been as flexible as we would like or expect as a vendor."
"The ability to pull reports was limited for us."
"The on-boarding process, with specific relation to the provisioning process, isn’t set up as well as other competitors, such as RedCarpet (SilkRoad)."
"Maybe there is a need to improve the interface so that we will be able to easily search for modules in regards to the system fix."
"The automated removal of historical data would be great if the user could remove it on an ad-hoc basis when required."
"Reporting could be improved. Some changes were made to functionality a year or two ago, and whilst there have certainly been some improvements in some areas (in terms of the dashboard view, for example), we have experienced some difficulty in trying to automate some fairly standard reports to be sent out to our hiring areas regarding current recruitment in their respective areas."
"They could probably add surveying, as in engagement surveys, to their product. That would be something that would be valued by their customers. For instance, Culture Amp is a product that does a lot of the engagement stuff. They're diversifying into other aspects of talent management. It is not yet at the same scale as PageUp People, but it is an excellent product as well."
"This solution could be made easier to use by continuing to release new improvements."
"Workday could improve its custom reporting for beginners."
"Setting up reports can be a bit tricky."
"Also, while the browser is powerful, the mobile app is so limited it is mostly useless."
"One area that could be improved with Workday is the analytics side."
"Workday does have a community site where people can go on and off for suggestions. They call them Brainstorms, and you can vote them up. That is something that they do well, but oftentimes, they seem to be racing to deliver something based on what a competitor is delivering. For example, if they hear SAP has this new functionality and learning that's going to be coming out, they prioritize there, which makes sense, but unfortunately, some of these Brainstorms may get neglected where the product might not be improved as quickly or as needed for the customers. You might be waiting for a year or two to get a feature that you'd like released. They should pay more attention to customer feedback and ensure that customer feedback is an essential part of their product roadmap."
"It is very unique as compared to other tools in terms of the employee master data and how it is organized. That's why sometimes the information needs to sit in two different systems because, in Workday, it is organized differently. This issue is not related to benefits. It is more or so related to how you categorize employees. I don't think this is a problem that could be solved. Workday is aware of this. It is one of those kinds of situations that you just got to live with."
"Analytical tools have needed improvement. Workday has just released Prism Analytics, to replace the current analytical tools, so it’s in the early stages."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"PageUp has a different model from other organizations. As part of their pricing structure, they tend to work with you very closely and not charge you for the setup. So, there is one price all inclusive of setup, and for that reason, they become an attractive provider to work with. Here in Australia, the education sector has gravitated very heavily towards PageUp."
"I would rate the solution’s pricing a six out of ten."
"I need to pay for a license. It is expensive."
"With a bigger budget, I would recommend SAP."
"I rate the product’s pricing a ten out of ten."
"It has an annual subscription rate, but I'm not sure how it will work."
"Workday is moderately priced - I'd rate its pricing three out of five."
"Workday is an expensive solution."
"The pricing is good from an HR perspective, although management gets upset after spending $500,000 a year, every year."
