Simple to use, makes tasks easier, and scalable
Pros and Cons
  • "One of the most valuable features is this solution makes a lot of tasks easier, such as storing files and the maintenance of your infrastructure. additionally, the solution is easy to use."
  • "One of the only aspects that I do not like about Microsoft is that they release solutions into the market without testing them and rely on users to test them."

What is our primary use case?

We are moving most of our applications to the cloud with Microsoft 365 Business. We use many of the applications, such as OneDrive, Teams, and add-ons.

What is most valuable?

One of the most valuable features is this solution makes a lot of tasks easier, such as storing files and the maintenance of your infrastructure. additionally, the solution is easy to use.

What needs improvement?

One of the only aspects that I do not like about Microsoft is that they release solutions into the market without testing them and rely on users to test them.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for more than one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have had no problems with the stability of Microsoft 365 Business.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution in my experience is scalable.

We have approximately 3,500 Active Directory users in my organization and all of them are using Microsoft solutions.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

When I started out at the company I work for we were previously using an email solution called Lotus Notes.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is not my department. However, from what I have heard it seems some of it is easy, while others parts are more difficult.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of this solution is expensive and the price could be reduced. The licensing cost is very high because we are using an E5 license for Microsoft.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend this solution to others.

I rate Microsoft 365 Business an eight out of ten.

Excellent support, easy to set up, and very stable with valuable Microsoft Teams
Pros and Cons
  • "Microsoft Teams, without a shadow of a doubt, is the best platform ever. It is also very stable with a lot of options."
  • "They should simplify breakout rooms a bit. Breakout rooms are probably the most important factor. They have done some work on breakout rooms, but they probably have to do a bit more to make them simpler."

What is most valuable?

Microsoft Teams, without a shadow of doubt, is the best platform ever.

It is also very stable with a lot of options.

What needs improvement?

They should simplify breakout rooms a bit. Breakout rooms are probably the most important factor. They have done some work on breakout rooms, but they probably have to do a bit more to make them simpler.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for the last eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable. Currently, we have over 1,200 users. We are also rolling it out to students, and our number of users will roughly be from 3,500 to 4,000. These users will be across the globe at the following locations: Geneva, Paris, London, Dhaka in Bangladesh, Hyderabad in India, Maputo in Mozambique, Mombasa in Kenya, and few locations in Canada and the US.

How are customer service and technical support?

Their technical support is extremely good. They walk you through, and if needed, they are happy to talk to you for a couple of hours. It doesn't matter whether it is the middle of the night or early morning.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

For students, we have been using Google Suite, but they are no match with Microsoft. So, we are moving out. A limitation of Google is that it is not present at every location. They were able to deploy it for India and Kenya, but for Mozambique, after trying for six months, they refused. They asked for a lot of information, and we gave them all the information. They kept us waiting for six months, and then they came back and said, "No, sorry, we can't provide." That was very disheartening.

In terms of support, Google is no match with Microsoft. Google probably doesn't provide support.

How was the initial setup?

Its installation is so simple. You just have to turn the service on from the global account, and then a user can just log in to his or her account and download and install it. A user doesn't need support. There is, of course, a bit of difference from user to user, but generally, it is fairly simple. You could just click Next and do it yourself. It takes less than five minutes.

What about the implementation team?

I have done it myself, and I have also seen non-IT users doing it themselves.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Our licensing is annual. We have a Volume Licensing deal with them.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We straight away went to Microsoft.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution without a shadow of doubt. I would rate Microsoft 365 Business a ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Stable and inexpensive with great collaboration capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The product has good pricing. It's quite inexpensive."
  • "The customization after the initial setup can take a while."

What is our primary use case?

We are primarily using it for our office.

We are using it for email as well. Our Outlook email is on Office 365.

We also use the other items that come with Office. It's great for task managers, schedulers, and has great document sharing software. We use Sharepoint.

What is most valuable?

Overall, it is a great product. So far, we are enjoying it.

In Office 365, the collaboration part whereby you can actually type your document on your machine, then upload or save it onto your Office 365, and share it with anyone that you want. You can actually edit it in real-time. That's one of the great strengths of Office 365.

The solution is very stable.

The solution scales well.

The product has good pricing. It's quite inexpensive.

What needs improvement?

We haven't used the solution for very long just yet. I can't say that I have come across missing features or faults in its design.

The customization after the initial setup can take a while.

The solution could always be cheaper, as we like to pay the least amount possible.

As long as the solution continues to add new features and grow out the offering, we will be very happy.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for about a month or so now. It hasn't been that long. It's still quite new.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability has been good so far. It does not crash or freeze. There are no bugs or glitches that I have experienced. it's reliable. The performance has been quite good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of the product is quite good. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so with relative ease.

We have roughly 2,500 users on the solution currently.

How are customer service and technical support?

Even though we have only used the solution for about a month or so, we have been in touch with technical support and we have found Microsoft to be helpful and responsive. We're satisfied with their level of service so far.

How was the initial setup?

I didn't directly participate in the initial setup and therefore can't speak to how easy or difficult the product was to install. Microsoft handled it for the most part. We, however, did the work of customizing it on our end. For us, the customization and configuration took us a few days. It was more than a week. It took some time.

The technical team that deals directly with the product is a team of about ten or so people.

What about the implementation team?

The installation was mostly handled by Microsoft.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm not quite clear on the financials. I'm just too technical, and I don't work directly with billing and payments. But I think from what we have seen so far, it's been quite cheap.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate the solution at a nine out of ten. It's been very capable so far, and we enjoy the real-time file sharing and editing aspects.

I'd recommend this product to other organizations and users.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

This is a familiar suite of business tools that you can install and use without training
Pros and Cons
  • "Microsoft products are familiar to most users and intuitive to use."
  • "The Teams feature should be more flexible in integrating with other communications products."

What is our primary use case?

We take care of our business tasks and communications using the full office environment.

What is most valuable?

Teams is also a part of the Office 365 suite from Microsoft that I was actually using separately from Office before we moved to the Office 365 product.

What needs improvement?

The thing I think can be improved is the Teams functionalities. Teams software is like Zoom and it is more-or-less the same idea. It is less intuitive in comparison to what I was used to in Zoom. Zoom has a much more intuitive interface and is user-friendly in how you create meetings, how to participate, and how you invite people to join groups. You can do conference calls with many parties more easily using Zoom.

Inside the organization where everyone else also has Teams, it is a very good tool. But if I want to have someone join that is not in my organization or using another connection method like a phone number, it is tricky. You cannot dial to regular phones which is a feature that exists in Skype for Business.

The integration with other products is less fluid compared to Zoom and Skype for Business. Those products are more flexible and I am able to dial regular phones. Zoom is a much more flexible product and I may like it more because it is familiar.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the complete suite for the last seven months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a mature and stable product. There are no concerns with stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have no complaints about the scalability. The entire company is using the product and we are a company with about 800 employees. Maybe some people in the production areas are not using it because it is not important to their work, but all the office people are working with this tool.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used other versions of Microsoft products. Let's say we have been using Microsoft products for the last 10 or 15 years, which is common practice for many companies. It is company policy and not something that I can influence. No one asked me my opinion. It was the organization's decision to move to 365. We are all using Microsoft tools.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward. We did not use an integrator, reseller, or consultant for the deployment. We have an IT team inside our company that helps us to use the tools and do installations.

We did not need to have any very special implementation strategy. We could just install the software to start using it. There is no deployment of hardware along with the software so the implementation time is very short.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

The Microsoft Office 365 suite is a pretty nice product. It is working fine, no real complaints. It is a sophisticated product. You have to explore on YouTube how to use some tricks and tips to work with it more efficiently.

What other advice do I have?

Overall I am satisfied with Office 365. It is a very convenient and common product — so nothing special to give advice about that most people do not already know. You really do not need any tools, any skills, or any special training to start using it.

Of course, later on, you can learn about some tips and tricks to enhance your experience and productivity. But in general, it is very nice.

On a scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate this product as a nine-out-of-ten.

A stable and scalable solution with straightforward use and installation and good tech support
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is nice and straightforward."
  • "There is an error in the languages which creates a very big problem."

What is our primary use case?

Everyone in our organization uses Office, including PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook.

What is most valuable?

The solution is nice and straightforward. They are in the process of expanding everything to the mobile to allow for integration between it.

What needs improvement?

The acrylic solution could be improved. There is an error in the languages which creates a very big problem. In Hebrew one writes from right to left, not the converse. Customers receive emails in which the English word appears at the beginning instead of the end. This makes reading challenging. There is still an issue with the Greek language.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Microsoft 365 Business since the beginning.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Thes solution is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support, being Microsoft, is good. Usually, there are no problems with the solution, as it is used by everybody, from secretaries to professionals.

How was the initial setup?

As the solution is cloud-based, the installation is straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing costs are not expensive. The prices are okay. Nowadays, Office 365 is available and I see companies working with this. It can also be rented monthly or bought on-premises.

The payment terms can vary. One who rents Office 365 will accrue a monthly cost. One who rents the on-premises version of Office from Microsoft, as opposed to its cloud-based counterpart, will have the option of paying for it annually or purchasing a single license with support.

Microsoft offers many features. When one buys a Microsoft license, he pays for everything inclusively, including Windows, Office, databases, BI and other Microsoft solutions. Everything is visible. One does not pay for the individual components but for the solution itself.

What other advice do I have?

Everybody uses Office. I am not aware of a single customer who does not. I think this rule applies to everyone in Israel uniformly.

The number of people using the solution matches the size of the population in the country.

I don't believe that use of Microsoft 365 Business over some other solution is really optional. This said, those using Apple or Mac have the option of going with OpenOffice, but 99 percent of the Israeli market goes with Microsoft and Windows, in which Office comes bundled in it. Perhaps in the United States this is different, as they have a much greater propensity to use Mac.

I rate Microsoft 365 Business as a ten out of ten. everyone uses it and there is really no alternative available. While the market makes available other choices, they cannot compete with Microsoft. There is the OpenOffice option, which I believe is employed with Mac and Apple.
