It links to major job boards and vacancies websites. Employee records are automatically created once they are in the payroll system.
The PageUp system could be improved if it could manage independent contractors. In our sector, contractors include all people engaged by the business for project or site work who are NOT on our Payroll system; they are not technically employees. Currently, our organization utilizes a separate software package to manage Contractor on boarding, inductions, and training. This represents significant additional financial outlay for the second system. Most induction and training records are automatically stored in the learning management component of PageUp once the user has commenced or completed any learning content. However, in some instances, parts of our business may develop and implement learning activities outside of the PageUp system and they may have several hundred participants in these activities. This makes manual data entry of the records very onerous. The PageUp system could be improved through the addition of functionality where batch uploads can be conducted. Batch uploading of many hundreds of records would save considerable time and resources. This product could be improved if it could manage contractors. That is, people who are not directly employed by your organization. Also, if training records could be uploaded in batches (as opposed to users creating their own development records) when required, this would be an improvement.

User-friendly, well-organized, offering a structured step-by-step process for configuration
I would really like to see a more robust timekeeping solution in Workday. Currently, most organizations are using Kronos for timekeeping and Workday for HR data. They then integrate Workday with Dimensions to manage time-related activities and payroll processing. I think if Workday could enhance its timekeeping solution to match the functionality and flexibility of Dimensions, it would be a really good product. Another area for improvement is payroll. Workday payroll is not very extensively used in the North American market, but it is more widely used in Europe. There is a lot of complexity in payroll processing in North America, but I think there is still a lot of room for improvement in Workday. In the next release, I would like to see pre-built or predefined connectors for Dimensions and other applications. Currently, we have to use Boomi or another middleware application to integrate Workday with these systems. I think pre-built connectors would be very helpful, especially for Dimensions, which we do not currently have a connector for.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The talent acquisition and the onboarding components of the system are most valuable."
"The product is useful for storing employee records."
"It's a fully consolidated system. All the transactions and configuration are co-located in one fully in-memory system, so there is no need to go to different data sources (multiple DBs) to pull data; it’s all in one place."
"The most helpful Workday features for our HR processes were in HCM, particularly in areas like talent, compensation, benefits, and learning."
"Provides flexibility to integrate with the product. It has several tools, out-of-the-box, for integrations. It delivers pre-built interfaces for specific vendors, pre-built generic integrations to extract or push data into Workday through configuration."
"It is easy to use and straightforward."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of reporting."
"The user interface is good and very easy to use."
"Workday's best features are planning and finance."

Cons

"They could probably add surveying, as in engagement surveys, to their product. That would be something that would be valued by their customers. For instance, Culture Amp is a product that does a lot of the engagement stuff. They're diversifying into other aspects of talent management. It is not yet at the same scale as PageUp People, but it is an excellent product as well."
"Workday would be improved with more API connectors."
"This solution could be made easier to use by continuing to release new improvements."
"I would be happy if it was faster. Currently, when I try to navigate within the solution itself, it is a bit slow in terms of the page load time. When I click on something, it usually takes time to load. When you click on different icons or areas on the website, it is slow. Even when you navigate between different models, it is a bit slow. I would like to see a bit faster performance and a better user experience."
"Workday could give us industry-specific or vertical-specific solutions."
"If you want to add more features to your subscription, Workday becomes expensive."
"The user interface can be enhanced."
"It is good that much of the development is based on community input but often that can lead to details being ignored and small, nagging issues are ignored."
"The solution needs to be updated with generative UI."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"PageUp has a different model from other organizations. As part of their pricing structure, they tend to work with you very closely and not charge you for the setup. So, there is one price all inclusive of setup, and for that reason, they become an attractive provider to work with. Here in Australia, the education sector has gravitated very heavily towards PageUp."
"Workday is an expensive solution."
"It has an annual subscription rate, but I'm not sure how it will work."
"I need to pay for a license. It is expensive."
"Its price is pretty high. It is more expensive than what is offered by other competitors in the market."
"It's very, very expensive."
"The pricing is good from an HR perspective, although management gets upset after spending $500,000 a year, every year."
"By and large, Workday is expensive. It is based on the headcount. I'd probably rate it a three or four out of five in terms of pricing. It'd be like buying a Mercedes or a high-end car. It's expensive, but there's a specific value that you're getting with additional features and things of that nature. Using that metaphor, Workday probably tends to be more of a luxury. There are others like ADP that can do your payroll, your time off, and other things, but they don't do it as well."
"You have the license fee per module, and then you have a kind of annual training fee, which is a kind of add-on. I wouldn't say it is exhaustive; it is minor. Licensing is pretty transparent for most of the part."
